Hey hey Ms ChipsChica. Awww another cheek to bury my face into. What a doll. Thanks for that.

I’ve noticed that even in your absence you’re working. Unlike Mitt who was present at Bain but claims not to be working for it for 3 whole years.

😆 No work for a week LunarSea, I’m now in full chill-out/nothing-to-do-but-relax mode – as Willard will be after November.

No worries about Myth, he is used to being unemployed, the campaign was just a little diversion to pass the time. Pretty soon he’s going to try to take credit for the economy recovering due to him and all his billionaires throwing money against PBO…. interesting as well there has been nothing at all in the way of news about now gas prices are still dropping, and in mid-summer too!

Chips that is simply amazing. I love those pictures of that super cute little girl, and this one with a super cute baby. You just know he loves kids and they instinctively love him back. I love this campaign season because we get to see so many great pictures and they just show his character, kindness, and lovability. Sigh.

I totally agree!!! I just LOVE how his team is KICKING ASS, and the MSM is having to follow this Bain story because PBO and his team are driving the narrative! It’s SO great.

            Indeed…Chipssssss….

he said in his CBS interview (which I missed) that he should have been better at laying out the story….the narrative…about his policy for the American People….that he thought having the right policy was enough….but he has made up for it since last year…beginning with his introduction of the American Jobs Act….and taking his story to the people.. talking to them directly….interviewing with local media….it is so necessary for the people to see the President…up close and personal

            This is OUR PRESIDENT…

            Pressssssssssssss ON!!!!

Proud, I am in Indiana as well. I want to get involved with the Obama campaign and just connect with some like minded people in Indianapolis. Can you give me some info as to where I can go to get involved?

          • July 15, 2012 at 3:45 pm

Hi, Donna! Thanks for your interest in getting involved. Indiana needs you!

There are 3 ways you can get started. Go to the OFA website:

            http://www.barackobama.com/index.php

Once you get to the main page, you’ll see a banner near the top where can click on:

            1) “State” to see what’s going on in your own state
            2) “Groups” to see if they are any affinity groups you’d like to join
            3) “Volunteer” to send your name into OFA for a local to contact you

You can also call OFA (312-698-3670 ) to find out who your state, regional and local field directors are if you.

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes or if you need any further help.

            http://www.barackobama.com

click on the “volunteer” button and then the “find event” button. Put in your zip code and it will direct you to events in your area.

          • 44 proudofobama
            July 15, 2012 at 3:49 pm

Absolutely, Donna. The field office is at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Indianapolis. Open six days a week. Closed on Sunday. You can drop in anytime to find out about events. We really need volunteers to help with voter registration, especially for the free concert featuring Gladys Knight. You can sign up for that here:

            https://my.barackobama.com/page/event/detail/dayofaction/gp9qpp

All events for Indiana are listed on http://www.barackobama.com (under volunteer, then events)

We appreciate all the help we can get.

If you want to communicate with me directly, perhaps we can exchange email addresses through Chips.

I was reading comments all over the place…..I had to copy this one I saw in kos, it’s something I never thought about, even if obviously I know about these events like everybody else but I never made a connection.

So since lying Romney says that he wasn’t involved in anything with Bain after 99, well except being the sole owner, share holder, president and all that stuff….no meetings, no nothing, no involment in any ways…

    So……

This comment makes so much sense:

    remember a few things about 2000-2? (23+ / 0-)

    There was:
    1. Y2K scare, that had everybody worrying about their savings vanishing overnight.
Romney didn’t check up on his money at Bain during this time?
    2. There was a recession involving the dot-com bust. Stocks took a beating.
Romney didn’t check up on his money at Bain during this time?
    3. 9/11. world trade center destroyed. Massive chaos. Stocks dive worse than in 2000.
Romney didn’t check up on his money at Bain during this time?
    4. Ramp up to Iraq war. Hundreds of billions of dollars move in advance of hostilities, to fill emergency contracts, and divest from doomed Iraqi regime.
Romney didn’t check up on his money at Bain during this time, either? Really??

Sorry, no way in hell that happened.
The context of that time period destroys any attempt at pretending Romney was blithely unattached from Bain Capital.
    It needs to be repeated.

