Whenever an adult says to an african american child, “you can grow up to be whatever you want, even president”, it is no longer just words but a distinct possibility.

I’m bringing this post over from a previous thread – I guess I caught the tail end of it – because it is really good and really needs to be read and spread around. The Peoples View – Failures From Occupy to Wisconsin: An Inconvenient Truth for the Purist Left
“The beating that the Left took last night in Wisconsin can’t be sugar-coated. Scott Walker survived his recall election by a good seven point margin, and all but one of the other Republicans did as well.
From the perspective of the Left media (though I find it a little amusing to see the same Left media outlets that took money from Scott Walker complaining about this), the blame for the loss is being put squarely on the shoulder of Citizens United and Walker’s 8-to-1 money advantage, and there is no doubt that cash coming through the Citizens-United-opened the floodgates is drowning our democracy. Nonetheless, hanging it all on Citizens United ignores a crucial cause for this defacing loss: the ideologue Left themselves…”
This is an extremely righteous, well thought out, and powerfully expressed rant about the responsibility of the Professional Purity Left for the WI vote. The comments are great too.
You are ‘killing’ me, Chips. I HAVE to go to bed. No more new postings tonight……PLEASE!!!!!!!! 🙂 G’night all. See you on the flip side.
Oh, request: I have been searching for the piece Romney wrote for the National Review (Dec. 19, 2008) that LOD did his Rewrite about. Cannot find it. Want to print it. Have a feeling the link (and hard copy) may come in VERY handy the next few months, maybe first with my hubby. 🙂 If anyone can help–thanks! I’ll get it tomorrow morning.
I just wrote a little thingy about this, left it up to take a phone call, came back, and here is another new thread….I can’t keep up with the conversation today…I think that this article should go all over the place1 He calls for immediate stimulus, renewable energy, many of the same things he’s bashing the President about, (What else is new) All written with the sterility of a Harvard MBA elitist know it all though….check out the tone AND the substance!
A little OT. I just watched my recording of Michelle’s top 10 on Letterman and I have to say that Letterman really likes FLOTUS. He did a great promotion for her book. Does anyone know how the sales are going? I have my copy. 🙂
Hi TOD family…This will be my last word on Wisconsin, they I will let it go.
Yes the money that was poured into that state to save Walker was huge, but Wisconsin voters knew that money was coming in from pepole like the Koch brothers, they knew what Walker had done and what his plans are….they still voted for him. My question to anyone out there from Wiscosin…WHY? Perhaps they are happy with Walker, they voted for him again. The money issue makes me sick. Everytime I get a donation request from OFA I put in 15-25 dollars and, like I told my husband last night…I need that money to buy me new shoes, but I want so much to help. Finally last night I couldn’t take it…I cried. My puny contributions are nothing compared to these billionaires, and what about all the mega rich Obama supporters? We that can afford the least contribute so much …not only in money but in our time. I guess I’m just feeling down…knowing I’m just a tiny ant.
Carla, you are not a tiny ant, though I am sure understand how, after last night, you feel that way. Always remember, President Obama built his entire 2008 campaign on people like us, who contributed small amounts regularly, and were proud to do so. I will continue to contribute until election day, or I reach my maximum allowable. I always remember the story in the gospels of Jesus and the widow with the penny. He said, she has given more than all these (pointing to the wealthy men around her) I believe that, and I believe our money goes farther and better than Koch brothers’ type money.
I am glad for the big time donors, we need them desperately, since elections have become a money game, thanks to Citizens United. I’m praying that more of them will step up to counteract the PACS of the far right.
Also, it’s people like us who register, knock on doors, canvass…..put the shoe leather into the process.
I heard on Ed Schultz tonight, from John Nichols, that Walker’s side blasted Wisconsin with ads for eight months before the Democrats even had a candidate, and there was not enough time to counteract. When you consider the long time of ads, the amount of money spent, Walker didn’t get a very good return on his money, from the figures.
Keep your head up. We’ve all had our cry, and now we will redouble our efforts!
I heard someone say today that all those millions spent on Walker had the effact of bringing him back to his starting point. Certainly not a good return on investment.
