I surely hope that LOD just showed Gallup’s polling showing a 1 point bump for Bozo vs. 45% for PBO, to 1.) highlight only a 1 point bump and 2.) how lousy and biased Gallup is and that even their own nutjob poll made found no difference in favorables for Bozo.
I don’t pay gallup any attention. I look at the poll from the battleground states. I lost all favor with gallup months ago.

Chips, sometime after Labor Day, inspired by this video, I’ll send you a comment on why it is essential that the memory of John Lauber become, through the total rejection of #BullyMitt and those associated with him in any way, become a legacy of America that John Lauber’s fate inspired.
Now would be too early. But, sometime between Labor Day and early October just feels like good timing.
As you and many at TOD know, the perspective of the commentary will be that of an aged white male passionately dedicated to his wife of many decades.
What #BullyMitt did to John Lauber is very much why he could demonstrate at Stanford University in favor of the draft and then dodge the draft, because of Daddy, and live in luxury in Paris while MY classmates and friends DIED in Vietnam. It’s why he could pioneer outsourcing as a Corporate RAIDER and be proud, and ever more wealthy, by destroying the lives of countless Americans – all ONLY doable because he INHERITED great wealth from a father who worked in wheat and sugar beet fields from the time he was eleven – YES 11. George Romney’s pampered, patsy son NEVER suffered any discomfort, ever, but wrecked terror on John Lauber just because he was different.
This truly evil person – the only evil in the known universe being embodied in specific members of our species – must NEVER be President. That he selected an acolyte of the wretched Ayn Rand is totally consistent with how evil he is.

They were just so happy and thrilled to see each other. Thinking back on the days of the 2008 campaign, it must have been terrible to be apart for such long stretches. But now they are living together under one beautiful roof. The people’s roof!!

Queen Ann tried to say that Mitt was honest. I think if I wasn’t lying on the bed I would have hit the floor when she said that. I have never seen candidate for the office of the President lie as much as Mitt Romney does.
Yah, when her one complimentary comment is he is honest when he has lied about the last five ads he has produced with his name on it you know she is either lying too or so unaware it is pathetic.
I saw a clip of her today, and I’m gonna try to be nice, so let’s just say she gives me hard face. She practically scowled through an interview, Palin-style, and scowling is so…..unbecoming to her.

Good evening TOD Fam! Been a rough week. Have tried to keep up, however… I have at least read all of the front pages. A few times, I’ve fallen asleep while trying to post a comment; when I’ve awaken, you guys were 10 threads ahead! LOL!
FLOTUS’ visit here last week was OUTSTANDING! She and the crowd were FIRED UP! I volunteered at the FT Washington event. Long day, show time was 9:30 am; she took the stage around 3:30 pm; with traffic and a stop for dinner, we didn’t get home until around 8:00 pm. Needless to say, I was in bed all day on Friday. Saturday, I did my phonebank shift then it was back home to bed. Great news, I was able to get two copies of “American Grown” signed — I’m back on the “good daughter” list.

Romney also knows that Latino voters could tip the balance in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico, Nevada, and Virginia. And just today, Politico ran the latest numbers in an article on how Paul Ryan, who voted NO on DREAM and voted YES on the infamous Sensenbrenner bill (which sparked the massive marches of 2006), doesn’t help with Hispanics:
Obama’s lead over Romney among Hispanic voters in national polling hovers around and even above the 40 percent mark. Last month, a Latino Decisions survey showed Obama touching 70 percent of the vote and leading by 48 points. An NBC/Wall Street Journal/Telemundo poll conducted in late July found Obama taking 67 percent of Latinos to Romney’s 23 percent. The POLITICO/George Washington University Battleground Poll published Monday placed that lead at 62 percent to 26 percent.
Univision anchor Jorge Ramos framed the Republican dilemma in a tweet after the Ryan announcement: “How can [Paul Ryan] attract the Hispanic vote? If Republicans don’t get a third of the Latino vote they won’t get the White House back.”

I’m bias, FLOTUS was the star.
I felt AnnD rambled too much too often and didn’t always answer what was asked. I also got a sense of ‘us’ and ‘them’ from some of her answers, though that might have been because she strikes the wrong chord in me. I liked Elizabeth’s naturalness and Cindy didn’t seem all that credible to me when she was talking about how campaigning brought her and John closer together. Oh well.

In my very red district tonight, I took my hubby to the emergency room. I wore my “Barack Obama BackPack. I usually wear it on the front of my body, slip the straps over my arms and let hang in front of me.
There was another patient there, who kept smiling at me. I nodded and smiled back. After a while she motioned to me to come towards her. I obliged. Then she said to me, please tell me where you got your Barack Obama bag. She said I was just telling her, she pointed to another lady, ‘Look she has a Barack Obama Bag.” I told her my sister in Maryland had sent me the bag. I told her I also had a tote.
She really loved the backpack.
In this my read district, I never hesitate to carry my backpack or tote when I am going out. Makes for great conversation and sometimes some awkward looks. But who cares.

After I heard Ryan deflect a Medicare question about his own budget saying he was supporting Romney’s budget plan. I got to thinking WE need to know what his budget contains regardless since he would be #2. We deserve to know how he thinks and what he wants to do incase he would become the Prez. They are a team so we would be picking a team and need to know about both. (Of course I would never vote for them anyhow.)

While the Republican vice-presidential candidate is careful to avoid touching Medicare benefits for anyone at or near retirement, his budget would impose immediate cuts to Medicaid, the health-care program for the poor that funds nursing-home care and other benefits for 6 million U.S. seniors.
“It’s very easy to forget about these people,” said Howard Gleckman, a resident fellow at the Urban Institute, a Washington-based policy research group. “It’s a big, big cut.”

“They care about the votes of seniors who are not poor and they don’t care about the votes and the consequences to seniors who are poor,” Waxman said in an interview.
Health-care policy specialists say it’s politically easier to cut Medicaid because most voters don’t understand it.
“Most people have no clue what Medicaid means, especially to seniors,” said John Rother, president of the National Coalition on Health Care, a Washington-based group that promotes expanding health-care coverage while controlling costs.

The rise in prices is due to pipeline failures in IL and CA. that’s what we call ‘infrastructure’, people. Sitting on record profits during the worst recession since the Great Depression, and the great private sector shovels dividends to stockholders and lets the infrastructure that delivers energy to the American people crumble.
The private sector does NOT take care of anything, they do not build infrastructure. Only the government or a public/private partnership looks out for the common good.

I have watched more local tv this week than I normally am accustomed to and practically every single ad is a negative ad from the RNC. I must say this concerns me. I don’t think I have seen one DNC ad on tv, only web ads. I’m in the Va market so technically this is a battleground market. I think we are being strategic because of the funds. The other side can spend endlessly because of the millions pouring into that campaign by the billionaires and wall street operatives.
I am trying to heal tendinitis in my left foot so that I can go out and volunteer this weekend. We are recruiting volunteers for the campaign. It’s crunch time so I’m going to ramp up my involvement going forward.

First Axe heavily defended Biden as a great asset to this administration, and then he basically told them in essence that this is primarily media-driven, that all candidates have said and will say things that will send the media into a tailspin, and it’s a whole lot of NOTHING! Then he took a not-so-subtle dig at McCain’s “advice” to replace Biden with Hillary on the ticket!

He’s kept the discussion focused on Mitt’s missing tax returns and Ryan’s disastrous plans for the country. He hasn’t let them off the hook. Unlike his dimwitted colleagues. I also hope he keeps pushing those who were selected as moderators to do a better job.