Class war has consequences, and we are living them.

So just how has everyone been. Haven’t posted in a while but do check in regularly to keep up and pass info along to all who would listen as well as those who won’t.

I have been enjoying this week (or month) quite immensely. Loving the ‘define him early’ strategy of the ObamaBiden campaign. I heard what PBO said about politics trumping good policy. Sad commentary on our society but what we’ve devolved to in the world of sound bite journalism and reality shows. Sounds like the admin has accepted this and has changed strategy accordingly. Good on them, shame on us.

Don’t you just love the freakout from the right? It’s a thing of beauty. Now if only the dems who suffer from Sharon Tate syndrome would be re-programmed to not cower before the bullies. Well, one can hope.

It still pisses me off that outside of the campaign people not many dems out there highlighting all the good this admin (and the 111 congress) has done. Most are still leaving it to PBO and his team. To which I say: “COWARDS :!:”

There are some: O’Malley, Patrick Duval, Antonio Villaragosa, Ted Strickland, Krystal Ball, Karen Finney, Bob Shrum, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid (the last 2 just starting to speak out 4 PBO’s policies this past week) and Bill Clinton.

      • 82 LunarSea
        July 15, 2012 at 4:22 pm

Yes they are all great at standing on their accomplishments. In comparison to how many dems there are in congress it’s a pretty pathetic number, but they are fierce warriors whom I admire.

And I just love Ms Pelosi. The best damn Speaker I have ever seen. I don’t think she has been given near the amount of credit she deserves for getting HCR passed. I thought she deserved to walk to that podium with POTUS and VPOTUS when they made the announcement of the passage.

While Rahm and others were trying to convince PBO to take a lot less and make it seem like more, Ms Nancy (as I like to call her, respectively) went to PBO and said something along the lines of Let’s go for it, you’ve already expended all this capital and I’ll make sure you have the votes. (can’t remember where I read about it)

She was the ‘stand your ground’ queen of that fight. I only hope history gives her the credit due her. She was the only one who gave PBO the strong backing he needed to whip all the whimps into shape and get this bill over the line. One of many reason why the right hates her.

        Good ole Nancy Smash

    http://www.politicususa.com/republicans-nervous-mitt-romneys-arrogance-give.html

Republican strategist Mary Matalin was arguing that Americans don’t care about Romney’s tax returns, they care about jobs (no one asked her why Republicans have not proposed one single jobs bill or how Romney’s plan of lowering taxes on the top 2^% was going to magically create jobs). What Matalin and the GOP hope you don’t put together is that actually, Mitt Romney’s tax returns hold the secret to why you don’t have a good, secure job with benefits.

Ten years of Mitt Romney’s tax returns and his off-shore accounts would show Americans just how it works for the very elite, but perhaps the most clarity for all would come from Romney releasing his 1999-2003 tax returns. In these returns, we would ostensibly see (provided this money wasn’t funneled to the Cayman’s as some Bain investments were) the profit Romney made off of leveraged buyouts and the resulting layoffs and outsourcing.

The more scarce good jobs in this country became, the less leverage a worker has. Low demand for workers in turn created a “buyer’s market” for employers, which in turn means less money, security and benefits for the worker. This was going on at the same time as the top 2% were making historical profits.

    • 97 LunarSea
      July 15, 2012 at 3:25 pm

“Republican strategist Mary Matalin was arguing that Americans don’t care about Romney’s tax returns, they care about jobs” Yet when we talk about jobs they change the subject real quick. That’s why we need to keep hammering away on the lack of jobs related bills coming out of the House. 33votes on repealing ObamaCares but 0 on jobs.

Don’t know if this would work, if not here’s the link: http://www.dems.gov/blog/gop-no-job-clock

      • 98 anniebella
        July 15, 2012 at 4:21 pm

What folks like Matalin don’t get is we can care about jobs, and care about honesty and trust too.

        • 99 LunarSea
          July 15, 2012 at 4:32 pm

We also care that while he was head of Bain he was shipping jobs overseas.

That is what this whole ‘who was at the helm from 1999 to 2002’ debate stems from. This encompasses that period where Bain closed factories and bankrupted companies, shipped jobs overseas and walked off with millions in profits.

