And as soon as I turn my head, Chips posted a new thread and places vc’s prize at the top of the thread! Not fair! I’m going to complain to PBO about this…

Romney was a bully, is still a bully. Ann Romney thinks the Presidency is owed them. Remember how Willard dismissed pres Obama when asked by Diane Sawyer if he had a massage for the president? Romney said, Start Packing. The expression on Diane Sawyer’s face was priceless. In the same interview, her Majesty, Ann, told Diane Sawyer that “it’s Mitt’s Turn. It is our Turn”. Then with Robin Roberts, we became, YOU PEOPLE.

President Obama has selected Colin Powell to lead a presidential delegation to Jamaica to attend a celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence.

Powell, who served as secretary of state during the Bush administration, is the child of Jamaican immigrants. He endorsed Obama in 2008 but has yet to support him in 2012. He said in May that he has known Mitt Romney “for many years, good man.”

Other members named to the delegation to Jamaica are Pamela Bridgewater, U.S. ambassador to Jamaica; and Rep. Yvette D. Clarke, (D-N.Y.). The anniversary celebration will be held in Kingston on Monday.

    That’s cool!

Anyone who can still call Mitt a “good man” after witnessing his mendacity, bullying, ugliness, has to be seriously lacking in judgement. And given the fact that Powell was a member of the Bush Admin, is still a proud member of today’s Republican party after the attacked him and have attacked the man who had the guts to run for President (after Powell wimped out) – that’s not someone I can still respect.

  13. August 2, 2012 at 7:51 pm

Hey all, a little preview of my new TPV piece:

In this election season, the Democrats have become something they haven’t been in decades: disciplined. Harry Reid does nothing without careful thought. His bringing up the idea that Romney didn’t pay taxes for ten years wasn’t done cavalierly. Barack Obama, obviously, does nothing without careful consideration. You have to be pretty talented to defeat both Hillary Clinton and John McCain, all while being black. His campaign’s attacks have unfolded methodically, at times of his choosing, dealing the most severe blows. The pundits and Democratic “insiders” like James Carville may whine; but they do so because they’re no longer insiders. This is Obama’s show now, and he gets to choose the cast. And the show’s synopsis is neutering the GOP for a generation.

I have no doubt about it. Yes, money is important and keeps thousands of advertising people in their jobs but it is not everything. The crowds are a BIG clue. PBO draws huge, ecstatic crowds. Mittens makes very, very few public appearances — or at least appearances that aren’t heavily scripted. So far, PBO’s people are running a campaign that will be studied in future poly sci classes. The timing is exquisite. The announcing of the keynote speaker at the DNC, just when Mittens was making teeny-tiny appeals to hispanics. I look forward to whatever they still have up their sleeves.

Until I got to the New Beginnings camp identifier. Then I was just sad. You can read about the “miracles” (trickery) happening there—–how on one of the first days after this church opened its doors the paralyzed guy got our of his wheelchair and walked for the first time!—–and right in front of the TV cameras!!! You can learn the secrets of how this church promises to heal “all infirmities and sicknesses”—-for the bargain price of $12.95 for the good pastor’s book, drastically reduced from reg. price of $24.95——-or the CD set for $29.95, reduced from $49.95. Or if these aren’t sufficient, there’s a long, long list of CD selections which promises to cure what ails you—-and take your money. Taking advantage of people.

        • 106 dotster3
          August 2, 2012 at 8:58 pm

I was just reading that. Hmmmmm. So John King and David Gergen have paired up to defend Bain and Willard/Bain, as if their lives depended on it. And now King’s divorced wife, Dana, has a “credible source” on the Reid accusation. I’m wondering if her source was an unwilling, unwitting ex-spouse, something he told her once upon a time. And she’s making a power play, in more ways than one. Inter-esting. We shall see. I don’t think she’d blab that she had a credible source unless she could name him/her if need be.

          • 107 dotster3

Cheney sat there spitting out lie after lie about our President and King just half-smiled and nodded in agreement. I turned the tv off before the interview ended; I have not watched CNN since – 3+ years. I don’t miss it. I have been active on several blogs before and since then and have read and seen how others have slowly but persistently started calling CNN out for what they really are, especially people like John King.

Congress is out for 5 weeks, Romney is a disaster of his own making, etc.; the MSM really has no excuse for not investigating who will be eligible to vote in November.

