‘Obamacare’ Insures 3 Million Young Adults

TPM: Some 3.1 million young adults have health insurance as a result of the health care reform law, according to new figures released Tuesday by the Obama administration.

That’s up from 2.5 million in December 2011, a similar report found then.

“Today, because of the health care law, more than 3 million more young adults have health insurance,” Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said in a statement. “This policy doesn’t just give young adults and their families peace of mind, it also gives them freedom. It means that as they begin their careers, they will be free to make choices based on what they want to do, not on where they can get health insurance.”

“That’s something I don’t want to football with, as a political policy. ” That’s the statement by Mitt Romney; the leader of the republican party regarding immigration.

From last thread, get ready for Atty Gen Holder who will be speaking shortly. Issanut will go ahead with the contempt charges vote as early as tomorrow morning. Stay tuned.

I’ll bet you 10,000 gaffes that he finds a way to get out of debating PBO like Scott Brown is trying to do in MA by putting ridiculous stipulations on his participation.

and the sad thing is everywhere I look all reporters have now decided that Willard is the Bestest Campaigner of All Time! They’re now all falling all over themselves saying that all his gaffes make him positively endearing, so real, that people are just clamoring for him, reaching out to put their arms around him and grasp his hands, so suddenly in love with Willard are they. It’s down the rabbit hole. They’re all trying to turn Willard’s obvious lameness and awkwardness into something beautiful to behold. I may self-deport.

Unfortunately, people don’t see Robme as a bumbling old man because he does not look like nor sound as old as John McShame, but he is definately a bumbling old man who should never ever be president of THESE united states of america. He can have amercia, I’ll vote for him if he stays on that planet and take the teabaggers with him.

On her show today, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell responded to criticism of the network’s decision to run an edited tape of Mitt Romney’s remarks about the Wawa convenience store chain, but the network has not clarified why it ran the edited version of the tape.

“We ran clips of Mitt Romney in Cornwall, Pa., talking about his trip to a Wawa,” Mitchell said. “Well, the RNC and the campaign both reached out to us saying that Romney had more to say about that visit — about federal bureaucracy and innovation in the private sector. We didn’t get a chance to play that, so here it is now.”

Mitchell’s response did not satisfy many critics, especially those on the right, who saw it as a non-apology.

Meanwhile, MSNBC did not respond to requests — before and after Mitchell’s segment — for an explanation as to why the network aired the edited tape.

UPDATE: An MSNBC spokesperson emailed the following at 4:30 on Tuesday afternoon:

“MSNBC did not edit anything out of order or out of sequence and at no time did we intend to deceive our viewers.”

    • June 19, 2012 at 8:27 pm

Every television network selectively edits tapes. They could not show clips without doing so. It should be a non-issue. It should only be an issue if they are deceptive in their coverage.

Ya know, the pukes need to stoke this up, then AG Holder and democrats need to make sure the details are known to ALL Americans that Busch’s AG started this crappy gun running plan. Let them blow it up and more crap lands on the repukes and Busch. This is darn stupid on their part.

  13. June 19, 2012 at 6:39 pm

Well of course – PBO is THE alpha male. You didn’t know that Chuckles?

  14. June 19, 2012 at 6:44 pm

Issa.ass will backfire. It is illegal for the DOJ to turn over some of the documents he’s asking for in addition to the ones already turned over. AG Holder even offered to turn over docs that have no precedent in any DOJ ever releasing. I doubt they’ll be any Dems on the committee will for for the contempt citation, which then goes to the floor of the House for a vote. If the vote in the House is for the contempt, then it goes to court. Issa.jerk only wants the fight, not the actual documents, cause he could have what was offered anyway. He wouldn’t allow any testimony from anyone involved from 2007 when this whole thing was implemented under Bush, nor did he acknowledge that Holder was the only AG who put a stop to it and start an investigation. Maybe Issa.creep is afraid of what that investigation will bring out about the previous administration.

    • June 19, 2012 at 6:48 pm

I believe that AG Holder is setting a mighty trap for Issa. That’s why the DEMS are laying low right now. They’re just waiting for the rabid rats to walk on the trap.

      June 19, 2012 at 6:50 pm

If is is not he probably should be! I think Issa does not want to open this can of ‘wup *ss’. More people will know about this wreckless plan started under Busch. They are really not thinking. The media will try to cover for them, but it will just bring up all those anti Busch feelings. I think this will backfire real bad for Issa! I can’t believe that they dont see that though.

