Thanks, Allison & a ‘w00t’ back at you a4A! 😉 I can’t tell the last time I hotfooted it to the front of the line, so you can be sure I ‘ve a huge smile on my face! 😀
Yes they are carrying water for Romney. All their skewed polls, their distractions with Michele Bachmann & George Zimmerman, their PR media blitz, and then tonight with John McCain going on Piers to try to exonerate Romney of any wrong-doing.
And they think we are so damn stupid, we can’t see through it all.
The crawl on MSNBC has also been sanitized. It reads that she said ‘We’ve given you all you need to know” Meanwhile, also on the crawl, ‘Madonna puts gun to her head during stage stunt.’ Somehow, I think there’s a link between these two stories somewhere, just can’t quite put my finger on it.
I still contend as I have always done, contrary to what’s been said about Wiltin’ Willard, it’s Ann who can’t be sent out alone to make statements. She just can’t do it, no filter, nor real-world coping skills. The little woman syndrome doesn’t prepare for the national stage.
This is one impressive family I have here! It really is ‘who you know’. Thank you Hf. 😉 I just finished watching that and along with his words, enjoying the fact that the people behind him were not robots. 😛
what a wonderful crowd! so responsive, and so with him every minute of the speech! my husband and i had tears in our eyes watching this speech. if you have a chance, watch the whole thing. it’s beautiful all the way through. pbo just gets better and better.
Have you noted he is often just using notes rather than teleprompter so speeches are more in the moment, interactive with the crowd? He is magnificent. Can’t believe that in the end people other than crazy racists and RWNJ and fearful old white people will vote for Mitt3PO. With our president it’s a marathon not a sprint. Important to focus on the prize and keep organizing rather than getting caught up the media up/down narrative and unreliable polls.
yes, and the immediacy of his relationship with the people around him is palpable. in the part of the speech where he talks about americans immigrating here from all over, he says ‘some came in chains’–first time i’ve heard him say that. the huge crowd became silent and still. it was so powerful! he’s reminding us that this is serious. the moneygrabbers have shown what they’re willing to do to people, and we need to believe them.
Good to have PBO in my home town. The thunderstorm that delayed him had me a bit worried. Good crowds, but a few reporters searched hard to find protestors and found only a few with signs before the storm chased them away.
I thought today very much about a man that goes by the name of Willard MoreMoney Romney. Instinctively I shuddered and my synapses began to fire away with all the automatic negative thoughts i typically associate with this scurge, this unsightly blemish upon the face of humanity. Perhaps it’s because I’m in a particular mood today, or perhaps it’s because I’m so fricking hungry(I started a soup diet but all I think about are hamburgers, pizza, KFC and Red Lobster) or maybe it’s hormones (yeah, okay 🙄 ). But today, as Petunia came to mind, I willfully attempted to push past the urge to gag and turn the contents of my stomach inside out, and instead, I tried to make myself understand where that frowsy bitch No, dick , no. prick , skank……….. man is coming from. And why he is running for president of these united states.
Petunia wants to be president not because he wants to make a difference or because he wants to help people, it’s for his own self aggrandizement. No its more than that, I think he started in politics, not because he wanted to, but because maybe felt he had to, or maybe his dad wanted him to. I’ve heard soundbites of Petunia saying that his dad told him that he should go make a lot of money before running for president. What if that was George Romney’s greatest regret: coming close and losing out in a such a crazy way? What if Petunia always grew up with the expectation of running and over time, especially after 2008, he began to actually believe that eventually, he would be president. What if he took for granted that he would be the 45th president of these united states? What if fulfilling his dad’s dreams suddenly became his dream but for a different reason? Suppose after his dad failed and he failed before in 2007, what if now, Petunia really believes “it’s [his] turn now.” finally, across two generations and millions of dollars, the Oval Office is within sight and it doesn’t matter if you have to abandon scruples to get there. It doesn’t even matter if you know you can do what’s required or not, it doesn’t matter if you have to sell your soul to be a puppet on a string, all that matters is that “it’s [finally your] turn.” that’s where that sense of entitlement comes from. I sincerely pity Petunia and his wife The Reject.
Can you imagine living 65 years with this monkey on your back? Expecting your daddy’s name and reputation to continue to open doors for you and your ill gotten gains to do the rest of the work? Never truly liked or chosen, a tool for your own party to use because they just happen to hate the other guy more than they hate you? Boiled down to being a baboon with opposable thumbs, used to sign this and that and whatever else you’re told to sign? I doubt Petunia was the kind of man his father expected him to be, and I sincerely doubt this was the way he wanted his son to run for the highest office in the land. Petunia is banking on arrogance, lies and cheating to win this one, how unfortunate for him. I hope he doesn’t have a stroke on November 6th 2012, when his aspirations take their last gasping breaths. DOWN WITH WILLARD!!!!!!!!
Ps- ………. Er, lord rest his soul. Maybe in retirement he can find the decency and honor he lacked in his life and perhaps he’ll do something worthwhile in his free time. In the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost. Amen.
Pps- screw you, Petunia, and your silly wife too!!!
Ppps- Im obviously going to he’ll. 😀 but I’ll be smiling all the way there!! 😆
The speech really was something else. It’s always fresh and superb but today it was just fantastic! He connected with the people who needed to know what a Romney administration would look like, feel like, and sound like. I’m glad that he focused on older people so they realize that they are not exempt from the horrors of a Romney administration.
Jovie, I know that everyone has there preferences but you have so many options with the internet. Why must it be CNN or MSNBC for you? They have an agenda and they don’t want the public (who watch these shows during the day) to know how well received this President really is when he visits these states.
I know you like tv but try and watch these events on your computer because I wouldn’t trust these shows one bit if I want to see the President unfiltered.
Good advice. Plus, watching online usually excludes their commentary, and guarantees no high blood pressure when the MSM flips to some useless other piece of “breaking news”.
I haven’t checked the news today and have just been taking care of things and got this excited wonderful feeling that something good was happening for President Obama. I thought I would check here first. I love every good thing that comes his way. I’m off to check around and see what is going on.
Romney’s simple line of attack has been replaced with a defense of confusing obfuscation.
He’s struggling to change the subject, by any means.
