Hiya Bob, it’s completely cool!!! I found you trapped in pending this morning, it was a very sad sight, but I opened the gate and you ran free in to the wild – I actually starting singing ‘Born Free’ loudly π
Sure hope you carry a tune better than my neighbor’s son’s ‘band’ that played in the backyard for 12 straight hours yesterday, of nerve-shattering noise, off key and no beat. I think my neighbor should be able to sue to malpractice to the expensive Chicago ‘art’ college that gave this kid a music degree.
I couldn’t tell if my dogs were more traumatized by the bad music or the fireworks.
I heard some jackass from the WSJ on Bill Press this morning opine that Obama only goes to ‘friendly’ areas of OH and other swing states. They also had TIm Ryan of OH on — a great surrogate and a great Democrat — who schooled the idiot that he assumed PBO would be back in OH before the election.
And when has Mittens or any other Republican faced their critics? How about ‘never’.
57andfemale, Mitt Romney only goes to FOX for interviews, and if he goes anywhere else it these interviews where he can get away with lying, or just not answering the questions like he did on Face the Nation. I hope President Obama continue to go to friendly places, I don’t want him to go anywhere near those racists radical hate fill Republicans.
Senator Brown is calling out the billionaires, big time … a theme that is going to play better each day as we approach the election by being unrelenting in tying every Republican to their #KOCHSTER roots and contrast them to those truly defending our Democracy, our Republic and the majority of American citizens.

No, I saw your question last week and searched threads but couldn’t find it. Haven’t been on much of late. Please email link to ruley.veterans@gmail.com. Thanks!

Tell me again how private companies do a better job? What BS this is! I’m showing this to my lifeguard daughter. She’ll be pissed. The fact that they paid this guy $8.25/hour to watch an entire swath of beach and save lives, is sinful. All about the profit, baby! All about the profit.
LL, can you Tweet # 154 info to Liz Smith/ Thanks…and you’re right about the agita…which will turn into a full blown case of severe acid reflux shortly!
OT: PBO’s joke about telling Malia when she was little that he arranged for all the fireworks for her past birthdays and how he can’t sell that anymore now that she’s older. A friend of mine tells the story of telling his daughter (as a joke) that they were going to Wally World for the summer…..when she told her classmates, they all laughed at her, apparently he did not think she would tell anyone else or that she did not know about the movie National Lampoon Family Vacation.
When he told me, I had no idea what he was talking about because I never watched the whole movie all the way through until recently. I always came in at the very beginning or middle of the movie but never watched it to the end.
That’s a fave movie in our fam. We still reference all the funny scenes and laugh again for the 1000th time. Just yesterday, in fact, I said “Want a cold one?” and handed a friend my half drunk beer, as Cousin Eddie so generously did in the movie.
Hey dotster3. I wish I can catch that movie and sit long enought to watch it all the way through without channel surfing. I have such a bad habit of channel surfing going back and forth between two different shows. I know, I should just get a dvr machine.
MAUMEE, Ohio (Reuters) – President Barack Obama took a shot against China and Republican rival Mitt Romney on Thursday, complaining to the World Trade Organization that Beijing is abusing trade laws by imposing more than $3 billion in duties on U.S. automobile exports.
“Americans aren’t afraid to compete,” Obama told an enthusiastic crowd in this northern Ohio city hours after his administration filed the complaint with the WTO. “As long as we’re competing on a fair playing field instead of an unfair playing field, we’re going to do just fine. We’re going to make sure that competition is fair.”
The Democratic president’s speech kicked off a two-day campaign bus tour aimed largely at blue-collar workers in Pennsylvania and Ohio, crucial battleground states in the November 6 presidential election.
Following a live blog at Sandusky newspaper and picking up some amusing tidbits. Some heard there were going to be protesters, but another said she just walked her dog in the park where Obama will appear and said there’s just 2 guys holding up a sign that says “Ice Cream Socialism”.
The Democratic Governors Association raised $11 million in the first six months of 2011, setting a record for the DGA but trailing well behind the fundraising of the Republican Governors Association.
The DGAβs $11 million intake doubles what the committee raised in the first half of 2007, when the same set of governorships were up for election. In that cycle, the DGA raised $5.38 million in the first six months of 2007 and ended the reporting period with $3.7 million in the bank.
This time, the DGA finished June with $8.6 million cash on hand for this yearβs elections in Kentucky, West Virginia, Louisiana and Mississippi, and the larger set of races coming in 2012.

