A Word from Tally: Election 2012 simplified – It’s All About The Supreme Court, Stupid

Link

 by Tally

For all the Purists, EmoProgs, anyone contemplating sitting this election out, those who are easily swayed by the TEAGOP(Koch)MediaPunditry™, (and friends & family of such who are at their wit’s end at their stubborn insanity), this is for you.

This is a simple election. Just ask yourself: DO YOU HATE CITIZENS UNITED?

The next President will nominate a minimum of three justices to the Supreme Court. (Perhaps five.)
If that’s Romney, we’re stuck with Citizens United and a Neocon SCOTUS for the next generation. And that would be just the beginning. They want to go back to appointing the Senate. Hell, they really don’t want anyone to vote.

Every American’s responsibility should be to STOP ROMNEY from being elected POTUS.
He will be more of a puppet than W ever was.

That means voting third party is NOT AN OPTION. Not until we have instant runoff elections.

I don’t care if you hate President Obama. Stop pretending Nader voters didn’t fuck the rest of the country (and the globe) in 2000, you whining toddler.

McSweeney’s explains perfectly: “The results were cataclysmic. In a year where a few thousand votes would have swung the election, George W. Bush was elected. Within two years, he had started two wars. These wars cost 137,000 civilian lives, 6,419 American soldiers’ lives (4,488 in Iraq and 1,931 in Afghanistan), cost upwards of $4 trillion, and put the country $15,904,628,648,096 in debt. He put together the most conservative Supreme Court in American history, and the world was thrown into the worst global recession in 79 years.”

Please read the rest of that brilliant piece here:

If you have a functioning brain stem, you must understand that Romney along with Norquist and the Koch Brother’s help will end our Democracy. It’s happening now with the GOP in Congress, who got there because a bunch of Progressives pouted, and stayed home.

And NO. They’re NOT THE SAME. NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Romney (via Norquist, Rove, Adelson, & Kochs) will:

Start a war with Iran (Sheldon Adelson has already paid for this.)
 …. Reinstate Don’t Ask Don’t Tell
…. Outlaw gay marriage, and try to outlaw gay adoption
…. Repeal Roe v Wade …. Attempt to outlaw (female) contraception/allow PHARMA to charge what ever they want for it …. End/close the CFPB …. Repeal Dodd Frank and go back to deregulated finance (that needs MORE regulation.) …. Repeal the ACA and make sure the NON-PROFIT exchanges which are set to destroy the current FOR-PROFIT Health Insurance Industry, never open …. Repeal Lilly Ledbetter Act …. Attempt to require prayer in schools
….. Make Creationism a requirement in public school curriculum …. End the EPA
…. End the Department of Education …. Starve our public schools even more than they already are
so they can PRIVATIZE the entire education system in the US …. Make ALL our Universities FOR PROFIT
 …. Privatize Medicare
 …. Privatize Social Security
 …. End Medicaid
…. End Unemployment Insurance …. End Food Stamps …. End Disability Insurance
 …. RE-Privatize Airport Security
(that allowed 19 men with box cutters to board 4 airliners.) …. Outlaw Labor Unions …. End the FDA …. Go back to ALL the Bush policies that destroyed the global economy …. Get rid of the Minimum Wage …. Make all 50 states Right To Work (for next-to-nothing)

It wouldn’t surprise me if they legalize rocket launchers via the NRA lobby. The list is endless.

A vote for ANYONE other than President Obama = a vote for Romney via the hackable e-voting
machines that can be flipped by remote. Third party votes won’t be watched, and can be siphoned off so simply (link)

GROW THE FUCK UP.

President Obama is more Progressive than half the Dems in Congress. Only SIX have ever voted to fund the closing of GITMO, even though President Obama signed an EO on his 2nd day in office.
http://www.politicususa.com/don’t-blame-obama-only-6-democratic-senators-voted-to-fund-closing-gitmo.html

And the GOP & BlueDogs wrote the NDAA and had enough votes to override a Presidential Veto, which is why President Obama wrote what he wrote in his signing statement (link).

