Thanks to all my shipmates for the birthday wishes. And Admiral Chips you’ve outdone yourself with that 3 masted schooner. It’s a truly handsome vessel. It gives meaning to the term “Setting Sail”. Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of Rhum! 😀
She has made a couPle of gaffes , like she said its our turn.
Everybody knows Robney would have to run a gaffe free, perfect Campaign to beat the President.
And that ain’t happening, he has to much baggage and is prone to making gaffes!
It’s more than just the “couple gaffes.” The cynical and politically-driven MSM attempt to portray Miss Ann as some sympathetic figure was seen for what it was by the majority of people – women in particular who are not as easily manipulated by the media.
You mean despite milking Hilary Rosen’s comments for all it was worth she’s still at 40%? With 30% not expressing an opinion or knowing who she is? Same as it was in the CNN poll? BWAHAHAHAHA welcome to wednesday. 😆
Yup…and I’m sure she was still milking that 12 day old story yesterday at her husband’s big speech- The one no network carried. I’m sorry you had MS and Breast Cancer, but some women have that AND no help. I know too many women going through too many things who still work- because they have to.
Don’t forget she said that she is happy women have to work. That’s a big one. She had a misspeak according to some but “what a man thinketh so is he.” I am looking forward to more gaffes and misspeak. This woman makes Sarah Moose look like Albert Einstein.
The Obama administration will push in the coming weeks and months the message that the war in Afghanistan is ending.
It’s a campaign pitch that will be trumpeted at next month’s NATO summit in Chicago, where international leaders are expected to sign off on an agreement with Afghanistan’s government that would establish a continued U.S. role in the country after security is handed over to local forces in 2014.
I set my DVR to tape Fallon last night so I still haven’t seen the slow jam yet. But just by reading all these wonderful comments I’m excited as ever. Now Mark Knoller is having a major meltdown on Twitter – he’s posting a series of nasty jealous tweets about PBO this morning. That tells me that our President did very well yesterday and last night, and all the Twitter trending topics related to PBO’s speeches and late-night appearance must have killed Mark. Neither he nor his wind-up puppet candidate Willard could ever relate to young people the way our President can, and he knows it!
The thing is, it’s not his Job to carry water for Tea Baggers, he is supposed to cover the WH!
I wonder how much it cost to go to Crawford Texas every fucking weekend?
and I see that Knoller, after twice tweeting that U. of Ia. is in Cedar Rapids, not Iowa City, finally was corrected by someone at CBS. I don’t get that. I can name state university towns across the country, plus the locations of most other well-known colleges. And I am not on any national presidential news crew who should be aware of the president’s destinations and have this basic knowledge. Dumber than a rock.
I read some comment where someone else were running their mouth about the taxpayers paying for FLOTUS and POTUS vacations. I commented back and told them, my tax dollars paid for Laura and G.W. Bush trips and vacations, and it paid for several other Presidents also. I wasn’t running my mouth everytime they went some where. And I don’t recall a lot of others running their mouth. Why just start to complain when the black couple get in the White House. Oh I forgot, they’re BLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And Knoller and the media is just trying to stir up something against the President, they see how well this trip is going, how the college kids are coming out showing their support. So now they want to find something to help Mitt Romney. If people like Knoller is going to talk about this President trips, then go back and let us know what the other Presidents spent on their trips. Get off his lazy ass and fine that out and tweet that.
What do you expect? Whenever the MSM sees PBO gaining in popularity and making Mitt look like the loser he is, the MSM feels it must counter with a negative story about PBO and/or a puff piece about Mitt. Its so common I have come to expect it. For example, when polls showed super strong support for PBO among women, the MSM created the Rosen fake controversy. I bet that when/if polls show PBO winning the Latino vote, the MSM will trot out “experts” saying that Latinos won’t vote for an African American candidate.
You notice they (MSM) are not talking about the price of the SS for the Presidential candidates that only suspended their campaign and refuse to totally cancell all campaigns. Newt still has a SS detail. it’s pretty damned spendy too.
For those of you who still have working accounts at Old Orange, please go tip/rec this lovely diary – on our President’s Fallon appearance and related stuff on student loans 🙂
It’s hard for me to do but I did it. I even tweeted it. Things do seem to be changing over there, but I don’t know that I will ever forgive them for what they did to BWD. I will do anything for this President!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY YARDARM! YES INDEED…PBO WAS AWESOME LAST NIGHT! HAVE TO RUN A HOMELESS ERRAND…WILL CATCH UP LATER…PLEASE PRAY FOR SUE’S BACK…MY TRANSMISSION IS ACTING UP HORRIBLY LATELY! BLESSINGS ALL!
GM, CK! ‘my crush on the President has increased x 100. I didn’t think that was possible.’
I don’t see how it could be possible either. I thought from your words and actions that your crush had already MAXED out! 😆 😆 😆 😆 The ‘scarey’ thing is that I know EXACTLY what you mean! 😉
Morning Ms Chips, and TODville, and have a WONDERFUL B-Day, Y. A.!!
HAHAHA! On GMA, they’re now interviewing the cast of “In Living Color” that hilarious politically incorrect comedy sketch show from the late ’80s and early ’90’s. I didn’t realize that one of the characters (one who played Cher) is now George Stephanopoulos’s wife!!! She wasn’t one of the regular cast but made some appearances!
Her name is Ali Wentworth. She’s an actress, author, and comedian. I know she grew up in a political family in D.C. and I believe Nixon kept files on her and her family. She’s also a liberal and doesn’t spare the GOP’s feelings especially this crazy crop when she talks about them. She’s hilarious.
Her web show (The Daily Shot) is pretty funny: http://shine.yahoo.com/dailyshot/ – it’s usually shot in her kitchen with the dogs sleeping nearby and George occasionally wandering thru.
Oooh yeah I remember Ali Wentworth.. she used to do the funny reporting on Oprah show before it went off air. i think she did a Dallas Cowboy cheer leading stint… it was so funny! 😆 didnt know she was married to George Stephanopoulos. She must make him laugh so much!
Last night, at the end of Mitt’s horrendous acceptance speech…he offered us this little gem….
“There was a time — not so long ago — when each of us could walk a little taller and stand a little straighter because we had a gift that no one else in the world shared. We were Americans.”
Let me tell you what would happen if there was a Republican incumbent president and a Democratic candidate said this: we’d spent the next several months talking about why the Democrat no longer believes Americans should take pride in their country. The candidate’s patriotism would be routinely questioned and he’d be asked repeatedly why he thinks it is no longer true the American people should hold their heads high.
And yet there was Mitt Romney, effectively arguing that the only way to have national pride is to give him power.