Well, the RGA raised 22 million and has 16 million COH.
Good Day Chips and my TOD Family. It has been a long journey since Tues., morning. So much to catch up on with TODers. However, I first want to say, “((((((((((( Thank you all for keeping me in your thoughts, prayers and meditations.)))))))))))))) This was a serious procedure with my heart, but I have a Great heart specialist!!! The heart is even weaker than what we expected, But I do Not Give Up. Not HZ. A lot of good thoughts and supporters with your prayers also will keep me pushing forward.
I am still in a lot of pain, but a great nurse. I begged(really did) my cardiologist to give me a little time today. I was okayed by his office. Seriously. Not to be on very long were the directions. My wonderful angel of a nurse is so sweet, but very strict, but gave me time to write to my TOD family. She is blown away when she is reading the comments. “What a group of wonderful people still in the world,” were her words. Yes, thanks to our Chips.
Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I will only be able to continue to do my work for our beautiful POTUS, if I take it easy and follow the nurse. I Will Do that because this election is too important.
I want to shout out some love and hugs to others who are going through some medical journeys right now as well. I also want to thank all who help me with my fundraising page. It looks like that is all that I will be able to do for the next 6 weeks/ so thanks for keeping me going. I hope that I can reach $1000.
I miss you all so much that my nurse has to quiet my spirit with more meds because I beg to get the computer., but I will be a good patient. I am always, but we were not having a presidential relection during those time. Please lift me up in your prayers and thoughts. I miss you all so much. I love you Ms. Chips and All of my beautiful family here.((((Love, HZ))))
HZ I send you healing thoughts and prayers. PLEASE take care of yourself you are such a wonderful person. ((((hugs)))) to you.
God bless you and please know that you are loved greatly. Love Sam.
You are in my prayers HZ. I wish you a great recovery, but in the meantime, keep being careful. You are so precious to this board. Keep up your spirits.
Burton and Sweeneyβs creation now appears to be on relatively solid footing. As of late June, the super PAC has amassed a total of $40 million, with almost $20 million in the bank and about a dozen million-dollar donors onboard. Among the most recent is Qualcommβs co-founder Irwin M. Jacobs and his wife, Joan, newcomers to the world of political mega-giving, whom Burton and other Priorities surrogates spent a year courting in person, on the phone and by e-mail before the couple relented and gave $2 million. Prioritiesβ $100 million goal is within reach but by no means assured. βIn order to do that,β Ickes says, βweβre going to have go get some $5 million and $10 million donors.β Another Priorities representative says wistfully: βMaybe thereβs someone we never heard of. Is there a Charles Koch out there on our side?β
The story is also a great account of the shifting mind-set among Democrats on attacking Mitt Romney’s business record β which has gone from real discomfort over the idea of targeting Bain Capital, to recognition of the fact that the tactics seem to be working:
βTheyβre spending ridiculous amounts of money on the other side,β [potential donor] Amber Mostyn said. βAll the crazy commercials theyβre going to put up β how do you combat that?β
Burton was ready for this question. βYou donβt do it dollar for dollar,β he said. He whipped out his iPad and showed the Mostyns a few slides from his PowerPoint presentation. The slides included polling data indicating votersβ lack of familiarity with Romneyβs business record at the private-equity firm Bain Capital, as well as financial figures from the 2010 midterm election showing how well-spent donations could help a Democrat prevail over a better-financed Republican opponent.
Then Burton pulled up something else on his screen: raw video footage that Priorities intended to use for attack ads against Romney. Appearing were the somber images of several men and women who were laid off by Bain. The individuals were tracked down by Brennan Bilberry, the super PACβs 26-year-old research director, and persuaded to tell their stories on camera. One of these was a middle-aged paper-mill worker named Mike Earnest, who had been asked to help build a 30-foot stage that Bain officials would later stand upon while announcing to Earnest and other millworkers that they were being laid off. βTurns out that when we built that stage,β Earnest said in a flat Midwestern cadence, βit was like building my own coffin.β
Steve Mostyn was impressed by their research. He asked them what sort of donation they were talking about.
Bob!!! π you did it….congrats:)
Good day df! Thought I’d already be well down the stack π π