If you’re going to whine about something, you’d better be certain you’ve got ALL the information, not just what some pundit, agency, or politician wants you to know (link).

If the GOP take control, this might be your last Presidential election. DO NOT STAY HOME. DO NOT PISS AWAY YOUR VOTE. The entire WORLD will be effected by it.

Did you know that the ad about the steel workers wife dying due to lack of insurance coverage because of him losing his job due to his company being bought out by Bain has never been aired anywhere? The super pac, Prosperity for America, only filmed it, never put it up in any form via any media outlet. What you’ve seen is it’s being shown repeatedly by the MSM on TV and their internet sites. This happens in reverse as well, but I thought that interesting. It does appear that much will be said about the guy also appearing in an Obama campaign ad.

        August 10, 2012 at 9:41 pm

Rachel said it on her show tonight, but I am not sure that it was not on internet. I thought it just was not on tv. They didn’t spend money to have it shown and it has gotten lots of attention, but Rachel said that the other approved Obama ad about taxes and Son of Boss is very damaging. She thinks they are screaming about the other one to keep attention from the tax one.

Priorities USA has released yet another new ad about Romney/Bain!

//” That plant was my life, I mean, my livelihood… It fed me as a kid and fed my whole family as an adult. I depended on that plant, and I felt like it depended on me. Romney and Bain, they were businessmen, they had no idea how to make steel. They knew how to make money. They used us just like we were the scrap steel that we melted, you know, we were just a means to an end.” //

I read on another blog that a Priorities USA spokesperson who was on the Ed Schultz radio show today said that they plan to keep releasing these ads every week, because “they had no trouble finding people like the guy in this ad and Joe Soptic” who had been negatively impacted by Bain Mitt’s shutting down companies or outsourcing. So as long as the ads are working, they will keep right on releasing them!

    ——————————————-
    Rafalca’s Olympic campaign ends
Ebeling, Ann Romney-owned dressage horse won’t be in top 18
Rafalca, a 15-year-old, German-bred mare, is co-owned by Mitt Romney’s wife Ann, and has inspired jokes and financial questions about how the Republican presidential candidate.

    http://www.nbcolympics.com/news-blogs/equestrian/rafalca-rides-tuesday-at-5-45.html

“.. .Romney said Rafalca had another “fabulous” ride and that she’s thinking of breeding the German-born mare. “It was wonderful. She was elegant and consistent again. We just love her.” She said that after Ebeling competes with Rafalca for another year or two, they might try to breed her.

One of the biggest secrets in the U.S. political campaign has been who Romney will select as his vice presidential candidate. With the Republican National Convention weeks away, some political reporters have been charting Rafalca’s progress in London to determine when Mrs. Romney might return to Washington, since her husband probably won’t announce his vice presidential pick without her at his side… “

Earl Gray · Top Commenter · Sr. Controls Consultant at Honeywell
    Dear Mr. Romney,
We have contacted you now several times regarding your missing tax returns for years ending 2000 through 2011. To date we have only received a partial return for year ending 2010 and a “projection” of taxes for year ending 2011. Unfortunately this is inadequate documentation to evaluate your financial history and allegiances, which are critical to understand your previous behavior.

Given the disappointing Swiss bank accounts and Cayman shell corporations that we have previously discussed, these documents are now critical to better understand your past financial background. This understanding is in turn required in order to make an informed decision regarding your capability to perform the financially sensitive position that you have applied for.

If you have recently released the tax returns for years ending 2000-2011, please accept our sincere apology and we will continue to evaluate your application. If however we do not receive your tax records for the years ending 2000-2011 , we regret that we will be unable to process your application, and unable to consider you for the position for which you have applied.

If this is the case, we want to send our appreciation for your effort and application and encourage you to reapply when you are better able to meet with our admittedly high standards.

