      My hope is that there are lots of Republicans out there who feel that way. And they will end up voting for President Obama. They won’t tell anyone, but they will do it because this is not the Republican Party they knew.

    My company is a little late with this but today we all got our little rebate checks because of ObamaCare. The Repubs in the office avoided eye contact with me today. I thought it was hilarious.

        You should have seen them HF2. They were madder than a wet hen but couldn’t say a word 😉 I told the payroll manager to let me know if any of them gave them back (none of them did). I was so proud to tout that we had President Obama to thank for those checks today.

            It’s sad. They’ve been programmed to have so much hate toward him that they refuse to give him any credit. I actually got a couple of them to vote for PBO in 2008. They are a loss cause now. Fortunately they are a small group and in the minority politically speaking where I work.

      You go, girl! One of my FB friends contacted me yesterday after I said that Romney/Ryan are lying their behinds off to say that PBO lies. I didn’t respond, but boy, did this particular FB friend get a huge surprise when it was revealed that Ryan has been lying his azzz off since the stimulus bill passed. I haven’t heard a peep out of him at all today. The republicans in your office have probably been saying all kinds of ugly things about PBO and the ACA, but the one thing they didn’t do today was hand back those rebate checks. The checks are proof that the ACA has lowered the cost of their medical insurance. I wonder how long it took them to take those checks to the bank and cash them? ROTFLMBO

      It doesn’t matter. While Mitt’s twitter “supporters” spend all their time obsessed with making anti-Obama trends, Obama supporters are challenging “journalists” to tell the truth and spreading real information to help get him elected.

      This is certainly one thing not to be bothered about. Let them waste their time making up stupid hateful trends on a social media site that’s already dominated by Obama supporters. They aren’t winning a single voter over to their side doing that. Not one single voter. Let them keep coming up with their hateful hashtags. Because they’re going to be in tears and on suicide watch the night of November 6th.

In fact, his fierce campaign pledge to resort to unilateral action to get Osama bin Laden, should he be hiding in Pakistan, was slammed by both Hillary Clinton and John McCain as reckless talk. But Obama took the promise seriously. Five months into his presidency, he sent a memo to Leon Panetta, then the new CIA chief, signaling that he considered finding bin Laden a high-priority task. He requested a detailed operation plan for locating and “bringing to justice” the mass-murderer. Yet for a year, Panetta did not have much to report to Obama on this front. Then in the summer of 2010, the agency informed Obama there was a lead: bin Laden might be in a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, about 35 miles north of Islamabad. He could be within Obama’s reach.

    Obama nixed the idea of commandos hunkering down to await diplomatic rescue. He worried that the Navy SEALs conducting the mission could end up as hostages of the Pakistanis, and he told McRaven to ensure that the U.S. forces could escape the compound and return to safety, whether or not they encountered Pakistani resistance.

    On Friday morning, April 29, before flying to Alabama to inspect tornado damage, Obama called national security adviser Tom Donilon, White House chief of staff Bill Daley, deputy national security adviser Denis McDonough, and John Brennan to the Diplomatic Room of the White House. They had expected to brief Obama again on the bin Laden options. But before the aides proceeded, Obama interrupted: “It’s a go.”

    “I’ve never seen a decision that courageous done without any sense of drama,” a top national security aide subsequently observed.

    None of the decisions that land on his desk are the easy ones. He is a calculated risk taker…not one of those Republicans can EVER match what this man has done. They are all talk and no action…unless it benefits THEM PERSONALLY. I have the utmost respect for this President…

          I feel like the entire morning on MSNBC is the Republican side, starting around 1pm with Martin Bashir is Dem and Obama supporter. Then you come to Chris Mathews who is both sides all by himself switching on any given day. Rev Al is another loyal Obama supporter Dem. i usually like Rachel due to her digging and detailed info. She can get sidetracked on her own specific issues which can be critical of PBO but she is usually supportive. I like Lawrence O’Donnell too and wish he was on Fridays instead of Hardball Twice.

And again, like Romney, he’s paying a lower rate than most middle class families do. And yet they want us to pay more so they can pay less.

    Paul Ryan just released 2 years of tax returns ( too few in my opinion) and thought because it’s a Friday, it would go by unnoticed. He’s a millionaire yet only paid 15.9% in taxes and made sure to use capital gains loopholes. Who the hell is running the Romney campaign? Now the news week is once again going to be dominated by “WHERE ARE ROMNEY’S TAX RETURNS?”

