Altmire and Holden, both Blue Dogs who voted against the ACA were PRIMARIED by two progressive DEMS in PA tonight. The only disappointment was that former Rep Patrick Murphy lost to Kathleen Kane for AG. Meanwhile, PBO has more votes that almost the entire GOP field in PA. Willard still is not getting over 60% despite him being declared the presumptive nominee since three weeks ago!

I was looking at the pictures again and imagining Robme there (if he would go in the first place) and I pictured him scared to touch anything and wiping his hands like Shrub used to do.

So consider that thought a momentary lapse in the time/space continuum. Back to just enjoying these happy exuberant faces, young and old alike.

They’ve been saying that since his first month in office. Remember his broom story/joke: “Obama isn’t sweeping fast enough.” “you’re holding the broom wrong” His retort was “Grab a mop” and the farmer in the field joke he made about we planted the seed yesterday and are standing in the garden today wondering why there isn’t corn to eat?

Yup, they’ve been doing this since the beginning of his presidency. By the way I’ve always wanted a ‘grab a mop’ bumper sticker.

Exactly. That is essentially the GOP platform. Mitt Romney thinks his party should be rewarded for doing absolutely nothing for job creation. And just ignore all of the filibustering, delaying, obstructing, sabotaging and hostage taking they did for the last three and a half years.

A member of the Senate GOP leadership says he and his colleagues could end up backing House Republicans in their efforts to fund the government at levels below those agreed to in the bipartisan debt-limit deal last August, increasing the chances of a government shutdown fight just weeks before the 2012 election.

โ€œI think the Budget Control Act stated caps and lids,โ€ said Sen. John Thune (R-SD) in the Capitol Tuesday. โ€œItโ€™s not necessarily floors. And if the House appropriators can mark bills that will come in at that $1.028 [trillion] level, then more power to them. Of course, here theyโ€™ve already agreed that theyโ€™re going to mark at the Budget Control Act levels, so thatโ€™ll set up some interesting discussions in the conference committee. But I think weโ€™ve got to be as aggressive as we can in trying to rein in the cost of government, the growth of government.โ€

The President can order Treasury to go by budget control act, which is law. So, what are they up to?

Amk, Mitt’s audience is a prime example of folks voting against their interest out of hatred for PBO. It is really sad. I think I saw a couple of AAs standing behind Mitt who was shame to clap and raise the flag. They shoud be ashamed of themselves. Did anyone notice how Steve Schmidt is changing his analysis about Mittens? His republican roots sure came out tonight on Rachel. She stood her ground and disagreed with him about the speech. Old Fineman wasn’t that impressed with Mitt’s speech either. I was surprised.

New poll has Robney up only 7 in Texas-

Romney also came out on top in head-to-head polling with President Obama, with a 50 percent-43 percent advantage. Obama had more support among Latinos, leading Romney 56 percent-34 percent, and among young voters with a 57 percent-35 percent edge.ย

โ€œTexas looks like it will remain Republican in the general election,โ€ Jensen said. โ€œThis is not likely to be the year when Texas goes Democratic, but the trends with [Hispanics and young voters] make it seem possible that it will happen someday.โ€ย

    • 111 itgurl_29
      April 25, 2012 at 12:37 am

So POTUS leads Romney by 10 in New Hampshire and it’s a toss-up. But Romney leads POTUS by 7 in Texas, the republican version of California, and it’s safely repug for the general election. Give me a break. If a 10 point lead is a toss up, so is a 7 point lead. Especially when that 7 point lead is a state where Romney should be leading by a good 20 points.

  32. April 25, 2012 at 12:28 am

This week, the president will visit with some of his most important constituents — young people. These voters are looking at issues like education reform, the current job market and the economic recovery efforts. As President Obama and students across this country know, the clock is ticking because unless Congress acts, interest rates for new subsidized student loans are set to increase on July 1. Speaking for my fellow students, we can’t afford for this to happen. Fortunately for this group — American college students — the president is a strong advocate on our behalf.
As a senior at the University of Texas in Austin, the state’s largest research university, I have seen the power of a publicly funded education system firsthand. The president has doubled our investments in Pell Grants and has worked to reform the student loan programs supported by the Department of Education making higher education a possibility for first generation college students.
Both President Obama and the first lady have felt the heavy burden of student loans and worked hard to pay them off; the president’s decision to cut out big banks, who he recognized were unnecessary middlemen, saved over $60 billion that is now helping other students afford college. He’s also providing more student debt forgiveness; instead of making payments for 25 years, responsible Americans will have their student loans forgiven after 20 years. President Obama believes that Americans should get a fair shot at an affordable college education and his strong record proves that.

