HOUSTON (AP) — U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is scheduled to speak at the NAACP convention in Houston. That’s as the group launches a battle against voter ID laws that they contend will reverse gains made during the tumultuous civil rights era.
Holder was originally scheduled to speak Monday but cancelled at the last minute. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People says he will address the group on Tuesday.
NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous likened the fight against conservative-backed voter ID laws passed in several states to “Selma and Montgomery times,” referring to historic Alabama civil rights confrontations of the mid-1960s.
He challenged those attending the annual convention to redouble to get out the vote in November.

If done this way and handed in through the local groups would that mean people won’t impact their individual contribution amounts? I hope so. Yes – it’s very sad amk. My opinion of the US skyrocketed during 08 and when PBO was elected the world was so happy. It makes my blood boil to see the casual disrespect thrown at the President – right and left alike. But he’s tough – he’s doing like Jackie Robinson and Willie Mayes – it’s always hard to be the first. I feel for all the AA’s in the US – I can never ever understand the pain they have gone through over the years but just want all to know we love you and root for you – in all fields and endeavors. PBO is just totally alpha and superior to all he has had to compete against – that’s what mediocre people (including journalists) can’t handle – it’s knowing he knows that they are mediocre at their core. If there is any justice in the world PBO will crush that entitled Willard – who will never, ever know what it’s like to be great.

When House Republicans vote for the 31st time tomorrow to kill the entirety of the law — that’s literally the number, not a figure exaggerated for humor — they’ll no doubt give a lot of speeches boasting that “the American people” are on their side. But public attitudes are far more complex than the right chooses to believe — support for the law has gone up and the provisions within the law remain quite popular. Less than a third of the country actually likes the Republican proposal to scrap every letter of the law.
Indeed, while there’s little doubt the 31st House vote on repealing the health care law will go exactly the same way as the first 30 House votes — it’s going to pass — it’s been interesting to watch the ground shift a bit in the wake of the high court ruling. Republicans still hate the law, of course, but the bigger picture has become more complicated.

The couple sit for a couple of months and begin to wonder if they really should get married in Heaven, what with the eternal aspect of it all. “What if it doesn’t work out?” they wonder, “Are we stuck together forever?” St. Peter returns after yet another month, looking somewhat bedraggled. “Yes,” he informs the couple, “you can get married in Heaven.” “Great,” says the couple, “but what if things don’t work out? Could we also get a divorce in Heaven?”
St. Peter, red-faced, slams his clipboard onto the ground. “What’s wrong?” exclaims the frightened couple. “Geez!” St. Peter exclaims, “It took me three months to find a priest up here! Do you have any idea how long it’s going to take for me to find a lawyer?”

It starts: To: Ann Romney,c/o RNC, so I circled “Ann Romney” and wrote…..is the biggest phony ever, next to her husband. I have NEVER contributed to the RNC and NEVER will. I am a registered true blue Democrat who voted for President Obama in 2008 and will PROUDLY vote for him again. Mitt is a Robber Baron. Do NOT send me any more of this junk mail.”
I know it will not have anyimpact, but it felt so good saying it! I don’t know how they got my name and address. It was not sent to Occupant.

I’ve found yet more instances where Romney made declarations to the SEC that he was still involved in running Bain after February 1999. To the best of my knowledge, no one has yet noted these.
The documents go into different aspects of Romney’s ownership of various Bain and Bain related assets. But in both Romney had to say what he currently did for a living.
Here are two SEC filings from July 2000 and February 2001 in which Romney lists his “principal occupation” as “Managing Director of Bain Capital, Inc.”
So, he either lied to the SEC, or he’s lying to America now. Either way, Willard has a pathological lying problem.