    Thank You and Best Regards.

Oh ugh—-good ol’ Nate Silver is on with Smerconish subbing for Tweety pouring cold water on the recent encouraging Obama polls. He’s just not buying it, all those polls. He said it’s a 2 or 3 point Obama advantage, nothing explains the increasing margins. Rendell is now agreeing. They’re all in disbelief, saying with the economy Willard should be ahead, and they’re not having it. Now mentioning the little tidbit that people like Obama and not Willard as a possible explanation. (most important factor, by far, may be the only factor—my edit) Rendell is now giving Willard pointers for his convention speech so he can “convince the American people that his economic plan will work”. Rendell thinks a great speech will even things up for Willard, which seems to be his wish.

So to hell with Americans suffering, losing their jobs, their healthcare, their homes, the Republicans only concern was to block any and everything President Obama tried to do to make this economy stronger. True Americans aren’t they? They were willing to see this country go down.So when people what to talk how weak the economy is, look to the Republicans Party.

Our fearless twitter warrior, Bobfr, has been relentless in spreading the message of the traitors who tried to sabotage the government all in the interest of advancing their political agenda. Bob has been vindicated by the recent news about the 7 GOP senators who said the same thing to VP Biden. As far as I am concerned, people like Mitch McConnell and Eric Cantor are traitors. These people were elected to serve the interests of all Americans and not just the interests of a clique of right wingers.

So MSNBC and Smerconish’s Hardball decided that we all needed to see and hear from the most unappealing Jennifer Rubin? Gross. And this whole program is geared to how best to get Willard elected. That’s the whole gist of this entire hour—–if Willard does this, he will win the election, if he doesn’t he won’t and how conservatives hate Obama and will show up in droves to vote no matter what Willard does and says. Another round of recent polls are wrong comments. This whole hour is a complete waste. Now D.L. August 10, 2012 at 10:55 pm

I second that anniebella. It is so interesting that these same “small thinking” men and women who did not even know who our president was before 2008 and hardly paid attention in 2004( because many where not interested in John Kerry) but now they have the ugly nerves to speak and try to write books about POB. These books that are worth worth crap in many cases.

However, POB has the last great card, he has already made history, doing a great job, especially with the shit that W left him, and POB will write his own books about his own truth of his presidency. Now that is the shit that will shut all of them up. I love my president.

These amateurs are worthless with their crap being spewed all over tv. These people Do Not Know POB. Trust me. We know the real people who actually know POB. They are the ones who do not have their faces pasted on every tv show in America. Real friends speak truth and they speak it with grace and digiity.

When I see “those people” speaking and writing, I will listen and read their books. Otherwise, use the pages of these otherrs with their crap books to clean your toilet seats or whatever parts of your toilets you might be interested in cleaning.

Now, I am tired as a tick, phone calls today, some good, and some I just had to move on, but that just gets me closer to the finish line with a victory on Nov. 6, 2012, for our beautiful president. FORWARD. Now I must drink 6 ounces of wine and read a little and go to bed.

Good polling for Pres Obama, means doubling down, tripling down or more to go NEGATIVE on pres Obama. The media has been trying their level best to Help Romney out.

But like in 2008, the American people saw McCain and then Palin and said NO. Today, Americans have seen Romney and Ann and they are slowly walking away with their feet. I told my family in 2011. That the 2012 elections would Not be close. I am now willing to go public. I hope that Romney gets Trumped.

Well MSNBC is pissed that Obama declined to sit down with them for interview. I don’t blame PBO. MSNBC has spent a lot of time and effort undermining this President’s over the last 3 years under the guise of being a “liberal” network. From the early morning anti-Obama propaganda of Morning Joe at 7AM right through the incoherent angry rants of Dylan Rotigan at 4PM, this network has invested quite a bit in tearing down PBO. And now it seems as though their guy BainMitt is just not resonating with voters, despite the efforts of Chuck Todd, Rendell, Halperin, Morning Joke, Andrea Mitchell, Alex Gagner, et al., they’re in panic mode. So I expect to see a lot of nastiness from MSNBainCapital from now through Nov 6 (and beyond, if PBO wins).

