Fine, AMK. I’ve been around, but my computer is excruciatingly slow when I log on to WordPress. It is so frustrating trying to make a single post, it takes me forever. I am saving up to buy me a lap top. This dinosaur drives me nuts. It is not as bad when I am on twitter, but it drags forever here. That’s why most times I am just lurking and I hate it.

Oh dear – I missed the new thread – excuse – listening to your wonderful President

I just went to watch the Century Village video – President Obama can handle any situation – I loved it when someone’s phone started ringing – He made that person feel so much better – rather than embarrassed or ashamed. No wonder everyone loves him.

Also saw whatever it was from a rally for Mitt – only non-white people I saw were 2 SS guys. All the women were blonds – also too.

For those who wanted to see the screaming old ladies who were flirting with Pres. Obama, kissing him, hugging him tight, and squeezing his cheeks; here is the video.

The fun begins at 25 mins or 26 mins into the event. If you listen carefully, as PBO speaks, a grandma yells: “Take Off Your Shirt!” The other grandma’s giggle.

I love this message from Stephen King which is very similar to what President Obama has been saying in all his public speeches :

in essence, there is no successful American who made it exclusively WITHOUT UTILIZING A SINGLE BENEFIT of being a citizen of, living, working and/marketing in America. so to whom much is given much is expected. we all play it foward

Business Man In Romney’s Attack Ad Actually Agreed 100% With Obama On Fox News

    ——————————

When campaigns are based on lies and misinformation one never knows when truth will raise its angelic head. Mitt Romney, a use to be moderate Republican not too dissimilar from President Obama in his values (less his propensity for vulture capitalism of course) had to remake himself by flipping and flopping many times over.

He reconfigured President Obama’s excellent speech about the government and others being instrumental in any entrepreneur’s success.
    .
    .
Creating an alternate state of reality that remains consistent is difficult. The Right Wing has been able to do it for north of 30 years. Let us hope that truth becomes the disinfectant this election cycle. For this we need an engaged electorate.

Zekke, it’s a stupid ad because Mitt Romney agrees with what President Obama said, I have never seen such a lying politician, maybe that’s why he gives so much to his Mormon church, but money won’t wash away his lies.

      • 25 anniebella
        July 20, 2012 at 3:18 am

I thought someone said that the President campaign had a rebuttal to that businessman ad, have anyone seen it.

  12. July 20, 2012 at 12:32 am

Very nice clip. I would love to see a juxtaposition of PBO’s audience and Mitt’s. The expressions on the faces of PBO’s versus the body language of Mitt’s speak volumes. Many in Mitt’s audience I notice have a certain rigidity and jerkiness just like him. And when he is shown speaking to them, you never see a wide angle of the people he is speaking to, very tight shots.

Anyhoo, PBO just seems to bring life to whereever he goes, no matter the size of the group.

    • 27 anniebella
      July 20, 2012 at 3:11 am

90% of Mitt audience is not there because they like Mitt, they are there because of their hatred for that black President and that is pitiful.

Ok Vic, I’m posting my comment that I wrote earlier……

Hey Vic…..I’m so outraged today, I can’t think clear….I don’t know how many articles I read today about the lying tax cheat, I just want to puke….I don’t care if it’s ”legal”…it’s obscene the way he was and still is able to game the system to the max with all his fake foreign accounts to avoid paying taxes, the foreign investors who funded Bain while avoiding paying taxes, not to mention his IRA of over 100 millions, like huh?… Rich heartless greedy psychos like him are the first ones to go in front of the camera to whine that the US is broke and that the gvt have to cut spending and cut social programs that help the poor and middle class…and the unbelievable hypocrisy to whine that they pay too much taxes.

Just my suggestion here, I understand the principle of your initiative and I did tell you that it was a great idea…..but I think there’s something important to be done. Something that can be done in paralell, the President’s accomplishment and exposing the frauds in Congress.

What is the ONLY line of attack that seem to be working on really really really uninformed people when it comes to the President?…

            The economy

We know that corporate media spin like crazy after every job reports and blame the President for everything without EVER mentioning that the cause of the slow recovery now is the batshit crazy teabaggers in Congress.

Why are very very very uninformed people blame the President for the economy? Because they never make the connection that it is the Republicans in Congress who block all initiatives.

No matter how many ‘accomplishments” we send out there, about gay rights, or fair pay for women or all the amazing stuff the President did, if the next job report is ”not good”, because according to the media, 80k new jobs is the same as losing 700k jobs, people in the middle, undecided will blame the President.

A few examples I could think of tweets that could be send to expose these frauds:

The Republicans in Congress blocked the President Job Bill that would create millions of jobs.

The Republicans in Congress didn’t create ONE job bill since they regained control of the House

The Republicans in Congress passed 50 abortion bills instead on focusing on jobs

The Republicans in Congress idea of job creation is to give people like Mitt Romney who hides his millions in foreign accounts more tax cuts.

            And on and on….

An hashtag like #truthabouttheeconomy for example

We could do both no?….Exposing these nutjobs and sending info about the President’s accomplishments.

