Not only will we not turn back, WE WILL KEEP MARCHIN’ FORWARD!!!

Pres. Obama has entered to give speeches using this music. I love the lyric laid over that old school Motown style sound..

        Keep Marchin’ Raphael Saadiq –

when there’s nothing you can do
when there’s nothing you can say
’cause everything just ain’t going to go your way
if you’re feeling kind of strange and you want to lay it down
and it’s hard for you to keep your feet on solid ground

you got to keep, on … keep marchin’
        keep marchin’ on
you got to keep, on … keep marchin’
        keep marchin’ on
        keep on … keep marchin’

when a poor girl shines and a rich girl cries
and the clown is wearing no make up
you got to get up and run, you got to get up and strive
you got to put on your pride into making it

you got to keep, on … keep marchin’
        keep marchin’ on
you got to keep, on … keep marchin’
        keep marchin’ on
        keep on … keep marchin’

you got to keep, on … keep marchin’
        keep marchin’ on
you got to keep, on … keep marchin’
        keep marchin’ on
        keep on … keep marchin’

I’ve been thinking that in addition to giving donations to the campaign, and motivating friends and family in our network, the important work to be done at this stage of the campaign is voter registration and to assist with that in our own states and localities to qualify Obama voters now. Probably the Dem. Party in your area will know what’s being done.

Here is PA, specifically in Philadelphia, we are working our asses off for NEW VOTER registration. Plus, we have the added burden of making sure that all voters have the proper ID to vote on November 6, 2012.

Good evening Chips and TODville!!!! Finally have time to catch up some on all that is happening. It is so bad when work causes me to miss so many posts. So sorry I missed this speech in Detroit. That video is so powerful. We have such a wonderful President. It was great to be at our family reunion where most of the relatives are Obama supporters. We had some great discussions. But I visited a very old friend and we did not discuss polictics at all. They just mentioned they were so far right they had no interest in social media. I really ache for them and their stupidity. I wish I could do something but I have decided I can only do what I can do.

I am so glad Hachiko and Tucker are in Maine!!!! This is such a wonderful community!!!! I can’t wait till we have the opportunity to meet everyone. The opportunity to meet Desertflower was so special!

personally, i feel getting PBO re-elected is one of the most important things any of us can do in our entire lifetimes, outside of what we can do in our personal lives. it’s that important, since as our resident bobfr talks about, this year, right now at this very moment, we’re fighting the culmination of the american civil war…150 year later. yes, we can!

Yes, we either bring 1865 to a close or the next several generations will be fighting for the basic rights of each person as the planet becomes ever more toxic due to incessant exploitation by folk like Mitt, the Kochs, etc.

We will prevail on 6 Nov 2012 – we owe it to everyone before us who enabled us to have this exceptional opportunity to shape, truly, the course of history – for the better.

      • 43 HZ
        April 20, 2012 at 12:16 am

Ladyhawke, did you see his response to Lawrence? I am convinced from the gentleman’s words that he is strongly a supporter of Romney, and that is enough for him even with the insult(my take away) by Romney.

I think Lawrence did a decent thing to invite him on and try to make a “human connection” with this owner, but some people will do anything, take anything as long as they think that they will defeat POB. The gentleman surely is for Mr. Romney and will take any rude treatment as not something that is seen as rude to many of us. So I will allow him be who and what he needs to be in his space.

I came away with no more pain for the gentleman, and I pray for his business to continue to thrive for goodness sake, and maybe POB will pay him a visit as well. We do not change hearts, we get out the votes of those who are strongly committed to the principles and policies of this great POTUS.

I will leave the blinded eyes for God to open. I can only walk in compassion, love, and forgiveness. We will all be in a better space, if I do my part, and that is my part. I pray for blessings to the Bethel Bakery in Pittsburgh and the people who sat down with Romney at Bethel Park.