He and Ann think it’s their “turn now” . Not while I can still vote.
Give him power in his dreams. The man is so stiff I wonder if he sleeps standing up. I see he is going casual, wearing jeans and striped button down shirts. Still look stiff. I saw where they are saying he is ‘young.” I am the same age as him and he looks like my father.
Stephen Colbert is bloody brilliant….He went to town on Cardinal Dolan yesterday at the Time 100 gala.
Also, Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke is here tonight. Also an instant, instant feminist icon. Famously tested, testified before Congress, that Georgetown, a Catholic institution, should be required to provide insurance coverage for her birth control.
Now, TIME 100 honoree, his eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan disagrees — sir, lovely to see you again.
Of course, now some, some critics have said in response to this that if the Catholic church’s insurance does not cover Sandra Fluke’s birth control, it shouldn’t cover Cardinal Dolan’s Viagra.
Oh, no, no, no. Oh, no, no, no, that’s called celibacy plus. That’s how the pros do it. Because chastity is one thing, but it shows true commitment to uphold your vows when you are sporting a crook you could hang a lighter on. Oh, wow, see you at mass on Sunday, sir?
Snip
But perhaps the most influential person on the list is here, Sara Blakely. The inventor of the Spanx. Give it up.
No one, no one has done more to control women’s bodies, except maybe Cardinal Dolan.
Cardinal, congratulations, sir, you are a feminist icon.
Of course, all of us should be honored to be listed on the TIME 100 alongside the two men who will be slugging it out in the fall: President Obama, and the man who would defeat him, David Koch.
Give it up everybody. David Koch.
Little known fact — David, nice to see you again, sir.
Little known fact, David’s brother Charles Koch is actually even more influential. Charles pledged $40 million to defeat President Obama, David only $20 million. That’s kind of cheap, Dave.
Sure, he’s all for buying the elections, but when the bill for democracy comes up, Dave’s always in the men’s room. I’m sorry, I must have left Wisconsin in my other coat.
I was particularly excited to meet David Koch earlier tonight because I have a Super PAC, Colbert Super PAC, and I am — thank you, thank you — and I am happy to announce Mr. Koch has pledged $5 million to my Super PAC. And the great thing is, thanks to federal election law, there’s no way for you to ever know whether that’s a joke.
By the way, if David Koch likes his waiter tonight, he will be your next congressman.
Colbert is a treasure, single-handedly revealing truths, is the ONLY person on tv currently who has the courage to spill all the beans. News media is in failure mode.
The pundits are all over Mitt Romney like a cheap suit after he told another batch of lies last night. Apparently, the focus of attention is not on the validity of what he said, but how he said it.
Has Mitt Romney met Mitt Romney?
—————————–
The remarks were well received by most pundits — delivery and clever turns of phrase tend to earn plaudits, because honesty and policy coherence no longer matter — but watching the speech, I kept asking myself, “Has Mitt Romney met Mitt Romney?”
The presumptive GOP nominee went through a litany of predictable falsehoods, including the ridiculous lie that President Obama “apologized for America,” but just as important was the disconnect between Romney’s rhetoric and Romney’s stated agenda.
Oh my goodness. They watched Romney’s speech and were glad “he ain’t colored” Is that what that comment was referring to? Because if it is then oh my goodness, the hate of some people because of the color of a person’s skin – in this case Pres. Obama – is disgusting. They don’t dislike Pres. Obama because of his policies, his character, his actions, his accomplishments, they just don’t like because “he’s colored.” The cycle of hate.
I’m not terribly concerned- the Prez was the same color in 08 and he still won. I just hope these good “Christians” will learn the meaning of Christianity before they pass on.
Oh, I’m not in the least concerned and don’t plan to spend any time on this. It’s nothing new after all; the surface nature of both the comments just caught my eye is all. I mean we do surface observations here but WE have already ascertained there is a whole lot of substance to our candidate, so we can afford to IMO.
Oh most definitely–and we have to keep an eye out for falsehoods. I have always known that the groups that oppose the president ( white seniors and white southern middle aged men) did it more for race than anything else. I mean, the Ryan plan ends Medicare, and if they have a majority in the house/senate/presidency (shudders)—they could do almost anything. This man (the Prez) is saving you mucho dinero by eliminating the donut hole in your prescription pills, and yet all he his to you is colored. As I said, I hope they get saved before their time comes. I am beyond glad I grew up when children’s first thoughts on the president (other than Bo) is about how big his ears are.
utaustinliberal, how true, how true. Every person I talk to say the exact same thing, it’s because the President is black. They can’t stand a black man in the White House, unless he’s cooking or cleaning.
I can just imagine Archie sitting in his chair watching Mitt, with Edith standing beside/behind him. And Meathead (was that what he called the son-in-law watching on, appalled.
I’ve been offline all this time so missed this little dialogue. I personally THOUGHT, if legit, the commentor assigned those well-known names to his/her neighbours because their comments was a direct reflection of the TV characters’ personalities and thus readily identified the neighbours.
Morning folks! Awesome appearance by the President, he’s so damn likable, so comfortable. I can’t imagine Willard in any setting coming off so comfortable. Not even with his richie rich friends.
He’s been doing that regularly. Love it! Mitt was bookmarked by a couple of love-fests for Pres. Obama — and Pres. Obama being his BarackNess Monster-self!!
You won’t EVER ever hear this from the likes of MSNBC or anyone in the cable news MSM:
// In Connecticut, 33 percent of Republicans rejected Romney.
In Rhode Island, 37 percent of Republicans rejected Romney.
In New York, 40 percent of Republicans rejected Romney.
In Delaware, 43 percent of Republicans rejected Romney.
In Pennsylvania, 43 percent of Republicans rejected Romney. //
Don’t be jealous because Chelsea ROCKS! Amk. I’m sure whatever team you support SUCCCCCCCCCKS! Chelsea would kick their asses any day any time. Who’s going to the Champions League again? Who? Who? Oh yeah….that’s right…. it’s CHELSEA!!!!!
Premature celebrations. Typical blue. Still got to win it, remember ? And you still got the other spanish fly (hopefully) in your champagne to get rid off, before you get to drink it. 🙂
WASHINGTON — A Democratic super PAC backing President Barack Obama’s re-election and an environmental group are airing $1 million in advertising in Colorado and Nevada seeking to tie Mitt Romney to oil companies.
The ad by Priorities USA Action and the League of Conservation Voters Victory Fund casts the likely Republican presidential nominee as the “$200 million man,” accusing Romney of supporting oil industry profits and tax breaks. It asserts that Romney is “in the tank for big oil.”
Priorities USA Action is a super PAC founded by two former Obama White House aides. It has struggled in fundraising compared with Republican-leaning super PACs like American Crossroads and its nonprofit arm, Crossroads GPS, which have raised $100 million this election cycle.