I so agree, carolyn, and you stated it beautifully. Every little contribution we make is important because it comes with love and the determination to help our president. As Bobfr has many times stated so eloquently, this is a battle of love vs hate and I believe love is stronger. Sometimes the sheer depth of dark ugliness emanating from people like the Koch Brothers seems overwhelming. But the darkness will not overcome the light and we are the light.
Just remember they dropped 30 mil on a guy just to retain his seat against a guy who lost to him last time around in an election with poor dem turnout. It’s not a great victory for them despite their crowing.
Carla,lLooking for answers to help me come to terms with this disappointment I found a couple of good articles.that helped me. Here is one. Maybe it will help you. {{Carla}}
$1 a day keeps Mitt Away. If all eligible FB followers and tweeps following @BarackObama contributed $1 day until election that would be more than $2 billion. If we could make this viral and get people contributing their $15-25 this would make a huge difference. If you contribute even a small amount you are more invested in the pain, GOTV etc.
Watched the segment of LOD with the young man and his family. What a respectful and well spoken family they are! It was a very touching segment, and shows indeed what our president is. Why do people give him a bad rap so much!! He is the most human and humane and giving president of my LONG life. That picture shows a very tender moment.
I have been reading for the past 15 minutes about that Romney’s story…impersonating a cop….when something creeps me out, I need to know all the details
This comment in a blog really answer anyone who think it was just ”pranks”
”….but pranks like that are done when you are with a group of friends. But going out on your own, and using the uniform to pull drivers over is just plain creepy. ”
Exactly, that’s the creepy part….on his own….with no witnesses…….yickes….
And I found this as well, I’m shaking my head at this point, it’s just too weird…
In 2008, during Mitt Romney’s campaign, his director of operations, Jay Garrity, resigned after several allegations that he unduly claimed to be a police officer.
Not only has Garrity claimed to be an officer of the law, but in 2004, he was cited by Boston’s Finest for carrying police equipment – including flashing lights, which are restricted to law enforcement vehicles only – in his Crown Victoria sedan
This, however, was not isolated to one Romney member staff exclusively. Mark Glanville and William Ritter, had been cited as using fake badges, provided by Garrity. They used these badges to command reporters and to avoid paying highway tolls which are mandatory for any citizen to pay.
i wrote this before the jump, but gotta say it again: it’s just a matter of time before even more creepy stuff about robme rolls out. can’t wait to hear from the young women he pulled over with his phony red light and official police uniform. i’m wondering how he behaved at that point–and if the women feel safe in this koch-ed up world telling their story.
Even then, trying to get something for nothing. (tolls) Creepy doesn’t even cover it. He’s a flipping wack job! I always think of Lurch from the Adams family….
Think you’re correct on that LL. I found the RM report tonight very disturbing on a number of levels. Many years ago I was a prosecutor and know the struggles that the police face on a daily basis. While there always seem to be a few bad apples everywhere for the most part officers go to work every day willing to put their lives on the line. To think that this idiot used the uniform as a prank is beyond disgusting. His deferments from the draft and then his lies about them are also deeply troubling. For those of us who lived through those times there were so many emotional conflicts. On the one hand, I demonstrated against that war while at the same time watching my boyfriend be drafted, not seek a deferment and go on to fight. He came back to a US that treated our soldiers terribly and had emotional scars from that war that lasted for years. So here’s Romney demonstrating FOR the war but being unwilling to serve, and then saying in 2007 he that he longed to be a part of it? He is so lacking in any core values or beliefs it is truly mind boggling.
One of the things that will forever stand out to me is the consistency in Barack Obama. During the 2008 campaign, an audio tape surfaced of a radio interview he did nearly 20 years before when Dreams was first published. With a few minor differences, he sounded the identical themes that he campaigned on in 2008. It totally blew my mind that there was such a core of strength, values and beliefs that were so constant throughout his life. While the realities of the Oval office have changed him in some ways, you KNOW that he believes in his values through and through. And if they haven’t changed until now in his life, you know they will not for the remainder. For me, and I would think for most voters, this MATTERS more than any one political position or issue. We know who this man is, unlike his opponent. I’m beginning to wonder if even Ann has a clue who she is married to!
