I am off today so I spent part of the morning watching Bill Press. There is a woman from Politico that was on. I swear she is the one that sits behind Romney during his campaign stops. She is AA with Glasses. I know I have seen her at his town halls. Maybe she is just there reporting.

For someone who reminds his audience that he wrote a book called The Obama Hate Machine, he sure manages to have enough ‘reporters’ who have a smarmy attitude toward PBO. I, for one, don’t need this stinkin’ ‘balance’. PBO bashing is rampant everywhere else on the news and we don’t need it on progressive media.

Hey, if there is a substantive discussion on how and when to withdraw from Afghanistan or differing opinions from health care policy experts, I think those are conversations worth having. But those barely veiled attacks and insults meant to minimize our President’s accomplishments and otherwise demean him — we don’t need that shit on progressive media. Press considers himself one of the ‘reporters’ and surrounds himself with that media beltway crowd.

Good morning everyone. Raining cats and dogs and horses in New York. That bespactacled AA woman is the token. Trust me she is being paid big money. If he needs another token I am available. Would take his money and send it to the Obama’s campaign. But first I’d have to think of a disguise. I’d be too ashmamed to have folks see me sitting there.

Oregonian, hanging out in the Swiss Boonies (should go searching for Mitt’s accts just like amk and his search for the “certificate.”). I have been lurking here for a long time. Every day my husband asks, “so have you joined the ladies on the naughty mat.” He made fun of me for all the antics here but the other day I grabbed his iPad to check something and what was open the TOD site.

But nothing he said mattered as much as these words: “The Afghan war, as we understand, it is over” with the withdrawal of ground forces at the end of 2014, he told journalists.

“Combat will end at the stroke of midnight,” on Dec. 31, 2014, added retired Gen. Douglas Lute, Obama’s deputy national security adviser — when a reporter asked whether the president had meant it.

Good Morning TOD Family, hello Pamela. You are so right, it is so much fun to visit this wonderful place as often as I can to feel the love, friendship and deep determination as Comrades-in-Arms for this wonderful man President Barack Obama to be re-elected in November.
For me personally i felt part of the family but was unsure if I could really add anything other than words to this campaign, this time around. I felt that in whatever way I can participate as a foreigner I must do so, I felt compelled to “delurk” and let you all know that there are voices calling out silently to you in support from my little Island, encouraging you in your fight for this once in a lifetime individual. I personally feel that he belongs to the World, and i think when he is on the World stage you can clearly see that that is so.

              Have a great day everyone.

    Turns out that Cory Booker is not quite the Superman that we thought, but as many have said it doesn’t discount the good stuff that he has done or said. I did find it ironic that in the same MTP interview, Cory was plenty gracious towards the NJ Governor;

“On Christie, Booker artfully dodged a direct question from Gregory on the governor’s potential national ambitions and qualifications.

“Is he qualified to be president?” he asked Booker of Christie in an earlier segment of the roundtable.

“I’ll say this, he’s as qualified — if not more — than all the other names I’m hearing being mentioned,” Booker said.
    http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2012/05/booker_criticizes_obama_campai.html

At this point, I will continue to admire Booker for his laudable stances but Superman has lost his cape and Booker looks more like an ordinary, ambitious politician to me.

I wonder if what his buddy Chris Christie said about the President this weekend is nauseating to him?

“He is the most ill-prepared person to assume the presidency in my lifetime,” Christie told some 600 Kentucky Republicans at a Lexington hotel. “This is a guy who literally is walking around in a dark room trying to find the light switch of leadership.”

      Yea,….great potential….attack attack attack…..lies….

      THAT is nauseating….

      Not an ad about Bain.

      • May 21, 2012 at 8:45 am

That’s what I also say. He’s too close to Christie for my comfort. As I posted before, there are some dems in NJ who cozy up to Christie. In my book they are traitors because they are not doing it for the people but for their own political power.

        • May 21, 2012 at 8:46 am

This comment is out of order and refers to Christie and Booker not the president’s accomplishments.

So a guy who’s been serving less than two years as governor thinks he knows more about leadership than the president of the U.S. Guess the stuff that bloats him is hot air. Here’s Christie’s idea of leadership: yell, insult people, start wars, slap down anyone who disagrees with you. The president handles himself with grace and supreme intelligence so to a loudmouth bully like Christie he’s not a leader. And Cory Booker thinks he’s qualified to be president? Tells you all you need to know about CB’s lack of intelligence and need to pander.

Well we have to know who are friends are, and Cory Booker showed he wasn’t a friend of the Obama campaign. And as for that thing which is Governor of New Jersey, he is just a fat ass bully, but Booker thinks he’s qualified to be President. Says alot about our so call friend Cory Booker, doesn’t it.

If that foolish statement was even remotely accurate, PBO would not have been elected in the first place. I see this as self- descriptive, for who better demonstrates walking around in a dark room (mentally) than someone who would say this out loud? Yadda, yadda, yadda, STFU, mr. Big man.

A FACT-FILLED ad about Bain, to be clear.

