    • June 19, 2012 at 10:43 pm

Is Romneydelusional? How can you go out day after day to sparse crowds and zero enthusiasum and believe you can win a presidency. How many times has he run and lost? How could he be a persuader in chief, a leader and a visionary? It just doesn’t make sense.

At a meeting tonight a friend told us he actually stayed to listen to Romney at the Cornwall Furnace stop in PA and could hardly believe how awkward and phony the guy sounded. He started by asking the gathering if they got their hoagies at WaWa. (There is no WaWa in the county and people universally say “subs” rather than hoagies in this area). When the people said No, he asked if they went to Sheetz. Again a No from the audience. Finally someone in the audience said the word, “deli,” and Willard said, ” Delis! Delis! I go to delis!” Our friend said the Willard’s goofy efforts to relate to “real folks” were cringe inducing and he could feel the discomfort of people ound him. Of course, Romney was also dumb enough to bring along the hated Corbett who could kill any party just by walking in the door. Robney would do himself a favor just by staying hidden and not letingt anyone see or hear him. Which, of course, makes me hope he makes it a habit to go on awkward bus trips every week.

Every time they fail to ask a proper questions, every time the fail to connect the dots, every time they misrepresent PBO/Democratic Reps words, every time they fail to challenge the LIES of #MittRomney and the LIES of REPUBLICANS in general, we need to us the twitter machine to #SHOUT them down, and call out their B**Shit. Looks to me like Romney kept people AWAY from Holland State Beach today. There are more people there on any given day than that picture shows. This is a beautiful, popular beach. He must be poison.
Have to tell a story about my daughter…..I lived in Michigan as a child, spent my summers on a beautiful lake. I LOVE lakes. We live in Oklahoma. The only lakes my daughter has seen are manmade red dirt lakes. As she says, I think “Lakes and snakes.” Yes….there are snakes in our lakes. Well, I took her to Michigan three summers ago to show her my childhood places. We went to Holland Beach. We parked behind those beautiful dunes, and walked up the path…..we came up on top of the ridge, and there was magnificent, glorious Lake Michigan. She stopped in her tracks: “Mom……it’s an ocean!, and the sand is beautiful and white and soft.! ” She was overwhelmed, and I was happy to show her how beautiful lakes are.
So…..Mitt must be poison to make that beach so empty.

  12. June 19, 2012 at 10:39 pm

Stephen Colbert is my other husband but he has been hitting Pres.Obama for GITMO a lot lately. The joke would start out positive and then bam….PBO didn’t close GITMO. He did one last night and I had to laugh because about 4 people in the audience clapped. LOL!! It was like…clap…clap clap….uhm….clap clap….then it just teetered off. LOL!!

    • June 20, 2012 at 12:43 am

I saw that too….most of the time its good, its just those snipes which feed the meme of a broken promise, when it isn’t. I’m proud that PBOs first executive order was to sign for the closure of GITMO….we all know why it’s still open, but I do believe, there are things at work behind the scenes that ‘effectively’ closes it.

        June 20, 2012 at 2:40 am

I have to say, there was a snippet on NPR tonight, where they actually laid out the path of Gitmo – that the President vowed to close it, but was thwarted by Dems who sided with the GOP – and they even played a clip of Reid saying, “Dems don’t want to have terrorists released into the US”. It just made my blood boil. And the President STILL campaigned (passionately) for Reid when the time came. These Dems need to be ashamed of how they’ve let the President down.

Roger Simon and other MSM reporters must be missing George W. Bush. With “Dubya,” they didn’t need English translators. I know I sometimes sound like a broken record, but I am absolutely stunned at how low the U.S. media have sank. They prefer a president who talks in simple sound bites rather than a president who explains policy in details. It’s as if being dumb is the new criterion for the much touted, but really meaningless, ideology of “U. S. Exceptionalism.”

    Guys,
i gotta share something with you. I was at a coffee place here in SF and there were these tow men who I assumed were Repiblican. there were talking about some representative who has gone so right wing now and apparently has been moderate . The older guy said he has talked to his wife and thre gonna vote for PBO againas there own people are getting crazier. The younger said his dead father would not recognise this country today. He assured the guy that his business is better with PBO but pretends with his fellow bussinessmen that he is voting Replubican this year. At this point I dropped my wallet and they stopped talking as the younger guy had to retrieve it for me.
To me this shows that maybe a lot of thinking Household Republicans are concerned about the viscinious of their party and the cannot deny that under PBO they have done well.

