FANTASTIC! I read the article on that poll. It wasn’t even supposed to be a military poll. It was a daily tracking poll and of the 45,000 plus they polled, a little under 8K were veterans. So they just looked at that number – no mention of the political leanings of that 8K – and BAM! Romney leads by 24? Yeah, Ok.

The problem isn’t necessary GOPolitico, it’s the other media who takes what Politico says and eats up up. They will never talk about a poll which favor the President, but this piece of trash which came out today, is all they will talk about. And I have no more faith in Gallup than I do GOPolitico.

It’s like the media knows Mitt Romney isn’t worth sh*t, so they are doing all they can to prop him up. They cover for Romney lies, they push these phony polls, when Mitt hang around bastards like Donald trump, Ted nugent, no big deal, but the media would rip POTUS to pieces if he hang around some creep like Trump and nugent.

TODville I’m going to bed after spending most of the day on Twitter but I wanted to share this with you.

For some reason today felt really calm to me, even though I saw a fair amount of snark on ‘The twitter’. Uppermost in MY mind was a resolve to not let any negativity get to me, or to not spew out any that might have been inside me. Hence I played a little ‘game’ with myself to try and respond with calm and positive info whenever I responded. When I couldn’t find a good response inside me I ignored the original comment that triggered the angst. Truthfully, I had ‘fun’ with my little game and was able to avoid the negativity that sometimes bogs down my Time Line

Off to bed I go! Wonder if the tucker in chief would be willing to help another tuckee? 😉 G’night, sleep tight!

Your new-found philosophy is a good challenge. I’m going to try it, too! Get into a zen mode. It will probably help all of us over the next few months, along with ChristiMTL’s strategy of mocking the media.

        May 29, 2012 at 7:06 am

Yeah! I waited for him with one eye open but he never showed up. 😉

I too like Christi’s strategy with a touch of Betsy’s, shared sometime ago –

“@markknoller Thanks for letting us know that PBO got some fresh air and exercise. It’s how he keeps his trim shape.”

We know they are playing a game with something that isn’t a game – our lives- so why let them wind us up whenever they feel like it? So I intend to try to poke fun seriously and without too much bitterness. Who knows, if we can keep this up, more of us will feel in better control as we fight back?

        Enjoy your Tuesday!

ps. Anyone else I owe an answer I’ll respond to later. If I write one more word after this I’ll be late for work and they’d frown highly on that! 😆

” While honoring the sacrifices of the fallen, President Obama took the time to make it specifically clear that he will never subscribed to the Bush Doctrine of endless unjustified war.”

The ads questioning Governor Walker’s role in the John Doe investigation clearly are affecting his standing among voters AND the trial heat. For example, Barrett now leads by six points on being honest and trustworthy (Barrett was TRAILING by three points two weeks ago) and he leads by five points on caring for people (after being tied two weeks ago). Among Wisconsinites who are familiar with the John Doe situation, the race is a flat-out dead heat.

While the earned and paid media campaigns are tremendously effective (and represent a major factor in the Mayor’s improved showing), the race will be decided by turnout. And on this score, our poll results again provide encouraging news for the Barrett campaign: among voters who say they are 100% certain to vote on June 5, the race is tied at 49% apiece. And Mayor Barrett has a solid lead among non-2010 voters.

One question just keeps coming back to me. These people worked extraordinarily hard to get millions of signatures for this recall election. Scott Walker hasn’t changed his ways. Why would people change their minds about him?

    • 61 theo67
      May 29, 2012 at 12:12 am

Good question. I can’t believe that people would rate Walker as more honest and trustworthy, when we keep hearing that people voted for him because he lied about what he would do in office. The next ten days should be very interesting.

