HOW CAN ANYONE DENY SUCH GREAT ROLE MODELS FOR OUR COUNTRY? THEY ARE DOUBLY AWESOME! THE DIFFERENCE WITH THE ‘OBAMAS’ IS THEY ACTUALLY LOVE PEOPLE…THEY REALLY CARE AND THEY WEAR THEIR COMPASSION ON THEIR SLEEVE! IT’S THE OBVIOUS CHOICE FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS!
SUE, you are so right. The Romneys look down on people, the poor and middle class. Like we are beneath them. Like they are superior to us poor, middle class folks.
Morning TBO & Welcome! I love the way you sidestepped…ooops! answered (nosy) Amk. 😆 Don’t worry, we are family here and we can MO(=our)OB if that’s what’s called for. I mean to say, we are not even pushing to discover who Snark Knoller is ’cause that would take away the fun, right CC?
I love the last line of the ad, “you don’t quit and neither does he” and I love the focus on the middle class worked. Like a fool, it brought tears to my eyes.
That’s the only kind of Dem who gets invited on—–anyone who has caused conflict and trouble for PBO. Anyone who speaks well for the president is persona non grata—–and if one manages to ever sneak on, it’s one and done. Joe doesn’t care for anyone who can smack him down and make him appear simple and wrongheaded, which he is.
President Obama will hold a conference call with elected officials and student government leaders to discuss the need for Congress to prevent student loans interest rates from doubling on July 1.
President Obama will hold a conference call with elected officials and student government leaders to discuss the need for Congress to prevent student loans interest rates from doubling on July 1.
Good morning everyone. I was just on twitter and saw that Joe, the freaking liar, is sprouting lies about the President again this morning. I refuse to watch his show, but I know that it is imperative that we call him out on his lies. I appreciate what others are doing immensely! have a good day everyone and keep fighting the good fight.
Thanks for this Chips. I’ve been on a high since the weekend…..PBO’s rallies, Chelsea winning the FA Cup Final, watching Pride and Prejudice for the millionth time and now this TV Ad. Woohoooooo….. I’m tweeting the heck out of it!
Do what you can to support our POTUS: phonebanking, registering people to vote, tabling at street fairs, hosting an event to connect with your neighbors, volunteering at OFA events, etc., etc., etc. Meet AWESOME people!
OOOOpppps!! ut, I sat here staring at that post for a couple of minutes knowing I’d forgotten something but I just couldn’t think of it. DUH. Thanks for the assist. LOLz.
I’m sure it’s beautiful; I love your area! I have 120 purple bearded irises on my front lawn, but who’s counting, so I’m good, too. Enjoy your day, early bird!
You actually count them! 😆 Good Morning JOB. Maybe I should count my beautiful yellow flowers too, then I might not feel so guilty about their proliferation. They grow rapidly, on their own and without any extra treatment, they transplant themselves, and they are always robust and healthy looking. One shouldn’t look for more than that in a plant!
VC – Doesn’t everybody count their blessings, or at least their flowers? I can assure you, mine are growing all on their own, as well (the blessing part), and I don’t feel a bit guilty! My part is just going outside each day and saying to them, “Well, look at you!” for a little encouragement.
They are pushing politicos battleground poll with Robnry up 1!
And Robnry has a ten point lead on indes.
I don’t believe it.
But, if it is true, it is because of the Media, non stop, pounding the President everyday.
It’s time to stop ignoring the polls, we have seen this movie before thr R wing would like us to believe
their bullshit. Let’s us concentrate on the ground we this is our game, if we continue watching the polls
we are going to go nuts, so let’s stay calm shall we?
um, WHITE WOMEN are counted as a MINORITY….HENCE, them being the biggest beneficiaries of AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.