Yardarm, Happy Birthday and have a great, great day. I’m taking the day off to celebrate both anniversary and upcoming birthday. See you all. Time to recharge worn out batteries.
Yep. The dizzy broad has no clue. Trying to show empathy and came off looking like a fool. Forget sympathy, she was in the back row when God was giving that out. Whew!
So…, that College Girl was making her rounds on Morning tv. You know, the one that allegedly spilled yogurt on POTUS.
She said, it was not me, it was the Paparazzi.
You see, she explains( in her College way, with and Like…), that the SS made her and friends put down on the ground her yogurt, as POTUS came close to her in the Ropeline.
And like, then, The President came close and like, OMG I touched him. And like I noticed something out of the corner of my eye that the President had to like wipe something off his Shoes.
And like, People started telling me the News told me it was me, and like I said no way, it was the Paparazzi, they knocked it over when the President got close…
And like…
On every channel… LOL!
Noticed that too—-one of the lead stories on the Today Show. Out of all the beautiful, key—-and hilarious– moments from President Obama’s appearances yesterday, our slipshod news media plucks this little ditty to feature—–yogurt parfait-gate. No wonder we have so many dummies in this country—–excuse me, I mean “low information” people.
First of all, she should be ashamed of herself for going on TV and sounding more like a Junior HS kid from Nickelodeon than a college student who should be more concerned about student loans, jobs, the economy right now, and how the President’s message resonates with her as a college student.
hopfruit2, 15 minutes of fame, or shame. The media isn’t worth sh*t. I could do better. They thought it was news worthy to dig this person up, come on folks.
I’d probably have sounded like a kindergartener if I had been close enough to spill yogurt on him. Actually, I would have been busy licking it off in the most effective way possible. #secretservicewouldhaveblushed
I saw her interviews, none of which she sought out, they came to her. She didn’t do any of the valley girl talk that I heard. Even PBO had fun with it. Why are we denigrating a young PBO voter on this site. She did nothing wrong and she handled herself very well. Check out the clips, she was as intelligent as anyone who’s been interviewed.
Actually I’m annoyed that this is news at all. I know why cute stuff like the baby whisperer makes the news but spilled yogurt on his pants? barely spilled at that.
College girl talking like that? For real? So she is famous now, huh? Thats all the nutty journalists got from the President’s visit? Bunch of ass*****.
Oh that was just fun & hysterical.. and POTUS drops the mic.. what a character our President is, he’s just so well rounded.. and that Jimmy Fallon is a cutie too. Loved the whole thing.
Morning! Happy Birthday, yardarm!!!! My favorite sailor on the webs:) (The real favorite is my husband, sorry!) Have a great day today…if you’re good, Chips will bake a special cake for you!
Fallon’s show was awesome! PBO has such a dry wit, and his comedic timing is impeccable! I loved the entire thing! How is it possible to love this man more and more everyday? I always think that I can’t possibly adore him more…then, BAM! I love him more.Amazing!
Great getting up day TODies, especially since it’s Yardman’s birthday!!! Well, I missed PBO on Kimmel last nite and won’t be able to watch the clips until this evening. From the comments, it looks like PBO must have thought I was watching. Oh well, I don’t mind if others enjoy his fine self when I’m not around.
CHIPSTICKS! you are a wonder, girl! Putting up all these incredible YouTube vids to start our day, ALL THE WHILE building this incredible vessel for YARDARM to take us all for a little cruise on his BIRTHDAY! Happy Hapy Burthday to you, Comnander! All Aboard! 😉
Chuck Todd is an asshole. GWB went on numerous campaign fundraisers during official trips and Chuck Todd never asked who footed the bills. Now he’s asking Stephanie Cutter who’s paying for Pres. Obama’s trips to go speak to students about student loan rates and why is he doing holding campaign fundraisers. The GOP shilling is so obvious.
Mark Knoller has been on the same topic all morning. They are just MAD that PBO is bypassing their stupid dishonest shillery and is very effective at reaching the American people. Tell Chuck Todd I said GO TO HELL!
Roves emails. The Campaign pays for first class tickets on any airline, as the price they pay for AF-1.
Chuck Todd knows this, he is trying to embarass the President and stop him from doing this…
Did Stephanie put him in his place?
Oh man, that slow jam the news was great. When he dropped the mic lol btw PBO mentioned Key & Peele you guys should watch that on comedy central it’s really funny
If you haven’t yet read Deeniac’s piece from yesterday afternoon, here you go! Good stuff!
‘It seems that the Obama campaign has fooled the Republicans once again: everyone thought that the president’s campaign would wrap Romney with the flip-flopper cloth, but it appears that they are actually following the strategy of not letting Romney out of the radical right corner he’s backed himself into’

