PBO looks like he’s really enjoying being out of the DC bubble. The last time he attended a state fair was during the summer of 2008. He always says he like to get out among people. Good for him but I hold my breath the whole time. I’m sure it drives the SS nuts. ha!

I can’t believe I missed that last speech. I’m setting an alarm on my phone for tomorrow with FLOTUS. Really don’t want to miss another.

Thanks for the pics ChipsChica and all the comments from everyone here. It makes me feel like I was there.

I’m telling you guys, the Romney camp is slowly coming more and more unhinged.

I know there has been a article about Obama personally not liking Mittens, but its with good reason, since ending the primary and even during them, Mittens camp lied and still blatantly lying on the stump, in interviews, and in paid advertising and actually boasting that they are indeed “misquoting” Obama.

Although I never notice any real dislike toward Obama on the surface, Obama unlike Romney tends to actually try to keep his supporters civil and tries to keep is comments above the petty, but Romney of course never does the same.

Mittens apparent disdain for Obama I just don’t understand the root of it even before Obama got into “campaign mode”. I know the usual suspects will say it’s because Obama a Dem, but reading what I’ve read about Mormons and African Americans I’m beginning to think it more nefarious.

Anyway, I don’t recall, Obama making any seemingly personal gibes at Mittens, but I don’t think the same can be said of Mittens.

    Here’s his latest:
    Romney Personally Slams Obama

“Angry and Desperate” hmm interesting choice of words doncha think?

I remember once saying that I hated Sarah Palin, but that’s not true, I did however have a strong dislike of her. I’m sorry, but I can honestly say that I cannot stand Mitt Romney. He has actually replaced my Sarah Pay-pay hatred.

I think the PBO campaign spokesman nailed it when he characterized Mittens reaction as “unhinged”. Perfect.

Time to start running ads again, go back on offense. I would say by the Morning, the ad wars will not be so Robney tilted. This week, their Team has outspent us 26 million, to 11 million.
    That cannot continue. Just saying.

      It’s def quality.

Case in point, that Joe Spotsik (sp?) from Priorities USA was never actually put into ad rotation right, it was seen more online and in free media than paid media.

The best thing about the O-camp is that they rarely if ever miss on their ads and they like to get the biggest bang for their buck. So I suspect that the ads will come, but only when they are perfected.

    I especially liked this comment:

We need to use this fact: that about 8 of 10 elderly people in nursing homes are on Medicaid and that the Ryan Budget cuts to Medicaid will throw most of them out of the nursing home . Need to nail the stinking carcass of the GOP to the wall and leave it there until it disintegrates. Maybe then it will reincarnate as something approaching human instead cannibals on the bodies of the poor & weak.

    • 89 57andFemale
      August 15, 2012 at 7:29 am

The Medicaid issue and seniors is EXTREMELY important, because that seriously impacts younger voters who might fall for the R&R b.s. about ‘saving’ Medicare for them.

Without federal support and requirements for Medicaid, the states are given their famous ‘choice’ and can make life a living hell for seniors AND THEIR CHILDREN who will have to decide between sending their children to college, buying a home, or taking care of their elderly parents. It’s a huge part of this story and the horrors of R&R&R (Republicans/Romney/Ryan).

HELLO, Sweet HZ:)! How are you? Aside from the people that make us crazy because they have no critical thinking skills, or are so damn selfish that we should barely call them human? If you can stand it, I think that you should RETURN to that group and talk some sense to them! They don’t get to have their own set of facts…if it makes you feel better, I had my Monday night phone bank last night. I called a 24 year old guy and asked if he still supported the President. He said, “Actually, no.” Well, that didn’t sit well with me, so I asked him why not….and he went on and on about the economy and he’s not getting anything done…blah, blah, blah. That was all the opening I needed! I asked him if he knew WHY nothing was getting done….and proceeded to explain to him the ways and where fors…basically schooled him on the inept, good for nothing congress….we actually had a great conversation. So much so, in fact, that I spoke to him for 45 minutes and barely made the calls I was supposed to make:) But by the end of the conversation, he thanked me and told me that he had learned a lot that he didn’t know. I shared some website with him (he had been reading World Net Daily for crying out loud!!!!) I told him NEVER to go to that wingnut, conspiracy theory shit trap again! By the end of our talk, I had gotten him to volunteer for PBO and to vote for the President, too:) It CAN be done…teaching one at a time. He was a good kid…

