The knuckleheads @ FOX NOISE & its ECHO CHAMBER can distort all they want. Once the people see it they will have to admit America is moving forward not backwards to 1952 or the “Guilded Age”. Like President Obama says don’t vote against the working people. Just ask Gov Scott Walker who is struggling with his recall in Wisconsin.

A question I posted from the last thread: How is it not treason when congressional leaders meet to plot and bring down a president thus the USA when there are two wars, and the country is undergoing economic and financial collapse? Please, someone tell me??

  8. April 30, 2012 at 7:16 am

Imagine how much farther ahead we would be if the Republicans had cooperated even a little bit. The first part of this video shows how traitorous they were to the American people by refusing to cooperate at all with the new administration. And I see I’m not first-the site was acting wonky on my computer.

I’m talking to folks like, PFWHI, M1, OMF, Cheryl, Elle, Chips…..! Never mind that I wake up every two hours or so. I NEVER use an alarm! I am one of those who has to wake naturally otherwise I pay with a headache that lasts for hours. Of course the end result is that I’m more awake than asleep when i should be sleeping, so I’m almost always tired. …Come to think of it, amk, a kick-butt alarm might be the very thing if it doesn’t come with sound. It’s the jarring sound that would do me in. Hmmm…..

  15. April 30, 2012 at 7:37 am

MCLEAN, Virginia (Reuters) – Former President Bill Clinton gave a rousing endorsement of fellow Democrat Barack Obama in his first 2012 campaign appearance with the president on Sunday night, and helped him raise more than $2 million.

A white-haired and svelte Clinton, 65, pounded the podium and pointed at the crowd while addressing about 500 Obama supporters outside the Virginia home of his friend and Democratic adviser Terry McAuliffe.

“I think he’s done a good job,” he told the crowd in his signature raspy voice, warmly introducing the man who beat his wife, Hillary Clinton, to win the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination and then made her secretary of state. “We are going the right direction under President Obama’s leadership.”

It is a repudiation of the Republican Party obstruction, lies and distortions. Just imagine the number of Americans who will see this video and say ‘GEE, I DIDN’T KNOW PRESIDENT OBAMA DID THAT”. Too many Americans are clueless about President Obama’s accomplishments because the MSM spends their time carrying water for and being intimidated by the GOP. But that is about to change big time. Why are Democrats so afraid of Condi?

      1. Condi is not running – she said she’s not interested. Bush is her husband and she’s not prepared to cheat on him with Willard.
      2. Dems aren’t afraid of her, and AA/women would not vote for her.
      3. Karl Rove would never put Condi on the ticket when Romney’s only shot at winning is to stoke racial fears against PBO.

I am back from Googleland. Yes she did say that at a dinner party in DC. Then the wife left and went to the Mayflower hotel where her SS agents were seen. And, that’s the reason why Miss Condi was always out of the country. The wife insisted on that. Where there is a hint of a rumor something is always there. I used to read the rags in my younger days and found that to be true.

And she’s said no in the most forceful terms, as if she’d rather shoot herself than be the candidate. She almost screamed “no!” the last time she was asked. And you’re right, her loyalty was to W, for some reason, and she loves her much calmer life at Stanford.

I don’t think Condi would play well in PA and Ohio or any rustbelt state. Fairly or not, she has an “elitist” air about her that does nothing to soften the Rombot. Joe Biden is the working guy or gal’s VP. He speaks everybody’s language, relates easily to people of all walks of life and is a ball of energy that excites people. As smart as Condi is, Biden would make mincemeat out of her in a debate. She’s never had to campaign for office and it isn’t a talent you can learn on the job. Biden can dish it out and he can take it. Condi’s never had that kind of challenge. And think of how many anti-women tropes Condi would have to swallow to run with the Bot. She’s a Republican, but she never struck me as a Tea Party loony. That would be a whole lot of soul-selling on her part.

Condi will not run because she does not want to be subjected to questions about her role in the Iraq war. She strikes me as someone who would not be able to take the digging into her private life that would be sure to follow. She found out that she wasa 40% white last night on PBS. To white America she is black. No matter her success she will not appeal to the southern whites. And Rush woud have a field day with her, calling her all kinds of names althjough she is GOP.

        April 30, 2012 at 6:21 pm

Condeleeza Rice is an intelligent woman who is more than qualified to run as a VP pick. I wouldn’t say she has an elitist air about her, I think she is just a private person. Condi would certainly hold her own with VP Biden and although Condoleeza may not have run a campaign for office, she certainly had serious challenges in her past that she overcame. I respect her for that.

That said, I do not for one minute believe Condeleeza would not lower herself to be on Romney’s ticket. I agree that she would be intolerant of an anti-woman agenda and she would not subscribe to a tea-party mentality.