MA GOP Calls For Harvard Investigation Of Warren’s Minority Status
The Chair of the Massachusetts Republican Party Bob Maginn sent a letter to the president of Harvard asking for an investigation into Elizabeth Warren’s minority status at the university. The MA GOP and Scott Brown’s campaign have been attacking Warren for being listed as a minority because her great, great, great grandmother was Cherokee. The letter alleges “academic fraud” on Warren’s part by Harvard’s own standards of “academic honesty in the law school’s statement of community principles.” At the end, the letter touches on whether Warren received any special treatment or “advantages” because of her minority status.
The letter concludes: “Harvard must investigate Ms. Warren’s false claims to be a minority; how it came to pass that Harvard accepted these claims; and the extent to which Ms. Warren’s alleged minority status afforded her advantages to which she would not otherwise have been entitled.”
The Republican Party is absolutely terrified of Elizabeth Warren. They are desperately trying to find some way to discredit her. In retrospect, I guess they wish she was head of the CFPB now instead of running for the senate seat in MA. We need more women in the senate. She will be an amazing senator and a partner for President Obama. Seeing this article just makes me want to send Elizabeth a few bucks to help fight back against the GOP culture of viciousness. I am outraged by this attack on her.
Bringing Coattails Back: President Obama Stars In New Elizabeth Warren For Senate Ad
————————————
The commercial hits all the right populist notes for this year’s 99 percentric election. ”Elizabeth Warren,” the President says in the ad. “She’s a janitor’s daughter who has become one of the country’s fiercest advocates for the middle class. She came up with an idea for a new independent agency that would have one simple overriding mission: standing up for consumers and middle class families.”
The ad concludes with Warren saying “The big banks tried to stop us but that new agency is already working to cut the fine print and hold those banks accountable. We can take on the big guys and win. I’m Elizabeth Warren.”
Actually, from reading the article the GOP is questioning her Native American minority status. Some NA minorities are afforded job preference points in hiring. Elizabeth Warren is only 1/32 percentage NA if the article has her lineage listed correctly. There are other complications that can change the % formula such as other tribal marriages and it can get quite complicated. I am 1/16th roll member Native American and my tribe recognizes that small of a percentage. Many tribes do not go that far down the list in recognition. My children are 1/32nd and do not qualify to be on the tribal rolls. They do however qualify to get medical service in any recognized Native Health Clinic. That is pretty iffy though since many have too many current patients and many tribes do not have health clinics. My kids do not qualify to go outside the clinics on Indian Health Insurance plans. I feel fortunate to have Native American blood in me, but am also 15/16th White American so put both on my race box when filling out forms. I currently live on tribal land.
Not clear about the issues and comments here, since I underslept, but – although it’s been a while – I used to work in that field for several years, and have only seen the categories of “women, minorities, and persons with disabilities” as affirmative action/employment classes. First of all, anyone can claim any minority group as their own; if Eliz. Warren wishes to state she’s Native American, and I don’t know if she did or if she benefited from that, as this Republican group is alleging, it’s allowed (I’ve seen that happen) (and Native Americans are a protected class). Second, all women are underrepresented in some admissions or some occupations; that’s why women are a full class, no matter which racial group. I’ve never seen “white women” as a class; only, “women.” Minority women are included under both areas that require taking an affirmative action (if the organization falls into the category of requiring it) at granting an admission or hiring/promoting (minority women may be underrepresented because of both their gender and their racial group). Third, and I mention all this because of this point, alone, this highlighted Republican b.s. is just to serve as a distraction to voters and Elizabeth’s supporters, so the eye gets moved off the ball. We shouldn’t let it.
I think what rikyrah was saying was you don’t have to be “of color” to be considered a minority – that being a woman is considered thus.
White women have indeed benefited under affirmative action yet it’s always being portrayed as Blacks and Hispanics etc are the ones taking away all the jobs due to AA
I agree with your latter point, and that annoying truth will always be used by the ignorant jackals who push that message. On the first clarification (which I appreciate, given the lack of coffee I’ve had so far this morning), I underslept and probably didn’t slant my response correctly to the points made, because for a fleeting moment I think I understood the comment as you are suggesting, but I just really wanted to get at the Republican b.s., the heart of all of this foolishness about E.W. Does this make sense? Anyway, thanks.
You do know that includes many who are considered white now, right? In the 20th century, Greeks, Turks, Slavs, to name a few, all sued to have the right of citizenship/to vote.
I really can’t stand these right wingers! It would be one thing if they were honest, upstanding citizens – but given their near-treasonous acts against America’s recovery over these three years, they really have a nerve calling anyone’s integrity into question. I despise them and their hypocritical ways.
Are there any Native Americans on board right now? I believe Warren was claiming 1/32nd blood quantum. As a government employee, I thought I read that in some tribes, people could claim Indian heritage up to 1/64th. Am I wrong????
I am behind the posts so did not see this till now. I am 1/16th Native American blood quantum living on tribal land. I am the cutoff for my tribe. My children do not qualify to be on the tribal rolls. Some tribes only go to 1/4th and others go lower than my own percentage. I am not aware of exactly how far they go down the line. I know when I was looking for a teaching job in Alaska I was awarded extra points for being Native American. I also know that schools and jobs like to show diversity in their hiring. I imagine this is a ploy to try to say she is not qualified and got the job through racial preference just like they tried saying PBO only got into Harvard due to his ethnicity.
I think it’s also missing the point that she didn’t claim it to get hired. It was Harvard who touted her heritage while on the defensive about diversity. That’s on Harvard, not her. There was an op-ed in yesterday’s WashPost by a Native American who said that if Warren feels that she is Native, then it’s her right to feel so.
I have a cyberbuddy in Mass who volunteers for Elizabeth Warren..she and her Mom do. She wrote me that Elizabeth stated her NA blood because she was proud of it not because she needed to take “advantage of it”. The gopricks are throwing their own shite against the wall to see if anything sticks.
You know, I feel bad for this Weinstein Guy who was captured by Al Qaeda, but really? He wants the President to agree to Al Qaeda demands? A halt to all airstrikes all over, release Prisoners, give them food etc… Yeah right, whatever.
Not to be indelicate but-…, Ain’t happening!
I wonder what Robney will say?
(1) The President doesn’t care about white people, (2) the President doesn’t care about Jewish people, and/or (3) the President doesn’t care about senior citizens. This is Mittens we’re talking about–depending on the audience, he will use any and all three arguments. He could spend the time coming up with a foreign policy plan but that can be such an ugh.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE…I LOVE THE ‘FORWARD’ AD…WHAT A MATURE,INTELLIGENT AND COMPASSIONATE PRESIDENT WE HAVE. I PRAY FOR HIS CONTINUED STRENGTH AS WE MOVE ‘FORWARD’ CHALLENGING THE MOUNTAIN OF OBSTRUCTION LEFT FOR HIM BY THE GOP PARTY OF GREED,PILFERING AND LIES. TODAY I HAVE TO GO AND FIND SOME GOODIES TO SERVE AT A FRIEND’S PRIMARY PARTY TOMORROW NIGHT. I’M ALL EXCITED ABOUT GOING TO THAT! MY OTHER HALF IS NOT VOTING TOMORROW…HE’S FILLED WITH HATE..DARE I SAY…WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND…TAKE A NUMBER BUDDY!
As we move FORWARD~~~~~>…The GOP and their MSM allies…will continure to spin lies and distortions and there will be Dem defections…their true colors will be shown…
it is on us…The Foot soldiers on the ground to make the difference….to use our weapons….twitter/FB/and this magnificent BLOG to debunk what is being said…
to use some of the words of an old union song….
I’M NOT GONNA LET ANYTHING TURN ME AROUND….
in the words of Fannie Lou Hammer….
I AIN’T NO WAYS TIRED…..
and in the words of the President…
WE DO NOT GIVE UP….
Today Show starts out with video of some aid hostage who was seized in Pakistan–?—making a plea directly to President Obama—man, they must have been happy with that when it showed up—-keep saying that he makes a plea to President Obama directly. Then they have the main prosty on from Columbia, who is going to become a millionaire for her trouble, saying that the SS guys were idiots, so stupid, and she can’t believe that PRESIDENT OBAMA has to rely on them for his security. They they have Chuck Todd showing a clip of Willard asking are you better off and Todd saying that’s a POWERFUL message.
Monday morning with our news media.
They are working OT with Rt-wing polls to set the narrative.
Everyday the media heavily favors Robney, trying to make it a Refferendum on the President.
Robney is being ignored, it’s like he does not exist! Hmmm!
Robney can’t be ignored forever. Ultimately he has to stand on his own and confront the American people and he can’t send Chuck Todd or Ann to the stage to debate for him. And people are going to ask themselves if they really want the empty shelled, tired old ideas Robney as their president.
That is not a powerful question, that’s just Chuckie Todd opinion. And dam idiot knows we’ve face the toughest crisis since the great depression. But things are moving in the right direction. Here is the real question, Do you trust Mitt Romney and the G.W. Bush, Tea Party Repubicans to make you better off? When looking at President Obama record, check out Romney’s record and the Republicans record also. I think it’s time for a email to Chuckie Todd.
It makes sense that Rubber Stamp Romney would be trying to reuse a line from President Ronald Reagan (Are you better today than you were four years ago). He can’t think up anything original to say on his own. He copies everything President Obama does and now he’s copying President Reagan. All we get are lies, juvenile pranks, stalking, smoke and mirrors, and slight of hand with Romney. Nothing is real with this man. He’s a fake, phony and a fraud.
As far as Chuck Todd saying that was a powerful message, don’t make me laugh. I am sure OFA will be happy to remind Rubber Stamp Romney that yes indeed the country is better off today than it was four years ago. We could start with the auto industry, OBL. healthcare reform, Dodd-Frank, over 4 million plus private sector jobs, and out of Iraq to name a few. Cleaning up the wreckage from the Bush administration continues. And so does Romney’s willful ignorance.
Indeed – that IS a powerful message…for President Obama to make! He’s the one who has turned around the job losses that occurred under his presidency after the failed policies of Romney’s party destroyed the economy. Those auto workers? They have an answer to that question. Those teachers and firefighters and police men/women – they also have an answer to that question that Romney may not be prepared to hear. Those college students attending college with a little bit lighter load due to President Obama’s pell grant extensions, or those who will be able to handle their loan repayments due to the President’s policies – they’ve got an answer to that question. Those seniors who now have a lower burden because of the closing of the donut hole, or who are now receiving preventive care? They have an answer to that question. What about the parents whose children can stay on their health care? Or the workers whose companies are seeing an increase in trade because of the trade deals signed by President Obama? Or the many companies seeing record profits, or feeling good about themselves because they’re hiring veterans? Or the people around the world who are spared the agony of war because of the better international relationships and partnerships this President has fostered? Or the kids who will breathe cleaner air and drive more efficient cars because of the work this President has done with the EPA – despite obstruction by the GOP?
Yes, Romney should ask the country if they’re better off now than they were four years ago under a GOP president, whose policies Romney wants to bring back. Ask those 4.2 million workers who have found jobs, or the many millions more whose jobs were saved whether they were better off under Bush – or if they’re better off under President Obama. Romney and Chuck Todd may not have thought this one through. This is a powerful message, indeed.
So apparently President Obama is going to run on his record as a campaign theme, thereby causing everyone’s head to explode wondering why he would do that. Simple, when you’ve saved the auto industry, passed a health care bill that has eluded every Democratic President since damn near the beginning of time, demonstrably saved America from a second great depression, and you’ve ordered the killing of Osama bin Laden and every other terrorist walking the face of the earth, why not run on his record.
When I heard that Howard Fineman (via his illustrious sources) had said President Obama would not be running on his record I laughed out loud. That was one of the most asinine statements I have ever heard a gasbag make. Now Howard has egg on his face. My sources tell me that Howard needs better sources.
Could it possibly be that Fineman doesn’t have any “sources” at all? That they are all just a figment of his imagination? Little voices in his head saying what he wants them to say to cause trouble for President Obama and to please Queen Arianna?
Just Republicans. Once he became political editor at huffpo and it not only remained a rw cesspool and even got worse, it was clear who Fineman really was.
The Republicans and their media whores believe their own lies. Who in their right mind would expect the President not to run on a record that has been the most legislatively successful record in the history of the country? Nancy Pelosi’s House was the most productive session in years! The good they’ve done in the face of GOP obstruction will be legend! Only a fool (like Coward Fineman) would think they’d be swayed by GOP lies about his record, and shy away from it. There are some Dems who are that stupid (a lot of them are no longer in office, like Russ Feinberg, Weiner, Grayson) – but the President isn’t one of them.
Good morning TOD! 2 new polls out today USATODAY/GALLUP Swing States Poll PBO 47% – Romney 45% and the GOPolitico Battleground Poll has Romney 48%-47% PBO. Both polls show PBO leads in values, middle class, women and likeability. It’s gonna be tight at the National level but the Electoral College definitely has PBO leading YAY
Well, these are Rt-wing polls, when you poll less Minorities and mire Conservative Women, that is what happens
I mean, Robney leads on women vote over 45 years old???
Sure, if you poll cconservative Women. Red flag, right there!
See what I am saying?
There are good, brave people of all backgrounds all around the globe, helping others (otherwise, conditions would be even worse), so we can’t really cast aspersions on ’em. My take.
Yes, I see your point, but, we’re blaming the victim, methinks, if we’re saying humanitarian workers don’t have common sense if they are in certain areas, and if they did, they’d stay home. I know you know there are all kinds of people doing humanitarian work, including our own military, around the globe, often in dangerous areas. I wouldn’t, and maybe you wouldn’t, but they risk it for a higher purpose of their choosing.
I see both of your points. But you always hope that humanitarian workers are well aware of the dangers they face when they go into these areas. There are usually travel alerts for these areas, which means you go there at your own risk. Along with that the political implications for this country, should you be injured, captured or killed should also be considered.
Those in the Military are different from humanitarian workers, because even though they volunteer to go into the service, they are ordered to go to dangerous countries, and they have received combat training.
I think it’s stretching it a bit for a humanitarian volunteer to expect to have the same leverage in demanding federal assistance if they are captured. Since they aren’t military, they just become hostages, and a liability for whatever the foreign policy intentions are for the country you are in.
Humanitarian work. Yes. Traveling to war zones and restricted areas–go at your own risk and prepare for the worse if you are captured. I don’t mean to sound callous, just realistic.
Red sky in the morning! I have pondered the idea that amk, yardarm and japa might be the only bloggers left on the site, if what was said unthread is true. Pondering the implications, how would that change the world for many of us? Yikes.
are you better off? Here’s my answer, If the Tea- Republicans had work with the President, instead of plotting against him, things would be better. But we are heading in the right direction, thanks to President Obama.
The House returns from recess this week, and the GOP plans to introduce a budget bill that cuts $380 billion, mostly from social programs in order to protect military budgets. The programs that are on the GOP’s chopping block include food stamps, child tax credits and Medicaid — three programs essential to those living in poverty. The bill is an effort to staunch the automatic spending cuts that were put in place as a part of the debt ceiling deal last summer.
The gender gap between President Obama’s supporters and Mitt Romney’s is growing., according to a new USA Today/Gallup poll of swing states. There is a 20-point gap between presidential preferences of men and women, up from 12 percentage points in February, the poll shows.
This has to be retweeted and retweeted and retweeted to the WH press corps. God I admit I didn’t think the dishonesty and manipulation would get this worse.
