I’ve got one! Mr. Dotster is jealous of Cardboard Obama. He made me move him to the basement mid-2010. I have now brought him back upstairs in preparation for this election. Right now he greets me as I walk in laundry room from garage. Makes those tasks there much more enjoyable. I always say “Hi Barack!” And I smile. He smiles back. Mr. Dotster sighs. (He worries, or pretends to, that I like Obama the best of all) Cardboard Obama will soon assume a more prominent place—–in living room window and on the front porch. I like to see neighbors do a double take as they stroll by. It’s fun!

My cardboard Obama story is that my daughter got us tickets for my 2008 Xmas gift to go to an Inaugural Ball while I would be visiting her in DC inorder to go to the Inauguration. It was a high point of my life and her gift was a surprise and very welcome. ONLY this was not one of the balls the Obamas attended. SAD so I had my daughter take a photo of me with the cardboard Obama there at the ball.

In new attack, Romney ‘just making stuff up’

We know precisely why Romney makes claims like these. With Democrats arguing that Republicans are perhaps holding back the economy on purpose, Romney suddenly sees value in arguing, in effect, “No, no, it’s Obama who slowed the recovery on purpose.” The public isn’t sure who to believe, and before long, the “sabotage” picture becomes muddled, with each side leveling similar claims. The accuracy (or lack thereof) gets lost.

But we also know that Romney’s lying.

Asked about the claims, Schieber himself explained this morning, “That is false, in a variety of ways. I don’t believe that it’s substantively true.”

Jon Chait added that Romney is “just making stuff up.”

Author Says Romney Campaign Is Being Dishonest With His Words, Will Media Report It?

Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign has recently been misrepresenting Noam Scheiber’s book, The Escape Artists, to claim that President Obama knowingly hamstrung the economic recovery by pushing for health care reform. Yesterday, The Washington Examiner’s Byron York amplified the Romney campaign’s false allegation.

Further discrediting the attack, Scheiber told Talking Points Memo today that Romney’s comments are “false” and “not something I argue in the book.” From Talking Points Memo:
Media outlets reporting Romney’s latest attack on Obama have a responsibility to make clear that it’s utterly false.

    Lovely pictures.

How it’s going TOD. Today’s been a Baracktastic day. Austin is a liberal oasis in the red state that is TX and we love President Obama here but the level of love is going to insane levels. People are rocking their Obama 2012 gear like I’ve never seen before. It’s nuts and I love it. A lot of my professors and coaches have Obama 2012 bumper stickers on their cars; Black, White, Hispanic, Native American, Gay, Straight, Old, and Young are all rocking Obama 2012 gear. My college campus is overrun with Obama 2012 bumper stickers, shirts, hoodies, cute label tees. Cars on the road have an overwhelming number of Obama 2012 bumper stickers and I haven’t seen any Romney 2012 bumper sticker only Ron Paul 2012 for some weird reason.

I’ve been grinning like a fool all day. Students are fired up about voting for President Obama again or for the first time now that some of them are of age. My friend took a couple of culture and politics courses and she told me that students are overwhelmingly pro-Obama. They know about his successes and accomplishments and she told me they never hesitate to correct people – firmly; emphasis on the firm – when they spew rightwing nonsense about President Obama. Professors are dropping huge hints – even though they shouldn’t 😉 – that they are Obama 2012 all the way.

Today has most definitely been a Baracktastic day. The youth is definitely excited about voting for President Obama come November 6th. So don’t let the pundits fill your head with crap. 😀

Although I mentuioned on the last thread that TX is not outside the realm of possibility it remains a very long shot at best, you bring up a point that may, ultimately make some difference. The Paulites are really not happy with Romney. Specially his militaristic foreign policy. They are a group that might be cultivated to either vote for PBO or not vote at all. Although this might not matter much in other states, in TX it could. Still would be a very long shot.

There isn’t a single person of voting age in Northern Virginia that isn’t gonna be registered to vote for PBO by the time OFA gets finish with that area. In new attack, Romney ‘just making stuff up’
By Steve Benen – Thu Jun 7, 2012 12:30 PM EDT.

