TPM: A majority of voters agreed with President Obama’s decision to halt deportation of young undocumented immigrants, according to a new Bloomberg Poll out Tuesday … 64 percent of likely voters agree with the new policy, while just 30 percent disagreed.

Along party lines, only Republicans disagreed the move, with 56 percent of likely GOP voters opposed to the policy. Close to 9 in 10 Democrats (86 percent) liked the move. A large majority of independents, 66 percent, backed the decision, while just 26 percent opposed it.

…. Yesterday, a Latino Decisions poll showed that enthusiasm for Obama among Latino voters jumped significantly after the announcement.

Eugene Robinson: Sí, se puede. Yes, it can be done.

President Obama showed last week that it’s possible to find a reasonable, humane solution for at least 800,000 young people who were illegally brought into this country as children. All you need is a moral compass and a heart.

Seems to me that Obama’s unilateral decision to let these non-citizens remain here without fear of deportation should have quieted critics who bray and whine about a supposed lack of bold presidential leadership. It didn’t, of course.

Where is Mitt Romney on all of this, you ask? Excellent question…..

…. It’s tiresome having to spend so much time trying to figure out what Romney really believes. If anything, I mean.

I just saw this on twitter

MSNBC is taking a right turn, 5 a.m.-4 p.m. SE Cupp is joining as host @ 3 p.m.

I knew she was on the list but is it confirmed now?

Well, if they do, their ratings will sink like CNN……and probably lower. They are catering to the wrong audience.
However, we never turn on the TV until early evening…..don’t pollute our air with Cable talkers……..makes a lovely day!

Good morning, TOD. Hope everyone’s doing well this Tuesday.

I’ve now confirmed the person who keeps creating sock accounts on twitter to stalk and slander me is someone who either lurks here, or, I hope not, is a member here. The person has created three such accounts so far including @FourMoreFor44, and last night @LoveOhio1. Each time the pattern is the same: 1) the account is created late at night 2) the person picks people out of my timeline I’ve been having conversations with then repeatedly tweet them things like: “she’s a scam artist,” “she took thousands of dollars from Obama supporters/dog lovers” “ask her what she did with the money….”

If you are reading this right now, you are a pathetic lying sack of shit. Leave me the fuck alone and get a life.

    • June 19, 2012 at 9:08 am

I meant to include a 3rd part of the pattern: the troll ALWAYS deletes the sock accounts so s/he leaves no trail of this despicable behavior behind. Coward.

Quick note before I begin my busy day. Was listening to Joe Madison on way home from Curves. He had Rep. Cleaver on. True, we usually are frustrated with him, but he made a good point and I want to share. He was the first AA may of Kansas City and was re-elected for second term. He said they knew that if he couldn’t be re-elected, the first term was all for naught…..that people would say, “Okay, we gave the AA a chance and he just couldn’t cut it…….that he FAILED…..” He says PO’s re-election carries same thing. He will be called the second Jimmy Carter, etc. (That’s already happening.) The way he and Joe put it: PO’s first election was euphoric; his re-election will be historic.

Hats off to Proud and Jackie. I got so absorbed in the articles and video clip, I forgot to sign in. Saw a tweet this morning that Rubio hasn’t been given vetting papers to fill out for Romney, so the speculation is that he’s not in the running. Guess he lost his luster when he could no longer pretend to be the Dream Act champion.

    • June 19, 2012 at 10:15 am

Good morning Jackie. I don’t think Rubio was ever in the running for VP. I honestly feel Romney wants a “white” guy that won’t grab his spot light. Just my opinion though.

  12. June 19, 2012 at 9:13 am

I’ve enjoyed reading the Des Moines Register writeup of Mitt’s visit to Iowa yesterday (a special time for us all):
    http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/20120619/NEWS09/306190044/In-Iowa-Romney-challenges-Obama-on-economy?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|Frontpage

    My favorite bits:

Immigration: “He’s in talks about an alternative immigration proposal. Asked how closely he has been working with U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida on an immigration reform plan, Romney said his policy chief is talking with Rubio’s staff.”
    – Is Marco Rubio the only person out there with any knowledge of immigration? Our people are talking to his people – great.

Alternate energy: Romney also gave a nod to the wind energy industry. “You’ve got a fair amount of wind here. Look, I like wind and renewables, I do like all of those but I do like all of our energy resources,” – WTF? DUH.

My favorite quote was Valley Mitt: ““He said, ‘Here, you can steer,’ and I was like, you know, that’s nothing,” – I was LIKE?

    Eugene Robinson,
Willard Romney won’t say because his puppeteers has not given the nod. He think that he can string the American people along with his nonsense. Romney is a dumb azz with no class and very lacking in character. Having money did not improve his intelligence. The simple things in life he suppose to be so clueless about. It just tells me his brain cells did not expand. Being ignorant is a not good choice. Just a big old dummy dunce, very lacking in common courtesy and good manners.

On the flip side all of this evasiveness and thinking that he does not have to answer questions is all a game. The old rule book might have worked for him four years ago but our President has been teaching the American people every step of the process. If we listen carefully, watch diligently, work expeditiously and smarter we will be victorious. Our President is leading by example and FORWARD,

  17. June 19, 2012 at 10:09 am

then I saw this tweet from @jonkarl “GOP sources tell me Marco Rubio is not being vetted by Romney’s VP search team. Details on GMA and here — http://abcn.ws/N3uTdu” and I couldn’t stop laughing. There goes Mittens’ great brown hope!

I watched MJ this morning for 5 minutes….it was the end of the interview with whatsisname….he had a book about the Tparty, teaevangelists or something…I’ve seen his face many times……well anyway they are taking their country back *yawn*….and than there was another guest talking about Marco Rubio….so (I’m so bad with names) the regular on the panel, lets call him Baldy….he never say anything intelligent anyway was actually comparing Marco Rubio with President Obama when he was a senator, the great speech Senator Obama gave at the 2004 convention and apparently Marco Rubio gave a great speech, well something similar, to who I don’t know. Its insulting that he would even compare the 2 of them……Marco Rubio is not and will never be in the same league as President Obama. Never.

  18. June 19, 2012 at 10:10 am

Why do Liberal & Democratic leaning shows insist on giving the GOP a venue to rattle off their talking points? It’s not like the GOP has no where to go, they own almost all the damn media.

    • June 19, 2012 at 10:13 am

I think your second sentence answers your first.

      • June 19, 2012 at 10:40 am

They are even on shows they don’t own, this is too much.

        • June 19, 2012 at 10:52 am

I’m very, very cynical about the media. The GOP owns the airwaves and most print. So what we are getting is psy ops propaganda 24/7. The evidence is everywhere. It starts very early each morning with the dominant themes of the day being decided by extreme right wingers Drudge, Politico and Morning Joe. The rest of the day is every outlet falling in line and Dems playing defense.

          • June 19, 2012 at 11:19 am

Thanks Meta. I’ve been trying to tell people this since 2007. It’s real easy to figure out, anyone can do it. Wake up at 3:00 am and quickly peruse EVERY cable news outlet and the networks. You’ll hear the same talking points from EACH one of them! Then the rest of the day is a re-hash of those talking points. It’s effing insidious!

One of the people there last night explained PBO’S body language…and described Putin as timid and weak…and PBO as Alpha, strong and assured.