MY PARTY TOMORROW NIGHT WILL BE WITH MY DEAR ‘O’ SISTER TERRY NELSON…SHE AND I HAVE BEEN SISTERS SINCE 2008 AND THEN SOME. I MUST SAY I AM DISAPPOINTED IN MYSELF BECAUSE I AM SO SICK THIS YEAR…BUT, I WILL DO MY BEST TO MOVE ‘FORWARD’ FOR MY PBO! AND…I ALWAYS REMEMBER…GOD IS IN CONTROL! HE SMILES ON OUR PRESIDENT!
The AFL-CIO’s super-PAC will began running its first round of ads Monday to target presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
Workers’ Voice will run online ads taking issue with Romney, saying he will be “president for the 1 percent,” that he thinks “corporations are people” and that the candidate is a “corporate outsourcer” and “vulture capitalist.” The ads include the infamous picture of Romney when he was at Bain Capital, posing with some of the firm’s partners, holding cash in their hands.
The 2010 healthcare law is benefiting nurses and helping to cure nursing shortages, the Obama administration says in a new report to be released on Monday.
The report’s release coincides with the start of National Nurses Week and comes as President Obama launches his reelection effort with special attention to healthcare issues.
Hilda Soliz on Bill Press this morning talked about jobs in health care and STILL didn’t tie it to the great job creator that ACA is and will be. At least I heard health care and jobs in the same sentence.
I never understood why the RWNJ media doesn’t scream more bloody murder about the ACA because it is a “hidden” stimulus program
I also never understood how the US economy could support such a bad health care insurance system … in the end, for an economy to flourish, its workers have to be healty.
Of course they can’t say this out loud, ( because no one in the media wants to talk about it.) But they are factoring in all the voter ID (supression laws) that the Repubs passed/ or passing. The media’s silence on this issue is a travesty.
Have Robney help you with the cement. After all, he said he would build a pipeline from Canada thru Mexico all by himself. So his carpentry skills must be off the charts.
You’re joking about the Twilight Zone marathon for real I hope – I watched the marathon on New Years (as I usually do)! But they don’t usually have marathons in May 🙂
Medicare was and is the best thing that happened for my husband. I’m still without insurance. I need to reapply and get a letter of rejrction to apply to the high risk pool. Gonna hang on awhile longer before collecting SS.
Hanging on – the best way to describe so many Americans while vulture Republicans continue their destruction.
I first discovered political blogs in 2007, hence 57and Female. Thought about changing it every year but decided that I would keep my “blogging rebirth ” in terms of political activism.
Thanks! I teach beginning quilters and was on my feet for 7 hours straight on Saturday and every muscle and joint in my body ached. I was feeling every bit of my age, let me tell ya.
Yes, you’ll “learn,” younger baby, as somebody once told me, “If it hurts when you do that … uh … don’t do that.” None of this stuff was in the brochure for these years, was it? We coulda used some warning, in advance, I’m thinkin’. 🙂
Ain’t that the truth……….. You’re absolutely right: now I build in to my schedule that I will need the day after I teach to recover. We make adjustments.
Hey! Happy Birthday to those of us born in 1950! It was a good Tiger year… I will reach it a little behind you, 57, in December… After we have re-elected Obama~Biden! Yes! Now you have yourself a terrific and wonderful day, hear? 🙂 🙂 🙂
My daughter has just been diagnosed with Bi-polar illness. She is out of the hospital and about to start an outpatient program this morning. This is very hard.
The good news is that she is covered by my insurance policy. Thank goodness for Obamacare.
My blog was able to carry on without me because I can create blog stories that are timed to post days in advance. Today I am hoping to spend some time at this blog and share so many of the stories Creole Child has shared with me over the past few weeks.
WiW….you have been missed. We were wondering where you were just last night….so sorry to hear about your daughter. This will be tough, but thank goodness for Obamacare…!!!! Know that you are in our thoughts. I hope that she can manage her life through this illness and be the person that she needs to be. This is hard. Hugs to both of you. You’re in our thoughts and prayers.
WiW thank you so much for all your hard work. I’ll be sending healing thoughts your way and hoping that you find the strength to face this challenge with hope and optimism. I am so glad Obamacare worked out well for your family.
Oh Linda- ((((((((((hugs))))))))))) back to you and to your daughter.. my best thoughts are for you both ~ take care.. and thank you so much for all of the important, helpful info that you post for all of us.
Linda,
My niece has Bi-polar, was diagnosed about 5 years ago, and is living a happy, productive life. She is holding down a job and doing really well at it, she just got promoted actually, she got married 2 years ago to a very loving, caring guy (there are some out there), and most importantly, knows she has to stay on her medication at all times, and is doing so faithfully. She’s one of my heros. She lives in Canada, so she didn’t need Obamacare, but I am so glad that she’s covered by your policy. It won’t be an easy road ahead for her, as it is not for my niece, but it is manageable.
Virtual Hugs back attcha Linda!
I’m soo sorry to hear about your daughter but I’m very glad that she’ll be able to get the care she needs. You were missed. Thanks for all you do in providing us such important information!
My heart is with you, WiW. The board was just asking about you yesterday.
My youngest brother was diagnosed a few years ago. The early treatment can be rough until doctors sort out the medication regimen but once that’s determined, everything gets much, much better. Thank goodness for the detection and your health insurance. Please take good care. {{{{hugs}}}}
Linda hugs and hopes for the best go out to you and your daughter. Very happy indeed to hear that she’s able to get the treatment that she needs through Obamacare.
I was just asking about you yesterday! Good to see you back. And now I know why I kept getting your blog posts. Very clever. Sorry to hear about your daughter; thrilled she’s covered.
Sorry to hear of your daughter’s diagnosis. The good news is that it has been diagnosed which means they can begin to find the treatment that works for her. And treatment does work, once you get past the trial and error stage, because everyone is different requiring different levels of treatment.
So hang in there. It gets better. Blessings to your whole family
No administration has reduced aggregate government spending as a precentage of GDP as much as Obama’s in forty years. If you look at the full chart, back to George HW Bush, you reach an inescapable conclusion: the biggest spenders and borrowers are Republicans and the most fiscally conservative presidents have been Democrats. Given the last two decades, the Tea Party, if they really want to shrink government, should be voting for Obama.
And this “fiscal conservative” mantra of the Republicans is THE biggest sham in history!!
They also tried to get a law of the books and on to the Ballot by getting 200k signatures on a petition, but when it was presented the review board for inspection the 2 repubs on the board said the font on the header was too small, so the petition was rejected.
Many thanks to Creole Child who sent me all these links, she is going into her finals soon, lets all send her good thoughts so she can be her “brilliant” self and ace all her exams.
A Very Good Morning Chips & TODville! I’m VC and I approve the message above ALSO, TOO! 😆 😆 So what’s in store for this week? I’m ready, ….. I think. 😉
Chips Chica, THANKS for squeezing us so bountifully into your busy weekend! It felt wonderful to have such a front row seat to the President’s campaign launch so that I could actually count the ’empty’ seats! Youse a great gift to us and we really appreciates you! ps. Say ‘hi’ to SnarkK for me in case I miss him/her today in my flittings in and out.
Hey guys this is the video of Charles Barkley at the Celtics game saying in his Barkley style that Romney is going down. It was hilarious. The writer Amanda Terkel actually gave me credit in her writing for telling her about the incident. Pretty honest of her. Anyways, Barkley is the main focus and his visceral response to seeing Romney was funny!
The Senate meets at 2 p.m. to resume consideration of S. 2343, the Stop Student Loan Interest Rate Hike Act.
Senate Democrats will be looking to move the bill ahead this week in order to provide a viable alternative to a House-passed bill. The Senate bill keeps the interest rate on federally subsidized student loans at 3.4 percent for another year, and pays for it by capturing more payroll taxes from high-income earners.
In contrast, the House bill would shut down a preventive health fund created by the 2010 healthcare law.
The Senate will spend just a few hours on the student loan bill, then take up three nominations, and start voting on them by 5:30 p.m. They are:
Jacqueline Nguyen to be United States circuit judge for the 9th Circuit;
Kristine Baker to be United States district judge for the Eastern District of Arkansas; and
John Lee to be United States district judge for the Northern District of Illinois.
MY OPINION…AS MUCH AS I LOVE VP BIDEN…HE SHOULD NEVER HAVE SPOKEN OUT WAY AHEAD OF PBO ON THE SUBJECT OF GAY MARRIAGE. HE SHOULD HAVE SAID THAT THOSE ARE ISSUES LEFT TO THE PRESIDENT. THE REPUBLICANS WILL PLAY THIS ONE TO THE MAAAAAAAX! I AM FRANKLY DISAPPONTED IN THIS AND IT PUTS PBO IN A SANDWICH I DON’T LIKE.
If any one other than me noticed, the only people talking about gay marriage are the gop hacks in the media. This was an effort to take attention away from Willard for firing his gay adviser. Apparently it worked, since that is all we are going to hear about today. I won’t even be watching Rachel today, since this is all she will be talking. This was also a great way to take attention from PBO’s rallies this weekend.
Donna, Bill Press, PL, started his show off with the question, should PBO admit his support for same sex marriage before or after the election? Also it is being discussed on Stephanie Miller, i.e. callers are calling in.
As much as I hate Romney and his tools, we can’t blame them for what our side is saying. We know who they are and how they play, so we should decide if we’re playing by their rules or ours.
Good point, I wouldn’t be surprised if marriage equality is added to the Dem platform for the election. It would also be a good reminder to LGBT voters to get the gop out of congress.
I watched Biden yesterday and I thought he did fine no matter what water Chuck Toad carries for Romney. Biden repeatedly said that the President sets the agenda. But it is okay for a prominent Democrat to support an issue of the base. Gregory tried to pin him down on marriage equality in the second term and Joe would not let Gregory put him in a box. The reason Repubs were able to gain the power they have over the last 30 years is by shoring up support of their base. Democrats tend to get scared. Joe spoke his heart and his compassion and reaffirmed that this President has done more for the LGBT community than all other presidents combined. Nudging the ball down the progressive field is how we’ll take back our country. Not overnight but it’s a definite step. I thought VP Biden did a masterful job.
I didn’t watch, but from what I heard I thought he did a great job also. I see nothing wrong in what he said and was damn proud of him saying it. I mean really people, if we keep succumbing/quaking in fear to every little nasty jab these pundits throw out there between now and the election, we are in serious trouble. Remember they take every strength and try to turn it around as ‘good for McCain’. It’s old already.
He draws huge crowds in Europe, he will never survive on the world stage;
he’s supported by performing industry, he’s a rock star president (as if that’s bad);
he speaks in whole sentences, he’s an affirmative action liberal elite with an ivy league education;
he promotes womens’ issues, women hate him;
he gets BinLaden, credit Bush & Co;
Tavis Smiley said something stupid, he’s lost the AA vote;
young ppl are joining his campaign, older people won’t vote for him;
he fills stadiums with rearing to go college students, yet they have lost all enthusiasm;
he enacts major legislation with total, 100% GOPTeaparty obstruction and he’s not going to run on his record;
the sky is falling and I still don’t have my magic rainbow unicorn;
etc, etc
Come on people, add to the list. There are just so many and so frequent. I’m sure the minute I post this more will easily come to mind. 😆
That’s exactly how I see it. And you and your pesky facts to back everything up!
I’m not saying to cave to the ridiculous demands of the whiny left, but this kind of support for our side of the spectrum is what builds coalitions over decades. It’s what Republicans do so well and Democrats screw up. We can’t pull apart on stuff like this from either vantage point: purity or fear. It’s time to see progress as progress, and understand that we’re in the generational fight of our lives. I, for one, was proud that my Vice President, a Catholic, stood for compassion and love and equal rights under the law. If it takes a second term, or even the first term of President Elizabeth Warren (!) it’s time for all lefties to understand how to truly ‘progress’.
So Education Secretary Arne Duncan said this morning that he supports marriage equality, and yesterday V.P. Biden said he also supports marriage equality. So now Romney has to either piss or get off the pot, if I didn’t know any better, I think Joe Biden intentionally set a trap yesterday and Arne Duncan is just upping the ante. Brilliant move team Obama.
Exactly, Debz. And Vice President Joey took careful pains to say the President sets the policy for the administration, but he supports it as VP. The Vice President was a big ol’ smooth talker (his best interview, ever, that I can recall) in every single word he said yesterday on MTP, even to the point of not sounding scripted, but I’m sure he would never have said that if it weren’t carefully coordinated in advance.
WHERE DOES RUBBER STAMP ROMNEY STAND ON THE NC SAME SEX MARRIAGE BALLOT?
Bigotry on the Ballot
————————————–
North Carolina already has a law barring same-sex marriage, but the state’s Republican-controlled Legislature is not satisfied. It devised a measure to enshrine this obvious discrimination in the State Constitution and placed it on the ballot of the state’s May 8 primary election — a test of tolerance versus bigotry that ought to be watched closely nationwide.
.
.
Opponents of marriage equality have never been able to show any evidence that any harm is caused to heterosexual marriages by granting all American adults the right to marry as they choose — because there is no such evidence. With little more than a week to go before the May 8 contest, and early voting already under way, North Carolinians need to consider whether they really want to inflict this gratuitous bigotry on their fellow citizens and their children.
Actually, all that it’ll do IMO is put more pressure on PBO. The media never ask Romney for answers about anything, but the media will – and already is playing the “Ovama doesn’t support gay marriage” card. I’d like to think that both Joe and Duncan are actually paving the way for the big PBO support announcment, but I doubt.
You are correct BWD. That is why I’d say the WH knew this would be the msm talking point to distract from Willard’s firing the gay guy and PBO’s rallies. They are paving the way for some announcement from POTUS. Unfortunately the msm is pushing the “Obama doesn’t support gay marriage” crap. They will never ask Romney anything.
Change the narrative! We DO have choices. Sit and complain how the media is controlling our thoughts and dialog or get right in their faces about it. Those are just 2 of many options that come to mind, but there are others.
Hi TOD family. I’ve been visiting this site daily and have thoroughly enjoyed all things PBO. Today, I decided to join the ranks and leave the bias world of MSM (especially Morning Joe) and will now only watch Rachel, Ed and Lawrence.
I am fired up and Ready to Go. The rallies this weekend were too awesome for words. During the Ohio rally, I kept clapping my hands, leaping to my feet, stomping my feet, cheering with my hands in the air and yelling “Do that sh*t, Barack.” You know that saying “Go hard or stay home”, well PBO went HARD!!!! He laid out his record AND the reasons why he is running for re-election. Mendacious Mitt is out of his depth. We have yet to hear what his vision is other than the fact that he is a rapacious “businessman” or as PBO so aptly put it, ran a “financial firm.” LOL.
I was thinking of a new ad that we as supporters could produce and try to make viral: It would start with a black background with the words “Does Mitt Romney relate to voters” and then could show all of his out-of-touch moments like being able to fire people, not being worried about the poor, Ann’s cadillacs, cookiegate, being friends with Nascar owners, etc. Then the next question with the black background would be “So why is Mitt Romney running for President?” and then show Ann Romney’s comment from Diane Sawyer saying “It’s Our Turn.” Unfortunately, I don’t have the capabilities to do this, but I think it would be great if someone was able to put this together.
Hi Ronique.
I am so happy you decided to “delurk” and add your voice to the power of positive change.
Also, too(!), love your thoughts on the commercial; not sure if we can self-fund (TODer’s, maybe we need to spring for Colbert’s $99.00 kit-:-) or maybe we can make sure your idea is heard at the upper echelons of the Obama campaign.
Either way, I so welcome the addition of such a positive voice.
Thanks for the warm welcome, Pam. I feel the love, LOL.
As far as the commercial is concerned, I didn’t think it would be a good idea to have the campaign involved especially if the ad contained Ann Romney (didn’t want the “entitled ones” crying foul attacks on spouses and pretending any faux outrage.) I like the sound of the Colbert kit or maybe we can put our TOD collective minds together and figure something else out.
I plan on constantly spreading the message to everyone with whom I come into contact that Mitt Romney sees the office of the Presidency as his “heir apparent” and not an honor and reward bestowed on someone who has EARNED the title like our esteemed PBO. The coronation of the Republican primary where he skated to victory by only offering negative attacks on his opponents WILL NOT WORK in the general election. Despite what the Romneys feel, it is NOT THEIR TURN and NEVER WILL BE!!!!
Jovie, you and ut wrote the exact same comment????