Romney’s first response to recent questions about his wealth was an odd one: he embraced victimization. He claimed to be a victim of Obama’s aggressive, out-of-control campaign. But whining is a sign of weakness. For Romney, it didn’t work out so well.
So now the Romney campaign appears to be planning to shake the Etch A Sketch again and this time draw an angry face.
Will in all fairness he did not retire until he started running for President…….retroactively. He was still CEO for Bain before he wasn’t CEO for Bain.
The other point is that if Mitt was pretending to be the CEO of Bain, then he was misleading investors. He was implying that the company was being managed by him, all the while some yet unnamed character was running the company, and the identity of that unnamed investor may very well have negatively influenced investors. Lying to and misleading investors about details of corporate leadership is a crime, isn’t it?
I agree. They look angry, disgruntled and probably blame everything on the government and Democrats(socialists), without understanding one of their own (Bush) caused this economy to crash.
“This is the most important election of my life,” Nye, known as the “science guy” from his 90’s kids’ show, told the Foster’s Daily Democrat earlier this week. “And I believe we’re at a crossroads — a turning point. We can either move forward, especially in education, or backward. I think voters have a clear choice, so I’m supporting the president.”
The only thing I use on that list is Blue Bell Ice Cream. This will stop in my house. Sorry, cloth napkins here….no waste, easy to hand wash. No paper products at all, except Charmin…didn’t see it on that list. Did I miss it?
“This is the most important election of my life,” Nye, known as the “science guy” from his 90’s kids’ show, told the Foster’s Daily Democrat earlier this week. “And I believe we’re at a crossroads — a turning point. We can either move forward, especially in education, or backward. I think voters have a clear choice, so I’m supporting the president.”
Nye has been stumping for Obama in New Hampshire, according to the campaign.
Instead like the coward that he is, he’s going on CNN to pretend he saw nothing in those 23 returns, and to change the topic to Obama’s “Chicago Style” politics.
During the 1920s, or the Roaring 20s, Jimmy the Son had gangs go against Harry and Pops, many Tommy guns ago.
Also, They were probably all conservatives, having at it, in the Windy city!
These same thugs, then paid politicians in Chicago to look the other way.
Al Capone was the head honcho, delivering several payments to politicians.
So, is McCain mad at Al Capone, or this President?
Yeah, John Kerry only released 2 years running for President, because he had already releaased 20 yrs before that, when he was a senator. The Re-thugs are so shady….
Regardless, it should be pointed out that McCain and Kerry were not running based on their business success and were not hiding money overseas. They had both been in the Senate for years.
Jon Lovitz tweeted a picture apparently meant as a criticism of President Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize. Lovitz’s caption reads, “Nobel Peace Prize? You didn’t earn that. Somebody else made that happen.”
I’m not on twitter but I hope people smack this degenerate down.
He used to be on SNL. This is not the first time he has criticized the President. He’s recently been on a few episodes of the show on TV land with Betty White…. Hot in Cleveland.
Ah I see. But did PBO EVER make the claim that he single-handedly earned the Nobel Prize? And PBO didn’t pocket the money either – he gave it all away to charity (and I don’t mean his church or favorite cultural group).
I got a similar quote of Ayn Rand from my libertarian friend who is so ‘free’ and such an ‘individual’ that his arthritic wife does all the snow shoveling for his Christie-sized lazy ass.
I love these libertarians who do nothing for themselves except deny any dignity to anyone else.
Did any of “You people” catch the beginning of Martin Bashir show with Karen Finley and that other guy , the guy I can’t think of his name but he talked of that NY Times price of trash poll and he said he didn’t agree with it.
Mr. Esptein is a great attorney. He also was counsel to the House Judiciary Committee at one time. He is very positive in his comments about PBO. He is a brilliant attorney.HZ
Mitt Romney is arguably the most high-profile Mormon in the United States right now, but a small group of Seattle-based bloggers are hoping to let people know that not all Mormons are the same – and they’re not all voting for Mitt Romney.
“I would say just like Mitt Romney is not your average American, he’s not your average Mormon, he doesn’t represent every Mormon in America,” said Laura Saganac, spokesperson for Mormons For Obama, a blog that hosts pro-Obama posts written by a small group of Mormons living in Seattle.
The blog was created in January of this year and has sold about 500 “I’m voting for Obama and I’m a Mormon” bumper stickers. The bloggers post about election issues from the perspective of a progressive-minded Mormon. Writers have tackled both Romney and Obama’s positions on gay marriage, health care and religion.
“There are various opinions around these issues and we wanted to capture that,” Sagnac said. “We wanted to represent the diversity of the [Mormon] Church and provide a forum for people to come together and share interesting tidbits about what’s going on in the election and how our faith really helps our support of President Obama. ”
While there may be no written rule within the church demanding political purity within the Mormon community, there is one big issue where the Mormons for Obama split from their church. On the issue of gay marriage, they side with the President, who affirmed his support for its being legal in May of this year. The Mormon Church, however, believes it should be banned, going so far as to encourage LDS members to support the passage of the highly polarizing Proposition 8 in California, banning gay marriage in the state.
Sagnac acknowledges that she and her fellow bloggers are a minority in the Mormon community, but feel strongly that their voice can be heard. ”I personally have a lot faith in President Obama that he represents and tries to embody the religious freedom and respect this country represents.”
Of the 15/16 issues the PEW polled on, all But the deficit and job creation.
Those who tweet should tweet to correct both Ezra Klein and Jonathan Alter. These are how lies get cemented and people wind up believing the lies. We have to refute the lies, always.
so true. I was pissed when he said nothing in return. you know what I think? I think these so called pundits and reporters don’t challenge the other side’s mouthpiece because the pundits don’t know the issues. Think about it, look how lazy the media is, do you really think they know anything about ObamaCare, or Stimulus or PBO’s history of taxes and tax cuts for the middle class. they only know enough to get by and even that is nothing. So it’s not necessarily that they are all GOP mouthpieces, it’s that they seriously don’t know shit. Biggest bunch of idiots alive. they don’t even do their homework so they don’t know the answers when someone else says something blatantly false. Seriously, when the hell did our media become so lazy? coasting by on how dumb their audiences are, not trying to ensure best practice, just engaging in tabloid gossiping. I swear, there needs to a return in values and decency in this country. We are lacking both in our politics and in our “news”.