Meaning he may be good for business (read that hedge funds) but not exactly good for a country that is screaming for jobs. Can an outsourcer in chief be declared a great job creating machine? So yes he needs to clear things up if this is his calling card for how skilled he would be at creating AMERICAN jobs.

Gotta say, so far, not looking to good.

    • July 15, 2012 at 3:35 pm

Someone wrote on the previous thread toward the end that the tax release is about the SEC and this maybe true. But I think its more about how this so called family/religious man could make some of the investment choices as a CEO, President, manager, and 100% share owner and make a hefty profit off things you say you despise…

I remember other politicians and analysts questioning WILLARD MITT ROMNEY’S core. He’s like a crack dealer who gets the money but doesn’t accept any blame for how the drug destroys families…

I just saw this comment….Simply google Romney tax return, and look through the documents. You will find that Bain had 1 office in the US, and 5 offshore. Caymans, Barbados, Switzerland (twice) and others. If….on his tax returns for 2010…..he claimed income to his holdings at Bain in Switzerland, that is not US income, and not taxable in the US.

Rudy Giuliani the former N.Y. Mayor said that Mitt Romney was a man without a core. Newt said Mitt was a liar. Newt also said that if you notice Mitt spends his time tearing the other guy down, he doesn’t spend his time building up Mitt Romney. Those are two Republicans. There is no building up Mitt Romney, how can you build someone up who has no principals, no character, no core. This guy says poor people are jealous of rich people. He says he is not going to apologize for being rich, no need to apologize for being rich, but he could be alittle humble, he could talk of how bless he feel he have been. By that would come from someone with a heart, Mitt Romney doesn’t have one unless it’s for other rich people.

I think the reason why members of McCain camp including Grumpy gramps himself aren’t on da shows is because they know they will be asked if there is nothing int the tax forms, then why won’t he release them? can u imagine “ok Steve, you’ve see the returns is what’s in them worth the effort of keeping them secret?” none if the McCain camp wants to answer that question

Very good point lamh35! Still, if we had a genuine press, interested in disseminating TRUTH to the American people, they could still track down McCain and all the members of his staff involved in vetting Mitt Romney of VP and ask them the question you posed. Nospin, that was the first thing about this beautiful little one that caught my eye. The president connected with her eyes. It was just an awesome moment to take into our space.

Thanks our beautiful Chips. You keep me out of my meds box(for the pain) for many many many hours. This place gives me much peace and comfort. (((((( I love you all so dearly))))))HZ

I saw earlier that Karl Rove line of attack for the contraversy about Romney excuse Leave of absence, partial of whatever….he said, Steve Jobs took a leave a absence and noone questionned that he didn’t take part in the company decisions.

First, there’s a big difference when you are fighting for your life and all the little energy that you have is focus on that.

Not the case for Romney was it? …but someone replaced Steve Jobs, Tim …something…..who replaced Romney?….that’s the question.

Karl Rove with his ugly ass self ought to go jump off the highest cliff he can fine.

    • July 15, 2012 at 4:47 pm

      Christi,

Didn’t hear Rove’s despicable comment, but he’s equating apples and oranges.

If R-money had been CEO of a firm that actually created something, there would be no question that the chain of command/accountability would have to be clearly defined. Also, Apple is publicly held and accountable to shareholders; Bain is privately held, and R-money demonstrated that he consistently wants to have it as many ways as it takes to benefit him (without accountability).

For Rove to equate the visionless R-money with Steve Jobs, who knew what he wanted and how to get it, is gob-smackingly senseless.

Arapaho, the financial markets are filled with Romneys–people who work slick deals to feed off other companies and bring them down while they pocket the profits. Steve Jobs was unique–a one-of-a-kind visionary and genius who actually created original products that met needs people didn’t even realize they had. There may never be another Steve Jobs. Robneys, however, are a dime a dozen.

35 Questions Mitt Romney Must Answer About Bain Capital Before The Issue Can Go Away

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/tjwalker/2012/07/14/35-questions-mitt-romney-must-answer-about-bain-capital-before-the-issue-can-go-away/

    ======================================================================================================

Mitt R-money is acting in such an obfuscatory way. He needs to reveals everything just as other presidents, his father, and the current President. Mitt has to prove that he has not earned his money illegally.