Chips if you’re around and have the time can you repost the chart showing the detailed timeline of this administrations accomplishments on LGBT issues over the last 3 years? I think we need to give some folks in the MSM and on Twitter a nice freshly brewed hot steaming cup of “STFU.”
I will try to track it down myself in case you’re not able to get to it.
Obama campaign used Kansas firm for conference call: Contrast with GOP
By Lynn Sweet on May 7, 2012 9:59 AM
WASHINGTON– Last Thursday, I reported how, when I called in for a Republican National Committee conference call, I asked where the operator I talked to was based and was told Manila. Today–Monday–when I phoned into an Obama for American conference call featuring campaign manager Jim Messina and top strategist David Axelrod, I asked the same question to the operator; she told me she was in Wichita, Kansas.
Seriously? They even outsource something as basic as a conference call? This says something about what a Romney administration would look like. Heck he outsourced 99% of the businesses he aggressively took over, so why should this be any different.
It happened last week and it’s an ugly shame that this didn’t get more press. We need to keep this on the front burner as one more piece of evidence in a stack of a million other pieces that Romney is absolutely and incontrovertibly TONE DEAF and never acts in the interests of AMERICA.
The msm are pathetic. Just saw a segment on MSNBC a few minutes ago about the Colombian prostitute scandal. They have nothing left to talk about. So basically, the woman interviewed one of the prostitutes and this news worthy interview consisted of how much she charges a night and if the secret service agents had nice bodies and how good they were in bed. Apparently, it was imperative for this reporter to let us know that one of the secret service guys got on a table and lifted up his shirt to show his rock hard abs.
This is what the news media is about today. This is the kind of stuff they consider breaking news.
OT—-but Chgo daughter and fam were on TV last night on a segment about Best Pizza in Chicago—–happened to be in a pizza joint when they were filming. A joint in every sense of the word—–one of those great Chgo flavor places—-5 generations of great pizza—-eclectic in atmosphere and clientele, caught glimpses of daughter taking a delicious bite and adorablest 2 yr. old grandson grinning a super-sized grin. Would love to share but too personal, I guess. But fun!
I recall seeing pictures of people camping out under plastic sheeting waiting in long lines in the cold recently. That’s what people do when they want to see the President. If thunderstorms and rain will stop you, then that’s the very definition of “Fair weather support”.
I ‘m in Cleveland. It rained/thundered for about an hour. It poured for about 15 minutes. I was in and out of the house pretty much throughout the entire thing. Sun’s out now.
LOL about Romney’s crowd. Another topic: Earlier today I called my TN senators for two reasons: Belated “thank you” for voting FOR the VAWA; and, asked that they continue the vote for country before Republican party in their vote regarding student loans.
Fired up! ready to go!!!!
congrats on first on this fine morning
Morning TBO, morning everyone 😉
WOW!
POTUS and FLOTUS. What a great weekend. The only thing which would have made it better is if I would have been able to be there.
Team Barack Obama ?
Is this for real ?
I think it’s PBO himself amk, it was only a matter of time before he started hanging out with us!
LOL. That’s too bad for the bad gals here. 😉
Can you imagine amk? I’d have to put everyone but you, Yardarm and Japa on pending until he left.
yeah right, we men are the real villains here.
🙂
So cordial of amk to admit that, right, Chips? Good morning!
He’s a true gentleman Jacqueline! Morning 😉
I’m here very day, too. I kinda keep a low profile, I know.
YOU GIRLS HAD BETTER BEWARE OF THE SLIPPERY SLIDE ON THOSE NAUGHTY MATTTTTTS….LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
It’s @TeamBarackObama on twitter. We follow each other, lol!
I knew it. Welcome to TOD. Are you in any way associated with the campaign ?
Thank you! I’m just a supporter that shares info and retweets from other supporters!
There’s no such thing as “just” a supporter here! We’re all Barack Obama’s team, even though you claimed the name before us, lucky you! Morning!
Good Morning TOD family. Excellent ad. Feel good ad
Congratulations on being first,Team Obama. Sounds just fine to me.
Morning all
I love the last line of the ad, “you don’t quit and neither does he” and I love the focus on the middle class worked. Like a fool, it brought tears to my eyes.
I love that ad to jackiegrumbacher, just love it.
Love the blue of MO drees to match the signs. Fired Up.
Ron Wyden is an idiot!
Yes, we know. 🙂
Good early morning everyone. I absolutely love this ad. It is simple, positive and on point.
Unbelievable! Wyden is on Morning Troll, pushing the Wyden/Ryan plan!
Omg!
What in the world is wrong with Wyden? Does he want to get re-elected?
I mean, this is a Karl Rove ad, waiting to happen!
And he is buddying up with Scarborough.
SMH!
The Stupid Wyden/Ryan plan ain’t going anywhere but in the trash, so it’s a waste of his time.
Maybe Wyden want to be a Republican.

