FLOTUS has beautifully tailored clothes and a sublime sense of style. This is rare as you can see from all the other wives at the reception. Every woman in the world, with the possible exception of runway models, has figure flaws. The other wives haven’t figured out how to wear clothes that disguise the flaws and flatter the figure. Michelle has. It’s just a fact.

Did Corey Booker turn on President Obama??? What happened? My heart can’t take that kind of defection. I will haz a real sad if that is the case:(

    • May 20, 2012 at 4:56 pm

Me thinks Booker is all about Himself. That is all!

    • May 20, 2012 at 4:57 pm

Is Bain incorporated in NJ? That’s what I’m thinking. Corey is doing his thing, whatever that is. I guess we have to sigh, and move on. Let’s hope the MSM will at least give us a little on the NATO and Camp David meetings, instead of the Corey story.

      • 45 jackiegrumbacher

Booker will now endure the loss of confidence and support from the president and the Obama team, not to mention a lot of Dem supporters. I hope the NJ Dems start recruiting elsewhere for a Gubernatorial candidate. Booker can’t be trusted. Period.

      • May 20, 2012 at 5:35 pm

Thanks for responding. While I waited, I went ahead and found articles about this. I agree with one tweet: This, by Booker, was like Judas’ betrayal of his friend. Who can we really trust? Corey just lost all my respect.

Obama: NATO shifting to help peace in Afghanistan

President Barack Obama, right, shakes hands with with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, left, during their meeting at the NATO Summit in Chicago, Sunday, May 20, 2012. Karzai thanked Americans for the help their ‘taxpayer money’ has done in Afghanistan.

    The headlines are great!

  26. May 20, 2012 at 5:01 pm

My take away so far of the NATO protests.
    1. what he said – “I’ve been asking: Why is everybody making such a big fuss? This isn’t as big as Taste of Chicago,” Obama said during a brief pooled press opportunity in his meeting with Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai.

    2. The cops didn’t fall for the old donut bait on the fishing line trick.

    3. The cops held hands to keep protesters in line.

    4. The cops chanted along with protesters, ‘police need healthcare too.’

I hope I’m not speaking too soon, but these ain’t your grandparent’s protesters of the sixties.

    • May 20, 2012 at 5:08 pm

      Some are terrorists!!!

      • May 20, 2012 at 5:50 pm

yep, and….nothing to see here….move along. Again, it’s still not over, but the terrorist have been caught, the snippets I’ve seen speak to a few knuckleheads. In general, this one doesn’t rise to the scale of the anticipated destruction. Hat tip to the CPD and all those responsible for keeping stuff livable.

    • 53 jackiegrumbacher
      May 20, 2012 at 5:08 pm

Honestly, I think these protestors are actually helping the president. He’s looking calm and moderate in the midst of hysterical protestors and that reinforces his image as a strong leader. Since the police are behaving reasonably, there will be little news except for protesting that seems silly to most people. The only thing this group wanted was over reaction by the police so they could look like martyrs and they’re not getting it.

Well, Lisa my dear, she probably doesn’t have ice cream before falling asleep. 😉 Of course, I can’t really talk because my exercise routines never seem to get practised longer than 2 – 3 weeks no matter how I ‘resolve’ beforehand! As soon as I start to feel like it’s working I reward myself with a day off, which happens more and more often until there is nothing to take a day off from. Frankly, I don’t see why we can’t just lose weight etc by using mind control. Isn’t the mind supposed to be such a powerful thing? 😀

  30. May 20, 2012 at 5:18 pm

It looks like Karzai told the President that he will not engage the Taliban, more directly. That tells me, that Karzai is nervous!
Their has to be some agreements and specifics that come out of this, otherwise, NATO looks like it’s ready to head for the Hills… Sadly!
Let’s hope Potus can get some agreements, out of this very important Meeting.

    re: Status Update on Booker:

it’s gotten nastier on twitter. Talk of ‘house n- word’, uncle tom, some guy told him to go F himself. Boy!!!!! No matter how calculated this was, it was dumb. If he thought he’d get away with going after PBO with no repercussions from the people, he was sadly mistaken. Or maybe he thought he was more popular and engendered more support than PBO so the blowback wouldn’t be huge. Big mistake. Big, big mistake. HUGE!!! And people aren’t stopping, every second there is a new negative tweet against Booker. They call him Crooker and Judas. They say he’s self-serving. They are even mocking him. People keep retweeting:
“Cory Booker ran into a burning building to save Mitt Romney”——- it’s real ugly and I can’t feel bad for him cause i truly believe he deserves it. They are calling him a “Betrayer” and basically said he’s the next Harold Ford Jr, Jr. Some are even calling him the Ricketts Man— you know, Ricketts wanted a “literate black man” to go after PBO to decrease cries of racism. —— Crooker really did it today. Some are even unfollowing him. So dumb.