I don’t think ignorance fully accounts for their allowing the GOP to walk over them like that. Because they are very aggressive, and sometimes even hostile when interviewing PBO, his surrogates and other PBO-supporting Democrats. I think the GOP owns the corporate media and the pundits are being hired and paid by CEO’s who are largely conservative and Republican.
Being tough on PBO gives them earning power. Being tough with TBGOPers, they get hate mails, calls and they may loose their jobs. They want to keep their earning powers open for Fox, FBN, CNBC, Lobbyists spot, think tanks, etc.
We know Alter has a split personality, in other word he lies just like the other MSM. These doctrine polls are their way of helping to change the subject of Bain and Mitt’s taxes.
They have to be invited. The media decides who they invite period. I think the reason you have’t seen the Obama surrogates is that they were so effective when they were invited by the media. Right now the media is in the RESCUE ROMNEY mode.
For you to blame the Obama team is, in my humble opinion, uncalled for. What you did there is take the blame off the media and put it on the “Obama team.” By so doing, you begin to undermine the enthusiasm for the President.
I’m sick of Republicans telling us than anyone who isn’t ‘them’ is ‘un-American’.
How dare they! How dare they decide that their vicious view of life and deranged view of Christianity is the only way to be American.
How-fucking dare they decide that I’m un-American with a casual, callous flick of their sceptres. I’m outraged. I’m particularly outraged that this is becoming ‘normal’ in our public discourse just because they have all the money that they’ve stolen from the people who truly built this country.
Navy Secretary Ray Mabus insisted plans for a “green fleet” that uses biofuels will move forward despite efforts by Republicans in Congress to stop it.
The Navy hosted a refueling demonstration of its “Great Green Fleet” aircraft carrier strike group on Wednesday off the coast of Hawaii. The fleet used a 50-50 mix of petroleum and advanced biofuels made from cooking oil and algae.
Mabus said Thursday that continued Navy biofuels use will create markets that help drive prices down. He added that having an alternative fuel source will keep Navy costs down because it will be less affected by oil market volatility.
“The Navy always said it’s not going to buy large amounts of these until they’re cost competitive,” Mabus said. “But one of the ways [we make them cost competitive] is by the military providing the market for it, and we’ve done that with technology. If we only looked at nuclear costs, we wouldn’t have nuclear submarines.”
Just saw a Twitter comment that Ann made her “you people” comment to Robin Roberts, but she wouldn’t have said that to someone of a different ethnic background…
I don’t think that was the issue, and quite frankly it’s another distraction from the real issue. Miss Ann feels superior to anyone who is not part of her 1% posse. The pressure on Mitt to release his tax returns is not going to go away. No amount of media PR blitz or John McCain going on CNN to acquit Romney or such is going to matter. Mitt Romney MUST release his tax returns or else he’s guaranteed to lose in November. He may lose if he releases them, but he WILL lose if he doesn’t release them.
I think both are true. She feels superior to everyone else and entitled to a different set of rules, and she felt just fine using that term to a black person.
Hello Everyone at TOD,
It’s been a minute since I have been able to stop by here but I am so happy to have some time to do so now. I have been immersed in work, family, and campaign responsibilities and have missed a lot of the back and forth in the media. I take it that the Romney campaign is now full-on working the President is a “foreigner” angle and lying. To that I say: What’s new? I am here in Chicago so I get to stop by HQ from time to time to do small projects and to visit with friends. I want to let you know that things are firing on all cylinders and that folks are just “doing the work..” I know that it difficult to not to get consumed with every new “non-troversy” and every new poll and every new B.S. storyline. The truth is that none of those things matter. The focus for this campaign is two-fold: 1. define Mitt Romney; 2. GOTV. That’s it. It’s that simple. Everyone already knows the President, his biography, etc… They need to be reminded of the accomplishments to be sure but the other two things are key. Look to see in the coming weeks whether Mitt Romney’s favorability scores start to move and also please consider volunteering for the campaign if you aren’t already doing so. We need absolutely everyone for what is going to be a very, very close and hard fought contest. Peace to you all.
“In 2008, a packed and enthusiastic crowd of 9,000 greeted Obama at Veteran’s Arena. This year, the number of supporters was estimated at 3,000 on the first of a two-day swing through the nation’s largest battleground state.” Is this really true? Were there really so many less people there today?
Have you guys seen this? Did I just miss when it was previously mentioned – highly likely since I’ve been floating in and out at odd times? I personally wouldn’t put anything past Netanyahu because I do not trust him.
This is unconfirmed. But I will say that the media right now is fishing for distractions, any distraction to take the ball off Romney and his tax returns.
Yes it does say unconfirmed, but the last section posits a scenario or two that actually had me thinking. Probably had me thinking because as I said, I really do not like/trust Netanyahu from the momentt he visited then tried to undermine my president’s position IN HIS OWN ‘HOME’!
I’m really interested in this question, but haven’t seen much to give me an answer. According to this pollsters should be calling 34% cell phone only house holds who favor PBO by 20% to gather accurate data for their polls. I doubt any of them are calling that high a number of cell households.
Bingo! Tally, the same question should be asked of all Republicans, including the libertarian hypocrite, Ron Paul, who opted for a government job instead of practicing medicine. No wonder his son is following the example set by his father.
A lot of our friends and PBO supporters on Twitter are pissed off with Jonathan Capehart (who filled in for Bashir this afternoon) for allowing Jonathan Alter to use the show to continue pimping Willard while undermining PBO.
Well I’m really curious to see what MAvericky McCain has to say tonight on Piers. Something tells me he’s going to make things WORSE, not better, for Willard.
I doubt it hopefruit. McCain hates President Obama so much that he will do everything to help Romney. He may have been promised a job in the Romney Administration. May be he wants to be Sec. of State, or Sec. of Defense.
The way that the Willard campaign and cronies call our Beloved President ‘foreign’. How this one lady called our Beloved President a ‘monster’. Well Tweety just went off on how they are still continually attacking his being a genuine American and these weirdos keep bringing up untrue things about him and ‘good Tweety’ just went off on that guy. In the end of the segment he said ‘I can tell when you are lying cause your voice gets higher’ lol. I just like the way he went off on him.