The state’s largest privately-owned solar energy park will soon be generating power.
Gov. Deval Patrick on Wednesday is scheduled to ceremonially flip the switch for the 4.5 megawatt facility on a 22-acre site in Westford.
The $23 million complex, with 14,000 solar panels, was built by Cathartes Private Investments and will be operated by the solar power company Nexamp. The project received a $5.8 million grant from Massachusetts as part of the state’s Green Communities Act.
Power generated by the facility will be used by the University of Massachusetts campus in Lowell.
Good morning, TODville! Another great morning to be a Democrat!!
POTUS, COOLEST GUY IN THE ROOM.
And a mighty Happy Birthday to our yardarm!! Very best wish to you for hideous of love, cake and celebration, matey!! {{cue streamers, confetti, champagne, music, foghorns}}
The naked lack of shame about the whole speech was the only real story of the night. The notion of Willard Romney, Champion Of The Proletariat is so utterly preposterous that it fairly cried out for coverage. But the speech was well-crafted and delivered with something approaching actual gusto, so that, apparently, was enough for now,
He’s getting better at being shameless. Believe that. In retrospect, it’s hard to believe anyone ever took seriously the notion that Romney was not inevitable. He is, after all, the Inevitable Man. His whole life has been inevitable. It was inevitable that he would go to Harvard and that he would be rich. (Last night, the best he could do for an up-from-the-land tale, if you didn’t count the underdog saga of Bain Capital, was talking about how his father once sold paint out of the trunk of a car. Yes, and Jack Kennedy’s grandfather once made barrels and ran a saloon. What precisely is your point?) It was inevitable that he would one day run for office. His campaign for governor of Massachusetts was inevitable as soon as he shoved the incumbent incompetent, Jane Swift, out of the way, which happened about 30 seconds after he moved back into the state. The last campaign was inevitable and, because it failed, this campaign was inevitable, no matter what he and Ann talked about in one of their several living rooms a little more than a year ago. If he’s good at one thing, Willard Romney is good at being inevitable.
So…, Rubio has a biography coming out next month, apparently, his Grandfater was deported.
And this is supposed to connect him with the Hispanic population???
I need a early morning drink!
Did the President do so well last night that HuffyFluffy HAD to find something negative to print about him? They have some headline (which I REFUSE to click) that says YOUNG VOTERS are shifting AWAY from the President according to some random poll. Yeah right, like they’re going to vote for the Republicans, who want their interest rates on their student loans to go up, or for Ron Paul who wants to ban education all together? It’s a shame how far up the asses of the Republicans our media is, and yet we have Limbaugh and the hard right sniveling about “the liberal media.”
“A forthcoming biography of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who is described by author Manuel Roig-Franzia as a “politician who built a political identity on his family story,” reveals an immigration hell for Rubio’s Cuban-born maternal grandfather, who was ordered deported from Florida because he flew in from Cuba without a visa, a decade before Rubio’s birth.”
Oh dear, doesn’t that make old Marco an illegal at worst and an anchor baby at best? Makes you wanna go hmmmm.
TPM says that Newt is suspending his campaign next week. Next week????? Like waiting until then will make a difference? WTH? He’s so full of himself. He’ll probably go on a bender and charge up some more shit at Tiffany’s…..
Chipsticks’ birthday fete might be curtailed
And our birthday taunts might be derailed
If Yardarm thinks he has other places to be
Or wonders if we’d remember @ TOD
(The dumbass ~ that ship’s already sailed)
Thanks nintendow..I really enjoyed hearing Sandra Fluke..I thought her name was pronounced Fluke as in a Lucky fluke? I muted most of limbaugh out. Good on LO’D for having her on. limbaugh is only helping our Cause. LOL.
I’m Mitt Romney, bitches, and I’m all you got left.
God, you people are saps. You didn’t see this coming? I pandered and I pandered, and then, every night, I went back to my hotel room, stuck my fingers down my throat, and then had a good laugh. You think that whole “Etch-a-Sketch” thing was a staff blunder? Honkies, please. Could I have signaled more clearly that your audience with me was over? Smedley? Show these lovely people waving their Bibles and their rubber fetuses the door, will you? Lovely to have met you. Really. We must do this again some time. Say, if we’re all really lucky, and I’ve always been luckier than you poor deluded hayshakers, maybe the summer of 2015? It’s a date. We have a lovely parting gift for you.
Me.
DO NOT HAVE FOOD OR DRINK IN YOUR MOUTH WHEN YOU READ THIS!!
Morning, Mom Marilyn! Cloudy here so my lifeguard daughter woke up singing the praises of clouds:) Little things:) Thanks for passing along all those links! Hope all is well…and enjoy your glorious day!
Now the first thing to note is that the US has recovered WAY better than either the Eurozone or the UK. So if you think Obama has been a disaster, you might first acknowledge that the US has performed better than all its major Western peers.
But beyond that, check out the UK line. The UK was recovering on a fine trajectory right up until early 2010, at which point UK growth hit a brick wall.
What happened in 2010? That’s when conservative David Cameron came to power with an agenda of reigning in the debt. Sound familiar?
Basically we have a life test of a country that wants to do what conservatives in the US want to do: reduce national debt.
Fracois Hollande is pushing for a renegotiation of the European Fiscal Compact, or a new treaty all together. The Fiscal Compact may have just died a quick death without Ireland getting a chance to kill it off. Viva la France!
Well, Boehner went on Fox yesterday or the day before saying that “50” of his caucus were in tough races. Maybe he did it just to gin up donations, but the fact that he felt the need to say that at all indicates that the GOP’s position is not that strong.
President Obama cast the Republican Party as out of touch with the country in a wide-ranging interview with Rolling Stone magazine.
Obama sought to portray the GOP and its presumptive presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, as staunchly conservative, saying a profound shift in the Republican Party would provide voters with the sharpest contrast between candidates in a generation.
“You have a Republican Party and a presumptive Republican nominee that believes in drastically rolling back environmental regulations, that believes in drastically rolling back collective-bargaining rights, that believes in an approach to deficit reduction in which taxes are cut further for the wealthiest Americans, and spending cuts are entirely borne by things like education or basic research or care for the vulnerable,” Obama said in the interview released Wednesday. “All this will be presumably written into their platform and reflected in their convention.”
I love the use of the word drastic. I think you will hear that word a lot. Radical is what it actually is, but that word would probably not have the same resonance.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio received threats that police believe warrant protection in both Washington, D.C. and at his home in West Miami, reports the Miami Herald.
Typical rethuglican scare mongering ‘orange alert’. Remember ‘that bullet’ in cantor’s office ? Although it’s ironic that this nra ass nibbling cons are afraid of one single bullet.
A lie, nothing no go so! Translated: It is not true. Never haoppened. Who would threathen him. Democrats? No, we have better things to do with our time.
Happy Birthday Yardarm on your special day!!!! May you enjoy some smooth jazz and relax and have a beautiful celebration. You are a beautiful soul. Give your day your all, sir. HZ
First?
I declare tie for first LOL
I declare you are correct 🙂
HAPPY BDAY Yardarm!!!
Happy Birthday, Yardarm! Tucker sends wet birthday kisses! 🙂
Winner!!!! Morning LOL, morning everyone 😉
*In my Jimmy Fallon R& B voice* Awwwwww yeah
In my Jimmy Fallon R&B voice: “The BarackNess Monster”
Yeeeeeeeeth!
My President KILLED it last night! BOOYAH!
Gonna be a great campaign, WOOT!