Today I stumbled upon @NABJdigital (National Association of Black Journalists) which was live-tweeting from the UNITY Convention
(UNITY: Journalists, Inc. is a coalition of the four alliances, the Asian American Journalists Association, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the Native American Journalists Association and the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association) being held in Las Vegas now, and was alarmed by the situation facing our First Citizens (Native Americans):

Did anyone beside me catch Michael Dyson on the Ed were he was talking about what some black people were saying about Gabby Douglas hair. I can not believe what I was hearing, here this young black girl have accomplish something great and all black people can talk about is Gabby’s hair. What the hell is wrong with some people? There are ALWAYS ignorant people who will make stupid comments, regardless, which is why I’m surprised that Dyson featured those ignoramuses (who should be ignored) on his show .

Unbelievable. I caught some of her acts here via some sports channel and she was fantastic.

Peeps from US should hammer dyson for such stupidity. Call his office and complain directly.

I would like to see who is talking about her hair. No one gives a rats ass. She is an amazing young lady, is talented and has a personality that could light up a room.

I am glad I missed that segment. Somethings are not worth giving a voice and this was one of them. That is why I can hardly wait for Ed to come back. And that says a lot because I couldn’t stand Ed given his history telling folks not to vote in 2010.

Dana Bash, Sam Stein and Howard Fineman have Sources, credible Witnesses and Dogs and Ponies, that say Reid has Credible Sources that says Robney is a Liar about His taxes.

And this took that long to INVESTIGATE?

Just saw on twitter that President Obama and I are exactly alike. We both worked at Dairy Queen in high school! Footlongs and hot fudge sundaes were big at my Queen. And I found out recently that I have not lost my talent for placing that little curly q at the top of the cones! Impressive! Wonder if President Obama has also retained that special skill! Bet he has!

I agree that this should not become the “story” NOW. The child has won a hard earned and historic victory on so many levels (not just as a first AA, but as first US medalist in women’s individual all around AND Team), and that should be the story, not what some ignorant folks are saying about her hair.

I do recall some unkind and ignorant remarks being made about gymnast Shaun Johnson being “too thick” or “too fat” during the 2008 Olympics, so there are always a bunch of resentful and ignorant folks making comments. These folks should be dismissed.

For pete’s sake what was wrong with Gabby Douglas hair. These people who have nothing better to do then criticize that young girl are all a bunch of S.O.B. Forgive my English. Bravo to Gabby

My daughter was at the campaign in Orlando today. This event was scheduled prior to the Colorado shooting which was cancelled. She was waited a little over three hours before she got in. While waiting she kept texting me.

She had a wonderful time and was close enough to see the President and take pictures. Unfortunately she did not get a chance to shake his hand as everyone wanted to.

About the baby above, she said she saw this baby being passed overhead and people was actually lifting the baby toward the President. The parents were two to three feet behind her and they were shouting “pass the baby to the President” . . . it was hilarious.

She said the President is very handsome and that smile really is addictive!

    • August 2, 2012 at 9:46 pm

      Very cool!

That is the cutest baby – that smile! She knows she’s in the middle of something great and exciting. What a doll!

After his speech, he surveyed the scene, couldn’t find a way down and then just hopped off the runway. Cute to see a line of Secret Service agents hopping down after him. He’s never at a loss to solve problems.

OMG, that little baby is SUPER DUPER CUTE!!! Phone banked tonight and had an old man say that the only thing PBO has done was save some cars with messed up batteries. I laughed at him!! Right in his ear! He was nice though and he ended the call by saying we have different opinions and it was nice talking to you. I was still laughing when I said bye.

there is something deeply wrong with republicans and these changes in voting laws. how can they look themselves in the mirror? they don’t care how they win, whether by hook or by crook. dirty bastards. I’m telling you, these are the last dying gasps of the GOP. They will not stand to fight another day. they’ve gone too far. it’s like they’ve lost their humanity. now they are just crass, greedy, base, core-less bastards.

Couldn’t agree more, Lisa. At today’s summary hearing in the PA Commonwealth Court, it was obvious the Republicans aren’t even trying anymore. The argument comes down to ” we’re making life difficult for voters because we can.” Too bad if it hurts people.

I know, and I see a few fellow TODObots who need to come on over at least to silver, then all of us on to Gold! But I just read through the official rules, and am kinda sad, coz I don’t have Twitter and it says PBO will send out 3 Tweets to 3 people on Twitter… Then it goes on to say how the final winners will be picked, and notified. But I read it all 2x, and still don’t see what the prize is! Am I just too tired or something? (I don’t really care, actually, what the prize is, but it would be cool to have my image used in the campaign if they want!)

So, how fun! OFA just launched a medal placing for FR pages, and I am delighted to see TOD (YOU CHIPSTICKS) is leading by a wide margin with 29 gold, not far behind her is our own DD4O, with 17 gold… Very proud to say, I have placed (lower) in silver, with 4 donations, but we all know that will change, right?! I only need three more to get into the Gold Medal winners column! Anyone like to give me a hand up!? WooHoo!