Tally, that’s correct, and likely one of the reasons he does not want the type of scrutiny he’s already experienced upon releasing just one partial tax return – 2010.
As noted yesterday ….
Yo @MittRomney either you show us what you showed #McCain & lose, or you don't & lose. It's lose, lose 4 you #BainMitt. Withdraw or waste $$
Upon reflection, perhaps it’s lose & go to jail, if he does release the returns vs just lose, if he doesn’t. He’s such a spineless wimp, I’ll not be the least surprised if he withdraws.
Anyway, off subject, Gabby Douglas, Ollympic Gymnast will be on Rock Center tonight. I watched her perform in the trials….she is GREAT and young and cute as cn be. The Mitt sons will also be on, but I want to see Gabby.
Running out for dog food, puggies are staring me down. Happy B-Day weekend LL!
I cannot get into the polls…their up…their down…their fixed…Oooooooo weeeeee….
on a positive note 😀
i love the new campaign that the First Lady mentioned…It Takes One…so very awesome….this is what i have to do to combat all the jive from racisrt RW ….like the First Lady says….continue to move forward>>>>>>>>>>>>and take someone with you…
Do you think that it will be seen as whining for the President and Dems to point out how the GOP Congress have sabotaged the econonmy,,,do you think that ordinary people see this…
Btw- that Jobs council was terrible idea anyways. The WH knows the CEOs they picked, all they wanted were tax cuts and no regulations.
Thus, no meetings!
That is the truth…
Jay Carney said that a lot of ideas from the Job Council were incorporated into the Jobs Act. Other parts came from elsewhere. Congress has not acted on this so there seems little reason to keep meeting with them for additional ideas. But members of this council have been holding meetings on their own in other parts of the country, some of them carried on White House live since then.
President Obama has zillions of advisory councils. If he had to meet regularly with all of them, he would get nothing else done.
Actually, that’s just accepting Romney’s framing. The Jobs council has come up with various proposals that have been implemented already. The President attended one of their meetings, and they discussed this. I believe they are the ones who proposed was helping small businesses to get inroads into foreign markets, as well as streamlining the government. It’s making a real difference.
Here’s an excerpt from the last meeting in January: “Of the 35 specific recommendations the Council has made that don’t require legislative action, President Obama has taken action on 33 of them and his Administration has already implemented 16”.
Here’s a presentation summarizing some of their accomplishments, as well, including increasing public-private partnerships. The thing is, if you want to improve jobs in America quickly, then why wouldn’t you reach out to successful business leaders who actually want to invest their time and energy in improving this country – versus the ones who just want to bleed it dry? It’s a smart move, in my opinion – the United States is widely regarded as a place where some of the best and most innovative business minds reside – it’s just a few bad apples that are ruining that reputation.
Interesting. C-Span3 is playing Romney’s Wednesday event ahead of President Obama’s at 6:20. I think they purposely do this to allow us to more easily compare the two. All the better for us.
Did you see this little gem from Orrin Hatch ? I e-mailed him and asked him if he was accusing our President of using tax dollars for campaigning…..and asked him to clarify his statement … I copied my e-mail to my two Republican Senators for further explanation .
But the official tax analysts for Congress at the Joint Committee on Taxation said that disallowing the deduction for outsourcing expenses would raise just $14 million next year, which appears to indicate that the measure wouldn’t deter outsourcing very much. The new credit for bringing workers back to the U.S. would cost just $21 million next year. Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah pointed out that Obama has spent more than that on ads attacking Romney on the issue.
Scott Brown must have made a deal with his GOP brethren to allow him to vote infavor of the bill…so that Warren would not have any more fuel to add to his fire…
You know what I think is really classic about all the distortion of truth and the reality of the love wave that follows President Obama? The naysayers, truth twisters and haters will never know what hit them in November, as all along they have been fed lies and disinformation, and made to believe they are worthy of representing the finest of nations! They are deluded, willingly, and refuse to see that there is Love and Light and Good Will in massive proportion right under their noses!
What ho TOD Peeps. To inject some levity into the day here. Just heard on Randi’s show. Rush Limbaugh (or “DJ Junkie” as another caller called him) has actually figured it all out. Barack Obama IS Batman! 😆 😆 (which means that Bane really is Bain Capital!) See http://www.barackobamaisbatman.com
I don’t comment on POTUS’ swagger.. er physical attributes much.. but I’m watching him greet folks off the plane- and well maybe I need my own naughty mat Chips 😉 http://www.cbsnews.com/liveFeed/widget.shtml
Even if she hadn’t used a derogatory phrase, the fact that she thinks she shouldn’t have to be transparent is news enough. Maybe she doesn’t realize that her husband is running for the highest PUBLIC office in the land, and that he’ll work for Americans – not the other way around. This contrasts nicely with that clip from the “Betting on America” video clip, where President Obama is holding that lady’s hand and telling her to never be nervous about asking a politician a question – he then says, “I work for you. You’re my boss”. That little exchange tells me everything I need to know about President Obama.
Ann Romney was in that racist church just as long as her husband – and she doesn’t seem to have accepted their rejection of their views on black people. I would call her a racist – plain and simple.
all true–except she hasn’t been in that racist church as long as her husband. she converted to the lds when she was 17 and in love with myth r’money. then he went off to missionize france, and she went too. then she majored in french at byu. besotted much? anyway, she came from a secular-christian household. her brother and her mother later converted to lds, but the father refused to join. after he died, the r’moneys converted him posthumously. all in wikipedia.
For those who have access to CSPAN 3, they’re now televising PBO’s West Palm Beach campaign stop. He hasn’t appeared yet but one of the officials is now speaking 🙂
I’m here!
😆 😆
w00t!
OMGoodness! You Rock, VC! 😆
Hi Pamela, you should have seen my 1st place grin. It deserved a medal of its own. 😆
Congratulations VC on #1 🙂
Thank you, Hf. I needed this to help me feel ALMOST back to normal. 😉
Congrats VC!
Thanks, Allison & a ‘w00t’ back at you a4A! 😉 I can’t tell the last time I hotfooted it to the front of the line, so you can be sure I ‘ve a huge smile on my face! 😀
Media carrying water for the Romneys!
Well. it’s bad journalism to put this in quotations…that isn’t the quote. They can’t even get this right?
Because they are corporate press-titutes
yup, corporate press-titutes and media thugs.
Hahaha. Yup.

