Oh, Chips, you so made my day with these beautiful photos. So much love that flows from that beautiful father to his daughters. Happy Fathers Day to every dad or soon to be dad. And good memories to those whose fathers are no longer with them. My own father died 63 years ago, if you can believe it, and I still keep him close in my heart.

Good morning and Happy Father’s Day to our nations’s father, PBO, and to all of the fathers in our community. Have a wonderful day with those you love the most.

I always feel happy when I see photos of PBO with his girls; the natural mutual love and caring is beautiful to see. Thanks Chips.

Well it looks like my earlier comment got lost in the ether. Once again, thank you Chips, for making my day with these photos. There is so much love that flows from that beautiful man to his daughters–they are very fortunate young women. Happy Fathers day to all fathers or so-to-be dads. And good memories to those whose fathers are gone. I lost my own father 63 years ago, if you can believe it, and I still carry him in my heart. Fathers can make all the difference in your life.

Today Show a Willard infomercial again, long clips of his bus tour and appearances, a 1 second clip of PBO at immigration reform announcement, David Gregory not sure how that is going to be accepted.
And then—right to the daily report on The Royals. We (at my house) think it’s very strange that every day now there is a segment on The Royals. Started long before The Royal Wedding and continued thru the Queen’s Jubilee and is not stopping——the ROYAL NEWS is always near the top of the newscast, coming in at about #3 story of the day, but it’s there daily. Are they trying to make us into British subjects again? 🙂 What is the deal? Why are we supposed to care about all this? Weirdy.

    • June 17, 2012 at 8:44 am

All of this is an attempt to avoid discussing the serious issues of the day. Especially if it entails something that would put PBO in a positive light.

CBS Sunday morning is running an interview with Marco Rubio, which of course, will be followed with Mittens on Face the Nation. Well, I guess this answers the questions about running mates and where the company stands in this election. I am from Florida and I cannot stand Rubio. I will mute this part of the show and have coffee u til it is over. Then I will watch the segment with Maria Shiver and her brothers.

For more pleasant thoughts: usually PBO has an article somewhere about Father’s Day and being a father. Does anyone know if there is one somewhere for this year?

You know dotster, I am an ex-British citizen and I have to say I don’t understand it either. Americans seem to have a real love-hate relationship with British royalty. Historically they are against it, and proud to have rid themselves of King George. But in the present they seem to long for the Queen. I am very puzzled by it. It’s like they want to have their cake and eat it too.

    Happy Father’s Day!

My wonderful dad went away physically October 2010, but he is forever present in my thoughts. It is my memories which sustains his presence. He was a good father, kind, thoughtful, a very good provider, and he loved to garden. I miss all of his vegetsbles and watermelon, pears and plums. My parents had a garden all of their lives. They loved the earth. Dad and ma ma you all are at peace and I miss you all. Ma ma went away August 2009. Just remembering them.

You all have a blessed day.

Chgo daughter and fam were here yesterday for an early dad’s day get-together. Adorable little 2 1/2 yr. old grandson was playing with some toys in laundry room where Cardboard Obama is presently standing. He was staring at him, and I said, “That’s President Obama. Can you say President Obama?” And he said, “That’s Barack!” Made me laugh. Daughter said that’s because he asks who everyone is in photos on refridg—–“That’s Kris, that’s Katy, that’s Gavin, that’s Barack”——one of the family, familiar to him.

They are projecting victory to continue the kid gloves treatment the media gives them. Never in our history has such a flawed candidate like Romney is in a tight race with what pres Obama has accomplished. Romney is a serial lying bishop.

No way Romney wins MI, OH, VA. NC and IN will be tough this time around. But not impossible. IN is a mess due to the ousting of Lugar. So a win there, a senate win might help Dems out.

I have come to trully appreciate Smartypants….i am forever grateful to Chips..because thru her blog i have come to read so many gifted writers…

In order to get to the place where politicians can act, we need activist leaders working to reach the early majority and get them on board. That’s why you almost never heard of someone like Martin Luther King, Jr. focusing his efforts on getting politicians to pass civil rights legislation. His activism was all about opening the eyes of the early majority to the devastation of Jim Crow laws. The scales tipped into the late majority (mostly in Northern States) signing on to the message in the early 60’s and hence, the passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964. That never would have happened when they started the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955.

Chris Hayes had a fascinating discussion about the activism that brought the President to this historic change around immigration policy…it took me back to Smartypants piece listed above…about how public policy can be changed…

in this year of 2012…the President has made historic and courageous decisions….but he has not made these moves in a vacuum…he has acted because there was the will of the people …prodding …pushing….activating…the same thing that he talked about in that 1994 video…

so i am so ever hopeful that altho so much money is being thrown into this presidential race…it is the activism of the people that can change the politics….

    Forwarddddddddd>>>>>>We Will Not Go Back!

Lefties must be tenacious as they were over the years until in the 1990s. Never given up. People need to keep in mind what they want and keep at it until the goals are realized.