      • August 10, 2012 at 8:26 pm

        Couldn’t agree with you more.

Tweety parroted Morning Joe last night, declaring that neither campaign addresses the issues (!?!?!), exactly what Joe said earlier. But of course Joe adds how poorly Obama does as a campaigner.

It’s as if MSNBC is doing everything they can to NOT see even a hint of what makes PBO a great president in extremely challenging times.

Heaven forbid, if PBO is not re-elected in November, the blame will rest solely on the media, and mostly on MSNBainCapital (love that name). Everyone except for the 20% dead-enders know that Fox News is the propaganda arm of the GOP.

But for the media not to even acknowledge that PBO is consummate politician (really, what pol on either side even comes close) and that he has an eye for PR/media talent is dereliction of duty. And to focus on PBO’s nuance versus R-money’s daily outright lies takes my breath away.

If there’s one thing this election has accomplished, it is to forcefully demonstrate how piss-poor our media is.

And yes, I’m disappointed in Nate Silver. Back when he was Poblano on dKos, I fondly recall a post where he was SUPER excited to catch a glimpse of PBO at a Chicago (I think) restaurant.

But man, he’s a downer. I’ve stopped following those young’uns that used to be refreshing and now just sound self-righteously smug.

    D. L. Hughley wants Obama to be more like Clinton. Inane chatter about Clinton is more a “black guy” than Obama—-was more of a “hustler”—-went back to work after being fired. Just idiotic stuff. What a waste of air time. Utter stupidity.

Yes, be more like Clinton. The man who couldn’t keep his pants zipped and nearly handed his GOP rivals his presidency on a platter. Got impeached in the House, couldn’t avoid a gov’t shut down, finished off Glass Steagall, and implemented “welfare reform”. Not to mention DOMA and his compromise that got us DADT. Yep, lets have Pres.Obama be that guy.

D.L. Hughley is a hustler!. President Obama has not been good for hustlers of all stripes. That’s why they hate him. From all the pics shown on this site, President Obama is good and comfortable interacting with children. At the same time, the President expects adults to act like adults when it comes to addressing critical issues. People like D. L. Hughley have yet to overcome their childish ways.

I’m so disappointed in DL Hughley for going with the bash-Obama crowd to just sell his book. Disgusting. He does a comedy bit on Tom Joyner’s radio show twice a week. Tom LOVES PBO. He would not be happy to hear about this. Somebody outta tweet @TJMShow and let him know about how one of his “contributors” went on mainstream media and dissed the President.

The most frightening thing re. this election is all the voter suppression that is going on in what looks to be every state with a Republican governor. I know there are people on the case, but the response seems sluggish and too slow and ineffective to me. It’s an outrage, a democratic outrage. Ohio is up to their same disgusting tricks, Fl. is a mess, Ia. has even begun a voter purge etc.—-all the key states. This was the only worthwhile segment on Hardball—-saying that we may have a real crisis on our hands with this election, one that will make hanging chads look like child’s play.

Lots of others have discovered there’s lots of money to be made with this “courageous stand”—-lots of TV appearance invitations, lots of book sales. You just have to be willing to stoop that low, have no decency or common sense.

Chris Christie comes to town: https://twitter.com/#!/brianmrosenthal/media/slideshow?url=pic.twitter.com%2FmEZOsZQK This amuses me. Chros Christie came to Seattle to hold a fund-raiser unity rally to support the Republican candidate for Governor of WA, Rob McKenna. The press touted it as a very big deal and there would be other big name Governors to follow to help McKenna. HA! Hardly anyone showed up to see Christie. Plus McKenna (practically a household name in WA) was supposed to get the most votes in the primary for that very reason, got his hat handed to him by Inslee. Republican participation in this week’s primary was very depressed and Independents showed a preference for Democrats straight across the board. Thing of beauty.