For the accomplishments, again, just a suggestion here, I think it would be good to put both, accomplishments and what Romney would do? I know you want to stay 100 per cent positive but it could be good too to draw a sharp contrast …..hashtag like….mmmmm….#ForthepeopleForthe1%…when your only concern is the 1% you don’t care about anything else, any social programs is a waste, wars are profitable, etc.

Examples: President Obama want to protect Medicaire, Romney want to privatize medicaire

President Obama passed the ACA, Romney want to end the ACA on day one and hurt milions of people

President Obama ended the war in Iraq, Romney wanted to leave the troops indefinitely.

and on and on and on…..so many examples,…..

            It’s just ideas!

            • July 20, 2012 at 2:48 am

Hey there Christi, Ive tweeted the ones above #truthabouttheeconomy…when I can, I’ll go through a few more…thanks for the great tag lines 🙂

Definitely appreciate your input, CM! That’s a lot for me to chew on so I’m going to answer in stages, part now and the rest tomorrow later today, because I haven’t slept since waking up at 6am Thursday and my eyes are starting to feel tired. 😉

Part 1 – ‘We could do both no?….Exposing these nutjobs and sending info about the President’s accomplishments…. #ForthepeopleForthe1%
Examples: President Obama want to protect Medicaire, Romney want to privatize medicaire’

This works, and I already saw TODers who were doing this to a certain extent under the original #CanMittMatchThis? What I would probably do is throw out both and TODobots can respond by doing both approaches or focusing on one, WHICHEVER BEST FITS THEIR CONTRIBUTION OF THE MOMENT. For me personally I’ll stick 90% to the strictly positive re PBO because my psyche has almost ceased to register Mitt and his gang. I don’t want to grant them a moment more of my thoughts than I have to, so personally I choose not to spare any of my limited creative juices on them. OTH, I recognize that there are voters/participants/TODobots who are not yet so inclined and who need to reach out and use their feelings to enlighten. Together our different approaches will reach a larger combined audience, I hope.

Part 2 – ‘We know that corporate media spin like crazy after every job reports and blame the President …& never make the connection that it is … the Republicans in Congress who block all initiatives.’

Yes, we can make the connection for some by focusing our tweets on the economy on job number days, etc. We would just need to be more topical, I think, and not restrict ourselves to the focus of the day. Something I believe many have been doing naturally.

              ——————————————–
I’ll answer the next part later as I do believe I’m becoming incoherent. See you later. VC

              July 20, 2012 at 7:27 am

Brilliant, Christi, we can’t let a day go by without pounding the fact that the Republican House has stood in the way of economic growth since day one. They have done nothing and the president has done everything he can from the Executive branch. No jobs bill passed, nothing.

            • 54 vcprezofan2
              July 20, 2012 at 3:51 pm

Okay CM, to complete my response……. This should really have been Part 1 but I was far too brain drained to address it so early in the day. I figured maybe I’d be more lucid later. Let’s see…..

Part 3 – ‘I’m so outraged today, I can’t think clear….I don’t know how many articles I read today about the lying tax cheat, I just want to puke’

Christi, my first inclination is to ask you why are you outraged? We (TOD Media Team) need you calm and ready to share your knowledge about the real political situation and we can’t afford to have you derailed by these jokers. 😆 My suggestion, each time you are confronted with RW garbage, is to ask yourself if the info reveals anything ‘new’ about these pretentious presidential aspirants. In a way it never does – ‘new info’ about Willard and his spouse only confirms what we already know about them, which is that they lack class, are selfish, greedy, uncaring about America, AND ARE UNFIT to lead! Therefore, IMO everything that is revealed about them from here on in should be shared as evidence, but shouldn’t faze us. At least, that is my take (partly because I have to keep my pressure down and I won’t allow Willard and his gang to undermine my health). 😉 😉 I certainly hope you won’t let them or their lackeys undermine YOUR own health!

Thanks again for your input, which I hope we’ll incorporate in the near future, once we get over the hump of this awful day.

I just heard about the shooting at the movie theater in Colorado. So far 14 dead and 50 others shot. What kind of gun did this fool have? Just like the people who is always preaching about abortion and how the blood of this babies will be on the doctors hand, I believe the blood of these dead people will be on the hands of the NRA. Because to shoot that many people the person had to have one of those automatic weapons, the NRA doesn’t want any king of gun band and that means weapons like these will fall in the hands of people like this guy. Thanks to the NRA. I’m glad they caught the guy, may he rot in “H”. And one more thing, I just thought about this, and I know I could be wrong but here goes, it was the opening of the Batman movie, and it wouldn’t surprise me if that shooter was someone who listen to Rush Limbaugh B.S. about that movie and his Bain crap. Just thinking. May the good Lord be with those people.

Statement by President Barack Obama on the Shooting in Colorado

Michelle and I are shocked and saddened by the horrific and tragic shooting in Colorado. Federal and local law enforcement are still responding, and my Administration will do everything that we can to support the people of Aurora in this extraordinarily difficult time. We are committed to bringing whoever was responsible to justice, ensuring the safety of our people, and caring for those who have been wounded. As we do when confronted by moments of darkness and challenge, we must now come together as one American family. All of us must have the people of Aurora in our thoughts and prayers as they confront the loss of family, friends, and neighbors, and we must stand together with them in the challenging hours and days to come.