I am just grateful that our POB is our POTUS, and what a fine man he is to, with, and for the people.HZ

Good evening, TOD family. Polls are in the news again and I ask: What are they really worth? Don’t we know that they can be manipulated in a dozen different ways? I prefer to use my own observations and conversations with people. I talk to a lot of people, both on the phone and in person. I also spend a truly sinful amount of time watching the President’s speeches, interviews and press conferences. There is no way that Mitt Romney comes even close to matching this President in intelligence, drive, sincerity, trustworthiness, ability to connect with people or just plain likeability. There is a huge disconnect between the various audiences’ reactions to the President and the media reports on these events and their equally misleading polls. I am not complacent; I work really hard to make sure my all-time favorite President will have a second term, but I refuse to get all worked up about these worthless polls. The day I see even a single person look at the presumptive Republican nominee the same way that I see hundreds of people look at my President every time he goes anywhere; the day I hear people shout “We love you” a fraction of the time I hear it whenever the President speaks at a townhall or rally or college or wherever; the day I witness the sheer excitement of dozens of people at the mere glimpse of the President’s motorcade when Mr. Romney passes through; the day I am around when a struggling senior citizen or single mother or just laid off worker tells me about his or her distress at the thought of losing what little security they still have and look to Mr. Romney to fight for them – that is the day I will pay attention to the media circus and the polls. In the meantime, I will just continue to make contact with as many of my fellow citizens as time allows and tell them all about the hope I still have, the future that is possible and the vision of one extraordinary man who was chosen by the people to lead this nation at a time of great peril and who is working hard every day to keep their dreams alive

PHOENIX (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden’s visit to Phoenix on Thursday and a visit by first lady Michelle Obama set for April 30 in Tucson are sparking talk that Democrats think they may be able to win Arizona in the fall.
Republicans say don’t bet on it.
Biden attended a fundraiser at the Heard Museum to benefit President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign, the Democratic National Committee and several state Democratic campaigns, drawing more than 100 of the party faithful.
“We think we have a real shot at winning the presidential race here in Arizona,” Biden said to raucous applause.
The Obama campaign is not accepting the conventional wisdom that Arizona will go Republican, and “you’re going to see organizers here,” Biden added.

    OMG!OMG!OMG! http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/04/19/clooney-to-make-obama-the-6-million-dinner-man/

Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney will host a $6 million fundraising dinner for Barack Obama at his Los Angeles home as the president fills his campaign coffers to battle Mitt Romney.

The event, on May 10, will feature in the “Dinner with Barack” campaign which the president’s political braintrust dreamed up to drum up small donations and fire up grassroots supporters.

Obama fans are invited to enter the contest and donate as little as $3 dollars on a webpage titled “Obama, Clooney and You” featuring pictures of the Oscar winning star and the president.

We have a chance for dinner with PBO AND George Clooney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ??????????? Be still my heart. Send this around…I can’t be the ONLY one that would think I dies and went to heaven!
Lucky winners earn a spot at the dinner.

“George Clooney is doing his part to help re-elect the president, but he knows that it’s grassroots supporters like you who will decide this election,” the website reads.

“That’s why he’d like you to invite you to donate for a chance to be a part of this event.”

      • 83 hopefruit2
        April 20, 2012 at 8:04 am

I’m beginning to think that those “comments” sections of the online news media are not always real people from the general public but right-wing editors/employees/columnists of those outlets who have been tasked with and paid to spread anti-Obama propaganda for every supposedly Obama-positive or neutral article that is posted. This might be a Tennessee paper but I’ve seen similar trends on MSNBC.com and other supposedly fairly non right-wing outlets.

