Indeed itgurl! Remember the night of the election in 2008, when PBO just picked her up when they came out on the stage? Something tells me that if PBO wins this Nov, there won’t be any picking up of Sasha (unless PBO wants to be bedridden for the remainder of the week) !!!

Hopefruit2, just a hug and kiss will do this time for the girls, who have grow up before our eyes. A First Family who represent us very well. I look at them and have such proud in my heart. One thing I disagree with you hopefruit2, it’s not if PBO wins, it’s when PBO wins in November.

I agree – its strange that they seem like family. I do miss and wonder what is up when I haven’t seen them in awhile. They have had some summer. They are growing so tall. Sasha is taller than me. 🙂 I can’t wait til they are adults and tell what its like living there during this period in time. Perhaps they will say it was just life and quite boring!!

And buy his book. I just downloaded it on my kindle.

This is immensely important concerning how to frame the stimulus. A mustcread for anyone who wants to help POTUS and Dems win in November.

UT, 57andfemale, and Pamela, it is a great read. I am reading it now and enjoying the information. Our POTUS is a brilliant man, and we have so much to make sure he is re-elected to finish the task. Blessings in your reading.

DF put a great find on a thread last evening.HZ

I’m grateful for having heard about this book here on the Diary. It’s on its way, will land on my porch Tuesday morning. One of the great things I love about this site — I hear about great books without wading through a lot of crap. One of the posters put up a video of Nat King Cole singing and I remembered that my sister- in-law, who has perhaps only a year left in her life, always love to hear him and I sent for a DVD of his to pass on to her. I’m grateful for that, too. I’d forgot all about Janice loving Nat King Cole’s voice

            • August 19, 2012 at 1:07 pm

Hiya Joan, it’s one of the things I love about these good people too, always appreciate recommendations for good books, documentaries, etc. Lovely story about Janice, what a beautiful thing for you to do. Hope all’s well?

Just as long as as many of us as possible read it and re-frame the stimulus. Not a moment to lose.

    • 40 anniebella
      August 19, 2012 at 11:54 am

Believe it or not, I was watching that interview last week when POTUS said that, Malia was alot like him, and Sasha was like FLOTUS.

  11. August 19, 2012 at 11:31 am

OK, either Sasha didn’t eat in camp or she has gotten seriously taller. She doesn’t even look the same as when we saw her last. But the press has been kind about allowing them their privacy and only sending out pictures when they are with their parents.

    • 42 hopefruit2
      August 19, 2012 at 11:36 am

Sasha and Malia seem to have their father’s genetic growth pattern. Chubby before puberty, skinny during and after puberty. For most of us (wimmin), it’s usually the other way around unfortunately…LOL!

I think Sasha is going to have her momma’s build. I see the beginnings of some great arms on that young lady. Chalk up another real beauty in that family just like her mom and sister.

I know it’s not polite to talk about people’s weight but Barack was soooo chubby when he was a kid it’s amazing how skinny he is now. But Sasha looks like a completely different person now, actually a mini Michelle. Cutie pie. Looks like Malia hit 5’11 and Michelle’s 5’10 3/4.

    • August 19, 2012 at 11:43 am

  15. August 19, 2012 at 11:38 am

I broke my own rule and tried to watch Sunday shows. Ed Gillespie is such a bad liar. He throws up the $716B cuts in Medicare and good ole Chris Wallace lets it slide that the money was used to close the prescription drug doughnut hole for seniors. Then, on tax returns thestandard is that John McCain only released 2 years. Where is the response that as a Senator he released the last 21 years beforerunning for President? I am so glad I have normally lowbloodpressure because the stupidity would cause me to have a stroke.

Jackie I haven’t watch one Sunday show today, because of the very reason you talk about. Chris Wallace is not Mike Wallace, Just like Luke Russert is not his father, and Hank Williams Jr. is not his father, they can’t live up to their father, and it really messed up the red neck racists Hank Williams Jr.

    • August 19, 2012 at 1:53 pm

I go to church because I need the 1 hour break from the hassle of the week.

Today we had the Streetcorner Pastor of Utrecht, the Netherlands, as our interpreter-of-the-holy-book.

Man, am I glad that every once in a while I get the perspective from the homeless, the street-dwellers, who have to sell you stuff you might not need, just to have something to eat at night.