You are absolutely correct cookemom – she’s just as bad as her husband – tone deaf and entitled.
They can take out “you people”, but the sentiment is still clear – WE’VE decided that YOU know all you need to know. Peasants!
Screen shots, Twitter and You tube, make the media’s job, to supress and distort the news a little bit harder.
Just missed, by about a mile.
Me, I missed the Jacksonville speech, yet hope to get a bit of it when Chips posts her updates later.
CSPAN has the whole video VC.
Here it is. Just click the Jacksonville link under the playist

And Moment Before Last Rites
I thought today very much about a man that goes by the name of Willard MoreMoney Romney. Instinctively I shuddered and my synapses began to fire away with all the automatic negative thoughts i typically associate with this scurge, this unsightly blemish upon the face of humanity. Perhaps it’s because I’m in a particular mood today, or perhaps it’s because I’m so fricking hungry(I started a soup diet but all I think about are hamburgers, pizza, KFC and Red Lobster) or maybe it’s hormones (yeah, okay 🙄 ). But today, as Petunia came to mind, I willfully attempted to push past the urge to gag and turn the contents of my stomach inside out, and instead, I tried to make myself understand where that frowsy
bitchNo,dick, no.prick,skank……….. man is coming from. And why he is running for president of these united states.Petunia wants to be president not because he wants to make a difference or because he wants to help people, it’s for his own self aggrandizement.
Chips, I agree with you that that Jacksonville speech was fantastic. And it’s getting better – if that’s even possible!
The speech really was something else. It’s always fresh and superb but today it was just fantastic! He connected with the people who needed to know what a Romney administration would look like, feel like, and sound like. I’m glad that he focused on older people so they realize that they are not exempt from the horrors of a Romney administration.
Wish I could have seen it…