In The Real Romney, a biography published by Boston Globe reporters Michael Kranish and Scott Helman this year, another former friend recalled how Romney had “put a siren on top of his car and chased two of his friends who were driving around with their dates.” The two friends were in on the scheme, but the girls were not. There was beer in the car trunk, according to a prearranged plan. Mitt told his two counterparts to get out of their vehicle and into his car. Then they drove off, leaving the girls behind.
I bet I’m not the only one that doesn’t think this is funny.
I am sure he did all of this weird stuff because his father was governor and he knew that he would get him out of trouble if he ws arrested. He was a rich kid bully and I find it appaling and creepy. He need to see a shrink.
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I want to thank You for giving us the man named Barack Obama. Thank You, Sir, for making him our President. Thank You for his lovely family First Lady Michelle, and First Daughters Malia and Sasha and First Grandmother Mrs. Robinson. They have been such a blessing in the White House. Lord, let them continue to be an even bigger blessing over the next 5 years. Lord, thank You for protecting these precious ones. Thank You for guarding their minds, hearts, souls, spirits and bodies. Give them the strength and ability to do what YOU have called them to do. Thank you for giving Our Beloved President continual wisdom, courage, thoughtfulness and finances to continue on his mission. Shower them with Your Powerful Love. Keep Your strong arms around them always. Lord love also the Joe Biden family as they are also a very important part of this team. Surround both families with decent and brave and kind people who have their backs. Let the American public and the world continue to know who we have in office and how beneficial it is for all. Lastly, Lord thank You for giving them the strong and powerful victory on November 6, 2012 and be a strong enemy to their enemies and adversary to their adversaries. Contend with those who contend with them. I know that You are for them. Amen.
I watched the video in the post below and thought “I can’t believe our President has another round tonight, while the sluggards in Congress are shameless enough to question his work ethic.”
@BarackObama, we see you working really hard; we see you campaigning on our B1/2; we see you tired but pressing on; & we C Congress doing 0!
the san jose newspaper tells a bit about pbo’s event in san francisco. it also mentions that there were about a hundred protesters outside: tea partiers, medical marijuana supporters, alaska wilderness protectors, and…..drum roll please…..circumcision protestors. yep, those are the big issues all right. http://www.mercurynews.com/news/ci_20800532/obama-back-bay-area-more-campaign-cash
This man is a US Senator of the United States of America, in one of the three branches of government in the richest country in the world and running the world’s only super power. That’s scary.
and that’s how they behave when they know the cameras are right on them! utter disregard for the office, for the job at hand, for the people who put them there.
I will be listening to Stephanie Miller tomorrow morning. I hope they mention this. Stephanie interviewed Dr. Jill Biden this morning about her new book.
I heard that, too. I broke my embargo because Hal Sparks is on Wednesdays, and what I heard was fairly reasoned – given the disappointing Wisconsin results last night. Dr.Biden was lovely, and the Stephanie Miller crew were stoked. I’m recording Stephanie on Current tomorrow morning, because I want to hear all about the fundraiser tonight – she was super excited about meeting the President. I hope she actually gets to meet him, and that he knows she’s been fighting pretty hard for him even through the hard times when the emoprogs (including those two on her show) were rabidly anti-President Obama. Can’t wait to hear her account.
I know. Scott sent a letter to the DOJ that seems to give them the big FU….and none of the counties are participating in Scott’s little voter purge. I hope THAT shyster ends up out on his ass, too.
That would be good! I talked to my dad about Scott when he was here for my son’s graduation…and told him that I didn’t understand why that guy wasn’t in jail because of Medicare fraud perpetrated on the people of FL…and then they all vote for him and REWARD his criminal behavior!!
Thank you so much:) Yeah, I could see a roll of paper towels…:) Those kids were amazing, and doing, what I believe, comes so naturally to them. Wasn’t it Jonah Goldberg that was all about dissing kids this week? I don’t know what kids HE knows…but he could sure learn a few things from THESE kids!
