Nope. That is PPP….Dem poll. It doesn’t count. It is an outlier. Look at the ABC/Washington Poll, TeaNN Likely Poll, OK?

It must be a tight race, or why are the media pumping up Willard? OK, my David Brooks’ imitation…..Failed?

        August 28, 2012 at 12:06 pm

WaPo is the outlier. This is consistent with Reuters/Ipsos also.

I would add PPP has been running even or plus 2 on their nat. polls, very conservative in that respect. So this +6 is fine. That said the state polls are what counts. The Florida poll this week looked very good to me.

I am with you Bill R. I was trying to imitate David Brooks. I suppose, I failed.

Funny Herman Cain has hired a private investigator to find out how the media crewed him over? Seriously? Does any one care?

It’s not an outlier. A good analysis of the internals at dKos. Yes, party affiliation was more pro-Dem this time, but the numbers were about the same on party ID when PBO was up by only 1 in July. Their takeaway from the party ID is that it is more fluid than people realize.

Congrats of 1st! Just got power on from Iaasac. I have been out of the loop for two days. We got slammed in Delray. Spoke to Gosal in the Keys and all they had was a little rain. What did I miss?

No, she won’t, AndoG. She’ll just share the details of the miscarriage THEY had 20+ years ago. See, they’re human. 🙄 🙄

Now, Annieb, you and I know it won’t! 😉 AnnD is right about one thing, releasing them will give us LOTS of solid evidence of who they really are. To date we have seen only the fringes IMO. Remember the old, old saying ‘you can’t create blood out of stone’? I would be surprised to discover that these two have ever done ANYTHING that did not serve their own interests exclusive of any one else’s!

The Stericyle thing is starting to get traction:

“Heaven sent a hurricane to hold off Gov. Romney’s coronation, so today we’re urging pro-life GOP delegates to abstain from any voting on Romney’s nomination until all GOP financial support for Todd Akin is reinstated and details of Romney’s income tax returns in connection with Bain’s Stericycle investment have been made public,” Operation Rescue President Troy Newman said.

(Of course, the almighty dollar is always the issue. Money, money, money, money…..money.)

In this interview Queen Ann said that she was sure she was miscarrying but wouldn’t wake up Mitt for three hours(!) I have a bad night with my asthma and my husband is FURIOUS at me if I don’t wake him up and tell him.

She also told the story of how devastated her youngest son was by the loss of this baby. From what I read, Mitt said he didn’t know about that?!? I’m looking for the source, which is hard to do because my boss seems to think I should be working or something. But I’ll look for where I read that.

I’m gonna go there with the TOD family: there is something bizarrely wrong with Mormon families and the infallibility of the menfolk. It’s creepy.

Morning TOD. Hope every one has a good day. For the past month and a half, it’s been a real rough time for me and my fam. We came this —><—- close to losing someone real close to me and in fact we did lose someone real close to my uncle (RIP Autnie Shanell). Losing someone and almost losing someone close to you makes u realize how short life can be. So Ya'll just don't know how happy I am to wake up every morning.

Life is short, damn sure better enjoy it however you can.

49 yrs ago today, the Rev MLK gave the I Have A Dream Speech in Washington DC. Rev Al Sharpton will remember. The rest of the media? Well Not so much. 7 yrs ago today, Katrina Hurricane happened.

Somehow I thought Rev Al is only in his 50’s.

        August 28, 2012 at 12:52 pm

Yes Rev Al is in his 50s. I am just saying that of all those in the national media, Rev Al will remember to note and acknowledge the 49th anniversary.

        • 39 vcprezofan2
          August 28, 2012 at 1:16 pm

Because Rev A’s so involved in civil rights issues, and because of his gray hairs, sometimes I myself have mentally put him on site with MLK. Your original comment mentioning 49 just made me pause and think for a moment; so I was kind, sorta thinking aloud. 😉

it’s not really “romney economics” it’s republican economics. find me a republican today that doesn’t agree and promote trickle down vulture capitalism. they all do! that’s not hyperbole. and we need to paint the entire party that way to help win down ticket races.