Another non story pushed by the Rt-wing media, to embarrass the President.
Seems like every week we have at least one of these!
I stopped watching the day he trashed Elizabeth Warren .
Thanks for this Chips. I’ve been on a high since the weekend…..PBO’s rallies, Chelsea winning the FA Cup Final, watching Pride and Prejudice for the millionth time and now this TV Ad. Woohoooooo….. I’m tweeting the heck out of it!
UT, my Monday was going fine until you reminded me of football. 😥
Well, barca’s messi score his 50th goal of the season. Again, barca’s….
As soon as I read that part of UTAL’s greeting I felt your pain C,….BEFORE seeing your response. I recognized it for what it was.
Good morning, TODville. Very best wishes to TODers facing life transitions! Change is good.
FYI, Geithner’s shop has put out a new set of charts:

Don’t forget to sign up to volunteer for PBO.
http://www.barackobama.com/index.php
Do what you can to support our POTUS: phonebanking, registering people to vote, tabling at street fairs, hosting an event to connect with your neighbors, volunteering at OFA events, etc., etc., etc. Meet AWESOME people!
Don’t forget; Donating. Very important too. 😀
OOOOpppps!! ut, I sat here staring at that post for a couple of minutes knowing I’d forgotten something but I just couldn’t think of it. DUH. Thanks for the assist. LOLz.
Good morning, sweet meta!
Hey, buddy! How ya doin’? Spring is in full bloom here on the Left Coast.
Morning! Great charts, meta!! Slams all their talking points about the growth of the Fed govt and regulations:) Thanks for posting!
But, but, but Coward Fineman and Jake Yapper told me that President Obama is not running on his record! How could this be?!?!?
They are pushing politicos battleground poll with Robnry up 1!
And Robnry has a ten point lead on indes.
I don’t believe it.
But, if it is true, it is because of the Media, non stop, pounding the President everyday.
There is no such thing as an ” indie “…
Slang or Vernacular for independent!
When I see an ” I ” next to a Presidential candidates name….I will believe it….
jovie141, did you say GOPoliticos poll?
It’s time to stop ignoring the polls, we have seen this movie before thr R wing would like us to believe
their bullshit. Let’s us concentrate on the ground we this is our game, if we continue watching the polls
we are going to go nuts, so let’s stay calm shall we?
Don’t Fineman work for that Huff Puff woman? Enough said, as far as I am concern.
Yep. He became a loser for me, even before his current “choice” assignment.
Good morning Chips, TOD, lurkers, everyone and congratulations Team Obama on #1!!
um, WHITE WOMEN are counted as a MINORITY….HENCE, them being the biggest beneficiaries of AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.
……………………………..
Warren’s alleged minority status afforded her advantages to which she would not otherwise have been entitled.”
http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entries/ma-gop-calls-for-harvard-investigation-of-warrens