Jovie, I know that everyone has there preferences but you have so many options with the internet. Why must it be CNN or MSNBC for you? They have an agenda and they don’t want the public (who watch these shows during the day) to know how well received this President really is when he visits these states.
I know you like tv but try and watch these events on your computer because I wouldn’t trust these shows one bit if I want to see the President unfiltered.
Just giving some friendly advice 🙂
Good advice. Plus, watching online usually excludes their commentary, and guarantees no high blood pressure when the MSM flips to some useless other piece of “breaking news”.
I like watching it on CSPAN since there is no commentary.
I missed it. 😦

thank you! 🙂
I haven’t checked the news today and have just been taking care of things and got this excited wonderful feeling that something good was happening for President Obama. I thought I would check here first. I love every good thing that comes his way. I’m off to check around and see what is going on.
FROM VICTIM TO VICIOUS
By Charles M. Blow
———————————-
Romney’s simple line of attack has been replaced with a defense of confusing obfuscation.

NOTE: Congressman Barney Frank on Mitt Romney: There is a meanness at his core.
Accccck, Did he say “Totes” I’d rather get soaked in a rainstorm. I will PURPOSELY buy another umbrella. Acccccck!!!

Well, lookey here.
Tweet to mark halperin- he keeps saying their is no proof of this.
Sent to some of our friends yesterday 🙂
Will in all fairness he did not retire until he started running for President…….retroactively. He was still CEO for Bain before he wasn’t CEO for Bain.
The other point is that if Mitt was pretending to be the CEO of Bain, then he was misleading investors. He was implying that the company was being managed by him, all the while some yet unnamed character was running the company, and the identity of that unnamed investor may very well have negatively influenced investors. Lying to and misleading investors about details of corporate leadership is a crime, isn’t it?
Ooops! 73% of Americans don’t know who John Roberts is.

Mitt Romney: Saying Anything to Get Elected
REMEMBER: The very first ad from the Romney campaign was deceptively edited.
Romney’s first TV ad draws flak from Obama campaign for misleading use of president’s words (video)

(h/t Linda from previous thread)
Just LOOK at those guys sitting behind him there. That’s his base……..”anybody but Obama.” They hate so much they look hateful.
I agree. They look angry, disgruntled and probably blame everything on the government and Democrats(socialists), without understanding one of their own (Bush) caused this economy to crash.

Screw him. Man, did these Guys wake up on the wrong side of The Bed!
Rubio is not relevant.
Tweet that to him. That would be funny!
I just did! I’m a sick puppy!
He would know about those 3rd world leaders……just sayin.
obviously mr rubio doesn’t know what it means to be an american.
I just him a tweet telling him he’s making a mockery of his own country – and the world is watching him do that. He’s a joke.
Bill Nye backs President Obama
“This is the most important election of my life,” Nye, known as the “science guy” from his 90’s kids’ show, told the Foster’s Daily Democrat earlier this week. “And I believe we’re at a crossroads — a turning point. We can either move forward, especially in education, or backward. I think voters have a clear choice, so I’m supporting the president.”
http://www.politico.com/blogs/click/2012/07/bill-nye-backs-president-obama-129496.html
Jonathan capehart?
LOL! I held my tongue on that one when he announced earlier that he would be filling in for Martin.
🙂
That’s funny. I hope he gets asylum before they strap him to the top of the plane. 🙂
I have PP voter registration today for 3 hours..
OMG. I think Tally needs to see this. She will NOT be happy!

The only thing I use on that list is Blue Bell Ice Cream. This will stop in my house. Sorry, cloth napkins here….no waste, easy to hand wash. No paper products at all, except Charmin…didn’t see it on that list. Did I miss it?
dammit. I love White Castles…….sigh……I need to go on a diet anyways…….mope……. 😉
Great! I get to keep my toilet paper.
Bill Nye is not a Mitt Romney guy.

