Long time lurker who loves the site/blog…
I have my DVR set to record/note any instances of “Obama”, lol… and noticed that Auma Obama was on the Today Show this morning. Sorry if this has already been posted, but here is the link to the interview…. (I didn’t see it posted anywhere)

    O/T: McRaven at WHCD?
hey, did I see McRaven at the WHCD on saturday night? I could swear I saw a guy in the Navy brass uniform with all the medals. I thought it was him but I didn’t take a very good look. But I figured it was him cause I red an article that said that there is mutual respect between him and PBO and that PBO trusts him alot and has therefore given JSOC a lot of latitude in terms of jurisdiction and money, which I support 1000%

Good evening TOD family. Seems the President has been really busy today, so I have lots of catching up to do.

Long day for me; attended the homegoing celebration of one of the pillars of my community. I’m feeling a little melancholy because lately, it seems like I attend more homegoing celebrations than birthday celebrations. My maternal family has always been very small; and although we have five living generations, my mother is the last living member of the oldest generation; therefore, the neighbors in my small town are like extended family. Aside from my Mom, this gentleman was one of my biggest cheerleaders. He was an uncle/grandfather, mentor, advisor, and advocate all rolled into one; not only for me, but for everyone in my town. We are going to miss him.

Ask for prayers and positive energy for his family and our community. Thanks.

(NORTH BEND, Wash.) — Peter Keller spent eight years carving his hole in the side of the mountain, camouflaging the rugged underground bunker with ferns and sticks and stocking it with a generator and ammunition boxes sealed in Ziploc bags. Suspected in the deaths of his wife, daughter and pets last weekend, he headed there prepared for the long haul with high-powered rifles, scope and body armor.

Seattle-area tactical officers who slogged for hours over dangerously steep, muddy ground to find him were prepared too. They pumped in tear gas, called for him over bullhorns, and, after 22 hours, set off explosives along the top of the bunker Saturday.

There will be absolutely no “feeling bad” for Romney in November or before, by just about anybody. I, for one, if the weather’s nice, will be sitting in my backyard toasting marshmallows over the scorched entity that used to be his sorry-assed campaign for the presidency (as if).

      • 95 Liberal Librarian
        April 30, 2012 at 8:22 pm

And that’s the thing. Romney and his enablers will, no doubt, respond. But all they have to respond with are lies. PBO is going to do exactly what the GOP said he wouldn’t do, which is run on his record. And this isn’t the RW movement of Lee Atwater. Hell, it isn’t even the RW movement of Karl Rove. Obama is not Dukakis; Obama is not Kerry. PBO will eat them for lunch, and do it while minding his table manners.

I feel bad about being shallow (ok no I don’t) but, MICHELLE, MICHE, MO, GIRLFRIEND, please don’t let your man go out like Morgan Freeman.

It will not happen. Our First Lady knows her man and how she will make sure he does not leave the house looking “over the hill.”

I felt the same way Collegekay and Cha, when I was looking at that photo. I thought, oh look at the years we have put on this wonderful man. But in spite of it all, I do believe that he knows deep within that each grey hair is so special ,because each one stands for the care and compassion he has within his soul. He knows in a sacred way that he has and will stay true to his core., and in doing that he will gladly wear that head of greys graciously knowing that he has touched the world with the truth, courage, faith, hope, joy, and love of helping move his nation and the world into a “space of the better angels” of this world.HZ

How cool is it that I can show my son that we have stood right there, RIGHT THERE, in the green room, on our tours of the White House. It really is the people’s house. When we were there for the Christmas tours, they had replicas of Bo “hidden” in each room. Ison — you are giving your son opportunities and memories that will last a lifetime. Other than the “standard” WH tour and the Egg Roll, no modern President prior to POTUS & FLOTUS Obama have made events at the WH so accessible to “We, the People.” If you weren’t connected, you didn’t get into special events. Because of my job, I was able to get my kids a “front seat” to history, I was also able to get a bus-load of kids from my hometown into a few things; they remember and cherish those memories.

    re: Willard and Jimmy Carter

Didn’t we all just have a conversation about an interview that Jimmy Carter did in which he said he has no problem (I quote loosely) with a President Willard. Well, Jimmy, this is the thanks you get for your party-blindness (sorta like color-blindness except deals with party). Willard R.Money on okaying the OBL hit, “off course I would have done it, even Jimmy Carter would have said yes.” (not an exact quote)—–Note to Jimmy, that wasn’t a compliment, it was said with a derisive tone. You sleep with dogs, you wake up with fleas.

Source: Obama ads feature Swiss bank account
By ALEXANDER BURNS | 4/30/12 7:36 PM EDT
I reported a short while ago that the Obama campaign is going up with a fresh round of ads tomorrow in Ohio, Iowa and Virginia — three states where the president has been spending time in recent weeks.

But the plot thickens: one media-tracking source tells me the title of the new commercial is “Swiss Bank Account.”

An Obama spokesperson declined to confirm the content of the ads, but one would imagine the title’s a reference to Mitt Romney’s Swiss bank account, which he initially failed to report in disclosure forms, and over which Democrats have been criticizing him for months.

The Obama campaign has bought $458,883 in airtime so far in Ohio, $88,455 in Iowa and $72,845 in Virginia for ads running May 1 to May 7, a buyer source says.