I hope this gets passed all over the place. President Obama’s America. The one that encourages, supports, and stands together.
thanks a lot for passing this along. this is the kind of America I want to see. among those who you tweet this video to should be PBO – he would like this show of support for the vulnerable
Thanks for the warning….now I am crying but a good cry. Young Matt is such a fighter, he wasn’t gonna give up and those kids cheering him on gave him the strength to cross the finish line. These kids can teach many adults on the right about compassion.
Hi, Bob:) I heard that interview tonight, and even more than the bowing…his mother said something that touched me…she said something like” The President didn’t treat him like a little child, but as an equal” That just about got the water works going for me. That was SUCH a powerful statement.
Morning Joe, Dan Senor, and Mark Halperin went on a 15 minute rant that The New York Times has an article about Willard’s house in La Jolla, saying there would never be such an article about a Democrat. It is in the “Home and Garden” section.
Bill Press is suprised that the HP has a negative article on PBO.
And this is the discussion we wake up to on teevee.
I doubt if these people have been following the reports on these MSM outlets and how much PBO has been attacked on things that go even beyond the article on mitt the bullying liar’s house
Oh, they’ve followed it. They just choose to engage in lies, deceit and gutter journalism. They’d rather say something sensational and create something controversial than inform and educate the people. I would love to see a daily segment about a company who’s coming back from this mess and hiring people; a place that’s under construction; a school that’s moving FORWARD, etc. etc.
thanks a lot for the video of the interview with the young man in PBO’s photo and his family. I have loved this photo evr since I saw it and I continue to love, love it.
I noticed that some people on TOD have been tweeting about HOW a small contribution from the millions of supporters of PBO could help to close the gap in money from the billionaire rightwing hate machine headed by the koch brothers. This is a great thing and should be pased around
President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party have raised a combined $60 million in May for his re-election effort.
The totals helped the president exceed his fundraising haul in April, when his campaign and his party raised $43.6 million.
//
Obama and the Democratic National Committee and other state-focused funds have brought in about $450 million during the 2012 election.
The president’s campaign staff said on Twitter that more than 572,000 people donated in May, bringing their total to 2.2 million donors for his re-election.
we need to continue point out this devastation from austerity policies to the general American public which may not be following global politics (or politics at all) because this is a real-life but sad experiment conservatives across the world are subjecting people to.
You need to stimulate jobs and by implication consumer income. from this consumer income comes consumer demand/purchases which leads to business sales and profits. businesses and households which have positive earnings can pay taxes. taxes paid by a thriving business and household can help with the revenue side of a simple and complicated government balance sheet. budget cutting alone is not enough
“Survey: Jobs numbers not that bad”
Only 42% thought the May jobs numbers was somewhat or very negative. Despite the narrative that the media and GOP were trying to lay out that the numbers were devastating, catastrophic, etc most Americans didn’t feel that way. Could suggest that the public knows that a couple of months of lower job growth does not signal the end of the world and certainly not the end of PBOs path to reelection. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0612/77151.html
A coalition of environmental groups is preparing to launch television ads in New Mexico as the state gears up for an open-seat Senate race, two strategists monitoring the campaign tell me.
The sources say five organizations are banding together to run ads spanning nearly two full months: starting on June 16 and running until Aug. 4. One source pegged the cost of the flight at just over $850,000. Another suggested it could climb closer to a million dollars when all the buying is done.
The groups involved, the sources said, are the League of Conservation Voters, the Sierra Club, Defenders of Wildlife, the National Wildlife Federation and the Natural Resources Defense Council Action Fund. Spokespeople for LCV and the Sierra Club declined to confirm the details of any plans that might be in the works.
“We’ll have something to announce soon. Stay tuned,” said Mike Palamuso, LCV’s vice president for communications.
President Obama concluded a star-studded evening of fundraising in Los Angeles Wednesday, appearing with singer Cher, actresses Ellen DeGeneres and Julia Roberts, and “Glee” stars Jane Lynch and Darrin Criss, among others.
In L.A. for two fundraisers (one for LGBT activists), Obama lauded the progress the country has made on gay rights — telling a story about a straight Marine who thanked him for ending the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy of the U.S. military.
“I could not be prouder of the work that we’ve done on behalf of the LGBT community,” said Obama in front of a crowd of about 600 at the Beverly Wilshire hotel.
Criss and DeGeneres introduced Obama, and the president was joined by L.A. mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, California Attorney General Kamala Harris, Cher, actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson of Modern Family and others.
At a second, smaller fundraiser at the home of Fox’s “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy, Obama joked that he would not be breaking into song.
He was joined at that fundraiser by Witherspoon Banana Republic/Gap Inc. president Jack Calhoun, Glee actress Jane Lynch, and HBO executive Michael Lombardo.
“The key in 2012 is going to be how badly do we want it. Are we willing to fight for that vision with even greater determination than we did in 2008,” Obama told supporters, who each pay $25,000 a ticket.
Obama wraps up his fundraising tour with a fundraising breakfast in L.A. on Thursday — a two day swing that is expected to bring in at least $5.3 million for his reelection bid.
HEADLINE: Young and Black Voters Turn Out in Wisconsin Despite Suppression Efforts
// It may not feel like there’s anything positive to make out of the unsuccessful bid to recall Gov. Scott Walker in yesterday’s Wisconsin elections, but there were hints of optimism. Young voters and African-American voters did more than their part to show up, according to exit polls and early reports, despite significant efforts to confuse and challenge them from groups that profess to be fighting voter fraud.
In Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett’s seven-point loss to Walker, voters aged 18-29 increased their slice of the electorate from 15 percent in 2010 to 16 percent yesterday. Black voters came out mob-deep. John Nichols, who’s been covering Wisconsin inside-out for The Nation, reported, “Turnout was up dramatically, so much so that on election day election clerks had to be shifted to predominantly African-American wards.”
This was mainly true in Racine and Milwaukee, where young people and people of color have seen enough murder and lack of educational and economic opportunity to drive them to the polls, recall or not. //
Wow! have I missed a lot over the last week and a half! Just spent the last few hours catching up and already my head is spinning. Been in hospital for an op and missed being here and catching up. I chatted to a lady in the bed near mine about PBO (was listening to the audio of Dreams From My Father). She has an aunt in the States who, when PBO was elected was really against him but now realizes that he is the best president of her lifetime and intends to vote for him this year. Didn’t ask what state she was from but it was good to hear.
Hope you guys are all ok, I probably wont be around too much in the next few days as I need to sleep but will ALWAYS support this wonderful man. Will be back when I can.
This is why I love me some Lawrence O’Donnell. Besides the fact that smart men turn me on, he really gives black intellectuals, black people and black life much needed air time.
I love this photo!

I promise to mind manners!

That is kind of a metaphor for what the GOP is trying to do to our President, the whole Tanya Harding thing… IMO.
Best segment EVER!
What a beautiful photo.
Wow, congrats, Intern blows everyone out again! Night all.
Dear Chips, I love the way that you are slinging up these great posts. They are keeping me mentally sharp!
What’s POTUS schedule tomorrow?
Late night!! Thanks for the new post Chips. hello TOD. great clip!
Ok, the more that comes out about Willard, the more I think that he’s a sociopath. He has no understanding of other people, nor a regard for them. He’d probably shun his own children if they upset his world in any way.
I agree LL. He is scary. If he wins the presidency, I am afraid of what he will do because he has no consideration for others.
What are you refering to, LL?
Read and shudder.
This needs to go viral.
Read. Thanks. Ann is welcome to this guy who really has nothing positive to share with the nation.

And they did win back the Senate. Wisconsinites took away any ideas Walker may have had about claiming a mandate if Republicans hold that seat.
Yup. There ain’t no ‘mandate, especially with criminal charges against him coming down the pike.
Carla,lLooking for answers to help me come to terms with this disappointment I found a couple of good articles.that helped me. Here is one. Maybe it will help you. {{Carla}}

My Dad says, “what he was, is what he is”. Nobody’s buying Romney’s act – nobody who can think, that is…
Think you’re correct on that LL.
FoxfireTX….thank you for your words, they keep me inspired.
This is so true, about his consistency.
Well said Firefox, well said.
game 1 – 😀
game 2 – 😀
game 3 – 😀
tonight game 4 – 😥
Game 5 better be – 😀
that is all.
I really wanted to win in our house, but I’d rather win in theirs at this point and wrap it up.
Wait. ROMNEY IMPERSONATED A COP?????
WTF????????
When he was younger….one of his ”pranks”…..
He pulled over WOMEN?
Read it here :
http://www.nationalmemo.com/did-young-mitt-romney-impersonate-a-police-officer-another-witness-says-yes/
Yeah, what a prankster!
Isn’t there a crime involved of some level to impersonating an officer of the law? This man is beyond sick!
Yes, but he never GOT CAUGHT. I say that character is what you do when no one is watching. #MittFail
If this guy is not a sociopath, I don’t know what he is but there’s something really wrong with him
I am sure he did all of this weird stuff because his father was governor and he knew that he would get him out of trouble if he ws arrested. He was a rich kid bully and I find it appaling and creepy. He need to see a shrink.
anybody who votes for him needs to see a shrink.
Sounds like George Zimmerman.
This, Meta.
Amen.
Amen!!!
Amen, vitaminlover. Amen!
Amen
Amen, amen, and amen!
Amen
Beautiful. Amen.
I watched the video in the post below and thought “I can’t believe our President has another round tonight, while the sluggards in Congress are shameless enough to question his work ethic.”
the san jose newspaper tells a bit about pbo’s event in san francisco. it also mentions that there were about a hundred protesters outside: tea partiers, medical marijuana supporters, alaska wilderness protectors, and…..drum roll please…..circumcision protestors. yep, those are the big issues all right.
http://www.mercurynews.com/news/ci_20800532/obama-back-bay-area-more-campaign-cash
No where near 100 people protesting.
http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/video?id=8691856&pid=8691402
thanks for that video, meta! love seeing him and his supporters. and you’re right, that was a puny and pitiful handful of protesters.
You’re welcome!
Where is the RT, you snark ? Just saying RT doesn’t cut it.
feet tap, tap, tap
Needs to go viral. This is really sick, and a felony.
Funny Funny Funny! Listen to the thing!!!! “Standard Obama….”
Heh. What a doofus.
Did use the “F” bomb?
This man is a US Senator of the United States of America, in one of the three branches of government in the richest country in the world and running the world’s only super power. That’s scary.
and that’s how they behave when they know the cameras are right on them! utter disregard for the office, for the job at hand, for the people who put them there.
Here is local story w/pics of FLOTUS visit to Philly. http://www.philly.com/philly/news/breaking/20120606_In_Philly__first_lady_roots_for_her_husband.html
Good Story, Thanks Alycee. ***Warning*** don’t read the vile comments.
You’re welcome. BTW, thanks for adding the warning; as I NEVER read newspaper comments, didn’t think to add one.
hit ’em again tally!
Help me spread this guys!
Hot damn Chipsticks…..you are getting more and more famous…..don’t forget the little people that helped you reach starr status. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
I’m on a roll.
I will be listening to Stephanie Miller tomorrow morning. I hope they mention this. Stephanie interviewed Dr. Jill Biden this morning about her new book.
I heard that this morning….so cool. I can’t wait until she interviews the president or first lady.
That would be awesome. 🙂
Great News!! http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/06/06/2836567/league-of-women-voters-to-restart.html#storylink=cpy
League of Women Voters will start voter registrations in Florida….
This is excellent news! It was sad that they were bullied into opting out in the first place.
I know. Scott sent a letter to the DOJ that seems to give them the big FU….and none of the counties are participating in Scott’s little voter purge. I hope THAT shyster ends up out on his ass, too.
http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/06/06/495952/update-florida-governor-rick-scott-officially-defies-justice-department-vows-to-continue-voter-purge/
He needs to be in jail. He should have a cell with Scott Walker on one side, and Mitt Romney on the other.
That would be good! I talked to my dad about Scott when he was here for my son’s graduation…and told him that I didn’t understand why that guy wasn’t in jail because of Medicare fraud perpetrated on the people of FL…and then they all vote for him and REWARD his criminal behavior!!
Have the Kleenex handy. THIS is the America that President Obama speaks of, and the only one I care to be a part of.
Read the piece at C&L…a metaphor for America

I shared your wonderful video ….

I was in tears watching this. Matt is courageous. The kids were awesome (kids have good hearts). And those parents have to be so proud. Awesome.
#FORWARD
THANKS!! Now YOU’RE gonna make me cry! I hope they all see this.
thanks a lot for passing this along. this is the kind of America I want to see. among those who you tweet this video to should be PBO – he would like this show of support for the vulnerable
Can’t help but imagine the bullying this kid would get at the hands of young Mitt. What a lovely and touching vide. Thanks!
Wow! that was was beautiful. Thank you, Bob. Tears are streaming down my face.
Thanks Bob for this sharing with us this amazing display of kindness from our youngest citizens. This moved me to tears as well. I have happily R’Ted!
Thanks for the warning….now I am crying but a good cry. Young Matt is such a fighter, he wasn’t gonna give up and those kids cheering him on gave him the strength to cross the finish line. These kids can teach many adults on the right about compassion.
you warned me about needing kleenex but that wasn’t even enough to contain the tears. thanks a lot for sharing
A little game: Look at this photo and pick out the wax figures!

Same plastic surgeon as Callista, I see. “Plastic” being the operative word here….freaking scary.
Hey yeah, I think you’re right about that. I cringe just looking at them. The Lost Decade.
Would love to have those 10 years back….is it just you and me, meta? Check out the video above…it really is a MUST SEE….:) you will get teary…
Not very flattering….. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/06/06/video-romneys-ceo-style-of-governing/
The Bushes seem confused. But Laura seems to have lost weight. I’m glad the day went well.
Sorry – I meant this comment for the Mrs-O.org article, with the picture of the portrait unveiling.
The power of humilty & empathy …
#FORWARD
Hi, Bob:) I heard that interview tonight, and even more than the bowing…his mother said something that touched me…she said something like” The President didn’t treat him like a little child, but as an equal” That just about got the water works going for me. That was SUCH a powerful statement.
Bob,
you captured the essence of PBO – humility and empathy and this picture and interview have both of them there for all to see
Night. See everyone tomorrow….maybe I’ll be able to keep up with Chips this time.
Morning shows update:
Woot, woot
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2012/06/07/us/politics/ap-us-obama-fundraising.html?_r=1&hp
President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party have raised a combined $60 million in May for his re-election effort.
The totals helped the president exceed his fundraising haul in April, when his campaign and his party raised $43.6 million.
//
Obama and the Democratic National Committee and other state-focused funds have brought in about $450 million during the 2012 election.
The president’s campaign staff said on Twitter that more than 572,000 people donated in May, bringing their total to 2.2 million donors for his re-election.

President Barack Obama and his party raise a combined $60 million in May for re-election bid.
will the americans learn from this ?
Wow, this is what Robney and his ilk are offering.
we need to continue point out this devastation from austerity policies to the general American public which may not be following global politics (or politics at all) because this is a real-life but sad experiment conservatives across the world are subjecting people to.
But but but Ezra said unless he gets His Lunch money back that he thinks you should vote for Robney and…
LOL!

Don’t worry Jovie. She’ll be voted out soon.

Good morning…
I saw Dan Senor was at the table at 6 AM this morning on morning junk. Wasn’t he there for 3 hours just a couple days ago?
Even Willie has jumped the shark..
Robney advisers have taken over MSNBainC!
Whenever Dan Senor comes on Morose Joe it is a good sign that President Obama is doing well.

CBS news days that 68% want the ACA struck down.
And if they do, all those benefits will be forfeited and People will say but…
Wow! have I missed a lot over the last week and a half!
Love you all.
Sam UK
Sam, hope you are feeling much better soon! You have been missed.
This is why I love me some Lawrence O’Donnell. Besides the fact that smart men turn me on, he really gives black intellectuals, black people and black life much needed air time.
