3 years ago…. Wow, I wasn’t screaming, crazy Michael Jackson fan, but I certainly liked his music and have dance many a dance to his tunes… In my teenage world, my future husband would think of me and sing this song:

… I need her sharing the world beside me… Got to be there, Be there where love begins, and that’s everywhere she goes…

    GOT to be there….

Me too! Cow Palace Daly City California 1973 6th row from the stage. My whole family went, Me, Mom, Dad and my little bro. Remember like it was yesterday. My bedroom wall was covered with Jackson 5 pix from Tiger Beat magazine for years until Earth Wind & Fire came along. 😆 RIP MJ…

Me too. Richmond VA. New up and coming group, The Commodores, opened for them. I had the Tiger Beat posters too. Thought Michael was cute – loved his voice, but Marlon was my man! 🙂

Wow the Commodores too! Luv them! Now that’s a kick-ass show. MJ was cute but deep, deep down in my secret heart of hearts Jackie was it for me with Jermaine as the fall back even tho they would have been waay to old chronologically. But then again, I’ve been told all my life that I am an old soul and have always hung out with people older than me. Hmmm… 🙂

According to folks on Twitter, Jon Stewart claiming POTUS just as bad as Mitt and is pandering to Latinos. Why left leaning people still continue to watch that fool is just beyond me. There isn’t even a hint of a difference between Jon Stewart and the MSM he claims to be mocking.

    • June 26, 2012 at 12:32 am

Ever since he started having a relationship with Bill O the Clown… Maybe, the deal was, be tough on the President always and I will tell my viewers to tune in.

Sadly with the way he’s been going, I wouldn’t put it past him.

One of the videos that I kept playing over and over again from Election Night in 2008 was the one where he and Stephen Colbert choked back tears as they announced PBO won to their elated audience. My how things change.

I can’t tell you the last time I watched his show. I used to go into withdrawals if I missed an episode. Now I can barely stand to hear his voice.

I’m with you, Dudette, and so many others – haven’t watched Jon Stewart in more than a year and a half. Can’t stand him, now, and I was previously a faithful viewer – never missed him.

I’m beginning to think a lot of these pundits don’t understand the English language and the words they use. They don’t mean what they seem to think they mean… Stewart uses the word pander to describe President Obama’s efforts towards the Latinos – but i would use the words “caring for” or “trying to make things better”. Maybe they just don’t know…

Organizers of a celebration scheduled to kick off the Democratic National Convention are moving the Labor Day event from Charlotte Motor Speedway to the city’s downtown.

Charlotte In 2012 spokeswoman Suzi Emmerling said late Monday that as the date of the event drew closer, logistics became a challenge. Emmerling said moving the celebration to downtown Charlotte near the convention venue would make it more accessible and family friendly. The speedway is about 18 miles outside the city.

The convention has already been shortened from the traditional four days to three to have a day to celebrate the region.

The convention is being held at Charlotte’s Time Warner Arena. President Barack Obama’s nomination acceptance speech on Sept. 6 is scheduled for Bank of America Stadium. Both arenas are in downtown Charlotte.

They don’t have any money, because Unions ain’t donating for Convention.

    • June 26, 2012 at 12:42 am

Also the Speedway was a bad idea. You know what I mean?

      • June 26, 2012 at 9:07 am

It’s really, really important to have events centrally located. In 2008 Denver, even getting to INVESCO was a bit of a chore because people were confused about where to catch the shuttles and how long it would take to get there in time to stand in very long lines going through security. So this is a good move on their part.

“Why This Lifelong Republican Will Be Voting For Obama”

    “Some people can change.

For the first 15 plus years of adulthood I was a staunch Republican supporter. Even as far back as the ’92 election, when I wasn’t old enough to vote, I voted for Bush 41 in my high school mock elections. I voted for Dole in ’96, Bush 43 twice in ’00 & ’04, and McCain in ’08. I’ve typically voted Republican in most off-year elections. I am the son of a retired army Colonel. I was baptised by my Catholic uncle priest and raised going to church every Sunday. I am a 36-year-old hard-working white father of 3 from the south. I was the heart of the GOP base for the last 15 years.

I will be voting for Barack Obama this coming November”

And, he goes on to make a VIvid Case..

I love the West Wing – still my all-time favourite; but, I almost didn’t like seeing my West Wing lines being spoken by all those other people (most of whom looked like they were on shows I might have liked, but I’ve never seen before).

        June 26, 2012 at 2:28 am

I recognized a few clips from Sports Night, The American President (movie that The West Wing was spun from), Charlie Wilson’s War, A Few Good Men and Malice (the only A.S ever did that I actually hated). Never saw Studio 60 though I know it got plenty of early acclaim but flamed out in the first season.

Thanks for filling in the gaps. I recognized The American President – one my all-time soppy favourites. I completely missed Sports Night when it was all the hype – don’t even remember why I never saw any episodes. I remember a few clips from A Few Good Men, but really can’t remember the movie at all. And the rest are a mystery…

That was a trip! I didn’t know Sorkin wrote Malice with Alec Baldwin and Nicole Kidman–a somewhat marginal movie, except for this rant by Alec Baldwin which was classic.

But sports night, studio 60, a few good men, the american president and of course West Wing, were/are exceptional and worth getting for one’s DVD collection (imho)

DISCLAIMER: I’m talking about Fox below and have a link to a Fox clip 🙂

I caught the panel discussion of “The Special Report” on Fox earlier today, now I wouldn’t normally put a link to that show here, but I’ve noted recently Juan Williams (yes, their paid contributor representing the so-called ‘balanced’ side) has a way of communicating that not only dispels the talking points but makes fun of them.

I was amused by his answer to the first idiot speaker who spouted off the usual talking points about PBO not carrying through with Dream Act, so please limit your viewing only to the part Im talking about, its from 1:00min to 3:06min. Juan kicks in at the 1:59 but the leadup of his response to the initial rw rant (hold your nose) helps set up an amusing slapdown. Note Krauthammer (this guy is too smug and pompous for his own good) can’t help but grin at how Williams phrases his answer at the beginning and when he nearly finishes: http://video.foxnews.com/v/1706731434001/

Keep in mind Williams comments to that vile Malkin last week where he described her as ‘just a blogger’ really hit home also…I thought she was going to explode (of course, she does this all the time) when he said that and reacted by getting her minion twerps to go after Williams. Personally, I think he is relishing the paid role he has at Fox.

Okay TODers..I’ve finished..please resume your normal transmission 🙂

    • 82 anniebella
      June 26, 2012 at 8:05 am

I saw the video about the ice cream, and there was one comment which I knew was coming. The comment were talking about the President eating a sundae, and how it shows the Obama saying do as I say, not as I do. But I knew it was some right wing hater because if he had bother listening to the President he would have heard the President say that he doesn’t have these that often, plus he would know that this President works out. He is not like Rush Limbaugh, someone who sit on his fat ass and run his mouth all day long. He also would know that FLOTUS talks about healthy eating, but she always say that there is nothing wrong in having some of the things you like sometime. It’s about moderation, exercise, eating more vegetables. Let’s Move. That sundae POTUS was eating did look good.
