ABC: …. When asked whether his crooning embarrassed his daughters, he retold a story from his 50th birthday party last summer, explaining that they think he’s “embarrassing, but not too embarrassing.”
“Malia and Sasha and a bunch of my friends and Michelle had sort of like a roast, a little private roast, each one of them read something and Malia and Sasha had written out why I am such a wonderful dad. And they had this list, it was so sweet and one of the items on Malia’s list was you are just the right amount of embarrassing,” he said to laughter from the audience.
#2?
Since neither you nor Jackie 4 O want first, I’ll take it.
FIRST! 😆 😆
You little stinker.
😯 😆 😆 😆
Second?
I love this family.
Aaaw! Distracted again by the devious Ms Chips! ;(
Busy reading your book, huh? 😆
😆 😆 😆 Right side up, …. I think!
Now I can go have lunch as I don’t anticipate a new post anytime soon. 😉
What adorable pictures. It warms my heart to see the love he has for his children and vice versa.
That pic of Malia in her blue coat on Inauguration Day gazing at her father: PRICELESS!
The Obamas have got to be the HAPPIEST public family I have ever seen! More so because their happiness never, never seems contrived – in any of them. I look at them and I can’t help smiling. ‘ The Obamas – America’s newest and very potent medecine for sadness’. The silent work they have done to raise the profile of ‘family values’ within the last 4 years has just been remarkable IMO.
Yup. We’ve got to make it come true again on November 6th.
Amen to that!
that is so sweet
Wonder if Bristol Palin will write an op-ed attacking Obama for embarrassing his daughters?
🙄
The Palin family is an embarrassment for the whole country. Ugh, when will we ever stop hearing from that family?
I thought we’d never hear from these freaks after 2008.
Shows what I know.
What Lifetime biggie decided that America needed a Bristol Palin reality show? That person should be shown the door for not possessing even the bare minimum amount of good judgement required of that position, or of any position. Should be made to retire to Tx. along with the other decider of ill repute.
Maybe Barnard College will invite Bristdull to address the graduates at Commencement next year to give the young women worldly advice. If she is busy the half term governor could stand in for her.
I see Bristol Palin giving the commencement address to her son’s pre-school……actually, the pre-schoolers would do a better job.
Ouch! 😆
I am loving Rev. Al and Marin Bashir on Now With Alex hosted by sometimes nitwit Alex Wagner. She tried to say Pres. Obama hasn’t done anything on immigration. Rev shut her down! Told her that’s a lie. That PBO’s DOJ sued Arizona for their hateful SB 1070 law and the case is being heard by the Supreme Court and just a few days ago the DOJ sued Sheriff Joe Arpaio. So yes, PBO is doing a lot regarding immigration. He’s fighting prejudiced anti-immigration laws.
Bashir is reaming Romney out on his so called “Job Creator” tagline and his whining about Pres. Obama being unfair re- the Romney Economics ad. Bashir shut down Ben Smith’s – BuzzFeed Ben – defense of Romney’s job creation tactics and told him that Romney should not call himself a job creator. He didn’t create huge amounts of jobs, he shut down factories, he shipped jobs overseas, and he made money for his investors. That’s the bottom line.
Hi guys, What a great interview for the president today. Even Elizabeth was nice. It was great to watch after watching the hyper press interrupt him & every irritating habit they have. MSM not good…………..
She wasn’t nice. She was just less snarky than usual. She managed to get a few digs in but Pres. Obama held his own and used facts to counter her Fox News BS.
She had her RNC talking points in hand, but they failed her, had her asking a question with a false premise. PBO shut her down. She just hiked up her dress and mostly did the fake smile thing after that. I actually think she secretly likes Obama, she has not escaped his charm, so it must be tough for the poor thing keeping up rt. wing appearances, trying to shut down emotions and brain cells.
I don’t think shutting down brain cells is a problem for Hasselback…
I know Sasha gets all the credit of being the apple of his eye but Malia is his wingman. I can imagine them having deep talks in her late teen years and even as she goes off to college. Such a smart little lady.
Who ever said Sasha gets “all the credit for the being the apple of his eye.” Where did you hear that bunk?
A brand new one for me too, UT.
Daddy little girl, he favors her, etc. I see/hear it all the time. Someone said he said it on the campaign trail (i didnt see it). They think it’s cause she has Michelle’s personality.
Michelle also talks about Malia differently then she talks about Sasha.
They are both deeply and equally loved, no shade on either sides.
“Daddy little girl, he favors her, etc.”
?????????
Just what I see. Not necessarily on here though. My mom thinks he favors her I don’t think he does. I’m not a parent though. I’m only having one so there is no confusion on favorites.
To say he “favors” one of his children over the other is, I think, bizarre.
That’s pure nonsense and bizarre to say the least. You should stop listening to gossip and arrant warped nonsense. He doesn’t favor one daughter over another. He loves them equally and to imply otherwise is to try and cause division.
There’s no question that Sasha is a Daddy’s girl. She’s always up under him. It’s adorable.
That’s pure hogwash. He’s always referred to his daughters as his little girls and has never shown preference for one over the other.
I have never noticed any special “daddy’s girl” thing or any sort of favoritism. I have always heard him talk lovingly of both daughters, sweet stories about both.
We have to remember we only see a small fraction of their lives. Both girls are fortunate to have such loving parents.
They both are the apple of his eye with very unique reasons – I imagine Malia is the philosophical one (my opinion only) and being the oldest he had a three start in bonding with her and Sasha is the baby and we know the baby gets away with everything ( speaking from experience). They are both his baby girls who he’ll see has his little girls way into adulthood.
She does. She’s more like him.
When I see the President talk of his daughters, I can tell he loves them both. And I bet they know that too.
I was one of two absolutely adored daughters of a bright and successful man…my sister and I were and are very different, but there was no difference in the degree of love for us. Each of us had a different relationship with our dad due to our own distinct personalities….that is what is seen here. Each girl knows she is adored by her father. I would say each one is “the apple of his eye” and I include Michele in that. He has such a big heart, he doesn’t prioritize. Those are three happy women with a wonderful man in their lives. He also loves his mother-in-law and loved his mother and grandmother. He is blessed by the wonderful women, of all ages, in his life, and he knows it. I have never seen a president so at ease and comfortable expressing love for his family as PBO, and I’ve seen them all since Truman.
How lovely, carolyn.
Sasha is at an age where all little girls are a “daddy’s girl.” Malia is older and becoming more independent. Their relationahip with their father differs because they’re different people and different ages.
PBO is the rare president with children in the White House who seems genuinely involved in their lives. How hard can that be? Let’s see…2:00 pm Save the auto industry, 3:00 pm meet with Prime Minister of Some Important Country, 4:00 pm Go to Sasha’s basketball game, 5:00 pm Fly off to campaign rally, 8:00 Check girls’ homework, 9:00 pm Phone call with campaign workers….etc…etc.
I don’t know how he does it but he does. (I am hoping to live long enough to see the girls become adults. They’ll be awesome.)
Looks like the jackals will be spending a lot of time today on the Bain ads. I’m waiting for the question about the TONE of the ads.
The President is on The View on the West Coast right now.
See how the people who know, REALLY know him look at him. Pictures really do say a thousand words.
Some tweets make me cringe.
Some things that trend on twitter make me wonder what the heck goes through some peoples minds on a daily basis.
Jonathan Capehart is irritating. Always weak points in support of Obama. And now he’s on Andrea Mitchell re-emphasizing the NYT poll and how this is good news for Willard. SIGH SIGH SIGH!
Heads up everyone:

Mitt Romney’s simplistic tale about the economy
By Greg Sargent
———————————–
But a closer look at the closing of this plant complicates Romney’s narrative. Certain aspects of the history don’t support the broader story Romney is telling — and the details offer an interesting window into the larger debate over the economy that’s driving the presidential race.
.
.
The rub, though, is that this new plant, which is shipping jobs here from Canada, is being built in part because of incentives created by city, county and state government, Klebba confirms — exactly the sort of government “picking winners and losers” that Romney likes to decry. Obama, by contrast, favors this sort of use of government resources to create American jobs.
In a broad sense, there’s no denying that Obama’s policies have not turned the economy around as fast as we’d hoped. But the example cited by the Romney campaign shows that the story is far more complex than the tale Romney is telling us, and in some ways it even undercuts Romney’s tale.

Dear Malia, it is a parent’s duty to embarrass their children. Just so you know! Love from Pamela in Seattle

Oh, duh, even after my lesson yesterday, I still failed… Interesting and sad story here about the Bishops, again, going after the Girl Scouts. Brodeur calls them “smaller fish to fry”.
No worries… here ya go:

I got to watch some of the Nat’l Peace Officers Memorial Service at lunch just now and my favorite non-PBO part shows how immature I can be. I got a kick out of the speaker who was thanking those in attendance -and he mispronounced John Boehner’s name. He even stumbled on it a bit – like he’d never seen the name before – and came out with “John Bonner”. 😆 Told you I was shallow!
Counting down less than an hour until Robmee’s speech here in Iowa. The theme of the speech is to be “Debt is like a prairie fire” for all of us Iowa hicks to relate to. Can’t wait – snark!
WOW! “Debt is like a prairie fire”? Please Myth Robme, keep putting yourself out there because the more people see him and compare contrast to PBO no one with a brain will vote for the Myth.
Boy, oh, boy if I had had a dad like our beloved President I would be sooooo pleased. What a blessing those girls have in their father. Their mother is great too. I just love the way he loves his girls.Malia and Sasha are going to be fierce women.