LOL that pic of Miss Ann fits her nasty personality!!
I’m sick to death of Ann just expecting the black boy to step aside and let her husband ascend (to the Presidency, to the Planet Kobal? I get confused). Mitt gets to lie every time he mentions PBO’s name but he should be nice to THEM? That would turn this country into a third world country?!?!
Lord have mercy but the man looks good in those khakis and that blue shirt.
He’d look good in a potato sack! Good genes and good heart does that.
Say on, say onn say on!
I think we are sporting a new shirt this morning!
You know, I don’t care what PBO wears! He could go shirtless for all I care. π
I would care very much to see him shirtless. π
Okay, Dudette, you are right. I can see now how I should be concerned about PBO getting sunburned. I take it back. Keep your shirt on, Mr. P
Okay. Okay. My face is hurting from the grin! I’m holding up my jaws. Fired up! π π
4 More Years!
Looks like that crowd isn’t letting the heat bother them—-they’re fired up and chanting “4 More Years!”
Chips, would you please post this speech as soon as possible. Can’t view it on any of my devices(:
Just checking in to say “HI!” to the fam. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday. My 10 year old grandson, Lance, is lurking right now. Please give him a big ole TOD welcomeHe’s a big Obama supporter. His visit ends tomorrow and he is a little ticked because as I’ve been on bed rest, we’ve not been able to volunteer during this visit. Guess GrandΓ©e will have to bring him back before school starts so that he can pull a few shifts.
HELLLLLOOOOOOOO, Lance!! Four more years for President Obama!!!!
Hey Lance – we like Obama supporters of all ages here at TOD!
Hey Lance! π
Hello Lance!! I’m saying hi from all the way in Jamaica and we are very big President Obama fans here. π
Hi Alycee’s Grandson! Welcome to TOD!
Hope you’re taking good care of your GrandΓ©e while you’re visiting (and having a little fun)!
Glad to see you’re interested in being a good citizen and keeping up with what our greatest public servant, President Obama, is doing on our behalf. Your GrandΓ©e is proud of you and so are we! π
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
That’s Lance, I know that. Sorry. π π
Alycee,Have you seen the link for my daughter’s shave event when I have shared it? I know you wanted to donate.
No, I saw your question last week and searched threads but couldn’t find it. Haven’t been on much of late. Please email link to ruley.veterans@gmail.com. Thanks!
Got it. Will do when I get home to my laptop.
Hi Lance, welcome! π Don’t be ticked at not being able to go volunteering. We have to have GrandΓ©e Alycee well rested so that she can bounce back and be on track for when the Obama campaign heats up. Lance, you probably haven’t thought of it this way, but your being with Grandma at home this time was one way of supporting the President, because President Obama always reminds us that we are in this battle TOGETHER. Have a good summer!
Thanks for welcoming Lance. His reply to all is stuck in “TOD Jail”
Hi Lance, all the way from England! My 11 year old son is also a big time President Obama supporter along with me. Good to hear you are lurking. Enjoy the summer.
What a wonderful kid — Lance, you’re the future!
“Here you are in the heat!”—–not “losing interest” in the campaign as some are betting on.
Listen to them. Such a small base of support……NOT! Every time I see him speak somebody turns on me water works.
” Where’s Michelle ” ? How cute
Rude. The POTUS is there to speak to them. Don’t mind the group chants of 4 more years, but don’t like it when someone interrupts with yelling out anything that momentarily occurs to them.
Linda, I agree it was nice.