    • August 10, 2012 at 8:07 pm

I’ve had a very big smile on my face, neighbor, since Tuesday evening – especially the Inslee outcome, and the obvious deep apathy of WA GOPers 🙂

Tien, I love you guys in Washington. In 2010, Chris Christie came to California to push for Meg Whitman. He tried his bully tactics but Californians told him to go shove it. O.K., may be some of the jokes about the rotunda NJ governor were a tad cruel. In any case, Christie quickly found out that Californians do not suffer bullies lightly.

WOW I just read the Charles Pierce piece – not to mention the supporting comments – many more than usual – It is so nice to read the truth that is not followed by a blaze of racist hate filled comments. The use of the word “uppity” so describes the scant praise that so many pundits who write about the President don’t say – but absolutely mean – I like that Charles puts it out there in full sight.

As it becomes more and more obvious that he is going to win – the racism will become more and more obvious and I will enjoy seeing those using such ideas go down in flames. The GOP couldn’t find a sane, reasonable, intelligent person to run against the President – which surely highlights the fact that all the sane, reasonable, ordinary people are voting for PBO.

And on another note – I wonder if all the hate legislation directed against women by state legislatures is the result of white old men trying to get revenge against those who voted for a black man for President – they use their hatred against those less able to fight back.

I am so satisfied with today’s events. The fact that Joe Biden knew this before PBO was sworn in, puts the LIE to what emogs have been saying about their ability to ‘comprehend’ the nature of the rethugs. This proves what we have understood all along. He did his best with what he was given, and he did it better than anyone else could have. God, i love that man. And that Joe guy too. I was pretty stunned to read that Politico article about republicans speaking at the democratic convention. I don’t know what to believe. I wonder if the document obtained by Mr. Allen is just some preliminary draft or something more serious and definite…

Anyway, the article of The Atlantic Wire is not very serious IMO. Spector has lost credibility, Arnold has been tainted by scandal, Snowe will NEVER go to a democratic convention.

I can see Chuck Hagel as a possibility. His name has circulated for cabinet positions in the Obama administration. He has tremendous respect for Barack Obama. And he has given up on his party I think.

It’s truly puzzling. Cabinet positions are extremely important, the “face” of the admin and crucial to rolling out major policy shifts. I just don’t see PBO making appointments as a favor, especially for someone like Maria Schriver, to whom he owes nothing.

Repub Ia. Sec. of State has reassigned a criminal investigator to new role of purging voter roles of Dem voters. He says he’s already identified 2000-3000 fraudulent registrations, which seems to be in dispute. Even other repubs are questioning this effort, said Ia. has always had clean elections, and doubt any real voter fraud. But the sec. of state is saying citizenship will be questioned, people will be referred for prosecution, scaring people. This is absolutely disgusting —–what all these Repubs are doing in these battleground states. I just listened to Rachel’s segment on all the just unbelievable changes in Ohio—-giving Repub counties extra days and times to vote and restricting the same in Dem counties. They did similar in ’08 where they limited voting machines in Dem areas and Repub locations were amply stocked. This is just unbelivable to me that this horror is going on. Can’t there be an injunction or some legal step to stop this? I don’t think any of this is getting enough attention. Time’s a wasting.

They really have no shame – Mitt can’t win – so we’ll see if we can remove the right to vote for those who would vote against him. Both the feds and the Democrat resources are being wasted having to fight such activities as this. Just look at this remark

“They’ve compared the voters in Iowa’s 2010 election against names of voters from 14 other states in the same election to see if individuals voted multiple times” If they DON’T find a match the name would be so unique as to probably be invented for fraudulent reasons. They are paying someone to be this dumb??
