I don’t doubt that was a set-up for Gibsy. Chris Wallace gave him something to blast Romney on – short and simple. With that set-up it comes off sooo much beeter in the form of a counter punch than just a punch. My opinion is that Chris is a conservative and loyal American but he’s not a Tea Party RWNJ and appreciates a good political fight and not hackery.

    Hi Chips,
First of all let me thank you for your support of our great president. I love this man and pray he gets a second term. Your website is indeed an oasis in a desert of misinformation and vitriol.

I am a lurker and choose to remain as such, but I want to bring to your attention a 1-hour show I saw early this morning on Current TV. It’s called “The Mormon Candidate”. I’m for freedom of religion, but the description of this cult as provided by former members left me with chills expecially considering the possiblity of a Romney presidency. So, if you have not done so already, please bring this to the attention of others. It was produced by the BBC.

Again, thank you for all you do to keep us informed about President Obama.

Like you I don’t like to put down anyone’s religion; but, I have questions as well. You hear a lot about how generous Romney is because he gives so much to his church. That’s fine. No problem here with titheing. But, I don’t believe that he gives to any other charaties. I find that odd that a man with all his millions and he doesn’t give away money to anyone or anything but his kids and the church. Just an observation.

        August 19, 2012 at 5:45 pm

The question is simple and it never gets asked: “Mr. Romney, what are YOU doing with your $20M+/year income to create jobs? Did you open a business? Build a factory? Help a school? Start a literacy program? Open a neighborhood hardware store?

You have hoarded your money, offshored most of it so as to not help your country. The notion that you will take an even bigger tax cut and employ people other than your landscapers or car elevator installers, is frankly laughable.

When Mitt “the lair” Romney talks of the President running a negative campaign,Romney is just trying to bring down the President likeability numbers. It won’t work, look at the President when he is with his family. Then look at him when he is among the people. And having FLOTUS out there talking about his values, what he cares about doesn’t hurt either. As FLOTUS says her husband knows what it’s like to struggle, to want better for your kids. To struggle making those college loan payments, to have someone you love, his Mother have to fight the insurance company for coverage, while she fight cancer. Romney can only relate to that 1% like he is.

I’m not current on everything here—and this may have been already discussed—-can’t remember if I got the link here or on twitter—–but I just finished reading this and have to say it the most important thing I’ve read for a long while—–on Joy Reid’s blog—–re. the writings of the former GOP staffer of 28 years on why he left the Repub Party and all their demented actions and goals. I’ve known all this at some level but to see someone who lived it write it all down —-with clarity and foreboding—-it’s a real eye-opener. And to say this next election is for all the marbles, all the decencies to which we’ve become accustomed—-is not an overstatement.

I think so. However I am sure they must be regrouping and planning some horrendous ads with all the money they’ve collected from Adelson and Kochs and their ilk. It really pisses me off that POTUS has to work this hard to get reelected when he’s done an the most OUTSTANDING job as POTUS saving our country from financial ruin and the Tea Party. Clinton and Bush barely worked and screwed up way too much and neither of them had to work that hard to get reelected.

The sick SCOTUS with their Citizens United and the GOP in the Do Nothing Congress committing treasonous acts against Americans are the ONLY reasons PBO is not winning in a landslide.

New York Times on Ryan/Romney plans for Medicare – Bullshyte

Women have mysterious powers to shut down “the whole thing.” What whole thing? The attack of the rapist, the threat of pregnancy? Tell that to the millions of women in history who have been forced to bear the child of a brutal rapist. And someone seriously nominated this fool as a candidate for office????

Mayor Kasim Reed Shoots Down ‘Very Serious Person’ Nonsense on Ryan

“MR. KASIM REED (D-Mayor of Atlanta, GA): Well, you know, the bottom line is I think that the Republicans made a decision to run for the second time a right-right election. And my dad said, you know, Republicans do well when they do dog leg left. If you go out to the Senate and you come– you go out to the right and back to the center. Democrats go out to the left, come back to the center. This is the second time they’ve gone right-right, which means they’re going to go in the woods. I mean, the fact of the matter is McCain picked Palin, right-right. And now Mitt Romney who is a moderate is picking a person who is right-right. He’s just a better salesman at it.”

Anyone and I mean anyone who says Romney is a moderate hasn’t been paying attention. He’s no more moderate than I am the queen of Sheba. He will say and propose the most far right cockamamie idea if he results in more money for himself. He could care less about anyone who isn’t rich. He’ll destroy any and every program that will help children, the sick, the poor or anyone in need. He will push for even greater class differences than exist in our already class divided society. So how can Reed say with a straight face that this guy is a moderate. True Ryan is more to the right. But that makes Romney right Wing and Ryan a fringe lunatic.

NEW YORK (AP) — Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Michelle Obama are giving a helping hand to Beyonce.

Obama and the pop stars have signed on to support the global campaign for World Humanitarian Day which Beyonce marked Sunday with the release of a new video for her song ‘‘I Was Here,’’ filmed at the United Nations in New York last week.

The campaign asks that on Sunday people help others through such acts as making sandwiches for the homeless or volunteering at a local charity. The goal is to share 1 billion messages of hope.

A representative for Beyonce says that Bieber, Gaga, Obama, Rihanna, Shakira, Jay-Z, Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin and others will participate.

I won’t link anything here, but you can google it and see for yourself exactly what I’m talking about by reading the entry. Just to give you a head- up in case you or anyone else decide to take a risk. When a blogger describes Stephanie Cutter as

I hate these attacks on our Vice-President. I hate attacks on Joe Biden, a decent, smart, long-serving member of Congress, who has led an exemplary life and who works so well with the President. They have camaraderie, they have each other’s backs. I am livid this afternoon hearing that the attack on his “gaffe” which really was not a gaffe at all is still out there. They are jealous. There will only be forced friendship between Romney and Ryan because they are the same in terms of having extreme views … not necessarily in the same direction. Romney flip-flops on everything and Ryan is rigid and extremely right-wing. And now purportedly the Ryan plan is out and the Romney economic plan will be in (if it is ever formed and explained)? They have nothing. To attack Biden right now means they need new blood. They need someone else to go after. They cannot fight President Obama’s steady and consistent message and course. They are trying and it is not working. There is nothing they can get on Biden. He may be more blunt and emotional in his delivery, but it is the same message as the President’s and they see that cohesiveness and cannot penetrate it nor will they be able to create it for their twosome, their party, or their convention. The RNC convention may be the debacle that we have all speculated about!

(P.S. Joe Biden also has a wife who is beautiful, educated, accomplished, well-spoken, who does not get angry and who is an integral part of the Obama Administration along with our President and Michelle! Ryan’s wife (I know very little about) but I think she does not always want to speak and the one tape I saw she put off the person trying to ask a question while Ryan just looked down with a hateful smirk on his face. Then we all know about Ann’s latest rant about their taxes! So they do not have the class, the charisma, the compassion of our fearless foursome, and never will. They are jealous. They need to attack and it is not working!)