good morning
GM folks.
Happy Birthday Yardarm…. The slow jam of the news with President Obama and Jimmy Fallon was ttruly great fun last night!
Happy b’day YA. That’s one beautiful ship.
Yes it was….4 more for 44!
Indeed yard, indeed.
I can sense Chips cooking up an amazing prize for us…….
ABC/WashPo Michelle Obama 69/24 favorable/unfavorable, Ann ” Working Mom” Romney 40/30 with 30% not expressing an opinion
Despite all the media PR she received over the past several weeks.
At any rate, it has failed!
I can’t wait for the debates. 😆

Great! Poor John McCain!
Congrats LOL & ourmanflint on #1
I set my DVR to tape Fallon last night so I still haven’t seen the slow jam yet.
As the young people would say Mark Knoller, are you jelly? U mad bro? Really what has got his panties in a bunch?
I taped it too and it didn’t record that section. So I will watch all of your clips here.
GOP is blaming Democrats for, wait for it…, a lowering of gas prices!
Not kidding.
Jovie I was going to ask are you kidding? You said you weren’t, so let me ask are those darn Republicans crazy? I’ll answer it, Yes…Yes…Yes!!!!!!!!!!!
We are so blessed to have a president like we do. And he is soooo cooool
HAPPY BIRTHDAY YARDARM!! Enjoy your day shipmate and wishing you many more like this 🙂
Yeah! Happy birthday. And your present is to have a 3 day Liberty at any Port, in the Mediterranean!
Ooooo, I’ll take Salamas Bay in the Greek Islands. Make sure there’s plenty of Ouzo and I’ll be good to go. :-p
Ha! You tell him amk!
The thing is, it’s not his Job to carry water for Tea Baggers, he is supposed to cover the WH!
I wonder how much it cost to go to Crawford Texas every fucking weekend?
Funny you ask, Jovie.
Bush Made 77 Trips to Crawford TX at $226,072 a Pop ( When fuel was cheap ) The complete breakdown:

🙂
and I see that Knoller, after twice tweeting that U. of Ia. is in Cedar Rapids, not Iowa City, finally was corrected by someone at CBS. I don’t get that. I can name state university towns across the country, plus the locations of most other well-known colleges. And I am not on any national presidential news crew who should be aware of the president’s destinations and have this basic knowledge. Dumber than a rock.
He’s too busy worrying and tweeting about the President’s trips and tax payer dollars. It takes up all of the little brain space that he has.
Give Knoller a break, he haven’t had his brain breakfast yet, box of dunkin doughnuts.
Yahoo has a headline saying how polls show Obama is having trouble with the young vote.
Knoller is a duncey head. He needs to go study up, read some books, google something now and again. Lazy so-called jounallists.
You notice they (MSM) are not talking about the price of the SS for the Presidential candidates that only suspended their campaign and refuse to totally cancell all campaigns. Newt still has a SS detail. it’s pretty damned spendy too.
btw hf, I love your ability to post blank tweets here. 🙂 🙂 🙂
LOL! WordPress’s fault!
UK officially in recession. Tax-cuts anyone ?
As the far right would say, but but but the currency is higher than the US!
What a stupid argument!

Yeah, I have a long memory and recall the absolute hate over there directed at Obama. I haven’t forgotten nor do I think I will.
Happy Birthday Yardarm!!!!
Happy Birthday yardam
Thanks again mates. Not much going on here. Just waiting for the sun to move pass the yardarm so I can have ‘spirits’ call. 😀
Happy Birthday Yardarm! Hope you do a lot of “frolicking” today and enjoy the day! 🙂
The Preezy Of The United Steezy. 😆
PBO just locked in a couple more votes last night.
Mitt Romney Versus Reality: Student Loans Edition
HAPPY BIRTHDAY YARDARM! YES INDEED…PBO WAS AWESOME LAST NIGHT! HAVE TO RUN A HOMELESS ERRAND…WILL CATCH UP LATER…PLEASE PRAY FOR SUE’S BACK…MY TRANSMISSION IS ACTING UP HORRIBLY LATELY! BLESSINGS ALL!
Happy Birthday Admiral Yardam 😉
After last night on Fallon…. my crush on the President has increased x 100. I didn’t think that was possible.
‘allooo. Remember college? And what he said about it ? 🙂
Yes! That was great. I can relate lol
LOL 😀 😀
Kay, between the two of us, we’re going to ‘crush’ POTUS back into the white house on November 6! Yes we can! 😀
Hachiko, I am so glad you and Tucker are doing so well in Maine! I know you will get a job. Better days are coming for us all!
Thank you, Marilyn! I am hopeful for those better days, too. 🙂
Most definitely
Aw Happy Birthday Yardarm!! And many more 🙂
Last night, at the end of Mitt’s horrendous acceptance speech…he offered us this little gem….
Not while I can still vote.
grrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!
Romney’s “Americans”, like Palin’s, have had THEIR AMERICA taken away from them by blacks, immigrants, feminazis, etc., etc.
As someone noted about his speech last night, it’s “back to the future”.
Linda, what the hell is that Mitt Romney talking about?
Give him power in his dreams. The man is so stiff I wonder if he sleeps standing up. I see he is going casual, wearing jeans and striped button down shirts. Still look stiff. I saw where they are saying he is ‘young.” I am the same age as him and he looks like my father.
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you (in my Stevie Wonder voice) – have a wonderful day, Yardarm 🙂
Good morning all.
Happy Birthday Yardarm. Enjoy your day…
Hilarious. But most definitely reflective of a bigger problem for the GOP.
LOL! Someone wants PBO to help them with their new album…perhaps sing a bar or two?
???