Dems hit the panic button too easily and too quickly. If things are not going our way, many bolt. Not worth having is easy. As the pres always says, having a name like BHO is not easy. Well I like my BHO. Work harder we must to get rid of Romney and his 32 Billionaires, politically.

GM, PF58! I love Smartypants too. 😆 😆 Her father-in-chief post this morning features a sweet video of the President & his family, narrated by FLOTUS. A must see!

  25. June 17, 2012 at 9:33 am

They are trying to win this, before the President starts to Campaign. But, it’s still a tie, no matter what the Beltway Media tells you, Robney did not have any knock out punches, and the electorate really does not like Him.
Robney might be confident, but everything would have to fall in place for Him and then he Might win. If this is what the Beltway is talking about, with assistance from them, then I still put money on POTUS and His ability to Campaign.

    • 45 criquet
      June 17, 2012 at 11:08 am

Setting the narrative about winning is to help smooth the road to acceptance when they try to steal the election by suppressing votes, finding votes that don’t exist and obstructing any recounts . That’s my take on this.

      • 46 susanne
        June 17, 2012 at 3:54 pm

yes, they’re setting the stage for their planned future, not reporting truthfully on current reality. self-fulfilling prophecy as business model taken to the political sphere.

C’mon people let’s be serious, of course Romney thinks he can win. What will he say…that he can’t? I hope he continues flying near the sun…the crash will just be spectacular. Currently on Pollster.com the pres has 260 electoral votes and Romney has 190. You need 270 to win. He has to win Florida (Gov Scott approval 38%) Michigan (Gov Snyder approval 40%)…Ohio (Gov Kasich approval less than 45%) . So, let Romney be confident and get sucked in by the media’s new OMGTISISGONNABECLOSE storyline. We just keep on chucking along.

    • June 17, 2012 at 9:49 am

Thank you! They are trying to spin a golden halo around Romney but he is so massively unworthy it will never work. People are fed up with right-wing extremism.

      • 52 Pamela
        June 17, 2012 at 10:06 am

You are so right, meta, it will never work. A ‘halo’ is an energetic field, it can only come from within, and spreads outward according to the consciousness level of the person generating it, creating it. Myth is nothing more than a black hole, sucking the life out of everyone and everything he contacts. That is why babies cry around him, and children run away, or try to shield themselves when he is near them. People are waking up, and they will come to know the right wing attempts to lead us all into darkness, and then they will understand the power they have in each and every vote. Happy Father’s Day to all the men we know and love, be they natural fathers or otherwise!

        • June 17, 2012 at 10:23 am

Exactly, they are two diametrically opposed spirits. The contrast of energy between PBO and Romney couldn’t be more stark. Warmest and coldest; compassionate vs pandering; man of the people vs arrogant 1%er; deeply held values vs lie-of-the-moment. It is evident to anyone who is paying attention.

          • 54 Pamela
            June 17, 2012 at 10:39 am

            In this very concise statement, meta, you have summed up and simplified the cricital juncture at which the very balance of our future stands. It is not a new struggle, it is surely one which has been influencing human life for many generations, perhaps for the entire history of the human story. It seems to me, perhaps only because I am living it this time, we stand at a point where all life on this little fragile planet is caught up in the decisions and choices we make now. I also feel it is a time of re-dedicating and centering our life force in the compassionate and ever-deepening Heart center. Inclusion, not separation, considering the needs of all, not just the desires of the few. PBO keeps saying it, clearly and truthfully, it is a make or break moment in our history. It is a wonderful time to be alive! God Bless You all, I must get ready for work now, but I will be here with you in spirit! {{{{{{{{{Chipsticks}}}}}}}}}}}

Well the last few days have been so busy I haven’t been able to do anything about protesting Newt Gingrich here in Missoula. A very close friend got married yesterday and I was busy with the whole wedding thing. I will be checking in with people today to find out what happened last night. I do now the Republican’s in Montana are really pushing for charter schools, vouchers and fewer teachers. That made headlines.

Off to church and Father’s Day events and we are also celebrating our 41st Anniversary today, but that day is really Tuesday the 19th. It’s just easier to do it all together.

    Have a wonderful day everyone!

Harold Ford is Artur Davis with uglier hair. The only reason they get life on the teevee is that they are black, democrat and constantly criticize the president. Re: Republicans confident of a win~~

I don’t dicount their confidence — and take it as a warning of whatever tricks they might be up to. GWB was confident of a Florida win, even when the state was declared for Kerry. Well, his team had information we didn’t have. And I do remember Kerry significantly ahead of Bush in the polling — until the Swift Boat ads appeared. Michigan just passed new voter suppression laws. What effect might that have in a tight race?

We aren’t involved in a fair debate here. We already know the vote will be skewed 3-4% points to Romney due to racism (and, the author of the recent research notes, about 1% to PBO due to more AA’s voting). These 2010 Republican governors have created enormous challenges for us. Our side is going to have to have a significant edge in the ground game.