Yup. I’m holding my breath over this recall. So much at stake, but so many people who seem to be uninformed, or who are planning to make their decision based on whether President Obama takes a break from running the country/world to come and hold their hands at the election booth. MIRANSHAH: Twelve people were killed and five others injured in two separate US drone attacks in Mir Ali and Dattakhel areas of the North Waziristan tribal region on Monday, tribal sources said.
Sources said the drones carried out the first attack in Hassukhel village of Mir Ali subdivision and targeted a house. Villagers said the drones fired 10 missiles and killed seven people. “The drone first fired two missiles at the house and killed four people and injured five others. Those living in an adjacent house panicked after the missile strikes and started fleeing towards the nearby fields. The drones then started firing missiles at them and targeted everyone running in the fields,” a local tribesman told The News from Hassukhel village, located about 25 kilometers east of Miranshah, the headquarters of North Waziristan.
He said the house was located close to the mosque which had been attacked by a drone last week, killing 10 worshipers. The tribesman said bodies of the slain men were later retrieved but were mutilated beyond recognition.
The injured were shifted to the main hospital in Mir Ali area where they were stated to be in critical condition.Government officials based in the area said that 10 US spy planes took part in the attack in Mir Ali. “I have not seen drones in such a large number in the past during one attack. Mostly two or four spy planes take part in the attack here,” the official said. Later in the night, five more people were killed when a pilotless plane fired two missiles at a car and a house in Deegan village of Dattakhel area.
Villagers in Deegan said five men traveling in the car were killed in the attack. “Their bodies were unrecognizsable. Only body pieces of the slain men were retrieved and put in plastic bags for burial,” a villager told The News from Deegan on phone. He said a nearby house was also damaged in the attack, but its inmates remained safe.

Thank you for all your good work, Chips! Excellent media. We are the ones we have been waiting for. We are the alternative media that tells the truth to the American people.

  44. May 29, 2012 at 5:11 am

There are those who tell the truth. There are those who distort the truth. And then there’s Mitt Romney.

Every political campaign exaggerates and dissembles. This practice may not be admirable — it’s surely one reason so many Americans are disenchanted with politics — but it’s something we’ve all come to expect. Candidates claim the right to make any boast or accusation as long as there’s a kernel of veracity in there somewhere.

Even by this lax standard, Romney too often fails. Not to put too fine a point on it, he lies. Quite a bit.

“Since President Obama assumed office three years ago, federal spending has accelerated at a pace without precedent in recent history,” Romney claims on his campaign Web site. This is utterly false. The truth is that spending has slowed markedly under Obama.

  45. May 29, 2012 at 5:22 am

    Yup! High value target alright—

KABUL, Afghanistan — The U.S.-led NATO force in Afghanistan killed al-Qaeda’s second highest leader in the country in an airstrike in eastern Kunar province, the coalition said Tuesday.

Sakhr al-Taifi, also known as Mushtaq and Nasim, was responsible for commanding foreign insurgents in Afghanistan and directing attacks against NATO and Afghan forces, the alliance said. He frequently traveled between Afghanistan and Pakistan, carrying out commands from senior al-Qaeda leadership and ferrying in weapons and fighters.

The airstrike that killed al-Taifi and another al-Qaeda militant took place Sunday in Kunar’s Watahpur district, the coalition said. A follow-on assessment of the area determined that no civilians were harmed, it said.

The U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan was carried out because al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden used the country as his base to plan the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in New York and Washington.

Most of al-Qaeda’s senior leaders are now believed to be based in Pakistan, where they fled following the U.S. invasion. The terrorist organization is believed to have only a nominal presence in Afghanistan.

Many senior al-Qaeda commanders have died in U.S. drone attacks in Pakistan, and bin Laden was killed by U.S. commandos in the Pakistani town of Abbottabad last May.

The Walker money machine is taking its toll. It’s been going on for a year and half.

There is an ‘enthusiasm gap’ for our side, allegedly. However, Republicans are easily motivated to crush the other guy; our side has to ‘fall in love’.

Our one hope: the polls greatly underestimated Democratic support, particularly for Barrett before the primaries One of the odious polls a week or so ago used a general election model and I believe that’s been true all along. But if Barrett is sounding defeated, that’s not good. Internal polling is what counts.

      It’s all about turnout.

    MORNING Chips & TODville!

I’m pushing my nose in early to assure you that you won’t be seeing my face today as I’m off to work. Unfortunately I won’t be close enough to come home for lunch and the usual spying-on-you gig, so as Ms Chips would say, “Be good!”. 😉

Welcome back to all who took the Memorial Weekend off!

    Tuesday Love to ALL! VC

Pamela, thinking of you – are you back safely? Keep an eye on things too!

Dudette, no drinking or partying, but have yourself a great day anyway!