And on David Koch

Holy shit! I had no idea I could love Stephen Colbert even more. Wow! That guy has cojones the size of melons! Good for you, Stephen!
Oh my. 😯
Get ’em, Stephen, get ’em!
Okay True Confessions…I have watched the slow jam video about 10 times and when PBO drops the mic he rocks my world 😉
Y’all have a great productive O’Day. Off to work I go!
Happy Birthday, Yardam!!
——————————
http://maddowblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/04/25/11387950-has-mitt-romney-met-mitt-romney#comments
Though I don’t normally read comments at other sites, my eyes caught this one by ‘DAY-3905329’
//I watched the speech last night with a couple of elderly neighbors.
About halfway through, Edith turned to her husband, and said, “Oh, he’s so handsome!”
And Archie replied, “Yeah. And he ain’t colored.”
#3.1 – Wed Apr 25, 2012 8:42 AM EDT//
Colored is a 60s term! Good grief!
utaustinliberal, how true, how true. Every person I talk to say the exact same thing, it’s because the President is black. They can’t stand a black man in the White House, unless he’s cooking or cleaning.
😆 😆 😆
I think it was a joke, UTAL. Archie and Edith, as in the Bunkers from a 70s show ( I forget the name). 😆
“All In The Family”. And I agree,PJ, it was a joke, a riff on Archie Bunker.
Who the heck are Archie and Edith Bunker? I wasn’t born then. 😀
Ummm, I’m sure the commentor was being sarcastic – referring to Archie Bunker and Edith….get it?
Who are Archie and Edith Bunker? PJ said they’re from the 70’s. Were they on a show or something?
I can just imagine Archie sitting in his chair watching Mitt, with Edith standing beside/behind him. And Meathead (was that what he called the son-in-law watching on, appalled.
I could imagine Archie too, P48. Are we dating ourselves? 😉 😆
I had no idea Archie Bunker was still around.
Hello Hachiko, you didn’t know racism were still around.
Hi darlin’. Oh yeah. I knew. The election of this wonderful man has made that painfully clear. *sigh*
He’s not.
Do they mean Edith and Archie Bunker?
Yes. The commentor was being sarcastic.
I’ve been offline all this time so missed this little dialogue. I personally THOUGHT, if legit, the commentor assigned those well-known names to his/her neighbours because their comments was a direct reflection of the TV characters’ personalities and thus readily identified the neighbours.
Willard Zombey is F00GIN’ UGLY…Poor Things..they must have such ugly bars to compare him to.
Morning folks! Awesome appearance by the President, he’s so damn likable, so comfortable. I can’t imagine Willard in any setting coming off so comfortable. Not even with his richie rich friends.
I love it how PBO stole mittbot’s thunder on a day that is to be the clowning day of his nomination.
He’s been doing that regularly. Love it! Mitt was bookmarked by a couple of love-fests for Pres. Obama — and Pres. Obama being his BarackNess Monster-self!!
POTUS has been stealing Willard’s thunder each primary day and last night was the best. PBO took away from Mitt’s big GE roll out, I love it.
Colbert proves once again why he’s so freaking brilliant. 🙂
“Mitt Romney. He made millions off of companies that went bankrupt while workers lost promised health and retirement benefits.
“His own tax return from last year reveals he made $21 million, yet paid a lower tax rate than many middle-class families.
“Now Romney’s proposing a huge new $150,000 tax cut for the wealthiest 1 percent, while cutting Medicare and education for us.
“Mitt Romney. If he wins, we lose.”
http://mobile.washingtonpost.com/rss.jsp?rssid=597&item=http%3a%2f%2fwww.washingtonpost.com%2fFragment%2fSysConfig%2fWebPortal%2ftwpweb%2ffeeds%2fBlogsMobileIndividual%2fmobile-blogs.jpp%3fid%3d1000.4.685388664%26uuid%3d72fdd4f6-8e48-11e1-a787-6ecf005d6112&cid=961405