Besides all that, I think Condi voted for PO in 2008 and she will do it again in 2012. Just like Colin Powell who I think did the same (vote PO).

Watching Robert Draper on C-SPAN Washington Journal the author of “Do Not Ask What Good We Do” which exposed the GOP’s plan on inauguration night to basically obstruct everything Pres. Obama tried to do. They had already decided before Jan. 20th, 2009 that they were going to do everything within their power to derail an Obama Presidency.

He’s very interesting to listen to. Points out how the teaparty freshmen came in, emasculated Boehner, and dragged the party so far to the right that other members of congress on the right and left were left shocked at how divisive the group became. He points out how weak Boehner is and how Boehner can’t even punish the teabaggers for being so pig headed. He also talks about Cantor rallying the teabaggers in a potential mutiny against Boehner during the debt ceiling debate. Very enlightening and frightening stuff about these band of republicans. Point blank; they’re insane and we cannot; we must not let them win in November.

I was a bit disappointed when he said that the House Democrats were initially angry with PBO because they felt he was “giving away the store” to the GOP. I’m thinking of all people, the house Dems should have known better – unlike them who are only appealing to their narrow districts, the President is governing a country and also had to deal with the senate where he had an extremely marginal majority filled with Blue Dog Senators like Blanche Lincoln and Landrieu.

I’m thinking it must have been a select few house Dems who were angry and we always saw them on TEEVEE (E.g., Anthony Weiner, Alan Grayson and Dennis Kucinich!) Interestingly, the first two are no longer in office, and the third just got primaried! Hmm…

      • April 30, 2012 at 9:06 am

And the prob with Draper and his book is that he “embedded” with mostly repubs (almost all, in fact) and the few Dem “deep thoughts” came from those who were critical of PBO, such as Eldridge Cleaver and the CBC. Other than revealing the inauguration day “coup” meeting, the majority of the book seems to represent (haven’t read) opinions from those opposed to Obama, doesn’t seem to be a comprehensive overview.
And some of the callers to c span——yikes! Low information voters indeed. Clueless beyond belief. Must get every speck of their news from Rush and FOX. They are damaged. Wow.

Boehner is weak. Seriously weak. During GOP freshmen orientation, 83 out of 87 teabaggers had already decided to vote against raising the debt ceiling. Even after they were educated about the ramifications to the country, the economy, and the global market, they were fine with it as long as Pres. Obama was screwed over. What did Boehner do? He went into his office, smoked several cigarettes, and shrugged his shoulders. Who the hell does that? Draper’s book is good and his appearance on C-SPAN Washington Journal is enlightening and frightening.

Here’s a question, What would Nancy Pelosi have done? She would have got the job done, like a real Speaker should have. We all know that Boehner is afraid of Canter and the tea party members. But I want all those who didn’t think it was worth the effort to go vote in 2010 remember who help put Boehner and those do nothing radical hateful Republicans in charge in 2010. And let’s not forget all those who wanted to send the President and Democrats a message because things were not improving fast enough, or they weren’t getting the things they wanted done done. If we all had look at the big picture and keep the House along with the Senate in control of the Democrats this economy would be further along. What did those people gain by sending those messages in 2010?

Does anyone know why the 2009 Dems did not focus on both jobs and healthcare? I know the stimulus did address jobs, states keeping teachers, fire fighters, police employeed, state shovel ready jobs etc., but more emphasis on getting businesses to hire people. I know that President Obama and the DEMs were working their butts off to prevent another depression which they did but like someone mentioned, most of the american people just don’t know how close we were to a collapse. That is why I don’t get Howard Fineman’s anti-Obama diggs, he was the one person who keeps saying how PBO prevented another Depression yet he seems against whatever the president does.

There was never a chance for bipartisanship. The wave of Tea Party members were not fit to be government officials. Most of them didn’t understand basic economics. It’s remarkable that the GOP had to bring in a former treasury official to explain to the freshmen the impact of the debt limit debate. Meanwhile, they took their oath of office and immediately took another pledge to Grover Norquist to never raise taxes.

If women don’t come on board they are just stupid. That should be the slogan “GOP says there’s no war on women, you obviously think we’re stupd”

Diane Keaton was just on Today praising Obama, said she doesn’t understand how anyone could not love him, he’s so charming etc. Lauer asked if she had met him. She said she had never mingled with him, but she would LOVE to mingle with him. (I think we can relate)

    From TP:

Field workers for President Obama’s reelection campaign are working to train volunteers on new voter identification laws in states like Wisconsin, Florida, and Ohio. Although Democratic groups have challenged several of these laws for contributing to a partisan effort to prevent the turnout of minority voters, Obama’s campaign officials say they are organizing around the assumption that the laws will be in full effect in November, just in case.