      • June 19, 2012 at 7:06 pm

I don’t see a media role here. The media is how we know about it in the first place. I got the info I posted from the media which has given an unbiased treatment of Holder. Not everything the media does is bad. We have to be discerning in how we ingest what is said. Either way, Cheney may have to step in and tell Issa to cool his jets. Also, Holder just said, as reported by the media, that the ball is in Issa’s court. Holder has picked up the gantlet and thrown it right back at him. Now the Pubs are standing around looking at each other to see who will pick it up next. Issa just put Bonerbut in a horrible position. Bonerbut now has to face the teabuts in a House vote.

          Hi Cookemom,

you’re right, everything the media does is not bad. What I have not heard enough and clearly though is how all of this started under Busch. Sometimes the story get’s muddled and all you hear is the cover story and not all the political swill underneath. The detail is that this AG stopped it and investigated it when he found out about it may get lost. We all know “the media” does not like details or complicated situations . They may even make it sound like a legitimate motion to file contempt charges.
You may be right that somebody stops Issa, cause this sounds like a lose lose to me for repubs.

Flung that gauntlet directly in his face. The mean part of me rooting for a court battle, THEN we’ll see who wears the sh*t. As others have said, they haven’t thought this position through. Issa must think Mr Holder is an IDJIT.

oh don’t believe there won’t be any Dem votes for it. I’m just glad it’s gonna be in house and not Senate. Pelosi controls her caucus way betta than Reid does. I still wouldn’t be surprised if there was one or more Dems in conserv districts willing to vote against Holder.

        June 19, 2012 at 8:24 pm

It would be better in NO dems voted for it to show it up for the partisan bs that it is. I don’t want to hear about the ‘bipartisan’ contempt charge against AG Holder.

it would def be better if the dems had a united front, but like I said, the good thing is Pelosi is way better at controlling her caucus than Reid, so there is a better chance than not that no Dems will vote for it…but I won’t hold my breath

I see crowds are gathering in Tahir (sp) square. I know there were issues with the couple of elections in Egypt, and a lack of a constitution, plus the military slow walking a release of power. I wonder if this will reenergize the people, the will of the people to get the duly elected, democratic government that they want!

    #MediaFail

-Yesterday on @BashirLive @JohnJHarwood defended Ann Romney’s comments about ‘ . . .many vacations overseas’ taken by the Obama’s. The question itself was untrue and insulting. She could have said so. Instead, she pounced. Her snark will catch up with her.

-@crowleyCNN interview David Plouffe. She said PBO has NO accomplishments. This woman is stupid and uninformed.

-@WilliamCohan, who works for @bloombergview, was on @BashirLive yesterday. He said China holds most U. S. Treasury debt. WRONG. China only holds about 8%. Japan 6.4%, Federal Reserve 12%, Social Security Trust Fund 19%. 2/3 of U.S. debt is held by U.S. Is it too much to ask ‘reporters’, pundits, ‘analysts’ and others who provide us with ‘information’, to be informed themselves?

-@MedvedShow was on @edshow, defending REPUBLICAN RACISM against PBO. At some point, republicans who are NOT racist, need to stop defending those who are.

They get away with this crap because, they are generally NOT challenged, and are not held accountable by their employers or the public. We are going to have to get more aggressive about calling ‘Bullshit’.

    • June 19, 2012 at 6:57 pm

Samuel “Joe The Plumber” Wurzelbacher, the 2008 campaign microcelebrity and Ohio congressional candidate, has an interesting theory about the Holocaust. Yesterday, Mr. Wurzelbacher released a campaign web video in which he blamed the Holocaust and the Armenian genocide on gun control laws.

“In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917 one-point-five million Armenians, unable to defend themselves were exterminated,” Mr. Wurzelbacher says in the clip. “In 1939, Germany established gun control. From 1939 to 1945, six million Jews and seven million others unable to defend themselves were exterminated.”

Mr. Wurzelbacher’s video features footage of him on a shooting rage blasting fruits and vegetables with a shotgun. As the clip draws to a close, Mr. Wurzelbacher, gun in hand, proclaims, “I love America.”

personally, I think the original report was correct Rubio ain’t being vetting in any real way. Romney’s just trying to save face because the campaign staff all but confirmed that Rubio isn’t being vetted and that pissed Rubio supporters off.

What’s sad is that this sure doesn’t make Rubio look any better. It’s like having his mommy call in to school to tell the teacher to start calling on her boy to answer questions more.

Yup. It’s a trial balloon that landed with a thud. I do, find it amusing that Hack Halperin said it ain’t no big deal…er, I beg to differ. So much was made of Rubio being a GOP star and OMGHESHISPANIC….. so for the nominee, the standard bearer to treat him this way is unbelievable. It just goes to show you that Romney has a massive ego…and no one more exciting than a box of mayonnaise will be his VP pick. Rubio is not being vetted, the folks who ran Charlie Crists campaign against Rubio in Florida are the same folks running Romney’s campaign now….they know him….and they ain’t gonna pick him.