Please try to post the whole speech here in Colorado!! I wished I could have been there. Couldn’t wait to see it on the news. I picked the wrong channel–channel 4 here in Denver. Their political reporter Shaun Boyd barely reported on it. The way she showed it was about 15 sec. of the President and then 3 minutes of people who supposedly worked on his campaign in 2008 and now are too disappointed to vote for him. BS. That reporter is always so biased. I would love to get close up pictures of these “disappointeds” and then see if they are being shipped around the country to every event. From what I could tell there were people who got in line two days ago in order to get tickets. The stadium was at capacity cheering and giving standing ovations, but Channel 4 reports on a small group of negativity. It makes me so sick. Shaun Boyd should not be allowed to report. I have sent messages numerous times. She is always biased.

  36. April 25, 2012 at 12:39 am

    NYT editorial:

….Once the White House began its effort, Mitt Romney broke with House Republicans and said Monday that he supports renewing the loan subsidies. As usual, though, that also meant breaking with himself, since he had fully embraced the House budget and never expressed any reservations about the student loan provisions. Indeed, only a few months ago, he argued repeatedly in interviews that student subsidies were a bad idea that encouraged colleges to raise their tuition.

I absolutely love President Obama. He is rocking the Jimmy Fallon Late Night Show. I so wish I were there.

If you look up “cool” in the dictionary it will say Barack Obama!

For most of us unapologetic President Obama supporters, too much excitement can be “dangerous” to POTUS.

A case in point, this fan of PBO, was too excited that she dropped her yogurt and it splashed on President Obama’s trousers and also some landed on one of the Secret Service Agent’s leg. This event happened while POTUS was greeting people outside The Sink in Boulder and that is why he made joke about it during his speech.

BOULDER, Colorado โ€” Even the most powerful man in the world cannot avoid the occasional food spill.

President Barack Obama was meeting and greeting outside popular local restaurant The Sink, in Boulder, Colorado, on Tuesday night when a girl spilled yogurt on him, CBS Newsโ€™ White House correspondent Mark Knoller reported.

โ€œOoops. A girl spilled yogurt on Pres Obama as he was shaking hands along a ropeline outside The Sink. She apologized,โ€ Knoller wrote on Twitter.

โ€œGetting yogurt on the president โ€” youโ€™ve got a story to tell,โ€ Obama told the girl, who replied, โ€œIโ€™m very embarrassed,โ€ according to Knoller.

I’m listening to some of these Republicans and they are saying in order not to let the rates go up, there have to be cuts made some where else. I know how it could have been paid for, cut out the billion dollars subsides for the big oil companies. But they wouldn’t dare do that, that is why they are phony as hell when they talk about cutting the debt.

It was more than worth it to stay up. This appearance by PBO is better and more fun than any other that h has done on shows like this. Okay, commercial is almost over. Well, let them. I think more and more people just don’t take them seriously anymore. Tonight Democrats in PA put themselves in a good position to win a lot of seats in the state house, which will put a crimp in Corbett’s ugly style. We also sent some conservadems packing in strong D districts. My only regret of the day is the Patrick Murphy’s loss. He would have made an outstanding Attorney General if elected.

Never, ever has the Republic been so fortunate with perhaps three exceptions – the Founding Fathers, Lincoln & FDR.

However, if they were all alive now and grok’d what the Party of Koch & Norquist have done and were trying to do to OUR Republic they would be in awe at how anyone could manage to remain so gracious, so empathetic, so willing to work with EVERYONE to PERFECT the Union.

It is OUR RESPONSIBILITY to ensure President Obama is not only re-elected but we flush the bigotry, avarice and stupidity from our Democracy – at EVERY LEVEL – on 6 Nov 2012.

    That is OUR DUTY.

    Sabreen60, you read my thoughts.

Jimmy Fallon was not expecting that, but he followed suit and it was poetic.
I thought what if Mitt tries to do that. It would probably end up the mic hitting someone on the foot causing a live wire to ignite which would end up sparks flying and a full blown stage fire!

God for bid, do not let that fool copy this, please.

In other words, a scene from, “The Pink Panther”.

The pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA Action and the League of Conservation Voters are teaming up on a seven-figure ad campaign branding Mitt Romney as the oil industryโ€™s โ€œtwo hundred million-dollar man.โ€

The Obama-sanctioned super PAC and the powerful environmental group will spend $1 million to air the anti-Romney ads in Colorado and Nevada, a strategist familiar with the campaign said.

โ€œHeโ€™s the $200 million man and big oilโ€™s fingerprints are all over him,โ€ the script says. โ€œBig Oilโ€™s pledged 200 million to help Mitt Romney, and Romneyโ€™s pledged to protect their profits and billions in special tax breaks.โ€

It continues: โ€œWhen you fill up your tank, remember whoโ€™s in the tank for Big Oil: Mitt Romney, the $200 million man.โ€