Exactly. Why more people don’t know this is truly baffling to me.
I don’t get why many don’t understand this either.
Yes, you made perfect sense. 🙂
It’s a first! 🙂
I think anybody who hasn’t had the right to vote in this country since its founding is entitled to a minority status. But, that’s just me.
Good point.
You do know that includes many who are considered white now, right? In the 20th century, Greeks, Turks, Slavs, to name a few, all sued to have the right of citizenship/to vote.
Thanks for the summary JB. And you’re so right about the purpose: distract, distract, distract.
You nailed it, JO’B. Same was true for institutional hiring/admissions in my state.
Good morning all.
Congrats on 1st Team Barack Obama!
Goooooooooooood Morning….Chipsssssss…..Gooood Morning TOD…
Fireddddddddddddd UP…Ready to Gooooooooo!!
Fannie Lou Hammer, LOL. Born in this mess!
Oil is down to 97 bucks, a drop of more than 6% over the week!
It’s obamas fault!
😆 Excellent news Jovie!
And not a peep from the media. Oh but when it was going up, they got their marching orders from Koch!
It’s because the media is trying to make this election, all about the President.
EXACTLY….YOU SAID IT ALL JOVIE!
They really o ly report what Repubs tell them to report. There is zero independent journalism from msm.
Just copied and twitted this Jovie, thanks!
I saw that. Those rallies really scared the hell out of them.
I think it’s also a stick in the eye to the media – who said he would not run on his record.
It’s reverse Psychology!
“Forward” is a really good ad.
Great slogan.
I’m so goddamn fired up this morning!
Jovie you’re right.
Tweet this to Ben Labolt?
So these hostage takers are demanding that President Obama stop blowing their asses up, how odd.
Ain’t that some Shit?
Also, why is an American/Jewish Man doing in Pakistan, on Humanitarian Work?
He was just asking for it. Just saying!
There are good, brave people of all backgrounds all around the globe, helping others (otherwise, conditions would be even worse), so we can’t really cast aspersions on ’em. My take.
Aspersions??? Wrong word! How about common sense?
Yes, I see your point, but, we’re blaming the victim, methinks, if we’re saying humanitarian workers don’t have common sense if they are in certain areas, and if they did, they’d stay home. I know you know there are all kinds of people doing humanitarian work, including our own military, around the globe, often in dangerous areas. I wouldn’t, and maybe you wouldn’t, but they risk it for a higher purpose of their choosing.
I just know, from a military standpoint, I would nit be inside Pakistan without my M-4 and eyes in the Sky.
But, I also see your point!