McDemented is simply mad… Not in the angry way, or maybe in both ways!
Ezra Klein just said that John Kerry only released 2 years of taxes.
They are ALL incompetent….
Remember that Ezra Klein said that his job is “not to help liberals win”
How about he just gets his facts correct .
Well, unfortunately, “not helping Liberals win” entails a bit of lying…as we have seen with candidate Romney.
If you’re telling the truth, you’re probably “helping liberals win.”
I’m no fan of his, but I thought he said John McCain released only 2 years?
He did say McCain but he also said John Kerry unless I heard him wrong.
What the hell is wrong with these people?! Kerry had about 20 years of tax returns available as Senator. Jackasses, all of them.
Yes he did. I’m seething. Just signed on to post this lie and was glad to see I wasn’t the only irate viewer.
Are you sure he wasn’t talking about Teresa Heinz Kerry – who released two years of tax returns after the GOP went crazy?
Ezra Klein needs to be tweeted the FACTS so it will help him get his head out of his ignorant ass.
Who is Jon Lovitz?
a washed out has been ‘comedian’.
Wasn’t he on SNL in the 70’s, he wasn’t funny then, and his 15 minutes of fame left many years ago.
The last time called Pres. Obama a fucking asshole then refused to apologize saying “Obama is not a king.”
His last rant didn’t get him any bookings so he is going to have at it again….
Some asshole whose orifices are filled with tea bags.
I got a similar quote of Ayn Rand from my libertarian friend who is so ‘free’ and such an ‘individual’ that his arthritic wife does all the snow shoveling for his Christie-sized lazy ass.
I love these libertarians who do nothing for themselves except deny any dignity to anyone else.
fourth rate hack. 🙄 why’s he for the wealth protector, anyway? he’s got no wealth to speak of. asshat! 🙄
That’s just plain STUPID. What a degenerate prick.
Did any of “You people” catch the beginning of Martin Bashir show with Karen Finley and that other guy , the guy I can’t think of his name but he talked of that NY Times price of trash poll and he said he didn’t agree with it.
I meant to say NY Times piece of trash poll.
This guy question that NY Times poll just like you all did.
Julian Epstein is the pundit’s name and he is always strongly for PBO.
”I personally have a lot faith in President Obama that he represents and tries to embody the religious freedom and respect this country represents.”
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/07/seattle-mormons-say-romney-doesnt-represent-them/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
Just WOW! Thx UT. Well, these Mormons do have the truth and facts on their side..More POWER to Them!
Alter just said that Romney is AHEAD on every issue except foreign policy.
I can’t take much more of this media malpractice.
Alter is horrible, lies His ass off! Some People hide lies in some truth, Alter is just a boldfaced liar!
The recently released Pew poll had PBO ahead in every category but the deficit.
What has come over Alter?
BOUGHT!!!
Of the 15/16 issues the PEW polled on, all But the deficit and job creation.
Those who tweet should tweet to correct both Ezra Klein and Jonathan Alter. These are how lies get cemented and people wind up believing the lies. We have to refute the lies, always.
Yesterday Tweety let Rick Santorum’s campaign manager say that PBO has passed the highest tax increase ever.
Tweety said nothing.
But where are the Obama Team since Tuesday? Where have they disappeared to?
They have got to press on and push for what they are driving……Where was one pres Obama’s surrogate on any TV/Cable or radio today?
Good Questions to put to the CORPORATEMEDIAWHORE$$$$$$ WHO DRIVE THE NARRATIVE.
Linda, I’m with you. may have to turn off MSNBC
Alter Needs PushBack..course his thin lying skin cannot take it!
Poll: robney needs to release his tax returns-
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/polls/238989-poll-majority-of-americans-say-romney-should-turn-over-more-tax-returns
Sorry Ny Times!
Have I said how outraged I am?
The Hill-
Just saw a Twitter comment that Ann made her “you people” comment to Robin Roberts, but she wouldn’t have said that to someone of a different ethnic background…
Thanks for reporting in, MK. You always slice right to the heart of the matter. 🙂
The President in Jacksonville-
http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/07/19/2902170/president-barack-obama-visits.html
I personally wouldn’t put anything past Netanyahu because I do not trust him.
http://www.veteranstoday.com/2012/07/18/breakingunconfirmed-sec-clinton-assassination-attempt-in-israel/
I see now that it’s been updated on the site to “confirmed.”