Everybody else, look sharp and have a beautiful, Tuesday! See you all later. 😆 😆

Morn Joke is really “concerned” about these killing cards that PBO has——choosing who to kill today—–what?—–who in the media did Obama call to tell about this? Who in the CIA is calling the media to talk about this? What a joke! Tina Brown is really disappointed with Obama about this and Guantanamo, she’s shaking her head sadly. Joke is talking real mournfully too. They’re all really sad about something they know nothing——zero—-about.

There is no one in the MSM who thinks of themselves as an expert on so many subjects as Morning Joe. Now he is an expert on the European economy.

well, each time the gop rightwingers insert themselves in and criticize PBO’s foreign policy, they almost immediately get egg on their face.

I wonder if those who are pushing for the US to attack Iran with bombs have read this story which is a hot one on the web:

Meet ‘Flame’, The Massive Spy Malware Infiltrating Iranian Computers

    By Kim Zetter
    May 28, 2012 | 9:00 am

A massive, highly sophisticated piece of malware has been newly found infecting systems in Iran and elsewhere and is believed to be part of a well-coordinated, ongoing, state-run cyberespionage operation.

The malware, discovered by Russia-based anti-virus firm Kaspersky Lab, is an espionage toolkit that has been infecting targeted systems in Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, the Israeli Occupied Territories and other countries in the Middle East and North Africa for at least two years.

Dubbed “Flame” by Kaspersky, the malicious code dwarfs Stuxnet in size – the groundbreaking infrastructure-sabotaging malware that is believed to have wreaked havoc on Iran’s nuclear program in 2009 and 2010. Although Flame has both a different purpose and composition than Stuxnet, and appears to have been written by different programmers, its complexity, the geographic scope of its infections and its behavior indicate strongly that a nation-state is behind Flame, rather than common cyber-criminals — marking it as yet another tool in the growing arsenal of cyberweaponry.

The researchers say that Flame may be part of a parallel project created by contractors who were hired by the same nation-state team that was behind Stuxnet and its sister malware, DuQu.

“Stuxnet and Duqu belonged to a single chain of attacks, which raised cyberwar-related concerns worldwide,” said Eugene Kaspersky, CEO and co-founder of Kaspersky Lab, in a statement. “The Flame malware looks to be another phase in this war, and it’s important to understand that such cyber weapons can easily be used against any country.”

Early analysis of Flame by the Lab indicates that it’s designed primarily to spy on the users of infected computers and steal data from them, including documents, recorded conversations and keystrokes. It also opens a backdoor to infected systems to allow the attackers to tweak the toolkit and add new functionality.

Kaspersky Lab is calling it “one of the most complex threats ever discovered.”

“It’s pretty fantastic and incredible in complexity,” said Alexander Gostev, chief security expert at Kaspersky Lab.

Good Morning TOD folks, I bought the First Ladies Garden Book just now at Amazon. The NYT has an article on it & I read the long article about the president targeting terrorists. Interesting morning so far.

I’m going to see if I can get the First lady Garden Book also, plus I am still looking for the People magazine issue with their interview with FLOTUS. I’ll find it, you can count on that.

Good morning Chips, good morning all. Chips, I think more videos like this one are needed, especially to fight back the Mitt lies. If we can target a specific issue like his taxes, a lie that he keeps using without push back from the MSM, and dedicate ourselves to make it go viral, and push shows like ed, lawrence, rev al or maddow to play it, we would have done MSM jobs for them.

Given that MSM won’t do its job, we need to do something to bypass them, just like PBO does when he takes his message to the people. Voter suppression is another hot issue that not one network news anchor has dedicated any time to.

Just my two cents. Have a great day everyone.

There’s only one thing missing, and maybe its been mentioned here, but the margin in that poll an approximately 24 point spread in the Gallup poll is almost IDENTICAL to the margin John McCain won veterans over during the 2008 election. That margin made sense, because McCain is beloved by that demographic. But a margin like that for Romney makes NO SENSE at all and I doubt it very seriously–unless they are only interviewing veterans in the 65+ and above age group. Pres. Obama won’t win very many of those bitter old school votes anyway. Many of them are still smarting over either the civil rights revolution or the civil war and contemplating that the south will rise again.
