Uh hello
Congrats and hello back atcha.
Hey Edwina – congratulations on first! Speedy fingers… 🙂
Do VC and Roberta know about this edwina3? Good on ya’! 😆
I’m told VC is weaning herself gradually in preparation for an upcoming week and a half where she might have to go cold turkey, what with little ones around. We’ll see.
Oh, hello Edwina! Would you mind sharing your pic with Yardarm? 🙂
Of course share away. Love this pic of the Divine Michelle. Also been waiting to post this Patton Oswalt video on the history of being first
That picture reminds me of that old song by Karen Carpenter, “Close to you”, with all the little bugs flying around him. Even the little bugs and birds want to be close to President Obama! 🙂
🙂
Hope he has a fun visit with even more wonderful Obama supporters!!
🙂
And since I am all checked in at work (high security building), tea is poured, guess I will get to it! Bye everyone, love y’all!
But first, I LOVE THAT PHOTO OF PRESIDENT OBAMA! MmmmMmmmMmmmm! 🙂
It’s a touch pleasant Pamela! Added a third one, highly lovely too 😉
Oh man. How I love those pics of the President in the rain.
😆
Ann Romney’s horse fails to win dressage but avoids offending British
Rafalca, owned by Mrs Mitt Romney, was impeccably behaved and well received by Olympic equestrians in Greenwich
http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/aug/02/ann-romney-horse-dressage-medal?newsfeed=true
At least one Romney is fit to be let out in public!
The Guardian is too funny!!! I had no doubt that Rafalca would behave, after all she probably would prefer to stay in London rather that having to spend time with Mittens.
Ha, true Theo!!! Maybe the horse should be running for the Presidency??
😀 😀
Hahahahahaha….
The Willard’s will never be able to set foot in the UK again.
And if they do Bill, people will just point and laugh!
Stephen Colbert took dressage lessons from the guy who is the head if the Olympic team, this one of the most hilarious bits that Stephen has ever done:

http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/417193/july-31-2012/stephen-s-dressage-training-pt–2
I was actually in tears of laughter when I saw that Edwina, funniest thing EVER!!!!!
Me too, love me some Stephen Colbert , the sexiest man alive IMO
You could get in trouble with that kind of talk around these parts, Edwina… 😉
Thanks for posting Part 2:) Hilarious…must see!
Some say that Rafalca probably doesn’t enjoy his/her pampered lifestyle. I don’t know, what horse wouldn’t want to wake up every morning to a new braided hairdo, dressaged up in the latest fashion, high steppin’ all the way to the air conditioned barn, to be fed golden oats. I kid, but I’m still trying to figure out why this is an Olympic sport. It’s the only one where animals are judged on performance, rather than a human being. Even it it’s ridden by a person, it’s still what the horse does that gets the score. Something’s wrong with that picture. I think if it’s going to be a sport, it should be done before or after horse racing events or during half-time of a rodeo.
I still think Rafalca and Seamus are plotting for the great escape, where Seamus is able to get Rafalca to the safe house in the witness protection system. Seamus is currently working as a guide dog. Rafalca will be undercover as a horse on the merry-go-round.
“What horse wouldn’t want to wake up every morning to a new braided hairdo, dressaged up in the latest fashion, high steppin’ all the way to the air conditioned barn, to be fed golden oats”
Cookemom, I’m going to sue you, my screen is entirely covered in orange juice spray. 😆
Dogs against Romney completely agrees that thr Romney’s are animal abusers.
This is Ann Romney on a horse named “Super Hit,” who had the misfortune of falling into their cold, cruel hands. Super Hit was sold by the Romneys for $125,000 in 2008. After the sale, the new owners discovered the horse was physically incapable of performing dressage. They consulted Dr. Stephen Soule, veterinarian for the United States Equestrian Team. Dr. Soule found that Super Hit, at the time he was sold by the Romneys, had a staggering amount of painkillers in his system.
http://www.dogsagainstromney.com/2012/08/romneys-olympic-horse-rafalca-ridden-by.html
Seamus probably would sneak back onto the estate and drug Super Hit just to put him out of his misery. Super Hit was begging for mercy and Seamus, knowing what he was going through, brought in the drugs to do the deed. Seamus was hatching an escape plan for Super when the poor thing was sold right out from under him. Of course Seamus can’t be caught on the compound, or it’s lights out for him. They wouldn’t want him talking to the press. Seamus is now turning his attention to freeing Rafalca.
I love your imagination, cookemom!
thanks for posting this. i was searching for the link last week, and all the places it had been posted had taken it down–no trace of this story! i think it is one of the most important pieces of info we have on the rmoney attitude towards anyone and anything not serving them.
The USA team never had a chance against the Brits and Germans…but the horse IS gorgeous. (Actually, all the horses are gorgeous.) None of the commentators (in Canada) mentioned Rafalca’s unfortunate choice of owners.
And, for those of you who have not yet seen Ms Maddow’s segment on just how big #BainMitt’s tax, dodge and lie tour is, be sure to view the segment at the bottom of the link in these tweets …
Rachel’s piece was excellent. I posted on the last thread…should be required viewing
LUNCH BREAK!!!
I’m coming up for air. I have to share this with you all.
This morning driving into work I had on one of the syndicated Black Radio stations. On comes a campaign ad for the President. It started with “I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message”. Lord Have Mercy the man has the sexiest voice ever. Forever me I digress. So the ad starts with a section of the Inaugural address: “On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.” Then it goes on the say that on that very night the Republicans gathered in DC to plot the Presidents failure and that they have been disrespecting the President since he took office. At this point I’m high-fiving the steering wheel and yelling, Oh Yeah Tell It!!! 🙂
It goes on to have McConnell’s voice saying that his number one priority is to make sure that President Obama is a one-term President. Then it directs the listening audience to go register to vote at gottavote.com and ask that they continue to “Have President Obama’s Back”.
I’m telling you it was a great radio ad for that targeted audience and honestly I loved to see this one on tv.
That is all!
Now back to work 😦
That is awesome Donna! There must be many “under-the-radar” ads running on radio stations across the nation.
Yesssss! ‘That’ is more than all, DD4O!! Thank you, thank you for sharing! Have a good day at work! I’m totally confused as to when you are heading out – how is your daily challenge going and have you posted the link for today already?