    You know, I heard this on the radio today. We (supposedly) have the greatest democracy in the world. Why don’t we have a day to celebrate that fact…and on that day…which is ELECTION DAY or a weekend day right BEFORE ELECTION DAY…we have a day off, like another 4th of July…vote, gather with family and friends and cook out and celebrate our right to vote in this country. Pay it the honor that it rightfully deserves…instead we have an entire political party and their cronies trying to STOP voting from happening. This needs to change!!

      Of course the problem with all these efforts is they come too late. The deadline for DMV issued photo IDs is December 12. Voter registration ends on October 9. If all these outreach efforts by the state had come sooner, they might have helped. However there have been many groups and churches in Phillie working overtime to register voters and get proper ID.

      I like Oregon’s vote by mail system. No waiting in lines. You can send it in when you get it or wait awhile till election night. You can send it in the mail or take it to the county courthouse drop box or take it in yourself. The forms are online and at post offices and libraries. I could access it on computer and change my party registration online but needed to print it off and send in with signature.

    CHART: Who Really Cuts Medicare?
    Both the Ryan Plan and the Affordable Care Act make cuts to Medicare. But only one cuts Medicare benefits.

    The chart above explains simply that the cuts to the cost of Medicare, that are included in Obamacare, come from three places:
    Medicare Advantage payments – This cut from the cost of Medicare is the Federal government not paying a private company to do what Medicare can do.

    Hospital reimbursement rates – This cut to the cost comes from the Federal government not having to pay hospitals for the people using the ER as primary care. Since most everyone will have insurance, the government will no longer need to reimburse the hospitals.

    Everything Else – This slice to the cost of Medicare is a group of cuts to smaller programs, like the Medicare Disproportionate Share Payments, that will become unnecessary as most Americans gain health insurance.
    Yes, the Affordable Care Act cuts the COST of Medicare by saving American taxpayers $716 billion. But you can search that chart all you want. You’ll never find anywhere the ACA – Obamacare – cuts the benefits of Medicare users.

    Welp, it’s official. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have decided to run on a campaign of “We’re totally going to fix shit, but we’re not going to tell you how because if we do, we might lose and we don’t wanna lose because if we lose how will we take your money and give it to rich people?” (It’d be funny if about half the country weren’t going to vote for them, while the other half struggles to figure out in the next 82 days whether Republicans will even allow them to vote.)
    The Obama campaign, on the one hand, has got all these different tools that you can use to figure out how Obama’s policies will affect you: as a woman, for example, (The Life of Julia) or as a taxpayer (you can calculate your tax rate with his nifty tax calculator).
    Romney and Ryan, on the other hand, have no nifty tools—Whiteboard of Fail, notwithstanding—and are willing to tell voters exactly two things: Jack and Shit.

    This has likely been posted but for anyone who hasn’t seen it—–an important read about these scummy birther swiftboaters. Think politicususa is right that this whole smear job is an attempt to stop the Obama campaign from reminding voters of one of PBO’s great accomplishments, getting bin Laden. These are disgusting human beings. I hope PBO keeps mentioning it as he did this week in Iowa, as one of the promises made to the American people and a promise kept.

        I actually signed up on Youtube and posted that the creators of this video had ties to Republicans and one of the funders was a self-admitted birther…my comment went to “pending approval” I will check back tomorrow and see if it got posted.

        I also believe that the number of views is artificially inflated (there’s likely some paid operation behind the Youtube popularity).

    I listened to a conference call this afternoon. It was for OFA donors from the last election and this one.The president emphasized the need for everyone to dig deeper as he said and contribute as much as you can even up to the $2500 maximum. The need for the contributions is now so air time can be booked and more offices opened. The Romney campaign is awash with money and OFA can’t keep up. The president said he’s been outspent before but the gap can’t be too large. So bottom line, we need to step up to the plate and give. I really sensed a degree of urgency.

      Done, I was going to contribute a big chunck this month and got a call from the campaign and donated over the telephone and will send more before the end of the month. I told the guy that I contribute alittle to several other OFA donors as well and they were very grateful. I planned to be on the call but I was working on something and the time got away from me.

      When my deadline is reached the end of this month, I am non-stop phone banking for PBO re-election and local democratic races as well.