Associated Press
Wednesday, Apr 25, 2012

Super PAC attacks!
Yardarm, Happy Birthday and have a great, great day. I’m taking the day off to celebrate both anniversary and upcoming birthday. See you all. Time to recharge worn out batteries.
Happy anniversary and Happy Birthday, Jackie. My sister’s Anniversary was April 19th and her birthday was April 22.
Happy Birthday Yardman!! Many you have many, many, many more!
Ann Romney: “I love the fact that there are also women out there that don’t have a choice, that they must go to work and they still have to raise the kids,” Romney said. “Sometimes life isn’t easy for any of us.” http://www.newstimes.com/news/article/Ann-Romney-says-she-can-relate-to-juggling-act-of-3504329.php#photo-2852359
Is she expressing happiness for people’s misfortunes?
And like…
On every channel… LOL!
lmao jovie @ your likes.
And like one time at bandcamp…
hopfruit2, 15 minutes of fame, or shame.
Yeah but I’d hope I’d spill it on another place, not the shoe
IfyaknowwhatImean 😉
She was doing interviews? oh FFS!
Because she fed into the MSM ploy!
She could have refused!
It was fantastic! Jimmy was so nervous haha…..coolest President ever.
Good morning everyone….Happy birthday Yardam,.
hey Christi 🙂 yes he is : coolest President ever. He is special in so many ways.
and Happy Birthday Yardarm~ have a beautiful day 🙂
National Journal poll: The Prez by 8…ANNRomneymentum For the Win!!!
http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entries/new-poll-shows-obama-over-romney-by-eight
This is a surprise (NOT) http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/national/arizona-ranks-low-in-most-peaceful-state-survey
On a good note, hachiko is in a peaceful place, and I want to move to Cambridge, MA 🙂
CHIPSTICKS! you are a wonder, girl!
Tell Chuck Todd I said GO TO HELL!
hopefruit2,I will tell Chuckie Todd that when I email him.

ROMNEY’S NAKED LACK OF SHAME
Big Night
By Charles P. Pierce – MANCHESTER, N.H.
———————————-
The naked lack of shame about the whole speech was the only real story of the night.

He is a charmer. Ooohhhhh Yeahhhh! Nice chuckle to start the day!
They also have the yogurt story……
Pathetic Presstitutes !
http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/romney-wont-be-able-to-shake-immigration-debate/2012/04/24/gIQAWTrTfT_story.html?hpid=z2
Immigration albatross for Romney. GOOD! And Russell Pearce, you POS, go fuck yourself! There. I feel much better now:)
From Politico
“A forthcoming biography of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who is described by author Manuel Roig-Franzia as a “politician who built a political identity on his family story,” reveals an immigration hell for Rubio’s Cuban-born maternal grandfather, who was ordered deported from Florida because he flew in from Cuba without a visa, a decade before Rubio’s birth.”
Oh dear, doesn’t that make old Marco an illegal at worst and an anchor baby at best? Makes you wanna go hmmmm.
Hi, cookemom! Yes, old Marco has his “immigration troubles,” doesn’t he? (Good.)
TPM says that Newt is suspending his campaign next week. Next week????? Like waiting until then will make a difference? WTH? He’s so full of himself. He’ll probably go on a bender and charge up some more shit at Tiffany’s…..
Chipsticks’ birthday fete might be curtailed
And our birthday taunts might be derailed
If Yardarm thinks he has other places to be
Or wonders if we’d remember @ TOD
(The dumbass ~ that ship’s already sailed)

Hello All! Can you guys believe I fell asleep? I am so upset with myself. I ended up bawling at 2 a.m. this morning cause I missed it.
sorry you fell asleep! at least TOD has some stuff lined-up for you this morning
Charles Pierce is awesome. “I’m Mitt Romney, bitches, and I’m all you’ve got.” Collection of Romney thoughts (and I use that term loosely!)

Remember President Obama saying he liked “Luther” from Comedy Central who translates what PBO would like to say? I believe it’s the 3rd video down.
:). Gotta love luther. He is just like us. 🙂
Luther just reminds me of our Jovie. 🙂

That’s was Hysterical, Linda! I was doubling over with Laughter! I’m sending a link to my son..he will get it!

Chips, Thanks for the Jimmy Fallon clips 🙂
Doing so is a growth disaster.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY YARDARM matey 🙂
I hope you’re enjoying the day with your kids and family.
Good west coast morning Chipsticks!
Thanks for the repost of the great night Jimmy Fallon & The Roots had with President Obama – it was on JAM!!!!!
Good west coast morning TOD family!!!
That was so cute. Just watched the slow jam and I think that becomes an instant classic. And drops the ‘mike’.
Every time I watch it, the curtains open and they introduce the President, and I start bawling.
Fracois Hollande is pushing for a renegotiation of the European Fiscal Compact, or a new treaty all together. The Fiscal Compact may have just died a quick death without Ireland getting a chance to kill it off. Viva la France!
🙂 We need this back in capable hands!!!
I sure hope he is right…..When Chris VanHollan had that job…he said the Dems would hold the house in 2010.
Well, Boehner went on Fox yesterday or the day before saying that “50” of his caucus were in tough races. Maybe he did it just to gin up donations, but the fact that he felt the need to say that at all indicates that the GOP’s position is not that strong.
HuffPuff’s Server crashed….
hahahahaha..
Probably all those nasty right wing comments.
Good..hope it stays down. Mess with our President and bad things will happen to you.

Rubio Gets Threats, Police Protection
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio received threats that police believe warrant protection in both Washington, D.C. and at his home in West Miami, reports the Miami Herald.

Typical rethuglican scare mongering ‘orange alert’. Remember ‘that bullet’ in cantor’s office ? Although it’s ironic that this nra ass nibbling cons are afraid of one single bullet.
A lie, nothing no go so! Translated: It is not true. Never haoppened. Who would threathen him. Democrats? No, we have better things to do with our time.