Thanks JER. I must say that camera person completely botched the takeoff. They focused the camera straight up to the sky and completely missed AF1.
And now the mic is hot and they’re not aware. Sheesh….
I just want to thank all of you for your bday wishes. It’s actually been a really annoying week in Library Land. You guys are aces!
Oh I missed it earlier. Happy Birthday LL. May you be blessed with many, many more!
YES! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! The So Cali Contingent should take you for cocktails!
We should totally try to do it next weekend. It would be a blast! Tomorrow spousal unit and I are heading up to Cambria.
Oh sweet!! What about BRUNCH on the 29th???
Ugh, can’t, I’m phonebanking.
hahahahahaha@spousal unit…..hahahahaha
Happy Birthday LL.
How’d I miss your birthday? I’m so sorry to be late… HAPPY BIRTHDAY LL !!! 🙂 🙂 I hope you’ve had a good day & wishing you an outstanding evening~
i am sorry i missed saying Happy Birthday LL. You bring so much to this wonderful TOD family and to Twitter. Hope you have a great day!
I’m really interested in this question, but haven’t seen much to give me an answer. According to this pollsters should be calling 34% cell phone only house holds who favor PBO by 20% to gather accurate data for their polls. I doubt any of them are calling that high a number of cell households.
Hard to see how they can get accurate polls. I never answer my phone if I don’t recognize the caller ID and know I am not the only one to do so.
We’re the same way. Recognize the caller ID…..answer. Don’t recognize….don’t answer. I bet Lots of people are that way.
hmmmm, is it ….the devil?
And healthcare for life? And on and on and on….
Where is Martin Bashir? I wish he would hurry back.
Hmmmm….interesting.
Well I’m really curious to see what MAvericky McCain has to say tonight on Piers. Something tells me he’s going to make things WORSE, not better, for Willard.
Fine by me!
McCain did not see year in which tax amnesty a possibility (2009)
I doubt it hopefruit. McCain hates President Obama so much that he will do everything to help Romney. He may have been promised a job in the Romney Administration. May be he wants to be Sec. of State, or Sec. of Defense.
Let’s get #ReasonsRomneyWontReleaseTaxReturns to trend!!!
I must say, Tweety is letting that Johnathan guy have it today in defense of President Obama.
REally! Do tell more, please. There’s some out here who don’t even own one of those tvs.
Yesss. Sweet!!
Tally, that’s correct, and likely one of the reasons he does not want the type of scrutiny he’s already experienced upon releasing just one partial tax return – 2010.
As noted yesterday ….
Upon reflection, perhaps it’s lose & go to jail, if he does release the returns vs just lose, if he doesn’t. He’s such a spineless wimp, I’ll not be the least surprised if he withdraws.
Today’s revised version – inspired by Tally 🙂
even the annoying orange agrees that michelle bachman’s comments about ms clinton’s aide were ‘pretty dangerous’.

more on bachman–this one’s pretty funny.

What time is this scheduled to be?
OOps, sorry I didn’t get back yesterday to see comment. Anyway, we’ll all be able to see Gabby at the Olympics very soon. Very impressive young lady.
Greetingssssssss everyone…..i hope everyone had a great day
Birthday Greetings….LL….have a wonderfully wonderful weekend….

OFA opens 3 new offices in Virginia-
http://www.wavy.com/dpp/news/virginia/obama-campaign-opens-3-offices-in-va
Do you think that it will be seen as whining for the President and Dems to point out how the GOP Congress have sabotaged the econonmy,,,do you think that ordinary people see this…
They do and a lot of this stuff will cone out during the debates. The Republicans hate the truth!
Btw- that Jobs council was terrible idea anyways. The WH knows the CEOs they picked, all they wanted were tax cuts and no regulations.
Thus, no meetings!
That is the truth…
Jovie…the American Jobs Act was a result of meetings with the Jobs Council…….
That was not my point. Nevermind!
You can read more here (there’s a link to the full report from the Council on this page): http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2012/01/17/president-obama-meets-council-jobs-and-competitiveness

Knowing Gallup, the real number may be closer to 64%, but I’ll take the 54%.
Put that in your platinum pipe and smoke it, mrs willard ..of the Lying Rat Willards.
Important to note:
Daily kos has busted RCP for doing that in the past……
They also caught Gallop changing their methodology during the summer of 2010 to favor the Republicans
Interesting. C-Span3 is playing Romney’s Wednesday event ahead of President Obama’s at 6:20. I think they purposely do this to allow us to more easily compare the two. All the better for us.
DAMN!!! The outsourcing bill almost made it, 56-42. That is close. Scott Brown, Collins and Snowe joined all Democrats.

This is so true.
So, Hannity went after Rev Al and MSNBainC stuck up for Al-

I don’t comment on POTUS’ swagger.. er physical attributes much.. but I’m watching him greet folks off the plane- and well maybe I need my own naughty mat Chips 😉 http://www.cbsnews.com/liveFeed/widget.shtml
Welcome.
Lol, theo – thanks, lol.
okay, google news is now showing the headline, ‘ann romney: we’ve given all you people need to know’.
so they’re including the ‘you people’ quote now.
…and now they’ve taken it down.
Excellent comment theo… that video of POTUS really hit me too saying- I work for you.. and I have nothing nice to say about Ms. Romney, not a word.
all true–except she hasn’t been in that racist church as long as her husband. she converted to the lds when she was 17 and in love with myth r’money. then he went off to missionize france, and she went too. then she majored in french at byu. besotted much? anyway, she came from a secular-christian household. her brother and her mother later converted to lds, but the father refused to join. after he died, the r’moneys converted him posthumously. all in wikipedia.
I’d actually forgotten about her late conversion, and then her approval to baptize her father posthumously. Thanks for clarifying!
yes, she’s even worse than we thought! she chose this garbage, as an educated young woman. no excuses.
