he does, he really is a natural.. and he’s so dang loveable when he’s telling his jokes. One thing to note, I feel , is that he pokes fun at himself as well as others. I’ve not laughed so hard in a very long time.

Pres. Obama tore the roof down. Even more than last year. Is there anything he can’t do?

    Answer: NO.

yep, there’s a big eerie problem. I was first, had the second comment, Africa had the 3rd comment, then it disappeared. I want a recount.

Dotster, Willard is so far “off” I really wonder if some synapse in his brain doesn’t connect. Maybe he can’t hear himself? Or, he never learned how natural people talk? Very weird.

Also the joke about 4 years ago he look like this, now he look lie this, and 4 years from now he will look like this, a picture of Morgan Freeman. POTUS did have some good lines. I have one degree from Harvard. Mitt has two, what a snob. Kimmel sorry to say, POTUS kick your butt. POTUS was better.

What I want to know is how many people here and in the room other than the urban press and Black conservatives and maybe a few young interns actually got the joke about “Young Jeezy”?

If ya didn’t here it is:

Young Jeezy – My President ft. Nas

  13. April 28, 2012 at 11:41 pm

When he did the first ‘dog-eating’ joke, you could tell the audience couldn’t believe he had gone there!

    • 35 anniebella
      April 28, 2012 at 11:54 pm

But POTUS could talk about Romney and his dog without talking about him as a kid tasting dog meat.

      • April 29, 2012 at 8:20 am

I don’t think he could have done one without the other. He had to joke about himself first, then no one could complain about him bringing up Seamus (Sorry if I’m misreading your comment).

It was brilliant and very smart : The Mit Rambo Robme wants it to be an issue, but it will not work.
To night my wife and I invited 6 of my neighbors for Diner and fine wine so we could watch The WHCD
mostly to watch PBO and everybody just love PBO and FLOTUS and at the end of the show, we celebrated
      with fine Chanpagne .

“Last year I smacked down the Donald.
Killed the most wanted man in the world.
        This year I eat dog!!
        Don’t mess with me!!!!
        Don’t mess with me!
You don’t know when the smack down will come.
But you know it will come.
Now if you’ll excuse me I have a country to run and a world to inspire.
        See ya later suckers!”

yep you were right the audience was stunned that he took this headon

      • 43 anniebella
        April 29, 2012 at 5:32 am

What some people don’t get, is if he didn’t want anyone to know about tasting dog meat, he would not have put it in his book. But what any person with any sense realize is that he was a child, he wasn’t a 36 year old man, like Mitt Romney was when he put his dog on top of his car.

      • April 29, 2012 at 8:18 am

It was the only way to do it. Show them he isn’t afraid of it and they can’t make it an issue (it was a stupid issue anyway). It was just great. And then he could go for Seamus-on-a-plane with impunity. Turned it right back at them. He must look forward to this night all year.

  14. April 28, 2012 at 11:43 pm

nitey nite all, time to get out of this ballgown and high heels. Let’s hope that picture of Mitt on the steps of AF! with the dog kennel strapped on top is the closest he gets to that airplane fer real.

PBO’s takedown of Arianna was a reflection on folks like Howard Fineman, Sam Stein and others who write nonstories on her site.

    • 49 lisalovesobama
      April 29, 2012 at 12:18 am

he was brutal to everybody and if he was brutal to my side I wince and grimaced but once he went after everyone else I laughed. It is what it is, a roast. I’m sure PBO wasn’t pleased with some of the characterization of him, but at the end, there were no hard feelings for him towards Jimmy. He gave him a high-five, shook his hands and talked to him for a few minutes before leaving. I re-watched it when C-span showed it again and I laughed more the second time than the first. he was pretty funny in my opinion, but i get what you’re saying.

See what you are saying, also, I am a tad bit touchy about anyone cracking on my beloved President. Yes in retrospect he did go after the others but I did not like the continued swipes at President Obama.

I thought Kimmell did fine. He did a hell-of-better job than Jay Leno. He was not edgey but edgey is severally over rated in my opinion.

  16. 52 sherijr
    April 28, 2012 at 11:44 pm

One thing I can say about Kimmel’s stuff, he was very aware.. whoever does his research, whether he or staff- he knew about the Fox “mole”.. and there was other jokes in there that were reliant on being pretty savvy & up to date on the political happenings.

Did you all read stupid Knoller’s tweet? Something along the lines that Pres Obama’s best joke was at the end, w/ the Secret Service joke. Does that guy have even a small brain cell?

Here’s Jason Easley’s take on WHCD..

<strong<"This was definitely not as controversial as George W. Bush’s skit where he looked for WMDs. However, beneath Obama’s light humor, we got a glimpse of the steel backbone of this president. The message in tonight’s comedy for Republicans was that if they thought that they were going to be able to roll over Barack Obama and take back the White House, they’ve got another thing coming.

President Obama is here, and he is ready for the fight. Even during a night of comedy for charity, Obama showed what he is made of, and this president isn’t going to back down from the 2012 election challenge."

I don’t know if she is but just because certain people invite you, doesn’t mean you have the same political ideation. Kim K isn’t a repug but she got invited but Greta so that married (in the closet) Greta can has fuel for her fantasies. But I hear tell Sofia’s boyfriend is a repuke. Go figure.

The audience got a big kick out of the the president’s swipe at Arianna Huff, there’s genuine disdain for that women, or should I say that snake.

Just think, if you’re a reporter who writes a story for Time magazine, HuffPuff can make money just by linking to the story you’ve written and doesn’t pay you one red cent for your hard work.

Or HuffPuff will quote paragraphs from your reporting, indicating it’s from Time magazine and in doing so avoiding the charge of plagiarizing, but still using your work without seeing fit to pay the writer.

She is loath in the business.

Here is the fake Sper PAC ad on Seamus-

Make it go viral, if you can cut it without the Hill website, cool?

  42. April 29, 2012 at 7:46 am

As he readies his war chest, Obama is scheduled to join former President Clinton on Sunday at Terry McAuliffe’s house in Northern Virginia for a fundraiser. The event is charging $1,000 per ticket and $25,000 to co-host. The afternoon money raiser will be the first that Clinton and Obama have ever held together, according to McAuliffe, a giant Democratic moneyman and the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
And on Monday Michelle Obama is holding a fundraiser in Tuscon, Arizona with the country musical band Calexico and charging $100 for young professionals, $500 to sponsor the event, and $10,000 to chair it.

I read a fascinating overview of WHCD yesterday, detailing the parties held prior to the dinner which is critiqued as being very little dinner & really cheap box wine with long boring speeches, exception usually POTUS. The writer, a journalist, said it used to be a cozy affair for real correspondents but Hollywood has infiltrated and game changed the event.

That said, I squirm to see the POTUS making lame jokes to a room full of pols, Hollywood types , oh yeah, and then correspondents. No begrudging his night for a roasting and Pres. Obama, as well as former Pres. Clinton, make the most of it.

I stayed through most of the video, long enough to enjoy WOOF PAC. That was cute.