Yikes the mic is live.

Bob, what’s the latest on Aleppo?
Lots of melting ASSad steel …. we should know more in 12 hours or so, LL …
Very clever bunch. aren’t they ?
Hilariously so!!! 😀 😀 😀
Annan resigns as UN Syria envoy
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-19099676
Hi amk,
As noted in previous thread …
That Louisville slugger photo was a message to lots of folk ….
I see Rubio did the pre-buttal in Orlando, with all kinds of hilarious false charges against President Obama. Did you know that only Willard believes in “the miracle of free enterprise” and that Obama is “old world” and that Willard will make a marvelous president because he makes “good decisions” —–yikes!!! I think they should have stuck with driving around honking. It would have been more effective.

‘they should have stuck with driving around honking’ 🙂
HA! Twitter’s general counsel apologizes for suspending Reporter Guy Adams’ twitter account. Exactly right. They really had no grounds for suspending it in the first place.
http://www.insidecounsel.com/2012/08/02/twitter-gc-apologizes-for-suspending-reporters-acc?ref=hp?utm_source=ic&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=icscoopenews
LOL! The reporters are acting like little kids waiting to get into Disneyworld 🙂
They have no idea that the mike is open… WOW!!! “Shane is tall. I don’t have any problems outta Shane. Everybody else does”
Poor Shane.
Glad the frigging dem cats are finally being herded on ACA.
If you’re reading this, SPOILER ALERT for the next post that follows this one about the Olympic women’s gymnastics results. Close your eyes and scroll past it, if you don’t want to know the outcome.
It’s about time these Dems start messaging about ACA. The only Dem I ever consistently see on Twitter is Nancy Pelosi. Where are the rest of them? Especially in these last months of the election. Isn’t every member of the House also up for re-election in November? Where are the Dem Senators who are up for re-election – the only peep I heard out of Diane Feinstein was her allegation that the White House was leaking confidential information. Where are the Dems?
Gabby just won the women’s all-around gymnastics gold!
Was following tweets from Des Moines Register—–didn’t know whether to post a spoiler alert. But it’s pretty hard to ignore, since already posted everywhere. Said the whole place was cheering wildly for her. Should be exciting to watch.
Wow!!!!! That is wonderful!!!!!!!
Yes she did! I watched the whole thing live. Just couldn’t wait for NBC delayed tonight to find out. 🙂
YAY!
GOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLD!!!!
The Flying Squirrel Hit GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLD.
Congratulations, Gabby!
GO GABBBY!!!! YESSSS!!!!
Here comes AF1!!
AF1 Landing.
I don’t care how many times I’ve seen it, I LOVE TO WATCH Air Force One land!! I’m just like a little kid!! 😀 😀
This terrifies me!!!! http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-08-02/kochs-take-tip-from-soros-investing-in-voter-registration.html
Koch Bros and voter registration should NEVER BE IN THE SAME SENTENCE!!
As with everything else the Kochs have done this cycle, it’ll turn to ashes.
I hope so, LL. I hope so.
Gunnite folks.
Not to worry, Seamus has prepared a safe house for Rafalca. He’s working on the details. He’ll strap a parachute to him and as soon as the plane takes off for home, Seamus will free him from the roof of the plane and they’ll jump, hoof and paw to safety.