A birth certificate which the President produced was/is a top priority to Mitt’s Base. So wouldn’t it only be fair for Mitt to be forthcoming with his documents?

Sooner or later R-money has to be forthcoming if he doesn’t want this Bain Capital thing to snowball.

Keep up the good work chips. Everyone have a nice day. 🙂

So it took them 2-3 years to negotiate a departure/retirement? It does not take that long for someone to transfer the reins of a company. Conard also says that Mitt never came back for a meeting: that is not what Romney told MA when he wanted to be eligible to run for Governor! There are multiple levels of lies apparently with the Bain issue. I hope Romney is cooked, I hope he goes to jail; I think he is a felon and as someone said yesterday, what is good for Martha Stewart is good for Mitt Romney!

        July 15, 2012 at 5:33 pm

Daisy, Martha Stewart is a Democrat and a woman–that’s why she got nailed. No legal charges will ever be brought against Willard, but we can make him look like the sleazy liar he is. The president and his team and the brilliant ads are doing a lot to define Robney for voters, but we have to seal the deal. Start telling everyone you know about the real lying Romney. Talk about it on the phone, in the grocery store or wherever you go. Make it part of the general conversation about the campaign. Write LTEs about it. Make sure the sleaze image doesn’t die. Just like the dollar a day campaign, our individual actions can make a huge difference. The president has passed us the torch. Let’s get out there and run with it.

President Obama dismissed suggestions that young voters who backed him in 2008 were less enthusiastic this election cycle, saying that he believed they wanted to “finish what we started.”

In an interview with local Washington D.C. station WJLA released Sunday, the president predicted young voters would again rally behind his presidency.

Michelle Obama fundraises in New York
By DONOVAN SLACK | 7/15/12 3:20 PM EDT
First lady Michelle Obama was in New York on Sunday raising money for her husband’s reelection campaign at the Stone Barns Center for Food and
    Agriculture in Pocantico Hills.

The brunch reception the Blue Hill restaurant at the center on Sunday drew about 120 guests at $1,500 per person, according to a pool report.

Obama told attendees that she wants them to continue making phone calls and knocking on doors and that when they talk about President Obama, the first thing they need to talk about is the economy

“And truly, from now until November — and the time is getting shorter — Barack is going to need everyone to get out there and to remind people about our values. Remind them what’s at stake, what we’re fighting for. Tell them about this vision, and about everything that’s at stake this election.

“And I want you to start with the economy,” she said. “You can start by telling people how Barack fought for tax cuts for working families and small businesses because he understands that an economy built to last truly starts with the middle class and with folks who are creating jobs and putting people back to work.

“I want you to remind people how back when Barack first took office — I say this everywhere I go — remind people that this economy was losing an average of 750 jobs every single month.  That’s what he inherited.  That’s what welcomed him after that wonderful, cold inauguration day. But also let people know that for the past 28 straight months, we’ve actually been gaining private sector jobs — more than 4 million jobs in just two years.”

Her stump speech reflects the difficult message the Obama campaign has been trying to convey — that things are better — but that has also drawn criticism for failing to resonate at a time when millions remain out of work. So far, Team Obama seems unswayed by such criticism as both Michelle and President Obama continue to tout job gains.

      July 15, 2012 at 5:11 pm

I wish I could let Donovan Slack know that I’m sure the criticism is coming from the Republicans, the very ones who have sit on their asses and done nothing to help this economy, they have done everything they could to sabotage this economy. The Republicans who block the President’s jobs bill which could have put millions back to work. The Republicans who hasn’t pass one jobs bill because they want people to be out of work, they want the economy to be in bad shape, and it is a bunch of low down dirty rats who will play politics with people lives. This president have done a dam good job considering the B.S. he has had to deal with from those right wing extreme nasty tea party Republicans. That is just some of what I would tell Donovan Slack.

    • July 15, 2012 at 5:57 pm

The economy was losing 750,000 jobs a month when Obama took over. (I’m sure it was just a typo above—-just clarifying)

President Obama’s agenda for a second term includes bringing peace to the Middle East.

