Best speech given but substance free as per pundits. Crowds loved it.

    War is problem however.

    From tumblr:

    mykicks:

“The best feeling I had about Obama was when he signed a law expanding health care coverage to millions of Americans.

The best feeling I had about Obama was when he helped make sure that everyone brave enough to serve in the military can do so openly.

The best feeling I had about Obama was when he said that everyone should be able to marry whomever they love.

I barely remember the act of voting for him now.”

    And i might add:

The best feeling I had about President Obama was when he said women had a right to choose and deserve equal pay for equal work.

    Add your own!

The best feeling I had about President Obama is when he took the oath of office….for the first time in a long time I felt good voting FOR someone than AGAINST the other guy. Voting and helping to elect PBO is the proudest moment I felt as a citizen and had great hopes for our country.

Best feeling I had was when Senator Obama decided he would run. I was ecstatic to vote for a black person- just being honest here. Liked and voted for Carter and Clinton, Gore and Kerry. But for the children in my family to witness this greatness, no comparison.

it was one of the worst acceptance speeches i ever remember seeing in terms of content, delivery, and results/crowd reaction. absolute joke. if brokaw is struggling to fluff it, we know it was baaaaad.

well, i only saw the brief bit nbc had right after, and he was somewhat speechless and stammering trying to find something positive. he said the eastwood thing really messed up the whole night for them, and he was surprised how much the mittbot seemed to just be reading bullet points instead of sweeping inspiration. but of course tommy boy pulled it together at the end to say that line about the tides and planets was good though. freeeeak!! and david greagory quickly jumps in to say how fantastic mittbot was…not exaggerating…

Well, well, well… old Eastwood has outdone himself in getting our Beloved President re-elected. Also, Willard helped out by opening his many mouths and talking. OBAMA/BIDEN 2012!!!!

LOD loved it, best speech ever, He wants to kiss Willard.
    More details at 11.
I am going to bed, still Sick, and nobody will let me know why this Panel on MSNBaunC all of a sudden loves Willard? I wonder if Fox will be so gracious to the Presidents speech?

They are upset cause morningJoe doesn’t like them – Here’s Andrew Sullivan’s take

“My instant verdict? A good night for improving Mitt’s personal image; but a sad evening for an actual reality-based critique of Obama’s record, or a coherent set of proposals for the future. He has one argument: the economy sucks and you should fire the president because of it. That’s it.

I thought Bush’s two acceptance speeches and McCain’s were much better. In a word: mediocre, and deeply dishonest as an argument. As a way to soften his awful image: B ”

I listened to nbcnews people and they mumbled without much enthusiam – even Chuck Todd – called it “optimistic nostalgia”

    • 43 lisalovesobama
      August 30, 2012 at 11:41 pm

Not true. He said that this is the best speech Willard has ever done and that the bar was low anyway, so this was just fantastic for the audience in the room. He was right, this is the best he’s ever done. He’s still a liar, but it was the best I’ve ever seen him…. That’s not saying a lot since the bar is very, very low.

    Reality check….http://progressiveerupts.blogspot.com/2012/08/no-ones-watched-and-even-fewer-cared.html

No One Watched and Even Fewer Cared
Reading conservative blogs, one would think that the whole country has gone all Rmoney/Ryan over the past few days. But the truth is that most Americans don’t care, and they haven’t been tuning in.

The convention has appealed only to the folks who are already cheering for the ticket. No one else.

Oh, and even their most ardent propagandists, FAUX NOOZ, called Ryan’s speech mostly lies.

The convention apparently has been on a noisy lie fest with the usual mouth pieces repeating the same half-truths and misrepresentations.

The good news is that fewer people tuned in, so it doesn’t matter. The only people thrilled by it all were the ones who were going to vote for Mittens against President Obama anyway.

    A very large yawn.

I fell asleep after a long day at work. I woke up to see wooden Mittens declare war on Iran.

for those with strong hearts and are masocists…at the time i thought mccain’s rnc speech in 2008 was really weird, but comparing that one to tonight, and especially the crowd reactions (ironically they show mittbot in the crowd at one point), and mittbot is in deep doo-doo. the republicans were 20 times more riled up in 2008, and they lost to senator obama in a landslide:

cannot wait for president obama to take the stage next week.

The one night Mitt Romney was supposed to introduce himself to millions of voters and all everyone’s talking about, tweeting about, and will be talking about tomorrow is Clint Eastwood rambling on and on to a chair aka Invisible Obama. The chair now has a twitter handle —> @InvisibleObama and it’s hilarious.

I’m still shocked. Clint Eastwood was losing his mind in real time. 😆 😆

I am so mellow as well, my beautiful TOD family. Hell, I went for two glasses of red tonight. One for Bobfr Birthday, and one for old Clint. Talking to POB with an empty chair. That did it for me. Some S…!!

Then Willard had the NERVES to enter like he is THE PRESIDENT coming in to make a State of the Union Speech!!
Shit, these old foolish ugly dried up men with money have lost their old minds for sure. I am sure POTUS, Jim, David Plouffe, and Axe, Gibby were all rolling out of their chairs. Even Bo rolled all over the place. FLOTUS had to even put Bo in “time out.” These fools have lost their last brain cell. Goin beat the hell out of them on Nov. 6, 2012. Good night my beautiful Chips and family.HZ

    h/t to Planet POV:

ABRAHAM LINCOLN, letter to George E. Pickett, Feb. 22, 1841
He who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world’s believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good dispositions.

Maybe Mitt would do well to listen to his Republican elder…