Oh, BTW, he read from Mark chapter 7 verses 32-35 – his take was that Jesus’ message here that we should open (effata) *our* ears and *our* mouths to support the needy …

        August 19, 2012 at 6:30 pm

        Really lovely and telling Toon…

I too go to church for quiet and to replenish my spirit…

Much needed especially in these times…even if it means worshipping alongside some who speak and hate in direct contradiction of the faith we proclaim…

In the end we are all only as good as the sum total of our hearts and soul…

And as the Pastor of Utrecht rightly admonishes, what we do in support of the least of us…

Cheney gets a mention “… Cheney, hunter of small birds and old friends…”
An unexpected piece from Maureen Dowd. Folks always start to support the President when they go just below the surface of the GOP pretenders. Happened in 2008, happening again.

There’s something happening out there — reporters and columnists actually committing acts of journalism. After seeing the President in action for nearly four years, some of them have decided that he’s not any stereotype that they’re familiar with. Plus, I think the long primary process convinced some of them that the Repugs got nutthin…except a lot of stupid.
It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out in the next 2-1/2 months.

I’m baaaaackkk! How lovely to have the first family greet me on my return to TODville. Malia will indeed eclipse her mom and probably her dad in height. She has a good year to a year and a half of growth left. Sasha may get taller than her mom too. Considering her age, she’s well on her way to that growth spurt that does it.

As promised, my political take for today is if you think things are unbearable now (MSM, Robme lies, Faux, poutrage, etc), just wait til after Labor Day. We’ll have to pace ourselves and keep the blood pressure in check by volunteering, donating, while ignoring the things that sets our hair on fire. Let’s stay inspired and encourage the doubters and naysayers to do the same. The ‘pubs are doing everything they can to suppress the vote and depress the voters.

So I’ve been following this guy and I see this tweet today. He still says he supports Pres.Obama. WTF? If you are not happy with your chapter of the Dem party that’s one thing. But joining the GOP, the LOUISIANA GOP, and still claiming to support Pres.Obama is just BS. He always seemed very pro Obama.. I’m really shocked by his switch to republican- that makes absolutely no sense.

I don’t get this… how do you join the party that is & has been putting alllll their efforts in to taking down this President? How does one support this President at this time within the Republican party and not be a hypocrite? The republican party is over flowing with Obama hatred, lies, innuendo and sabotage… not just nationally but all over in their local politics also. I do not see where one draws a line here, how clear eyed can you be in your support of Obama if all around you are shouting against his policies? What is it in the republican party that draws him? What are they doing FOR this country, even locally? Their freaking idiot Gov in LA is a repub and he’s an utter fool.

odd. he’s upset about ethics in the louisiana democratic party, and then joins the republican party?!? republicans are pathological in their ethics violations, so his reason makes no sense.

perhaps he’s doing an andy kaufman routine? maybe he’s hard up for cash and deciding he can get in on the wingnut welfare circuit like arturd davis? the ultimate “going into the belly of the beast” move to beat it? desperate plea for attention? maybe he’s simply nutso? he’s claiming 20% of republicans in louisiana will vote for president obama, and i don’t believe even 2% will. president obama isn’t going to win louisisana, so for him to put effort into winning over republicans is silly, when the real need is getting democrats to win in down ticket and local races. weird.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can they BE any more clear?? DOJ needs to look into this!

Doug Preisse, chairman of the Republican Party in Franklin County, which contains the city of Columbus, admitted in an email to the Columbus Dispatch that black voters would now have a more difficult time voting:
I guess I really actually feel we shouldn’t contort the voting process to accommodate the urban — read African-American — voter-turnout machine. Let’s be fair and reasonable.
Preisse was one of the board of elections members who blocked Democratic efforts in Franklin County to expand voting hours to evenings and weekends. According to the Dispatch, he called claims of unfairness “bullshit. Quote me!”
Preisse also served on Newt Gingrich’s leadership team in Ohio during the primary and is a top political consultant to Ohio governor John Kasich (R).

Good Morning/Afternoon Chips and my TOD Family. What a beautiful and gorgeous First Family we have! Malia and Sasha are just beautiful. POB is such a loving father. Our First Daughters are so blessed to be in the loving care of two wonderful and loving parents. I love our POTUS being with his family.

I gave up my prayer this morning, as I entered my quiet time, and I always remember how blessed we truly are to be here with our Chips.

(((((((((( My hugs for our Chipsticks))))))))))))))))) Let us enjoy our day and spread the beautiful gift of instruments of love, and grace with those we meet. Spread your smiles for all the miles you may travel on your journey today. Love those pictures as they walk to church. Just think that All of our spirits are surrounding them as well today. We love you, our beautiful First Family.

Okay, out to get quiet and have a little musical service of praise and thanksgiving myself. I love you all so much, and thanks for loving me back.(((((( I truly do love each of you))))))))HZ

Hello my dear gentle and sweet spirit. Thanks for asking. I am constantly in much pain, especially after I eat. No matter what I eat. I cry it out, med it out finally, but the process starts all over daily. I am embracing my space with lots of love and encouraging words.