So some of my NOLA fam stayed and some left for Isaac. My moms says she woke up this morning and got this feeling of de ja vu and told my sister she didn’t want to ride it out and she wanted to go to Baton Rouge by my grandmother, so they went on their way. They probably already made it too. My lil cuz said his mom decided to stay in NOLA, but heck he got his own car, so he took him, another cousin and my baby Maddie and said deuces. One lesson my fam (especially the younger fam) learned from Katrina, betta safe than sorry. My dad rignt now lives in Hammond and so him along with my stepsister. My cousin Claudia (who has my 2 male godkids) and her husband and kids are going to Baton Rouge too. Claudia’s youngest has asthma really bad and if they lost power they would be unable to get her her treatements, so she’s heading to a friends house in Baton Rouge too. My cousin Raymond and his family were preparing to head out as well. Not surprisingly, the older fam are gonna stay and I told ’em all to just be safe.

Like I said it’s always better to be safe than sorry in these cases.

      Thanks muscatinegal for the Photo.

Those kids bring so much energy and intelligent. to the campaign. I noticed that when I was in Iowa canvassing Saturday .

In fact, these old Chicago muscles and bones took lotsa liniment and rest to recover.

PS. The team leader who trained us said she got a Kiss from President Obama during a rally. She told us she was so elated that she told everyone she’d see he kissed her. In doing so she was able to recruit a volunteer for OFA in Iowa. Like FLOTUS said it takes one!

I make it point to talk to people everyday why we should vote our President back in.

Abandoning the pretense of caring about facts

    By Steve Benen

It’s important to realize there is no modern precedent for a presidential candidate rejecting the premise that facts matter. Mitt Romney is trying something no one has ever seen — he’s deemed the truth to be an inconvenient nuisance, which Romney will ignore, without shame, to advance his ambitions for vast power.

If you don’t find that frightening, you’re not paying close enough attention.

I loved Greg Sargent’s take on this, because Greg’s question is so terribly important.

In this sense, the Romney campaign continues to pose a test to the news media and our political system. What happens when one campaign has decided there is literally no set of boundaries that it needs to follow when it comes to the veracity of its assertions? The Romney campaign is betting that the press simply won’t be able to keep voters informed about the disputes that are central to the campaign, in the face of the sheer scope and volume of dishonesty it uncorks daily.

“MYTH” Romney Republicans are gambling that the kids are either stupid enough or bigoted enough – or both – to buy the bill of sell he’s selling.

I’ hope someone did crumble it up and throw it in the trash.

  22. August 28, 2012 at 1:11 pm

The Kochs tried to stop this too-

The Obama administration issued final rules Tuesday that require a major boost in vehicle mileage standards, highlighting a clash with Mitt Romney as the GOP convention gets under way.

The Transportation Department and Environmental Protection Agency announced joint mileage and carbon emissions rules for model years 2017 through 2025 that will eventually force automakers to meet a standard equivalent to 54.5 miles per gallon.

Mark this as another Romney LIE.

        Queen Anne is a prevaricator.

        A. ROMNEY: I know how to shop Costco. You go in the door. Don’t — don’t — I don’t want everyone to learn this trick.

(LAUGHTER) You go in the door, you take a sharp right, and you go way down to the back of the store and just go — just shop the outside of aisles, boom, boom, boom.

        M. ROMNEY: She also got me one of these three-packs of shirts the other day from Costco. And they’re…

Guess what? Costo doesn’t sell one or three packs of shirts. Costo doesn’t sell pack of shirts. I heard a caller this AM on Stephanie Miller saying they worked for Costo and that Costo doesn’t sell pack of shirts. I put in a search and found it to be true.

Watched an interesting program on Science Channel about chaos. The presenter addressed weather forecasting, explaining how you couldn’t really know the weather more than a couple of days out due to the chaotic nature of weather systems. So, yeah, rainy in 10 days. Hah.

This could change, but Bishop Dolan is scheduled to provide a blessing at the closing of the Repuke National Convention. There’s a petition being circulated to get him to change his mind and, instead of condoning Ryan and Romney, to “pray for the poor.” I believe he needs to hear from more than just Catholics, so he knows his stances are not coming across well among the American people. He always sounds to me as though he’s in it for the self-aggrandizement. If you’d care to sign, here’s the petition, which has nearly its goal of 25K signers:
