GA, Amk. I’ve seen you giving computer advice before, so tell me, what do I do if the right side of my page is off the screen so I can’t see the ‘post comment’ button, etc? Obviously I can’t click on it to move it in so what do I do? I’ve been fiddling for close to 10 minutes now. and am quite ‘nauseated’ with it. I’ve turned it on and off, but that didn’t work. You’ve got to help if only to keep me out of the insane asylum (do they still have those institutuions?) I’m posting this using my ‘live feed’ browser which seems to be fine. VC

What is your browser, IE, firefox or chrome ?

Press ctrl and – together. Does your screen size reduce ?

Okay, Amk, I shut it down for 10+ minutes and it seems to be back to normal [I. hate. technology.]. So don’t worry. I’m using it for this entry and the ‘post comment’ button is right where it should be. I haven’t a clue what its problem was before, other than to irritate the beejebus out of me – which it DID! Thanks though, just for reading my cry for help.

That’s all! Well, I don’t have any change, I just have ducats, and I’m not changing them to give you a tip. You’ll have to wait until your rate is worth more. 🙄 (I was trying to remember that currency you & CC discussed recently, but the old brain wouldn’t cooperate. Another sign that today may be a go-back-to-bed day for me. We’ll see as it progresses.

An ‘old lady’!!!! I just saw that. You wound me, Pamela. Sigh. Friendship just isn’t what it used to be like in the good old days! I thought that was a shared secret, a just-between-the-two-of-us-not-meant-for-virtual-eyes kind of deal. I guess I was wrong. I’ll have to reflect on whether to reassign BFF as BFS.

BFF best friend forever ….to ….BFS – best friend sporadically? Then define and restrict sporadically to those times when you hit the post first? I’ll have to think on this. Were you being practising a sort of Bookerism OR were you really trying to help my cause?

Did anybody see Stephanie Cutter eviscerate Fernstrom!
She was on offense, got a lot of zingers in on Robney, Fernstrom had the usual talking points which were easily refuted.
George Will tried to save Fernstrom on the economic news and Ribneys plans, and Krugman shot Him down as well.
    It was wonderful!!!

There’s crazy, and then there’s CRA—ZEE! Every sentence out of West’s mouth makes one think he must have been dropped on his head as a baby—-or hit over the head with a sledge hammer somewhere along the way. Joe Walsh is another—-just completely whacko. These are 2 teabaggers who need to be excised from our govt forever and ever. That 2010 tea party freshman class has been the worst ever, not a teaspoon of decency or common sense among them, and they are largely responsible for the total obstruction. And they control the Repub Party. The Repub Party is a Teabagger Party now.

Hachiko..if you’re here 🙂 By the way, thank you for the Rise and Shine, Ms. Chips…my computer was behaving like I feel after my 4:30am wake up this morning….

Talked to my husband and his advice was to check CareerBuilder or Indeed.com or SimplyHired and look under “training” or Electronic Medical Records training” “EPIC training”
He said there are many different kinds of people in his class, not necessarily with a healthcare background, but with some teaching background. Like I said, he’s from the financial services industry, but he was an instructor in the Navy, and is an adjunct professor even now. If you have good presentation skills, you can get through this.

After you find these training positions on those job sites, apply. The credentialing part comes AFTER you have mastered the coursework in the training sessions. THEN you present in front of people from EPIC and they credential you to be able to teach their courses in the hospital setting or wherever it will be.

There are also recruiters that are looking for people to fill these positions and you would contract out with them, which is what my husband does right now. Understand that EVERY HOSPITAL and medical office that takes Federal money (which has got to be ALL of them, if they want their Medicare/Medicaid money, HAS to do this!….they have to have these Electronic Medical Records systems in place by a certain time to get the money) Big push right now to get this done. Keep looking. Keep fighting…..Don’t worry about the sponsoring thing. It is true that you need to be sponsored, but if you contract out, it is the temp agency that hires you that sponsors you. If you work for the hospital directly, THEY are the ones that will sponsor you. Don’t get too caught up in that right now….get your foot in the door. Good luck, and let me know what you find.

MHP and former Gov. Wilder agree that Willard appears to be a “very nice person”, no one for the voters to fear, not extreme. Have they not been paying attention at all? They are painting a moderate picture of Willard which is as about as far away from the nature of his policies as you can get. I think the Willard campaign just sent another thank you note to msnbc.

The well recognized fact Wilard is a liar is a factor in his qualifications to be POTUS. It should be stressed. We have no idea if he is lying about his policies or not.

A blatant and habitual liar. Maybe “total inability to tell the truth” would be more palatable? DRIVES ME INSANE that it doesn’t seem important to the MSM. It reminds me of Nixon actually. By 1960 THE WHOLE COUNTRY knew he was a bizarre, dishonest, cravenly ambitious creep. But he just kept showing up and just kept getting completely undeserved credability.

his policies are that of the far right….he endorses the Ryan budget…he wants to repeal health care…he wants to repeal DODD-Frank, to defund planned parenthood…bomb Iran,…and the list goes on and on…..

And, PF, anyone who brings on John Bolton as a foreign policy advisor has already told you all you need to know about his intention to wreak havoc in the world. Our world situation is too dangerous and our economic growth too important to relegate it to someone who “seems nice” to old men like Wilder and Carter.

Great job! GOTV is the most important thing we need to do prior to the election. I once saw Jesse Jackson give a speech to a group of high school seniors. At the end of the speech, he passed around voter registration forms and told them this was one of the most important forms they would complete in their lifetimes. The kids eagerly completed the forms. He really made them understand how important it is to vote. But, the best thing is that all of those forms were collected and submitted. What a way to GOTV!

    June 3, 2012 at 11:13 am

In case anyone missed the article by Jason Easely, please read it. I know that I have never voted for anyone based on the “economy” or unemployment number or the stock market.

    • June 3, 2012 at 12:03 pm

That’s the top of the ticket in a nutshell. They will never be able to change the fact that people like the President more than Romney. Period.

    • 82 jackiegrumbacher
      June 3, 2012 at 12:15 pm

Debz, this article is right on target. The bottom line truth is that Romney is NOT a likeable guy. He makes people uncomfortable and does not get better the more you know him. His country club wife does NOT soften him and, in fact, reinforces the idea that he’s an out-of-touch rich guy. So when Easely says, most voters go with their gut and who they want to see on their tv, he’s nailed it. PBO and FLOTUS are the warmest, most approachable people ever to occupy the WH. They consciously turned it into the people’s house, not some rich guy’s mansion. All the ads in the world can’t add a touch of warmth to Willard. There is simply no there there.

      • 83 Debz
        June 3, 2012 at 12:28 pm

Willard has done absolutely nothing to try to make himself more likable. Any time I see him, he is attacking POTUS. That gets old quickly. Everyone knows that POTUS and FLOTUS are good people who are very likable.

  21. June 3, 2012 at 11:13 am

If you can contribute some time to help GOTV, the WI phonebank scripts are open:

    • June 3, 2012 at 11:19 am

Then, while smiling, said the National Democratic Party is not on the Ground in Wisconsin. That is a lie!!!

    • 88 57andfemale
      June 3, 2012 at 12:20 pm

Jovie, I do not know what MHP believes. And that is sad.

What part of Romney is NOT extreme enough for her to call him out for what he is instead of giving him cover?

I will say what I say almost every weekend: this is not 10 people in an intellectual exercise in a classroom in an ivy-colored building. She has an audience. What happens in this election is not some game. This is real life, with consequences virtually unimaginable in American governance. If a smart woman like MHP doesn’t see that, then she is not so smart after all. And she is reckless, using her pulpit. Shame on her.

Substantive discussions on policy — fine. I do believe that there is room to discuss tactics, strategy and policy that we don’t agree with the President on . We can so do and still completely support him. We can do that without inflicting damage on his Presidency. Imagine sitting at a coffee shop with PBO and being able to ask him questions about his choices, and have an honest, forthright exchange of ideas.

But to push the meme that Romney is really a moderate at heart (because that it is the subtext of some of her comments) — there isn’t even evidence that that is true. Name one position he has taken in the last year that comes close to showing (a) that he’s moderate in any way; (b) that he would work as an honest broker between diverse views and show the respect of Democrats who will undoubtedly win millions of votes; or (c) that he has any interest whatsoever in standing up to those who put him in office or challenging power to fight for moderate solutions. None.

If MHP doesn’t know that, then I don’t know how she got the academic credentials she has. I’ve lost respect for her.

{{{{{Heavy sigh}}}}}}}}} I just got off the phone with my dad in FL. He tells me that he’s not paying much attention now to politics (I can’t imagine)..but he asked me if my son found a summer job yet. I said, “No, not yet.” He says, “Well, things aren’t going as well as they thought on the job front.” That freaking sent me over the edge!

I said, “Seriously, Dad??? Since when are job GAINS a bad thing? I bet if you asked one of those 69,000 people if they’re happy to get back to work last month, they’d be jumping for joy and telling you life was good! Since when do we get to ignore them all as important ENOUGH to count? If we didn’t have an entire party willing to put the country at risk because they want the President to fail…rather than approve infrastructure projects, broadband projects etc…then maybe we wouldn’t be seeing this right now!”

He shut up SO fast!!! He mumbled something like “Yeah, well….” and then he changed the subject. I’ll tell you what, I’m making up a PACKET for that man before Nov! I love my dad dearly, but he needs some serious intervention:) I’m JUST the one to give it to him:) My husband laughs…says my dad tried to pick an argument with the wrong person….True that!!

Good Morning DF and TOD Family. I was just reading your comments and you made me smile. You are such a joy , DF. Your fight and sweetness comes together like, “Do Not Mess With Me.” I love it. How are things? Good to hear about hubby’s job. That is part of what we were asking for, right? I hope so.

All is well here. Tired, but a good tired. Working with a group informing our neighborhood of the importance of the Nov. Election. Some good conversations. A lot of new ones coming into the group. Fired up. The heat gets to me, so I am going to rest today, and get back at it on Tues. Wed. and Thurs. Keep me in your thoughts. It is really helpful to get the courage to take to the streets within my own community. A lot of GOPers here, but they do not know the facts. However, I am trying very hard to be patient.

Love you all, and everyone, please have a Great Sunday. ((((((((((((((((((( Love you, Chips, and thank you))))))))))))))))) HZ

{{{{{HZ}}}}} I ALWAYS keep you in my thoughts, as do so many other TOD’ers here! Our Zen angel.

Well, thank you for the compliment…passion is my middle name. When we have facts on our side, and you are right in your convictions, well, that’s all I need. “Do Not Mess With Me” comes from that place inside. All of us here have that place…that’s why we all do what we do. Since our passion is real, our goal is truth, and our mission is pure….we can’t lose. 2008 on steroids! I’m ready!

Have you seen that Fred has peeked in to say hello? He’s tired and coming around as well…just pace yourself, HZ. We do worry that you’ll do TOO much. We do what we can, one person at a time. The heat gets to me, too. Sucks the life right out of me…that’s why the siesta in the afternoon…then I feel like a new woman again! Oh, and the gin and tonic:) Be well, and know you are loved here:)

I will pace myself. This one deep vein in the back of my leg is raising its’ ugly head again, so legs up with bed rest. Great church sermon and music today which lifted my inner spirit and fed the soul. So I will rest a little this afternoon, and maybe read a little since I have 8 books that I am in and out plus FLOTUS’s book is coming and one other in the mail.

I try to immerse myself in the Pomp and Circumstance of our President’s Office and re-read some of the books that keep me grounded about what he is trying to accomplish, so it lifts my spirits very much. It helps to lift up the spirit of why and who we are fighting for in this election, and it gives me personally hope, love, respect, compassion, passion, and how President Obama is not just being a POTUS, but he is going to make his mark on this presidency and it is going to make him a Great President of these United States. So we will hold fast to our truth, passion, and mission as you so beautifully put it DF. I love you back so very much.

I did see Fred comment a few minutes ago, and I want to say hello as well. You all are in my prayers and my meditation. Let our collective wonderful, calm and beautiful spirits come together to continue to love, and respect our POTUS, and we Will make it. ((((((( Love you DF.))))))

Oh, I do have some smooth and sweet red wine going on for the heart. Plus, my adopted son bought mom some nice sweet white wine as well. Dr. gave permission for the reds only, but a little white will not hurt. Take care dear one, and know that your family is always in my quiet time and loud time. (((((( Love coming to the desert))))))HZ

    good morning TOD family

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am feeling better and have for the past few days.Fingers cross it continues but I am still very fatigued and my back has been killing me.

These past few days have been trying due to the economic news and we must NOT be discouraged.Economic sabotage is taking place and NO amount of Birth Control and Transvaginal Bills have and will create one bloody job in this country 🙄

I’ve been talking to a guy who has worked in Advertising and a staunched Obama supporter and we talked about Austerity taking place in Europe and the # of Gvt jobs lost in this country and the GOP railing about “big Gvt” and got together with a group of people who are also in advertising and we came up with this as OUR Talking Points and if anyone thinks they are good, let me know and if you guys feel that the DNC can/should use them, tweet them to Cutter,Axelrod or anyone :

    1-NO To Tea Party Constitution

    2-NO To Tea Party Austerity

    3-NO To Legislative Sabotage’

4-Romney Was NOT And NEVER was about job creation but it was about making profit for HIMSELF and his corporate buddies

5-Time for the DNC to start referring to Mitch Daniels as GWB’s Former budget director who oversaw an economy that went from a surplus to a deficit instead of Indiana Gvt under his guard

I hope everyone is doing well.I’ll go chop some berries and I’ll be back with your answers

Morning, Fred:) SO good to hear that you are feeling better and better! Slow and steady gets it done….the word “sabotage” DEFINATELY should be used! Love #4..(truth…which is precisely why the GOP HATES it) LOVE #5….let’s refresh some memories. Anytime we can tie a Bushie to the Romulan is a good thing, and that should be easy since Romulan has hired Bush’s ENTIRE TEAM. Let’s compare and contrast….all in all, good stuff! More ideas from the ad guys, please!

Hi Fred!!! Hi Fred!!!!! ((((((( Missed you)))))))) However, DF gave me a heads up that you have been here or were here today. So happy and joyful to see you here. I have been away a few days, but still missing my babies here at TOD. I feel so connected when I am right here, but Chips give me so much within our beautiful TOD family to hold onto. I am so grateful for each of you.

I am also keeping you in my prayers and meditation for your healing as it makes an entrance into your space. Keep quiet when you need to and can be. Keep your spirit filled with beautiful moments and always surround yourself with the things that give you much joy, much peace, and much beauty. I love flowers a lot, but sometimes I am not able to get out to water the flowers on the patio so some go on to plant heaven, and my money goes to well, you know. So I purchased a few tropical ones to place in different rooms that will not require me to water too much, plus I can see the beauty immediately. So surround yourself with restful things.

Why just look at these fabulous job creators! http://brilliantatbreakfast.blogspot.com.br/2012/05/everything-thats-wrong-with-corporatism.html

27,000 people. 8% of Hewlett-Packard’s workforce. That’s just less than one in every twelve employees who will be offered an early retirement “package”, which will boot probably yet more over-50’s out of the workforce and into permanent poverty, or will be let go entirely. According to PRI’s Marketplace program this evening, most of these cuts will be in the US.

And we’re supposed to believe that NOT ONE of these 27,000 people can possibly be trained to do the jobs in the areas of strategic focus? Seriously? Note what happened today: HP beat Wall Street’s expectations, and are STILL jettisoning 27,000 jobs. HP is supposed to be one of the “job creators”, isn’t it? Don’t “Rich People Create Jobs”? Let’s look at some of the “rich people” who have run HP, shall we?

have people been pointing out that hewlett-packard is now run by fellow mormon, mittbot supporter, and republican gadfly meg whitman, and that she and all modern-day republicans are craven enough to do anything they can to win an election, even it if means hurting 27,000 people and their families? no doubt in my mind that whitman would do something like this to try to score political points. it’s justified according to her church anyway…

this is a woman who spent approx $170 million, over $144 million of her own money(!!!!) to try to by herself the california governorship, and still got clobbered by jerry brown!! let’s compare her “return on investment” to barack obama’s r.o.i. on his campaign, who won in an improbable landslide and ended with tens of millions left in the bank. PBO does everything better than these evil idiots. i hope he starts a hedge fund when he’s done, and he’ll kick their butts doing that too, and buy a bunch of them out. would be hilarious.

Good day TODers. Long time no post. Have just come off the best staycation. Both my girls (well young ladies really) were here at the same time for the first time in quite a few years. One turned 21 during the visit and we all just had a blast.

My normally stressful, fast paced job had reached a feverish pitch in both stress and pace, so I was desparately in need of the time away. And I couldn’t have asked for a better time. They were here over the Memorial Day weekend also which was great because there were lots of dinner parties, barbeques and lots of board game playing. I love board games.

I can’t believe they still like to play board games. One even brought some with her. It was the most relaxing time I’ve had in ages and now I am having a lazy rainy sunday just enjoying the quiet and all the great new memories. It’s back to work tomorrow! I guess I’m ready.

I have tried logging on on more than one occassion but never got further than the headlines, so I have missed way too much and there’s no hope of catching up. Guess I’ll go try out the WI dashboard and see about calling some recall voters. Later….

Moore was touting Barrett’s chances to some Capitol Hill staffers just off the House floor when The Hill approached her.

“Girl, we’re gonna win,” she told one. “I know that the polls look bad but the thing of it is those polls are … African Americans are only six percent of the population. They aren’t counting on us. They’re counting on the split between the majority folks. I’m telling you, it’s all going to happen.”

You mean, the polls are not counting the AA vote in Wisconsin? I knew it!

Last Friday, the Labor Department announced that the US economy had created 69,000 jobs in May. That’s 58,000 more jobs than George W. Bush’s monthly average of creating 11,000 jobs a month, according to economist Justin Wolfers who claims he did something called “math.”

But the GOP reacted as if President had just taken Clinton’s booming economy and surplus and turned into a steaming mess of debt and joblessness in one month.

Mitt Romney went on CNBC—his first non-Fox News interview in months—and danced on the faces of the unemployed. His one idea to improve the economy? Elect him President so he can double-down on all of George W. Bush’s worst policies.

It’s like saying “Only someone who follows Ike Turner’s principles can reverse this domestic abuse crisis.”

A rational defense, as laid out by Jamelle Bouie, should work:

“Not only is your party responsible for the economic crisis, but when President Obama tried to contain the damage, you moved to obstruct him at every possible opportunity.”

Morning TOD. If you do anything today, you have got to watch Stephanie Cutter’s appearance on This Week on ABC. OMG. OMG!!!! She eviscerated Romney’s spokesperson Eric Ferhnstrom. When I say eviscerated, I mean EVISCERATED. She made him look like a fool. She and Paul Krugman – Krugman was sometimes blah but I do have to give him credit on some fantastic points he made about PBO and pointing out Romney’s lies – used FACTS to decimate Romney and Fehrnstrom. Holy smokes. She pointed out the ridiculousness of Romney supporting the Ryan budget while at the same time touting fiscal responsibility. Krugman pointed out that economically, Ryan’s budget would sink the country and plunge us into an even steeper recession. Cutter lambasted Romney for giving Pres. Obama an “F” on foreign policy. While she was talking about Romney’s foreign policy “expertise” she cracked up because his so called expertise is just laughable. She pointed out that PBO ended the war in Iraq responsibly, got OBL, is on track to end the war in Afghanistan, helped to liberate Libya without one American soldier dying etc. She pointed out the ridiculousness of Romney saying Russia is our number one geopolitical foe.

Fehrnstrom tried to justify MA going from 37th to 47th in job creation under Romney as a good thing. Cutter shut him up by pointing out that under PBO we’ve had 27 months of job creation, 4.3 M jobs have been created, under 40 months of Romney, MA gained a paltry 4000 jobs, but under 19 months of Pres. Obama, MA gained over 21K jobs. She also pointed out the frustrating GOP obstruction regarding the American Jobs Act which independent analysts have said would help create and additional 1 million jobs. Fehrnstrom tried to make Solyndra an issue and once again Cutter and Krugman pointed out that the funds for Solyndra came from the Bush Admin. and was supported by the likes of Mitch McConnell and other republicans, so if he wanted to spread blame, then the GOP deserves a lion share of the blame. Cutter also pointed out how detrimental Romney would be for women. He wants to eliminate Planned Parenthood, he supports overturning Roe v. Wade, He wants to defund organizations that provide healthcare to women.

If Fehrnstrom is the best Romney can do, then hahahahahahahahahahahaha. He was pathetic. Just pathetic. Stephanie Cutter was on fire! She was a one woman juggernaut of facts. She did not take any crap from Fehrnstrom and George Will.

Kasim Reed, Mayor of Atlanta was also AMAZING on Meet The Press. He lambasted Romney’s cowardice in not standing up to Trump, Limbaugh, and Nugent. He eviscerated Romney’s record at Bain and as Gov. of MA, he said Romney was GWB 2.0 and America cannot and must not accept that disastrous course again. Over and over again he touted PBO’s record of accomplishments. It was breathtakingly wonderful. As a political junkie, this was good TV. It was brilliant.

Memo to the GOP: You piss off the Obama 2012 team with lies, they’ll get on all the Sunday shows and rip your collective jugulars off!

“Fehrnstrom tried to justify MA going from 37th to 47th in job creation under Romney as a good thing”

Since when has creating only 4000 jobs in almost 4 years and lagging behind other states with a paltry .9% job growth while falling ten places down in the rankings been a good thing?

Romney is a job destroyer. Team Obama is going to make that loud and clear.

ATLANTA — Georgia’s leaders are hoping to capitalize on the state’s nascent manufacturing industry for wind power when 200 international wind energy exhibitors come to Atlanta next week.

The state already is home to more than a dozen companies that make components that either go into wind turbines or that assist in building them. Such development has been a way for Georgia and the Southeast to capitalize on the wind energy industry even though the state lacks a steady wind needed for the giant turbines to spin constantly and create electricity.

“It’s … to have some visibility in the industry and to let those industry players know that this is an industry that’s important to Georgia, that it is on our radar screen, and it’s one of our targeted industries,” said Tom Croteau, director of the Economic Development Department’s food, energy, logistics and agribusiness projects division.

Georgia is also important to the industry because of the Port of Savannah. Nearly $200 million worth of wind-related products moved through the port last year, Denise Bode, chief executive of the American Wind Energy Association, said in a recent interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“You are critical because of your transportation hub,” she said.