The Obama machine is in full “Mad Max” mode, they are kicking ass and taking names. They have totally bypasssed the mainstream media and are taking the message straight to the people. You all should have heard “Morose Joe” this morning trying to make fun of President Obama’s “Forward” campaign theme. This entire week should be heaven for Team Obama, can’t wait until Saturday for the campaign kickoff.

Whiners. I notice a different tone to PBO’s campaign, and I like it. I like it A LOT! He has every right to run on his accomplishments, and he’s not being shy. I like the “in your face” facts. Wonderful. powerful, truthful.

Exactly Don, that FORWARD campaign ad will blow a huge hole in the media firewall. That’s why Joe is whining and crying like a baby. That’s the Republican Party for ya they can’t question the facts so they make outlandish claims and resort to personal attacks. While President Obama was governing, they were obstructing. They got nothin and they know it and so do more and more Americans.

    This is how they roll…http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/04/29/fresh-debt-scandal-rocks-minnesota-republican-party/

The financial troubles of the Republican Park of Minnesota first came to light a week ago, when it was reported that the party had been served with an eviction notice after failing to pay $111,000 in rent at its St. Paul headquarters over the past year.

Now it seems as though the debt problem may go even deeper than initially realized, with state regulators and a watchdog group investigating whether a fake company was created to keep additional debt stemming from the 2010 gubernatorial recount off the party’s books.

The potential scandal came to light this winter, when a man named George Fraley received a certified letter from a Republican attorney, addressing him as the CEO of a company called Count them All Property Inc. and billing him for over $219,000 in legal fees.

According to the Star Tribune, Fraley had no connections to the Republican Party, had never heard of the company, and had no idea how he had come to be listed as its CEO.

Regulators have since determined that “in the last two years, Count Them All Properly has listed two CEOs, both of whom say they have never heard of the company. Count Them All Properly has no corporate office, no phone number and no website. It does, however, have roughly $500,000 in debt, mostly to recount lawyers.”

Both Daniel Puhl, a former RNC administrator who incorporated the company in December 2010, and Mary Igo, a long-time GOP activist who has been listed as CEO since Fraley’s name was removed, deny knowing anything about the company’s peculiar history.

“It is legitimate,” Igo claims “It was not a hiding opportunity for debt.”

Igo acknowledges that she was asked to head Count Them All Properly when it was initially created but will not say who recruited her or who is currently on the board of directors.

    Lie, cheat, steal party.

Sounds like the MN GOP is taking lessons from ENRON, just create a bunch of businesses to hide your debt. If you have not seen “The Smartest Guy In The Room”, it’s a must see on how corrupt this company was during the Bush Administration with the blessing of Dick-head Cheney.

  63. April 30, 2012 at 10:05 am

Let’s just say it: The Republicans are the problem.

Rep. Allen West, a Florida Republican, was recently captured on video asserting that there are “78 to 81” Democrats in Congress who are members of the Communist Party. Of course, it’s not unusual for some renegade lawmaker from either side of the aisle to say something outrageous. What made West’s comment — right out of the McCarthyite playbook of the 1950s — so striking was the almost complete lack of condemnation from Republican congressional leaders or other major party figures, including the remaining presidential candidates.

It’s not that the GOP leadership agrees with West; it is that such extreme remarks and views are now taken for granted.

I learned my lesson yesterday, I’m not sure what was the diary about but there was a link to DK….it’s the only time I go there, if I see a link on TOD or Twitter….soooo…I read the diary and looked at the others on the REC list.

So I read another diary, (I think it’s the one that you just posted) the title was positive, the article was positive anyway….but then I started to read the comments.

Some were good but some were vile….One is particular who called PO insane……the Greenwald/FDL minions are back in force over there.

I will never read the comments over there again….it upsets me for nothing.

I’ll only read an article if the link is from TOD and that’s it….no more of that…Marcos made his choice, it’s open house for these losers….the hell with that place.

      • April 30, 2012 at 10:32 am

Hi ChristiMTL, my heart goes out to the good people still trying to battle away at DK, and there are plenty of them. But they still seem to be swamped by the Firebaggers, who get more bitter with every passing day. Ugly people.

Hey, TOD family. I am so stoked and fired up by the Forward video and campaign. The media and GOP have been caught flat footed. They don’t know what the hell to say so they are doing their best to ignore it. What idiots. The American people won’t ignore it. I love how POTUS showcased the GOP and their obstructionism. The words came from their own mouths. Ha.

What a great video to come home to; PBO’s greatest hits.
There are even more under-the-radar, out-reach initiatives that affect every group directly or indirectly. Furthermore, the various agencies and departments are working more effectively (FEMA and the Interior dept, just love Salazar, are two major standouts). Too bad we have to wait until November, 6 months of outrageous lies and foolishness to wade through.
Just got home; off to read the comments and catch-up on all of the goodies.