Snark Knoller is now officially my fave tweeter. Love the Snark!
Mine too.
Did you see the cap he’s wearing? LOL
Red sky in the morning! I have pondered the idea that amk, yardarm and japa might be the only bloggers left on the site, if what was said unthread is true. Pondering the implications, how would that change the world for many of us? Yikes.
Sources, yeah, I got a source, it’s called my asshole. And every time I need information, that’s where I get it from.

are you better off? Here’s my answer, If the Tea- Republicans had work with the President, instead of plotting against him, things would be better. But we are heading in the right direction, thanks to President Obama.
Likes this alot….great answer!
From ThinkProgress:
The House returns from recess this week, and the GOP plans to introduce a budget bill that cuts $380 billion, mostly from social programs in order to protect military budgets. The programs that are on the GOP’s chopping block include food stamps, child tax credits and Medicaid — three programs essential to those living in poverty. The bill is an effort to staunch the automatic spending cuts that were put in place as a part of the debt ceiling deal last summer.
They’re at it again! Surprise! Call them out!
They think our President would sign it ?
Ha…they are comedians..
Yet, no word from Tavis and Cornell?
Ya think?!
The gender gap between President Obama’s supporters and Mitt Romney’s is growing., according to a new USA Today/Gallup poll of swing states. There is a 20-point gap between presidential preferences of men and women, up from 12 percentage points in February, the poll shows.

You see? And, you will find the same in the USA today Gallup fake poll!
really appreciate you folks that dive into the internals to blow up their obvious manipulations.
This has to be retweeted and retweeted and retweeted to the WH press corps. God I admit I didn’t think the dishonesty and manipulation would get this worse.

Thanks. Got some big plans for her. Build a decent hospital in my rural town and soak the rich to treat the poor. Let’s see.
Congrats!!!
Good Grief…..
Clearly, GOPolitico’s sample is grossly skewed in Willard’s favor. And they are so stupid – they think people won’t find out!!

Somewhat! Some of it is an excuse, to skew polls even more!

The Twilight Zone is having an all Day Marathon, on Sy-Fy Channel.
If I watch it, can you assure me that one of these episodes will be about Robney?
You’re kidding, oh well, there goes another day of productivity.
Yes! Kidding! I am putting in a new Patio in back Porch. Mixing cement is no easy chore!

Okay guys, cheer me up. My 62nd birthday today and I’m feeling ancient.
Happy Birthday…mine is tomorrow….I will be 65….and on Medicare.
Don’t feel sad….I grabbed my SS at 62 and still work.
And happy birthday tomorrow!
Happy Birthday, tomorrow, Linda!
Happy Birthday, tomorrow, Linda! (A fellow Taurus – mine was last week Monday and I’m still celebrating…) 🙂
Happppy Birthday…………………………You aren’t Ancient just gaining more Experience………Have a Wonderful day!
Happy Birthday. Didn’t you know the 60s are the new 40s?, so, really you’re just 42 today 🙂
Oooooo Betsey, I like that!
Have a lovely day 57.. er should we call you 62 now? 🙂 Happiest of Birthday wishes to you!
I first discovered political blogs in 2007, hence 57and Female. Thought about changing it every year but decided that I would keep my “blogging rebirth ” in terms of political activism.
Happy B-Day to you and an early B-Day wish to Linda. So glad we can share in your celebration here on the blog. May we all live to be 100.
thanks!
Honey, I’ll be a luciferous 66 in October, so I’m lookin’ on you as a baby. Cheer up! Happy Birthday!
In 2008, my birthday was the day that PBO clinched the nomination. One of my happiest birthdays ever!
Happy Birthday! Wow, have a great day, right behind you……1952 was a good year also!
Happy birthday 42andfemale!!! 🙂 🙂
62 is the new 42 – you should be well aware! My great aunt turns 103 this July and she feels like quite the youngster.
Amazing!
Happy Birthday 57!!!! 62 is a great age! I love middle age. 60’s is the new 40’s you know. We will live forever! Have a great day!!!!

