Watch Mitt’s Nose Grow: 10 Pounds of Lies in a 5 Pound Bag (VIDEO)

    BY Stew Steve

Sadly, we’ll have to wait until election day, November 6, to find out if the majority of rational American voters have seen through Mitt Romney’s deceptions, lies, flips, and perversion of our tax system, and serve up an epic public bitch-slap by re-electing President Barack Obama for a second term.

In the meantime, we fight the misinformation and right-wing propaganda with facts, and thanks to Toon The News, we can fight with funny animation and using Mitt’s actual words.

    How Republicans Sabotaged the Recovery

The economy didn’t jump. It was pushed.

As they girded for each fight against a president they were determined to defeat, the Republicans fell back on the basic tenets of their economic philosophy. Unfortunately for the American people, those tenets were myths. Each one of the economic concepts that the Republicans held dear simply wasn’t true, as qualified economists from around the political spectrum agreed.

The time is running out to repudiate these myths. The unemployment rate is still at 8.2 percent, and the nation added a scant 80,000 jobs in June. Meanwhile, 49 percent of Americans polled this month by the New York Times and CBS said that they thought Mitt Romney, the presumptive Republican nominee, would do a better job with the economy as president, compared to 41 percent for Obama. If Romney were to follow Republican orthodoxy, however, his economic policy would be dangerously reliant on these five myths:

Myth 1: Government spending doesn’t help the economy to grow in the short term.

Myth 2: Cutting tax rates eventually leads to higher tax revenue.

Myth 3: Government spending doesn’t help the economy to grow in the long term.

Myth 4: Smaller government is always better.

Myth 5: The economy is meritocratic, so people earn what they deserve based on talent and effort.

Hey guys…what does it mean……”Receives polite standing ovation.”

I don’t know what is the difference between a polite standing ovation and a standing ovation.

It might mean people felt obligated to stand, but were reserved rather than jubilant in their effort. Pretty sure this is not PBO of whom you speak!

If the only applause that those veterans could muster was “polite” applause, when facing the one President who has done more for veterans than any other President in modern times, then shame on them. It’s more likely that the only shame deserved is with Mark Knoller. I don’t trust his account of anything.

Mitt Romney holds ‘you didn’t build that’ event … with federal contractors

So here’s the latest absurdity from Romneyland: Mitt Romney spent the early part of the day pushing his lame “you didn’t build that” attack against President Obama … while surrounded by business owners who depend on government contracts to make a living. Even better, he held the event, which was billed as an ode to rugged individualism, while standing in front of a banner blaring the collectivist “We did built it!” slogan. (“We,” not “I”?)

    You can’t make this up!..

Pam, I have been running around trying to firm up volunteer shifts for our county fair next week where we’ll do a lot of voter contact and registration. We have seven days of two-hour shifts to fill, plus booth set up and take down time. So..in effect..I’ve been working for our president.

I saw a clip of him on FOX News (played on MSNBC last week) showing him actually agreeing that the government really does provide the infrastructure to support businesses, and agreeing that one of his high school teachers made a huge impact on his life. He talked about all of this on FOX News!

ISLAMABAD—U.S. drones fired eight missiles at a compound owned by a powerful militant commander in northwest Pakistan on Monday, killing nine suspected insurgents, Pakistani intelligence officials said.
It was unclear whether the commander, Sadiq Noor, was at the compound in Dre Nishter village in the North Waziristan tribal area during the attack. Noor is the most important commander for Hafiz Gul Bahadur, a prominent Pakistani militant focused on fighting in Afghanistan.

The nine suspected militants who were killed were believed to be Bahadur’s fighters, said the intelligence officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to reporters.

Number Of Unregistered Latino Voters Large Enough To Transform Red States Into Swing States

    July 22, 2012
    By Janell Ross

The day before a class action civil rights lawsuit accusing Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and his office of wide-scale civil rights violations went to trial in Phoenix, a handful of people stood at the corner of North 27th Avenue and West Indian School Road just off the city’s Black Canyon Freeway.

Wearing “Adios Arpaio” T-shirts, the small group staged a protest at one of the busiest intersections in mostly Latino West Phoenix, aimed at what some consider two of Arizona’s biggest problems: Arpaio and apathy.

PPP poll says Iowa is Hillarys to lose! Yeah, and in the year 2039, we might have a Man on Mars. Who cares about the Future, when we have so much in front of us now?
    PPP polling = Fail!

No impact on which voters? They probably poll voters who are not in swing states. That means voters not targeted with anti-Bain ads. Which also means ‘voters’ who are part of the 60-70% who are not paying attention. Lies, damn lies, statistics and polls.

The national polls are very misleading, which is probably why they continue to use them, instead of state-by-state polls. Don’t forget how they used national polls to claim obama vs clinton was ‘close’, and obama vs mccain was ‘close’. Obama vs Clinton was over in February 2008, after he had a string of 11 straight wins.

The Obama campaign has always been a slow burn, which is not conducive to the frenzy nature of our MSM. I always have the following questions:
-Who is being polled? (everyone, registered voters, likely voters)
-How is the poll conducted? (landlines, cell phones, online, humans vs computer generated pollers)
-What is the question? (how is it framed)
        -How large is the sample?
-What is the margin of error? (more than 3.5 is not good)
-What organization is doing the polling?
-What was the span of time (3 days, week, 2-weeks)

Any poll can be conducted to get ‘desired’ results. Most MSM who report polling info, don’t bother to give background information on the poll. They ‘need’ us to assume its viability. At the very least, they should show the margin of error. If a poll has Obama at 43 and Romney at 41, with a + or – 3.0, it could be Obama 46, Romney 38.

I NEVER answer surveys. I bet there are a lot of other people who say no. My perennial question is, ‘what kind of people answer surveys?’

  22. July 23, 2012 at 4:36 pm

Good getting up afternoon O folks one and all! Why is it that weeds thrive in this sweltering weather, but the annuals that cost $$$$ wilt and are just hanging on by a thread? It’s 95 out as I type this, and the weeds are standing at attention, the delicate frou frou plants are laying there looking all pitiful. I’m buying weeds next year.

My political take today is it’s a waste of time and energy to expect anything from cable MSM. They are self-described infotainment outlets, not bone fide news organizations. Save your adrenaline for a legitimate flight or fight situation. There’s way too much time until November to use it all up now.