I have a follow-up appt. with my cardiologist on Tues. I am hoping that I will be fine. I am grateful to have good insurance and able to get the medication and other medical treatments that are needed.

So I move on with the faith and spirit of my dear mother who showed me how to move with thanksgiving no matter what was in her day. I miss her so much. My brother is so loving to call and text to check on me no matter his schedule and the far distance between us in our living space., but he is so peaceful and positive. That keeps me upbeat and doing for others with a gratefulness in my heart.

Keep me in your thoughts, please. I am making calls for our president tomorrow. So, we will move FORWARD. Love you Chips. (((((Always)))))HZ

How are you doing? I will keep you in my thoughts and meditation quiet times asking for your to get to your ‘beautiful healing space’ so know that from me.(((((( keep healing, Betsy.))))))) Love you back.HZ

      Good Sunday afternoon everyone,
I just wanted to give you a little report on the President’s visit in Windham, NH yesterday. Five of my team members and I made the trip up to neighboring New Hampshire to see the President. For all, except me, it was their first time to attend an event with the President, and everyone was really excited. The doors at Windham High School opened at 10:30 a.m. and we arrived in Windham in plenty of time. However, on the access road to the High School, we were turned around: no more parking! So down the hill we went, found a spot to park and then hiked back up to the High School. And we had plenty of company as dozens of cars were turned around. In addition to the cars, there were lots of buses loaded with students, seniors and other groups. The place was packed. The event was held in the gymnasium. There was no air conditioning, but the wonderful New Hampshire volunteers circled around with cups of water. Everyone was in a celebratory mood shouting “Four more years” and “Fired up, ready to go” for more than an hour before the President arrived. I had been able to secure two of the blue “special tickets” for the rope line and I now have two volunteers who are pushing ME to do more!! The remainder of my group ended up on the stage behind the President. I scoured the pictures, but could find only one of our group (on C-span). The stage was quite wide and the camera obviously centered on the podium – so the rest of us cannot be seen. The President’s speech was extremely well received – he was on fire. People were shouting “we have your back” and more that I could not quite catch. At the end, he waved to the crowd and then turned around to look at us on the stage. And last night, every woman on that stage reported that the President blew a kiss at her. Of course, I know that it was just for me. Seriously, he was looking straight at me …well maybe my friend right next to me who happens to be the Nashua NH team leader. But no matter, it WAS for me. I can see New Hampshire coming back to the President and I get some sense that it may be a nationwide trend. But, of course, that doesn’t mean that we can let up. The next few months are very busy for all of us – with several events planned every week. The exuberance and off the chart enthusiasm displayed by my own volunteers gives me hope.

President Obama, I see you in the future and you look so much better than you do now. Jeremiah 29:11.

I was a bit puzzled too Hopefruit, but I’ll confess to having no clue what most of these Biblical verses mean. 😕

Me neither, that’s why I would love for Lorraine to explain what is meant by this.

          • August 19, 2012 at 1:35 pm

            Apparently this is Jeremiah 29:11:

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Dunno. I’m guessing it means your Lord will look after you in your life??

Okay then…that seems like a reasonable interpretation. I guess I was a bit concerned with the implication from Lorraine’s post that PBO is not in a good place right now.

Google “searchable bible” and you can look up any quote.
The King James version says that Jeremiah 29:11 is “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. “

Sounds to me Lorraine meant that despite all the attacks and the Dem traitors and such, along with the hatred- PBO will come out victorious and as a shining star, as he is meant to be. That’s my take anyway. 😀

Good interpretation, Chips. Because God does have His Hand on President Obama. Also God’s intentions towards ‘His’ are only good. That scripture is a lovely one to say over President Obama and/or anyone that you love and wish well for.

Awww, the Obama munchkins – very tall now! Sasha will be the tallest I think. She actually looks more like PBO in that first picture. Malia is so elegant – my what a beautiful family. That’s why the French love PBO – apart from the brains they have no problem saying openly that he is beautiful. The First Lady is as divine as ever – really an extraordinary family in that they ALL have so much charisma, looks, charm, brains. It’s unusual for the children of dynamic parents to be able to carve out such strong personalities and to be on par with the parents in terms of charisma but these two girls can. Mr Robinson and MO, PBO doing a fantastic job.

About to order the Grunwald book now – I really get the feeling that many of the nastiest liberals are going to feel very embarrassed because what has been exposed is that the ‘left’ in the media (including Chris Hayes) fell into lazy group think/speak on the stimulus. Will be interested to see if this book manages to switch the conversation. But all credit to CH today – his show was fab!