Late…but still wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY and may you have many more!!!!
Enjoy.
Good Morning Everyone
It is good to be back.
Virtual Hugs to everyone.
This is why we fight!
YES.
Thanks desertflower, this plac is such a refuge, I am grateful to you all.
And we are grateful to YOU for all your important info….we’re here for you. You know that…
WiW, all the hard work you have contributed to us and our campaign is immeasurable. Please know that you are immensely appreciated.
What I meant was I’m glad your D is covered by your insurance policy.
You and your daughter have our love, support, prayers and positive energy. Be strong and when you need a virtual hug, we’re here for you.
My youngest brother was diagnosed a few years ago. The early treatment can be rough until doctors sort out the medication regimen but once that’s determined, everything gets much, much better. Thank goodness for the detection and your health insurance. Please take good care. {{{{hugs}}}}
{{{{{{{{{WIW&daughter}}}}}}}}}}}
Linda hugs and hopes for the best go out to you and your daughter. Very happy indeed to hear that she’s able to get the treatment that she needs through Obamacare.
WiW our thoughts and prayers are with you!!!! Know that all of us here are here supporting you and your family!
I was just asking about you yesterday! Good to see you back. And now I know why I kept getting your blog posts. Very clever. Sorry to hear about your daughter; thrilled she’s covered.
Good to see you, WIW! Missed ya. Sending vibes of wellness to you and your daughter. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Linda. We support you and your family. I can relate to your situation. Everything works out with support that is never ending.
Thanks to everyone who shared words of encouragement and support. The spirit of this blog is just amazing, Chips we are all very grateful.
Another Obamacare success! Best to you and your daughter!
62, please, my great great great grandmother has socks older than you.
So does my husband unless I buy him new ones.
Seriously? I can’t make a pair of socks last more than a few weeks. Cheap crap from China.

Smart choice…good for them!
This was part of meta’s charts that were posted earlier…hard to escape the FACTS! Will Teapartiers vote for PBO???
http://andrewsullivan.thedailybeast.com/2012/05/big-government-obama.html
No administration has reduced aggregate government spending as a precentage of GDP as much as Obama’s in forty years. If you look at the full chart, back to George HW Bush, you reach an inescapable conclusion: the biggest spenders and borrowers are Republicans and the most fiscally conservative presidents have been Democrats. Given the last two decades, the Tea Party, if they really want to shrink government, should be voting for Obama.
And this “fiscal conservative” mantra of the Republicans is THE biggest sham in history!!
Awesome! Thanks, df.
Thank YOU!!

I just tweeted this to Messina, Axelrod, LaBolt and Smith. Something must be done about this travesty.
OMG, this is INSANE.
They also tried to get a law of the books and on to the Ballot by getting 200k signatures on a petition, but when it was presented the review board for inspection the 2 repubs on the board said the font on the header was too small, so the petition was rejected.
I think they are appealing that, right ?
Many thanks to Creole Child who sent me all these links, she is going into her finals soon, lets all send her good thoughts so she can be her “brilliant” self and ace all her exams.
Done!!!
Mah-vellus Monday, y’all! 😆

I wonder if Amanda regrets leaving Think Progress for the Dark Side yet….
They are:
Jacqueline Nguyen to be United States circuit judge for the 9th Circuit;

FRANKLY…CHUCK TODD IS PLAYING ON IT HEAVILY TODAY!
B-I-N-G-O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have no doubt the WH knew this was going to be the msm’s talking point for the week, that’s why Biden and Duncan were prpared with answers.
I actually see it as a well-coordinated move by the campaign for some big announcement from PBO. Just watch.
Good point, I wouldn’t be surprised if marriage equality is added to the Dem platform for the election. It would also be a good reminder to LGBT voters to get the gop out of congress.
WILL WAIT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS HERE ON THIS ONE!
He draws huge crowds in Europe, he will never survive on the world stage;
he’s supported by performing industry, he’s a rock star president (as if that’s bad);
he speaks in whole sentences, he’s an affirmative action liberal elite with an ivy league education;
he promotes womens’ issues, women hate him;
he gets BinLaden, credit Bush & Co;
Tavis Smiley said something stupid, he’s lost the AA vote;
young ppl are joining his campaign, older people won’t vote for him;
he fills stadiums with rearing to go college students, yet they have lost all enthusiasm;
he enacts major legislation with total, 100% GOPTeaparty obstruction and he’s not going to run on his record;
the sky is falling and I still don’t have my magic rainbow unicorn;
Well said!
Ford Cuts Global Waste by 100 Million Pounds and Counting
http://www.whatisworking.com/2012/05/ford-cuts-global-waste-by-100-million.html
WOW! amazing
Romney should be made to answer. Remember, nothing comes out of the WH that isn’t scripted.
I know this seems timed. I guess they got a trick up there sleeve.

Maybe we should flood pundit/media inboxes, phonelines, twitter, et al with the question Where does Romney stand on the issue?

Change the narrative! We DO have choices. Sit and complain how the media is controlling our thoughts and dialog or get right in their faces about it. Those are just 2 of many options that come to mind, but there are others.
A School Garden Raises Science Test Scores
http://www.whatisworking.com/2012/05/school-garden-raises-science-test.html
A story that’s close to my heart.
Make sure you watch Martin Bashir, too! He’s fantastic. Welcome!!
Thanks, Theo. I do like Martin and watch whenever I’m home.

I left a comment on Huff Puff, and I told them I agree with Mr. Barkley 100%.
Jovie, you and ut wrote the exact same comment????

LOL! Jovie is cutting and pasting this morning I see 🙂
I cannot click on a Huffpo link. I just can’t.
Whitehouse.gov….
Hey HF2 This is the chart you’re looking for. I also sent it to you on twitter.

Tweeted.
It happened last week and it’s an ugly shame that this didn’t get more press. We need to keep this on the front burner as one more piece of evidence in a stack of a million other pieces that Romney is absolutely and incontrovertibly TONE DEAF and never acts in the interests of AMERICA.
Thanks Meta! I’m sharing this link.
meta,There Mitt out sourcing jobs again.
I don’t recall seeing this article posted here before: http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/magazine/mayjune_2012/features/the_anchor037149.php It’s about how the GOP has problems getting the support of the main anchor for Univision.
This is the kind of stuff they consider breaking news.
good morning TODville;
everyone have a nice day
Go, Tammy!
But fun!
That must have been so great for you to see. Save it so grandson can check himself out years from now.
Romney can’t get a crowd for his Ohio – media immediately latches on to convenient “weather” excuse…
Yeah – Romney’s the factor, not the weather.
I recall seeing pictures of people camping out under plastic sheeting waiting in long lines in the cold recently. That’s what people do when they want to see the President. If thunderstorms and rain will stop you, then that’s the very definition of “Fair weather support”.
EXACTLY!!!
Is that the 460 seat venue ?
Have anyone heard from Chuckie Todd yet? Have Todd been counting the seats?
I ‘m in Cleveland. It rained/thundered for about an hour. It poured for about 15 minutes. I was in and out of the house pretty much throughout the entire thing. Sun’s out now.
Pul-eze!

Thank you Jax. Anyone could see through Jarrett’s BS.
LOL about Romney’s crowd. Another topic: Earlier today I called my TN senators for two reasons: Belated “thank you” for voting FOR the VAWA; and, asked that they continue the vote for country before Republican party in their vote regarding student loans.