And it wasn’t an attack on private capital, it was an attack on (are you listening, Chris Christie?) the most ill-prepared man running for the Presidency saying that the way private capitalists run their business is the model for for how to fix a national economy.

But by all means, let’s be pure and STFU.

Asshole. Go grow up, Cory Booker.

That’s exactly what he is, Edwina. He’s an ordinary, ambitious politician who put his own ego ahead of his loyalty to his party and the president. He chose to lie down with the dogs and the fleas will never wash off of him. No matter how much CB tries framing his actions in lofty language, but the deed is done, the damage not recoverable. If he thinks his new BFF, Christie won’t use him up and spit him out, he’s more naive than I thought he was.

How about if we grab this as our opportunity to educate our friends and voters as to WHY we were upset?

Please do this by sharing the video that Chips highlights above. It presents a better testimony of ordinary people saying what most of us cannot specifically say which is they are the direct victims of mitt the bullying liar and his attack on th middle class for personal benefit..

so please spread the word under the comment: this is WHY is Mitt the bullying liar’s time at Bain nauseating

I hate the fact that Cory Booker made him self the punch line.. But I have been reading he gets a lot of financial assistance from Wall Street which to me makes him a sell-out to his constituents.

What makes me sick to my stomach is a rich dude who bankrupted companies and had taxpayers pick-up the tab for their pensions… What makes me sick to my stomach is Cory Booker’s attak on the workers who have the right to speak up and often about the abuse they faced at the hands of Bain Capital.

Cory Booker are you drunk from all the attention you have received? Maybe you should keep away from the clown Governor in your state because he’s making you look like a chump..

What makes me sick, Michele, is someone who does something underhanded and rotten to placate his Wall Street backers and then acts all noble about it, as if he were simply practicing a higher morality. That’s the most ‘nauseating’ part of it and shows him to be a freaking hypocrite.

Since I live on the North Side and not downtown Chicago I can’t complain about anything when it comes down to the Nato Summit. We’ve seen a lot of protesters take the Red Line (train) heading downtown
Had a wonderful weekend with mom who was off and took her to dinner and we saw the Avengers.I recommend it,very funny movie too surprisingly 😀
I saw Cory Booker yesterday and I keep thinking about one thing and for anyone who remembers this show here in the US: The Mole
I can’t help but doubt him now and don’t see myself ever trusting him again. Can anyone check to see how much $ he is taking and whom is he taking that $ from?
If I could suggest one thing to the Obama campaign and that is to check those “surrogates” thoroughly to make sure that they are loyal from now until November
Anyway I hope everyone is doing well.
    Take good care everyone

Factories begin to shift back to US

Two-thirds of big US manufacturers have moved factories in the past two years, with the most popular destination being the US, according to a survey being released on Monday by Accenture, the consultants.

The report provides some of the first industry-wide empirical evidence of “reshoring,” the trend of jobs once outsourced to low-cost emerging economies being brought back to the US.

    [snip]

Some 65 per cent of the senior executives questioned by Accenture said they had moved their manufacturing operations in the past 24 months, with two-fifths saying the facilities had been relocated to the US. China was the second destination for relocated factories, with 28 per cent, followed by Mexico with 21 per cent.
Rich Bergmann, managing director of Accenture’s manufacturing practice, said the respondents cited freight and the speed of fulfilling orders as their main motivators for moving factories. The survey demonstrated that manufacturers are increasingly moving production closer to end-markets, he said.
“There is evidence here of reshoring because of transportation costs and lead times,” Mr Bergmann said. “The global supply chain allows you to chase lower cost of labour, but the total costs are reflected in the decision on where you produce for a given geography.”

The Bain ad above is terrific. Spread it far and wide. I hope the Obama team doubles down on these ads and keeps knocking them out so they reach every state. My favorite line”Romney doesn’t care about middle class or lower class people.” Should be stamped on Willard’s forehead. Should be the first and only thing people think of when they see or hear the guy. The woman who said he “looks” like he only cares about rich people was right on. Good piece.

On Romney’s speech at Liberty Univ:

First a little background: This was a speech given by a guy named Mitt Romney. You might have heard of him. He is this really wealthy, white dude from a very liberal state in our northeastern region. He has been trying to win the Presidency for some time and was recently given the chance to try.
Anyway, he was at this so-called university over the weekend to talk to their graduating class. While talking to them he said some stuff about marriage. Why, you ask? Well, you see in this country marriage is held in the highest regard, so much so that we need to be reminded of it from time to time. It is so beloved, in fact, that many of the candidates who were running for President have been married numerous times.

Robney read the polls and suddenly backs the Presidents Afghanistan plan.
That is not what he said, during the Primary!

Dharun Ravi’s sentencing is today for spying on Tyler Clementi. I am nervous and also conflicted because I want some consequences but not sure what would be just.

Of course everyone knew it was coming, but Yahoo’s top story when you open to check e-mail is Obama supporter calls Bain ads nauseating. For those few who still don’t get it at how big the knife was in the back of PBO. It was a huge betrayal.

I love my president, but I’ve got to say throwing either a football and baseball are so not his thing. He just looks so awkward with the throw, bless him.