You’re very welcome for my little stumble upon info…I read about 14 hours a day…now that I’m back at work, I had to cut back to about 10 hrs…but knowledge is power:) Hope that you are feeling well and that things are good for you…think of you often and send good thoughts your way….hugs to you…and consider what I said…:) It’s good to push back if your blood pressure can take it…otherwise, their lies just feed on each other with no pushback.

OMG. I love the out of the box thinking! http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/obama-campaign-launches-djs-for-obama-20120814

In yet another sign that 2012 is truly the year of the DJ, Obama for America has launched a program entitled DJs for Obama – a reelection effort that calls upon top acts to voice their support of the incumbent. “I would never have imagined that my love for hip-hop, my love for music would allow me to get involved like this,” said DJ Cassidy, who was tapped by Barack Obama himself to spin at the President’s inauguration in 2009. “It’s very surreal.”

Cassidy was one of three particpating artists, including D-Nice and DJ Rashida, who took part in a conference call with journalists on Tuesday to promote the program. DJ Rashida, who has collaborated with the likes of Prince, said that with EDM culture at an all-time high the time is right for DJs to take center stage. “Our platform is to a lot of young people,” she explained. “Knowing myself as a young person, I didn’t really know what the power of my vote was. No one should underestimate the impact they can have.”

How long before Romney resurrects Lawrence Welk?

From this website: We forget… Here in America… +47 Years ago contraception was illegal in many states. +92 years ago women didn’t have the right to vote. +100 years ago women were not admitted to colleges because they were thought to be intellectually inferior to men. +150 years ago married women were not allowed to own property and today in many parts of the world they are property. +We got those rights… but now we have to defend them again! Stop the War on Women!

DF – I’ve been out all day in my world – it’s now 6pm and just wanted to mention that I find you an amazing advocate for your President. Spending 45 min to explain to 1 young man what is truth is wonderful – he will now pass it on to his friends so you have provided many many more votes for your man.

Outside of the US we are amazed that R & R get any support at all. Little things, like watching President Obama put himself at the same level as the children shows how he understands people – of all shapes, sizes and ages.

I love reading Chips and looking at all the pictures and links she finds & as my daughter would say “Bobfr is just awesome” – his tweets are amazing – as are those from all the folks on here. I love coming home and checking out how you are all working to keep the world safe – with President Obama in charge, we all can rest easy.

A conservative group just went up with a 5 million dollar buy in Florida and Ohio, criticizing what they call death panels in the HC Law.
They are using the 2010 demagogue crap.

I agree, but that is their plan, and in 2010 it worked.
2010 for me really sucked. We got Governor Scott because those are the only ads he ran down here- death panels.
Seniors scare easy and the Republicans will say anything to win.
That said, I would be shocked if the President donations ate not going through the Roof, as a result of this pick.

A VERY important thing that people need to know: if outside groups, super PAC’s, etc. (anything other than a campaign) put up lies, they are eligible for libel lawsuits, and so are the media outlets that run those ads. Letters to the local stations that carry those ads can be effective at getting them off the air.

I will find the website that gives all that information.

jovie141, the Supreme Court went through the Healthcare Bill, there was nothing about any death panels, so anyone with any sense is going to believe that a right wing leaning SC is going to uphold death panels. Come on.

Does anyone have the contact information for Google – an email address, phone number, twitter account or even a snail mail address. I believe they need to be confronted with that extreme pro-Republican bias in search results.

I typed in “Rick Santorum they will put you in chains called Obamacare” and ALL of the headlines on the first results page are about Joe Biden’s comment, with some articles referencing Santorum’s remarks but no direct links. Not one of the results headlines had Rick Santorum in the headlines.
