Sure they have a lot of chicken in Frankenmuth but the real question is are the trees the right height?

    • June 19, 2012 at 11:09 am

And are the trees German, Derbingle?

      • June 19, 2012 at 11:12 am

LOL!! What about the chickens? Are they German and what’s their average height?

        • June 19, 2012 at 11:16 am

We’re going to have to demand that the chickens produce their long form birth certs, this German allegation is deeply troubling.

          • June 19, 2012 at 11:27 am

This is why the chickens begged Romney not to come to Frankenmuth. They knew some enterprising blogger would start asking questions.

Like: Is Romney in favor of everybody’s drinkin’ the German beer from the area, while he talks, to ease the pain of listening?

              • June 19, 2012 at 12:00 pm

The chickens do not allow drinking when Mitt is talking. The alcohol is exclusively for them and no one else. That’s the only way they can get through one of his speeches.

                  • June 19, 2012 at 12:15 pm

LOL!! I was confused until one of the chickens explained it to me. And I told him either he’s going to wind up on someone’s plate or getting the 3-4pm time slot on MSNBC. Oddly enough he chose the plate.

Hey, now, that 3-4pm time slot reference really made me howl! Or should it be cluck!

I do understand how you’d rather be talking to a chicken. Maybe Romney’s trying out to be President Obama’s Republican USDA Chair, after PBO is re-elected. I dunno – I also hear Romney’s very up on trees of the right height, so maybe he’ll be an environmental guru? Or something nice in the logging industry? Maybe those are his hidden talents (’cause he sure doesn’t have any visible talents).

Takes a noodle to know a noodle! Bringing this over:

Bob posted this site last night. You must see the photos of PBO and Putin that the MSM DONā€T show…go half way down the page.I think I clicked to ā€œload more commentsā€ before I found them…then click on the photos to embiggin. SERIOUSLY. PBO is ALPHA here!! His face and mannerisms are definately saying there is a new boss in town, and YOU (Putin) are NOT it! One of the people there last night explained PBO’S body language…and described Putin as timid and weak…and PBO as Alpha, strong and assured. I was taken by these. Also, someone pointed to the ā€œboo booā€ that Putin had on his pinkie finger, of the hand being shaken….and the squeeze put on by PBO and the look on his face….priceless. This man is the leader of the world.Hands down. I don’t know how to get those pics over here….but here’s the site

He’s on the same path as Gaddafi. Based on various input, 90 days max, likely sooner. He’ll torture and kill as many as he can in the interval, but do note that now he’s firing artillery & StoS missiles at places his army used to occupy, and significant sections of the country are effectively liberated now.

GWB SO wanted to be that, but Angela Merkel was. Now, she’s taking directives from our PBO! Putin is practically bowing and scraping. I noticed the handshake between the two…..Putin was no match!

So, does Romney’s staff give him little index cards when he gets to a new place: ” Frankenmuth (Michigan) a German town famous for chicken and noodles” hoping he can run with that? I’ve been to Frankenmuth, and it is a delightful place, and the chicken restaurants are great. So is the Christmas store, and the clock tower with bells…….and much more. I bet he didn’t even know it was in the state before this trip!

As ThinkProgress reported yesterday, a group of Catholic nuns has kicked off a nine-state bus tour to protest cuts to the social safety net that were included in the House Republican budget. The nuns will be visiting the offices of ten Republican lawmakers, stopping yesterday the office of Rep. Steve King (R-IA). Here are photos of the event from the Des Moines Register:

When asked for comment on the visit, King’s office responded with an email that ā€œdid not say anything specifically about the nuns,ā€ according to the Associated Press. The nuns will be visiting the office of House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) today.

    Shi* just got real

The Daily Telegraph reports that a ship carrying military helicopters and missiles to Syria from Russia has been turned back off the Scottish coast, after its insurance was canceled on order of the British government. The insurer, Standard Club, released a statement saying that it canceled the cover ā€œin view of the nature of the voyage.ā€ The cancellation came after British security officials informed the insurer that the shipment would likely be a breach of EU sanctions.

According to the US, Russia has continued to ship 20 Mig-29 M2 fighters to Syria, per the two countries’ 2007 military contract. The cancellation comes a day after Russia announced it was sending two amphibious assault ships to its naval base in Tartus.

Here is a link…..this part in interesting.

As first revealed by The Sunday Telegraph at the weekend, the US notified the UK government that the insurance was British last week.

As it neared the Dutch coast, the authorities there also hailed the ship, the security sources said, and it made an abrupt turn, heading towards Scotland. It was last night now off the coast of the Hebrides but with no insurance covering the ship security sources say it may now have to return to port.

It’s not very nice of me – but I think it’s funny when they mess up the name of the town they’re in.

Apparently Mitt said he was in Des Moines when he was greeting the crowd in Davenport yesterday. That’s not usually appreciated.

Today apparently while in Frankenmuth (MI), Ann exclaimed “I spent my summers right here in Manistee on Lake Michigan” – I had to look it up, one’s on the west coast of MI and the other is on the eastern side, not apparently on any lake.

Heck, even Sarah Palin (of course) left her mark in 2008, greeting us Iowans with “Hello, Grand Rapids!” when she was in Cedar Rapids.

Voters like PBO’s action to support Dreamers:” President Barack Obama’s high-profile shift on immigration last week — announcing plans to grant temporary legal status to as many as 800,000 undocumented people brought to American soil as children — has the overwhelming support of likely voters in a new Bloomberg poll released Tuesday.”
Sixty-four percent of them — and 66% of independents, the frequently up-for-grabs voters thought to decide elections — support the president’s decision.

Now for some of the recurring themes I try and post at this wonderful blog

    I WILL DO THE WORK

Last night I processed the I’m In” cards from the Wed. Night Farmers Market. We had 6 folks sign up to volunteer. Woot.

Now I am preparing for the market again tomorrow. One of the things I noticed was that in our community there is a large hispanic population that attends these markets. So…..

I went looking for a fact sheet on the policy. the best one I found was at

    http://www.dhs.gov/ynews/releases/20120612-napolitano-announces-deferred-action-process-for-young-people.shtm

(there is a spanish version also)

I shortened it so it fits on a half sheet (spanish on one side, english on the other.)

If anyone has another version please let me know.

It would be fun to hear what others are doing at events to bring in voters, volunteers, etc.

    • June 19, 2012 at 12:15 pm

Recruiting 6 volunteers is a LOT!! Congrats on that score. I love your idea of having the Immigration Directive printed up in Spanish. Brilliant. Let us know how it goes. Our street fair season has just begun, so there will be a lot of tabling at those.

Time’s Michael Scherer (sp?) thinks Willard is doing great on his bus tour, really relating to people, that his hokeyness is who he is, he’s sincere, that many of his awkward comments were written for him —–so he could make fun of himself???—–so someone wrote about the trees at the right height and lots of chicken in Frankenmuth???—–fire that writer!—-that he’s older than Obama so he can’t be as cool——or something—–and the whole gang there on Alex Wagner are really working overtime to again excuse and provide cover for Willard.
