Gov. Bob McDonnell (R-VA) just told Mrs. Greenspan Willard was going to the UK and Israel to “shore up” our relations with world leaders. She offered no push back or questions about what he meant.

Do you think Mitt has some money store in UK and Israel?

So now when this asshole gets back from fucking up the relationships that President Obama has established, President Obama is going to have to go back and un-fuck the relationships that Romney fucked up.

Bill, that woman is useless. A sane person would have laughed in McDonnell’s face and asked what in world a lame, failed governor like him could do to shore up anything, much less the solid relationships with world leaders that PBO has built over the last three years.

Saw Mitchell on Chris Matthews weekend show yesterday. She said she worked for a past GOP adm (Ford, maybe? The administration’s name went in one ear and out the other), but I thought, “that, plus her husband, explains a lot about her). I really wish Rachel Maddow wouldn’t speak of her in such glowing terms, but I guess that’s the price you pay to have your own show.

I ran across this video and thought it might be a good candidate for the Can Mitt Match This meme.

    Can Mitt Match This?

President Obama demonstrates that he values ALL women by signing the Tribal Law and Order Act, a law that gives tribal authorities greater authority to prosecute and punish criminals. July 29, 2010

A couple of notes about this video:

Lisa Iyotte’s introduction will rip tears out of you. President Obama’s compassion toward her as struggles to begin it, warmed my heart.
Beyond the extremely crime-fighting elements in the Act, the President also mentioned this:

“We’ve also included a permanent reauthorization of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act in the healthcare reform legislation we passed this spring (2010).” — that would be a reference to the Affordable Care Act, which we all know now is constitutional.

      Pretty cool.

Thanks for bringing this reminder to the blog. Once again it underlines that our president is a good man; one who says what he means, keeps his promises, and has compassion for and a deep understanding of the millions he serves. We are so blessed to have him.

One of the 50 documentaries to see before you die that Current TV is running is about rapes on Indian Reservations..

It was heart wrenching to watch.

As a Native American woman I know the tribes in the US really appreciate PBO. I attended a National Native American Education Conference (NIEA) the fall of 2008 when the Presidential campaign was in full swing in Seattle, WA. The conferences are supposedly bipartisan and invited both candidates to attend. A Native American woman from AZ was supposed to represent McCain at the conference and speak for him. She was absent and sent a letter to another representative there to read. Senator Obama was unable to attend but sent a video message that was very well received. The crowd was very receptive and animated after his message was played. I know our Tribal Chair has been very pleased with the people chosen by PBO to represent us as well as the actions taken since PBO has been in office.

Mittens Impossible: Romney Bombs on Fox News

    By: Jason Easley

    —————————————-

Everything was going fine for Mitt Romney on Fox and Friends. Gretchen Carlson and crew were mixing lies about President Obama with his campaign’s talking points. Everything was just dandy for Mitt, until the topic of his tax returns came up.
    .
    .
At that moment, Romney managed to do the impossible. He became a Republican who bombed on Fox News. Here is what the Romney campaign doesn’t grasp. The media has now gotten a hold of the tax returns issue, and they are demanding answers. (No, Mitt. Trying to change the subject to Fast and Furious is not going to work.)
    .
    .
Mitt Romney’s answer to Eric Bolling was an admission that he can’t use his tax returns to go on the offensive against Obama. The best that he can do is to try and change the subject. Fox News threw Mitt Romney softballs for seven minutes, and on the most important meatball over the heart of the plate, he struck out swinging.

Way To Go, Myth! Now even the dumbest among us will see you for what you really are! Well done, indeed! So, who wants a fool in the White House? Been there, done that.

I think you’ll like this. It’s the song “Come on Baby, light my fire,” but the words say, “Mitt’s a liar.” Great fun.

Mitt Romney’s Claim That Shrinking The Government Will Help Americans Isn’t Rational

    By Steven Strauss, Harvard University

    —————————————–

Mitt Romney’s shibboleth that shrinking government helps the American people — isn’t based on any rational analysis of costs and benefits. Government isn’t a parasite destroying the American economy. Government is the provider of public goods (infrastructure, education, police, safety standards, etc.) that the private sector can’t or won’t provide. If citizens select lower taxes, smaller government and less regulation, they’ll get: less infrastructure, fewer police, teachers and inspectors, resulting in worse outcomes.

This isn’t a universal defense of every government employee or program. Nor am I claiming that bigger government is always better government. Government programs should be evaluated, and terminated (or restructured), if they aren’t efficiently serving taxpayer needs.