As a growing number of Democrats raise the “sabotage question” — the charge that Republicans might be deliberately hurting the American economy to advance an election agenda — Mitt Romney argued at a campaign event in Texas that it was actually President Obama who chose to slow the recovery.

In this case, Romney is citing a book from Noam Scheiber, “The Escape Artists,” on how Obama and his economic team confronted the Great Recession in 2009 and 2010.

So, once again, we have yet another example of Romney telling blatant lie. And the question, once again, is whether he’ll be called out for his mendacity, and whether voters and/or the media will care

Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, who supported Hillary Clinton Supporter during the 2008 primary, said on Thursday that Clinton would have been more effective in getting her proposals through Congress. “I think she would have come in with a lot more executive experience,” Rendell said on CBS’s “This Morning. ” I think the president was hurt by being a legislator only.”

For example, health care and the stimulus. Two bills that I think did good things for the American people, too much of it was left up to the Congress. He sort of said, ‘Here’s my concept, you guys flesh it out.’ I think Hillary Clinton would have sent them a bill and said, ‘Here’s what I want.’

As was often noted in 2009, however, was that Obama’s approach to passing health care reform was in part a response to Clinton’s failed attempt to pass reform in 1993, when she took a direct approach like the one Rendell described.

This guy is trying to sabotage President Obama.

But Jovie, I could understand if Romney’s side wanted to divide us, but it’s our side that is bad mouthing the President. And what hurts me the most is the blatant disregard for everything President Obama has accomplished.

I agree with you Jovie. This is a media calculated game of divide and conquer and we are falling for it. I see no need to go after Clinton and Rendell. They are not the enemy. There are Republicans who say critical things about Romney but the media elects not hype their criticism; yet the hype every dumb thing said by Democrats that they can twist to make it look like Democrats don’t support the President. And we keep obliging them. Personally, I see no need of attacking Bill Clinton who happens to still have a great deal of support in the Democratic party. Our focus should be on winning in November and we mustn’t let the media provoke us in going after each other.

I was looking for the article where Clinton says he is not working for the Obama campaign…..I got this though and it got me thinking:

”Some observers have asserted that Clinton does not want Obama to win the November elections. Others have alleged that although Hillary Clinton has denied it, she plans to run for president in 2016, and her supporters and strategists believe that she stands a better chance in 2016 if Obama loses to Romney in 2012.”

Would it be the opposite though? If the President wins (he will) she has a better chance?……I’m very confused by all this,..

That theory will only work for Hillary if black folk get amnesia in 2016, which we won’t.

I’m curious as to the source of this article. I suspect it’s a speculation by a right leaning, Romney-supporting outlet who is using this to drive a wedge. This whole MSM Clinton stuff is all about helping Mitt Romney retake the WH in 2012. It’s not about the Clintons at all.

The fact that he’s being giving interviews every day says it all though….it would not be the case if there was no controversy. If the media sense that you are not helping the President, they will invite you over and over. Maxime Walters comes to mind…..

Yes but we’ve seen what typically happens to DEMS who go on TV to bash PBO…think Weiner, Grayson, Kucinich, Cornell West, Smiley,

Three possible outcomes: 1)They become SHUNNED, 2)victims of bad karma, or 3) their ego eventually destroys them.

Pushed by the Robney Campaign. Rendell is their latest experiment.
          They are playing dirty!

That is just silly…..historically it is much harder to beat the incumbent.

I hope they remember that the African American vote is crucial to a Democratic President. If they undermine President Obama the Clintons will lose a lot of AA votes and she WILL NOT win.

So those “observers” are saying that the Clintons don’t give a shite about their country? Only their own power trip? If true..what f**kers..of the the Planet.

Oh, and Ed Rendell has toxic bad breath.

I think Rendell is on a book tour & they all believe in their small minds they won’t be booked if they don’t say something negative about PBO & that’s the only way to make news & sell books.