At the beginning of the GOP primary I was under the impression that Ron Paul had gained tons of supporters, just from looking at various online comments (e.g., YouTube and elsewhere) and I suspected that folks like Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes were under the same impression. Surprisingly, that impression quickly faded when Ron Paul failed to garner anything remotely close the number of votes you would expect for someone seemingly so popular. The youth who the MSM told us were supposedly deserting Obama in droves and flocking to Ron Paul where no where to be found in those GOP primaries. So I truly believe that it’s the media driving much of this seeming dislike for PBO and they’re doing it with a desire to stoke flames of racial animosity and resentment, something they cannot really do in their columns or news reports.

      • April 20, 2012 at 8:08 am

Lawrence had a totally different take. Mitt has not offered a single plan about what he’s going to do for the country, except paint a dark picture of everything. There was an article in NYT I read last night in which Mitch Daniels criticized Mitt for only offering criticism of PBO and no plan. I saw the link on twitter and clicked on it. Very telling. Yet, MSM is trying to its best to lift Mitt.

One thing I know is that we should never forget about how they hid all the failings of the McCain campaign depicted in Game Change. These guys, all of these guys in the media knew what was going on, yet painted a horse race picture. But that said, we should fight like we are 100 points behind, because that’s what the media wants. Many too, want PBO to fail. Anyone read the story about the new study saying that Sunday shows are geared towards GOP. We did not need a study to tell us that.

President Hamid Karzai called for a quicker withdrawal of NATO troops from Afghanistan Thursday in the wake of photos published showing U.S. troops posing with body parts of dead insurgents.

In a statement, Karzai said, “The only way to put an end to such painful experiences is through an accelerated and full transition of security responsibilities to Afghan forces, so Afghanistan can take over its own destiny and, thus, no such things can be repeated by the foreign forces in Afghanistan.”

This is actually very good news!

I went over to Robme’s website, and just as I thought he stole PBO’s whole web site design everything right down to the store. If some one can tweet that out to the world, I would greatly appreiciate it.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has won a $14 million penalty against a Dutch firm and its subsidiaries over allegations it manipulated oil and gasoline futures markets in 2007.

“The case alleged that traders in Optiver’s Chicago office reaped a $1 million profit by engaging in a practice called ‘banging the close,’ in which the firm attempted to move U.S. oil prices by executing a large volume of deals during the final moments of trading,” Reuters reports.

Robney raised 12.6 million in march! This is bad news for Obama, of course!

      April 20, 2012 at 8:06 am

And I’m sure 90% of that 12.6 m came from LARGE donors (over $2000 a head)!

      • April 20, 2012 at 8:09 am

He says 286k donations of less than 250!
        That is actually pretty good!

I don’t believe that. Let me just tell you I call BS! My BS alarm is shrieking right now – just to tell you how bogus this is. This is most likely a few entities (most likely corporate friends) breaking up their donations to give a certain impression. That’s what it is. Audit the books and you’ll see 80% coming from the same individual or corporate account.

Okay I found the Yahoo article (which by the way is extremely pro-Romney and anti-Obama). I won’t even link it here.

The article states: “The Romney campaign said that of the $87 million raised throughout the primary season thus far, $11.6 million came from relatively small donations of under $250. Some 286,520 donations under $250 had been received through the end of March.”

So that 286K is the total number of small donations since Romney began his campaign. 11.6 out of 87M is LESS than 15% from small donations. Which means that more than 85% of Romney’s total fundraising comes from large donations!

I wonder if a lot of Robney donations are maxed out for the General?

This is a wonderful video, I have watched it about a dozen times. And I am almost getting jelous. I wish, I could help you and do something. But as a German citizen I am not even allowed to donate. I don´t exactly know, why this President inspires even me that much, being thousands of miles away. I guess it is not only his personal attitude, his profound decency, his ideals and political views, it is also his attitude giving everybody the sense of being important, unique and special, and needed..and because of that also responsible, not only for him- or herself. He just has the gift, making people better, getting the best out of everybody. So keep on fighting! I would like to keep that source of inspiration for another couple of years, that will be good for America and it will be a blessing for the whole world. And let me know, if there is anything, I can do for you!