“I have not been able to move the peace process forward in the Middle East the way I wanted,” he said in an interview with WJLA, the ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C. “It’s something we focused on very early. But the truth of the matter is, that the parties, they’ve got to want it as well.”

Obama also pointed to strengthening the economy and passing comprehensive immigration reform as goals for a second term. “We’ve got a lot of work to do, especially in rebuilding our middle class here in this country but ultimately it’s going to require people coming together and Congress working with the executive branch.”

The president dished on his campaign trail experience, telling WJLA that while his chief complaint about travel is missing his family, he sometimes ends up regretting the food he eats. “When you’re on the road, you end up eating a lot of stuff that tastes really good at the time but later on in the day can catch up with you,” he said.

He also sometimes has some back trouble from beds he sleeps in while on the road. “I’m now getting to the age where being in my own bed” is his preference “as opposed to some other bed, [which] is not always great for my back,”  he said.

WJLA and POLITICO share a corporate parent, Allbritton Communications.

It’s a rare thing of beauty. Everything Willard has touched has turned into pure Mitt.

Bain: ‘I owned it, but I don’t own any of the decision made while I owned it.

The Olympics: ‘I have no problem with this year’s Olympic uniforms being outsource to China, after all when I did the Olympics they were made in Canada. By the way that would make me an outsourcer after 1999 but I still want the Obama administration to apologize for saying I was an outsourcer after 1999.

Governor of MA: 47th out of 50 in job creation.

Romneycare: ‘It was made possible because of a mandate. A mandate was a penalty when I did it but it’s a tax when the President does it. It doesn’t matter anyway because the tea party won’t let me run on the one thing I did right in Massachusetts.’

All this karma could not have happened to a more venal, dishonest, NAACP boo-baiting politician.

Not much makes me laugh. This made me laugh http://angryblackladychronicles.com/wp-content/upl

Also, I accidentally flipped TV to Fox this morning and caught Joe Sestak (the weasel) say that negative ads don’t work I guess Fox News is all that Sestak has going for him now.

Finally, CBS Weekend Roundup (radio) completely “justified” R-money’s SEC filings, basically said “nothing to see here, move along.” The reporter said he had spoke to Wall St-types and that being CEO doesn’t mean you manage operations at a company. It drives me nuts that MSM don’t also point out that Bain is privately held, and was owned by a single person who was also 100% of the shareholders).

Knowing the Romneys, they didn’t think any one would notice if they erased “0” from 20 to make it 2. In a way the Romney campaign is right about one segment: the media. The MSM, and especially the broadcast media, never notices Romney’s lies.

    Good evening everyone!!
That little girl with the blue flower in her hair, won the heart of the President and many others.

After seeing Stephanie ‘The Cutter’, all I can say is damn I’m glad she’s on our side. I saw a couple of Republicans who sent out tweets criticizing the GOP mouthpiece that was on the panel with her. They were also criticizing Ed Gillespee appearance on MTP, as they put it, neither of these guys were up to the task today. They went on to say, these guys should’ve been ready for this line of questioning.

Hello to everyone one at this awesome site. If ever you question the effectiveness of your contribution to inform readers of the wonderful work President Obama is doing, let me allay your concerns.

Last evening, around 9pm, I went to the supermart just down the road from my house. The owners and I are good friends. The wife, who mostly manages the business had told me that this returning Montserratian Adventist lay preacher kept coming to her store and bashing President Obama. It so happened that he arrived there last evening the same time I did and he proceeded to malign POB. Needless to say, I jumped to POB’s defence and we engaged in a heated debate. It was amazing to hear the misinformation he was spewing out. Now, someone who has no information about POB’s achievements since he took office would be easily swayed by his words. But, armed with the information I gather from this blog, I knocked down every false accusation he made – from political to personal to religious.

Before he left, I had him agreeing that POB has been the USA’s most successful President in a century and that he is going to be re-elected on November 6th. I also told him to check the source of information he is given before he repeats it.

Most importantly, I showed the owner of the supermart how to deal with false information about POB and I recommended this blog. She too is a POB supporter. Thank you Chips for making it available to all who love this great man and his family.

(either way is fine with me). Do you suppose Ron Paul will try to depose Romney at the Rep. Convention? That’d be fun to watch……
