I don’t want to get too excited, but I am hoping we have finally reached a tipping point with Mitt Romney’s “LYING”. Notice the title of Greg Sargent’s post. He actually uses the “L” word. Mitt Romney continues to lie even when his lies have been debunked. It is long past due that the media do their job of educating and informing the public with the facts. It shouldn’t take a press release from OFA to document the lies from the Romney campaign. Isn’t that what journalists are supposed to do?? No wonder Mitt Romney is reluctant to do interviews and press conferences. Some enterprising reporter might ask him to explain why he is basing his entire campaign on falsehoods. Imagine that.

How Mitt Romney gets away with his lying

    By Greg Sargent

Yesterday, Mitt Romney gave a big speech in which he accused Obama of lighting a “prairie fire of debt.” It’s a good line, and it has received widespread media coverage.

Romney’s speech has already been dissected by Jonathan Chait and Steve Benen. They note that it’s entirely at odds with conventional understanding of how deficits work, and utterly disconnected from context, rendering it almost unquantifiably misleading.

But I wanted to make another point. If you scan through all the media attention Romney’s speech received, you are hard-pressed to find any news accounts that tell readers the following rather relevant points:

    1) Nonpartisan experts believe Romney’s plans would increase the deficit far more than Obama’s would.

    2) George W. Bush’s policies arguably are more responsible for increasing the deficit than Obama’s are.

How Mitt Romney gets away with lying. So Romney says it’s wrong to be a homosexual and want to get married, but he has no problem with being a liar. Remember Mitt the Bible says thou shall not lie.

Coming This Summer: For $24.95, George W. Bush Will Share His ‘Strategies For Economic Growth’

Former President George W. Bush jumped back into presidential politics this week, endorsing presumptive 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney. He also, according to the New York Times, plans to release a book in two months that will lay out his advice on boosting economic growth:

Gingerly, the 43rd president is beginning to add his voice back into the national dialogue. A month ago, he spoke publicly in favor of one of his defining domestic legacies, the tax cuts that still divide the country. Two months from now, he plans to publish a book outlining strategies for economic growth. And on Tuesday, he made a rare return to Washington to promote freedom overseas.

I know how to boost the economy, November 6th, first re-elected President Obama, and then get rid of as many of those House and Senate Republicans as we can get rid of.

Oh the irony. The guy who wrecked the U.S. economy wants to give us advice on how to make it better? Foh.

Ok this has to be a joke…..his advice on the economy?

One thing about the Republicans in general is that they have no shame…..they’re delusional as well…it’s like they live in a parallel universe.

In March 2002, the Boston Globe reported that Romney’s wife, Ann, his son Tagg, and Tagg’s wife, Jennifer, had all signed a petition supporting a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage and domestic partner benefits in Massachusetts. At the time, Massachusetts provided limited benefits to same-sex couples, and Romney’s campaign position had been that no changes to state law were needed. And so, he was forced to call the petition that his own family members had signed extreme.

“Mitt did not know they signed it, and Mitt does not support it,” Eric Fehrnstrom, Romney’s chief spokesman both then and now, said at the time. “As far as Mitt is concerned, it goes farther than current law, and therefore it’s unnecessary.”

Fehrnstrom did not immediately return a request for comment Wednesday as to whether he remembered the petition.

Lawmaker calls for peace talks between deceased Arafat, comatose Sharon
By Julian Pecquet – 05/15/12 03:26 PM ET

Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Pa.) is seeing his foreign policy credentials come under fire after calling for Middle East peace negotiations between deceased Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who has been in a coma since 2006.

Pitts’s remarks were included in a form letter his office sent to a constituent last month. His office blames a bureaucratic snafu, but Pitts’s Democratic opponent in the November election sees an opening.

“Being this completely out of touch with such a major foreign-policy matter is inexcusable,” Aryanna Strader wrote in an email to supporters, according to the web site PoliticsPA. “If we are ever going to change Congress, we must change who we send there.

You’re right, LH, you can’t make this stuff up. If this weren’t so sad, it would be comical. The engineer who trashed the train is going to teach us about train safety. It’s beyond irony.

I was watching part of a PBS show on nomads in Asia earlier (I love retirementland), and one of the women, who had an incredibly hard time of it, was saying she prayed for everybody in life, it was the only thing to do, even the ones that harmed her, and she added, “The main thing is to have compassion — not just chant.” That’s Willard, and he can’t even chant well. He could not handle any of these warm and meaningful and compassionate ceremonies. The fakery would be so bad even he would learn to just send somebody else in, to do it.

Please, November 2012, get here soon.