How respectful….
: In statement, Romney campaign refers to POTUS as “Candidate Obama.”
They are low class.
PBO is sweating. I wonder what is the temperature. π
In the upper 90’s.
Wow, it is overcast and a little cool here this morning in Southern Cal.
88, heading to a high of 98.
Mitt sets a bad example by not telling the truth.
you are right about that Lenny. That is certainly not a very good character trait in someone who wants to be the President of the United States.
ChristiMTL, they don’t want to show him any respect, that’s what that is all about.
I know anniebella, it’s sickening…..He is the President of the United States ….something the tax cheat will never be, never.
And not one Republican calls them on it. The entire party is a disgrace to everything this country stands for.
I volunteered when I was six. Hello thanks for the greetings
Wow! Well, thank you for helping us win! Every volunteer counts. I hope you’ll be able to help again this year.
https://twitter.com/BorowitzReport/status/220615479457366016
Hahahahahaha……
Where’s Michelle someone in the crowd yell? We love her. Then someone yell, we love you too. Next time POTUS have a bus tour he need to bring FLOTUS.
FLOTUS is a star!
CTGirl…….a Superstar.
We love our First Lady, and we love our President too.
Any crowd shot ? Is it a big crowd ?
I think they said 750 was capacity and all 750 tickets were given out.
You’ve got a love it … he’s describing reality of how much work we still have to do to dig out of the GWB/Neoconster/Kochster mess and folk in the audience are shouting ‘it takes time’!!! π Love it!!
I’m not a Democrat first, I’m an American first …. crowd goes wild!!!
emoprgs heads are exploding….
Linda,Let their heads explode. We who truly love this country are Americans first and foremost. Romney wouldn’t have the guts to say something like that. This President would have never done what the Republicans did by sabotaging this economy just so they could win.
Emoprogs don’t realize it yet but PBO stopped pretending they were relevant a long time ago.
I really like this message, and this tone. I really, really LOVE this President!
Nothing can stop you Mommy, nothing can stop you America. I love it!!
Wasn’t he saying “Maumee” – the name of the city where the event was being held?
yes.
That’s what I thought. π
Okay, what’s the next stop? I’m all fired up, and ready to NOT go shopping as I had planned this morning. π
Nothing can stop me … nothing can stop us, America …..
BRUCE …………… We take care of our own ….. IN_DEED!
Ha, my President was on fire and he looked damn hawt.
The president speech was good.
last paragraph of the article notes that in the vanity fair piece, robme is remembered by a former employee for having encouraged this new hire to lie in the course of business. chilling and damning.
I love when he does the rope line…gosh he’s amazing how he just stops and listen to what you have to say.
Why the fuck even give him the bail then especially after his lies?
No need for bad words ok. I will give it to you I am going with you
It’s just aggrevating that a judge in Florida would give a murderer bail for stand your ground and another Florida Judge/Jury would put an african american women in prison for shooting in the ceiling to make her attacker back off from beating her…..
Hi lenny. Welcome aboard the TOD train. We are so proud of the work you have done volunteering with your grandmother for the campaign. Keep up the good work and excuse our sometimes salty language.
Cough, Cough amk π
‘Cause he’s family, dear — a lying, murderous thug with connections. That’s all that counts. What country do you think this is?
We take care of our own is very appropriate. Singing along.
I love watching PBO interacting with people.
Introduction:
Great start to the bus tour—President Obama hit hard on all key points, enthusiastic reception by a fired up crowd.
THIS!!!!!
That crowd was great. FORWARD to the next stop.
I don’t even want to think about hugging a sweaty President Obama….!!!
I bet even his sweat smells nice.
i do π
I love watching our POTUS in campaign mode!!! He looks good too. Great speech and great crowd!!
Well after that I’m ALL Fired Up and Ready to Go!
Chips, tomorrow is Money-Bomb Friday. Can we get the fundraising links up pretty please π
If people would just put on their “thinking caps” (elementary school), this presidential campaign should be a NO CONTEST everywhere.
It’s unfixable.
+infinity. π

I read that Sandusky native, Orlando Pace, will introduce President Obama in Sandusky—-played football at Oh. St. and for the Rams and the Bears.

Sounds like he had a nervous breakdown.
Or drugs
Tell me again how private companies do a better job? What BS this is! I’m showing this to my lifeguard daughter. She’ll be pissed. The fact that they paid this guy $8.25/hour to watch an entire swath of beach and save lives, is sinful. All about the profit, baby! All about the profit.

Delicious.
CNN reports on the Shadow Bus tour, more than the Presidents Bus tour.

U.S. private employers stepped up hiring in June and the number of Americans filing new claims for jobless benefits last week fell by the most in two months, hopeful signs for the struggling labor market.
DGA raised 11 million in June. That is nice.

Gov O’Malley is doing one great job as Chairman of the DGA.
The RGA has more seats to defend.
The rest of today’s schedule…so plan ahead so that you don’t miss it.

Much love to you, HZ. You are a fighter and have such an unbeatable spirit about you. All my prayers, love and good wishes for you. FORWARD!!!

Wow!!
—
Wow!!!

Glad Bill is on our side!

I’d love to have a cup of joe with our Joe. Wouldn’t YOU?
Next to PBO, only Joe could make me sweat, rather than perspire.
