    hey Chips, morning!

  3. June 26, 2012 at 12:42 pm

I’m “enjoying” the Romney speech right now and was especially touched that he agreed with PBO that everyone deserves a chance. Especially those with “the right set of values”. Hmmm, wonder what that means!

He means what he says and says what he means, sometimes. If you are not a good moral person you don’t deserve help. I detect a little racism and classism there too. I guess I wouldn’t get any help from him then, I know I don’t have “the right set of values.”

Do I need to be concerned that I just got an email from Obama that if he doesn’t raise more money that he could possibly lose? He is saying he can win being outspend but can’t being outspend 10-1? I’m sensing some worry in the email from President Obama? Also it was reported that they are 26 million in the hole for the convention? Do I need to worry? Are his donors letting him down this go round? I hope that he doesn’t lose this election because of money, because if that happens this country is doomed.

It’s just fact Kinona, the Romney/Koch campaign has endless money, so this is just the PBO campaign appealing for supporters to donate what they can so they can fight back. There are plenty of reasons to worry about their money advantage, but now and then truth wins out 😉

Concerned? Yes. Scared? No. I do think they are not doing quite as well as 2008 for a couple reasons. The first is that there was a real sense of getting in on history in 2008. That feeling hasn’t been tapped yet this go around, although I think it will be. Secondly is that there is a decent percentage of small donors who don’t have as much disposable income this time around due to the economy.
Also, he is not getting as much from the really big donors. That may change as we go forward.

I think some people are waiting till later. I am waiting till later because I am on a fixed income and I am saving all I can to send one donation. Things will improve as the election nears. I don’t think we have to worry too much.

I just got that E-mail too. I Just donated some more cash.

    • June 26, 2012 at 2:50 pm

Kinoma, could you please provide a link sourcing your statement “it was reported that they are 26 million in the hole for the convention?”

And as for those email messages from the campaign – I’ve been receiving those forever – many of which have a tone of urgency, so I wouldn’t interpret this one in particular.

PBO is getting the same amount or more small donations than he got in 2008. He’s not getting the same financial backing from Wall Street because they are mad that he won’t allow them to get away with insane profits while squeezing ordinary Americans.

I had to double-take on that photo #4 – at first I thought that was PBO’s hand on the shoulder of the lady in purple. Duh – that would be pretty impossible. Funny! Lucky bunch of folks, BTW!

I work one block north of Varsity. I can’t believe the President was so close but yet so far! A very nice treat for the patrons. Don’t be surprised about Faux News. It really is a red state here.

I have been spending a lot of time lately at the mental health center with my daughter. She has had a bad couple of weeks. As I was sitting there watching people come and go, I was struck by how vulnerable those folks really are–their needs are so great. My daughter is lucky in that she has me as her advocate, but many have to count on others besides family. These are the people who are thrown away in the minds of Rush, Beck, Cantor and that crew. We stand together for the good of all of our society–not just the “producers”. Fight on!!!

Thsnkd Chips. As always you do not disappoint. I rushed right in from work and got my fix. I think the GOP picked Romney only because he could raise the amount of money it would take to defeat President Obama. We just have to prove them wrong.

Hello! I know I am doing exactly what you’ve said you won’t accept — posting a first-time comment from a “lurker” so I will understand if my remark doesn’t get posted. But I do want to thank you for all the wonderful posts and pictures you provide. I enjoy them so much and they continually lift my spirits. Seeing the absolute joy on people’s faces in response to President Obama’s announcements re. same-sex marriage, and immigration really makes me aware of what a huge difference this man and his administration are making on a regular basis. And then, seeing the photos of him interacting with kids and adults during his campaign outreach just emphasize that point. So thank you for making all of this accessible to us, and let’s all do what we can to make sure this will continue through 2016!!