Anyone remember the kids’ movie “Spirit” , a heartwarming story about a horsey that broke free, gained his “freedom”. It was a fave in our house and “Run Spirit Run” became a fave rallying cry. Run Rafalca Run!
I absolutely love that movie!
Why is Karl Rove and his SuperPac American Crossroads always violate federal campaign laws?
SuperPacs can’t coordinate with campaigns.
It’s against the law.
Rove, Gillespie hosting joint political briefing in Aspen
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/08/02/first-on-cnn-rove-gillespie-hosting-joint-political-briefing-in-aspen/
It’s disgusting that he get away with this over and over again.
WOW..see grown-ups act like kids who waited all year to sit on Santa’s lap 🙂
IF you’re talking about Air Force One and PBO…. Damn skippy!!
JUST LIKE a little kid!!!
That’s what I’m talking about 🙂 🙂
Hi Everyone! Hope you’re all having a fabulous day! Just snuck in to say one thing:
GABBY DOUGLAS RULES!!! 😀 😀 😀
USA USA USA
Okay, that’s two things.
*cough* ahem, where did you watch the Olympics live? My link got snatched…
If you have Comcast cable provider, you can livestream from NBCSports. If you have a different provider, there are other options they give you. They also provide schedules for all the other games.

I loved how the President counseled Gabby D to ‘keep at it and stay cool’. Ha! She won! Black power baby.
Since Gabby moved to Iowa to train a few years ago, the state has adopted her as a temporary Iowan. She gets tremendous coverage in the Des Moines Register: http://www.desmoinesregister.com/ Not quite the same as when Iowan Shawn Johnson was in the Olympics, but we’ll take it! 😆
I really like their approach lol….and it’s the truth
Ben LaBolt @BenLaBolt
.@MittRomney has a plan for the middle class. He’s going to raise your taxes.
From Stephanie Cutter:
…Romney says he’ll pay for tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires by closing tax deductions and other tax benefits. But he’s not talking about loopholes like the ones that benefit the wealthiest Americans, like himself. He’s talking about taxing the health insurance people get from their employers, and eliminating the deduction that helps families pay off their mortgage.
Enter your annual income in our tax calculator, see exactly how each tax plan would affect you, and be sure to let others know about it: …

Who’s the one holding up the FAA??? http://overheadbin.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/08/02/13083370-report-3-jets-avoid-midair-collision-by-seconds-near-dc-airport?lite
I’m not sure why people are surprised by near misses at the airport. The GOP have obstructed funding upgrades to the Air Traffic Control system, and refused funding to hire more Air Traffic Controllers. It’s only a matter of time before the outdated system and exhausted controllers have accidents like this. I’m not sure that people really put two and two together to connect these things.
I looked at the photo of President Obama and his entire cabinet. Is it just me, or do they look like better people then Bush and his crew? When I look at President Obama’s group, I see decent Americans. When I look at VP Cheney, Rumsfeld, and that whole bunch I see folks I wouldn’t want to buy a used car from–they just have a different look. Seems a little out there to me, but thats what I see.
They look like the folks in the bar scene from the Star Trek movie.
Cheney and the rest of Bush’s gang look like the criminals that they are.