        May 20, 2012 at 5:47 pm

Hilary Rosen apologized and is back on tv; Joe Biden apologized and then went golfing with PBO. Booker will issue a statement clarifying his remarks and we’ll be tallking about something else in a couple of days. What he said was terribly reckless, disappointing and sloppy but not worthy of same of the names he’s been called. It’s May 20th and there are 5.5 months to go until 11/6. So many things are gonna happen between now and election day that makes this look trivial in comparison. It’s maddeningly frustrating that so many on the left are so undisciplined and that PBO has to fight just as hard against them as the right. Will make his victory that much sweeter.

          May 20, 2012 at 6:03 pm

          May 20, 2012 at 6:06 pm

I don’t agree with name calling either but what he did is not the same as Hilary Rosen or VP. It’s completely different. For me, it’s betrayal….Mitt Romney runs on his record at Bain, so for him to say that the Bain’s ads are nauseating or the same as the Rev. Wright attacks ads is just plain disgusting.

No wonder the Republicans were thrilled today.

So 70% of the guests on the Sunday shows are Republicans and you have this so called democrats who stabbed PO in the back.

          No thanks..

He can say what the heck he wants after…..I don’t care, he’s not to be trusted.

          May 20, 2012 at 9:04 pm

Melanie, neither Hilary Rosen nor VP Biden attacked the President. They both made comments on issues that the media decided to run away with. Booker directly attacked the President’s criticism of Romney’s record on Bain Capital.

There’s plenty of documented evidence of what willard did to workers while working at bain and for booker to go on mtRepublicons and say POama’s campaign against bain is “nauseating”..well, that makes Booker one sick traitor.

Mayor Booker left his manners home, his respect in the wilderness, so let him wander for the next five months, and maybe he will wear out his shoes and be able to find a decent pair to put on the next time he speaks to the world concerning this decent president.

So people just need to wander in their wilderness that they have created themselves. So wander, Mr. Mayor, and we Will keep moving FORWARD to getting POB re-elected. And we are a forgiving family, so we might send you an invitation to the second Inauguration of President Barack Obama’s second term, yes, I said, Second Term.

Get some decent and respectful shoes, Mayor Booker, and reach back into your inner core and remember your “Good Manners “before you walk on to the world stage to speak.HZ

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — SpaceX expects to be ready to launch the first private spacecraft bound for the International Space Station early Tuesday, after its Falcon 9 rocket came within a split-second of blasting off Saturday morning.

Technicians planned to replace a faulty engine valve Saturday night that is believed responsible for prompting the abort of the first launch attempt with a half-second remaining in the countdown, after all nine first-stage engines had ignited.

Computers detected high pressure in one engine’s combustion chamber, triggering an automatic shutdown just before the planned 4:55 a.m. EDT liftoff.

  41. May 20, 2012 at 6:13 pm

Don Lemon’s reporting is severely lacking, as usual. It sounds like he’s trying so hard to stir up trouble, saying the cops are just pummeling the protesters, mischaracterizing what had just occurred for a couple minutes in some kind of standoff. Looks like these last gasp professional protesters and anarchists are just looking for confrontation to me, throwing buckets etc. at the cops, refusing to backoff or disband as their permit time has expired.

It’s sad but Cory Booker has revealed his character today. He worships wealth over work and is ingratiating himself with Wall St. and MSM over loyalty to his own Party, his President and is own supporters. This is what I tweeted today:

Too late. The damage is done. Now that I’ve learned more about him, his ties to ALEC and Koch with his buddy Chris CHristie, I’m moving on. No support from me. Sorry.

Fist bump, Chica! Chasing you is like chasing a butterfly! 😆 😆

Yes, it worked well enough to cause me to stumble and miss winning the race to the new post. I don’t know why it is, but all these obstacles and taunts you throw in my way just make me want to exert myself a little more. 😉 Wonder if it’s the same response Pres O has when ‘friends’ of his stick their feet out in his path? [Not that I’m comparing OUR friendly rivalry to that piece of Booker back stabbing!] 😉