SuperPac $…it’s a cause with them. They have enough $ to hire people, very similar to running a corporate in setting up a grassroots movement, then personally escorting 1 voter to the booth this November….$ everywhere in everything drives their message.

We have PBO, his vision, his record and his plans for the Country. The more widely, without falsehoods, his message is spread, then regardless of whether a person is escorted personally to the voting booth, they will have all the information they need to make the decision not only for them, but for your country’s future.

    http://www.salon.com/2012/06/19/new_nsa_docs_reveal_911_truths/singleton/

Over 120 CIA documents concerning 9/11, Osama bin Laden and counterterrorism were published today for the first time, having been newly declassified and released to the National Security Archive. The documents were released after the NSA pored through the footnotes of the 9/11 Commission and sent Freedom of Information Act requests.

The material contains much new information about the hunt before and after 9/11 for bin Laden, the development of the drone campaign in AfPak, and al-Qaida’s relationship with America’s ally, Pakistan. Perhaps most damning are the documents showing that the CIA had bin Laden in its cross hairs a full year before 9/11 — but didn’t get the funding from the Bush administration White House to take him out or even continue monitoring him. The CIA materials directly contradict the many claims of Bush officials that it was aggressively pursuing al-Qaida prior to 9/11, and that nobody could have predicted the attacks. “I don’t think the Bush administration would want to see these released, because they paint a picture of the CIA knowing something would happen before 9/11, but they didn’t get the institutional support they needed,” says Barbara Elias-Sanborn, the NSA fellow who edited the materials.

    BUSH KNEW. AND DID NOTHING.

Usama Bin Laden to launch multiple attacks over the coming days.” The famous August brief called “Bin Ladin Determined to Strike the US” is included. “Al-Qai’da members, including some US citizens, have resided in or travelled to the US for years, and the group apparently maintains a support structure here,” it says. During the entire month of August, President Bush was on vacation at his ranch in Texas — which tied with one of Richard Nixon’s as the longest vacation ever taken by a president. CIA Director George Tenet has said he didn’t speak to Bush once that month, describing the president as being “on leave.” Bush did not hold a Principals’ meeting on terrorism until September 4, 2001, having downgraded the meetings to a deputies’ meeting, which then-counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke has repeatedly said slowed down anti-Bin Laden efforts “enormously, by months.”

I do not EVER, EVER what to any Republicans open their mouths about vacations, security, intelligence, foreign policy, national policy….any of it. EVER.

    BOOM!

A plurality of Americans now say they are better off than they were when President Barack Obama was inaugurated, providing a surprising lift to Obama’s re- election campaign despite troublesome economic news.

Forty-five percent of those surveyed in a Bloomberg National Poll say they are better off than at the beginning of 2009 compared with 36 percent who say they are worse off. In March, poll respondents split almost evenly on that question after having been decidedly negative since the aftermath of the worst recession in seven decades.

“I’m just tired of the doom and gloom,” says Jim Seeley, 52, a mortgage banker in Traverse City, Michigan, and a poll respondent, in a follow-up interview. “I think it’s looking better. People just need to stay positive.”

The poll, conducted June 15-18, contains more unlikely cheer for the president, with larger numbers of respondents saying their household income is higher than a year ago. While 44 percent say they are treading water, the better off outnumbered the worse off by 28 percent to 22 percent.

Tweet Share via Email Something big happened in Richmond last week—and a couple millionaires and billionaires are hoping you didn’t notice.

The U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed last week that groups like the Koch brothers’ Americans for Prosperity and Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS should have to disclose exactly who’s behind the millions of dollars they’re spending to influence this election.

They’re going to try to avoid this for as long as they can. After all, they have a vested interest in being able to spend millions anonymously to influence our elections—many of the corporations and individuals funding their organizations don’t want their agendas to receive scrutiny from the press or the public.

We can make sure they don’t get away with hiding these donors—or their agendas. But it’s going to take a lot of us standing up, putting our foot down, and saying “Hell no.”

We’ve put together a petition demanding that these secret front groups disclose for the country exactly who their donors are. Do what these guys won’t do: Let the country know exactly what you stand for by adding your name today.

Ask yourself: Don’t we all have a right to know exactly which corporations and individuals are spending millions in attack ads to influence elections—and what their agendas are?

If you agree, add your name today.
