We need to bring maximum focus on the fact that @MittRomney is a draft dodger, a #NEOCONSTER, who solicits (not merely accepts) endorsements from a racist, draft-dodging, misogynistic broadcaster of hate and violence toward the President of the United States of America.

After listening to what Ted Nugent said about Senator Obama, Senator Clinton in 2008, then President Obama, and Mitt Romney has the nerve to go sit down with some wacko like that and seek his endorsement. Ask Mitt when does he plan to go seek the endorsement of the KKK.

In 2010, Republicans accused Democrats of “rushing their massive government takeover of health care through Congress” and considering an “unconstitutional legislative trick” called deem and pass for advancing the measure.

Well, what a difference two years make. Despite vociferously opposing “deem and pass” in 2010 — a tactic the Democrats ultimately abandoned — Republicans are now relying on the procedure to advance their budget resolution. Yesterday, the GOP claimed that “deem and pass” was necessary to “set in motion a 2013 fiscal plan in the absence of an action or agreement with the other chamber” and approved the measure in a vote of 228-184:

GOP leaders are advancing the House Republican budget and its proposed changes to Medicare despite opposition in the Democratic-led Senate by using used a relatively obscure procedural move — tucking it alongside an unrelated bill that would allow the importation of trophy polar bears.

In considering the sportsmen’s hunting legislation, the House approved a provision Tuesday that essentially “deems” the budget from Rep. Paul D. Ryan (R-WI) passed, even though the blueprint with its tax breaks and cuts to domestic programs was dead on arrival in the Senate.

With democrats like this…it makes one appreciate even more the enormity of what President Obama went through to get Healthcare Reform passed. And there are some progressives that are still mad at PBO because he didn’t get single payer system or public option enacted. Did they understand the difficulty involved in even getting some democrats in the Senate to even vote for what eventually passed? I think I might be done with the democratic party after President Obama leaves office after his second term.

Webb has always treated President Obama with so much disrespect. I sometimes webb hates PBO.

In any case, this so-called Democratic Senator even introduced a bill in the senate that would do away with affirmative action.

Webb has never given me any good reason to put my energies into his trust, so I have always respected Tim Kaine, and I do believe that Gov. Kaine has a great opportunity to win in Nov. I like Gov. Kaine’s spirit, hard work, and he seems to have a respectfulness that is good towards POB.

Let us focus on the good energy going towards Gov. Kaine for the winner in Va., in Nov. That is my two-cents. But I do believe we can win this seat. Let us think and give our energies with good thoughts and efforts toward Tim Kaine.HZ

Obama campaign to open office in Delco

The re-election campaign for President Barack Obama announced it will open its first field office in Delaware County tonight.

It will be located at 340 West Baltimore Pike in Media. It will open at 6 p.m.

Delco Democratic Party Chairman David Landau and George Badey, the Democratic candidate in the 7th Congressional District race, are expected to make an appearance at the new office tonight. They are expected to highlight why Obama would do a better job than Republican Presidential front-runner candidate Mitt Romney.

Love how it’s all “I’m an independent” when liberals go after them, but they latch on like parasites to any Republican puffery and blow it up like a balloon. Any journalist or newsperson should be independent, but that stopped years ago. Now they’re just – as itgurl said – corporate shills with marching orders. This guy is another big disappointment, from my POV.

I’ve said this before: it’s all a game to the media, both Right and Left. The press should be a truth-teller; that’s rarely the case anymore, at least in the US political press. But if you’re going to claim the liberal sphere as a pundit, then you should, you know, not kneecap your own side.

And for him to think that liberals are asking for special treatment because we want truth and fairness in how things are covered and reported shows how disgraceful and disingenuous these media elites are. What has happened to the state of journalism in this country? What is wrong with people asking the so called “liberal media” to do their job?

I really used to like Ezra Klein way back but he has become unhearable and unbearable! Last night on Lawrence he was shilling hard for Romney. Sad how these bought and sold guys have wimped out! Maybe we are just on overload with them mouthing off on a daily basis and they really have nothing new to add. It would be way better if political cable shows had more variety of substantial analysts, plus the fact that we would not feel so burdened by the predictable tedious shillers. They switch around. The main guy was there. He replaced Sweeney after Ireland. When they got to London, this guy was there and has been ever since. Two gals today. The blonde one always appears to be a real toughie. During the event at a church recently in Florida, while the first lady was greeting people, a dark-haired agent was dancing and singing to the music and laughing with the crowd. Might have been fun, but was not the image I like to see in that serious business of protection. The blonde gal was at that one, too.

She was probably dancing and singing so she could blend into the crowd. They do that a lot. There are many who are agents who try as much as possible to blend into the crowd so that others won’t know there are so many eyes protecting the First Family.

I’m so glad Webb isn’t running again. He’s gunning for some high paid lobbyist job I imagine. I never sensed truth and honesty in him….he was all a pose. He started with a bang, but has ended with a whimper. I’ve noticed so often the ones who come in to great media fanfare, like Webb, dissolve into nothingness. He’s like Romney; no core, no principles except himself and his advancement. That statement on the ACA is total stupidity. He was one reason it was so difficult to get through.
Tim Kaine was a good governor; not a very good DNC chair, but I think he will be a good Senator. He’s a legislator, and doesn’t do party building well. His TV appearances were pretty dull. DWS is a sparkplug, which is why Nugent and Beck hate her and are scared of her.
President Obama needs Democrats who will work WITH him, not against him, or be passively aggressive, which I think was Webb.

I think we’re going to have quite a shake up in the SS. Of course Mitt comes out big after the SS has already fired the agents and taken their security clearances. The President will let the process work, and it will. Of course Mitt would LOVE to fire people!!!

(Reuters) – BP Plc reached settlements to resolve billions of dollars of claims from the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, and asked a judge for a long delay in any trial over remaining disputes stemming from the disaster.

The London-based oil company still expects under Wednesday’s settlements to pay $7.8 billion to resolve economic, property and medical claims by more than 100,000 individuals and businesses, though there is no cap.

That payout would make the accord one of the largest class-action settlements in U.S. history.

“Neither side will receive everything it wants,” but the settlements are “more than fair, reasonable and adequate” and could avert a decade of litigation, BP and plaintiffs’ lawyers said in papers filed in New Orleans federal court.

The Hilary Rosen boomlet has passed without making any real waves for President Obama, DNC spokesperson Brad Woodhouse told reporters on a conference call Wednesday.

Asked by a reporter if the Rosen controversy – caused when the CNN contributor said Ann Romney has “never worked a day in her life” – made it tougher for Obama and Democrats to continue pushing their message that Republicans are bad for the female electorate, Woodhouse said Rosengate has caused no change in the divide between Romney and Obama when it comes to women.

“There’s actually not bit of proof that this brouhaha about what a pundit said on TV has any impact on the race,” he said. ”The CNN poll, interestingly enough from the network that this occurred on showed the president had a 16-point lead over Romney with women. And when you ask about who caress about issues relative to women, the president has a 28-point lead, 55-27.”

    • 106 theo67
      April 18, 2012 at 6:21 pm

The only way Hilary Rosen’s comment would impact the War on Women is if it caused the GOP to reverse the 1100 bills they’ve introduced that negatively impact women, their health, their safety and their lives. I don’t think Hilary Rosen’s action deterred the GOP or Romney from their mission to make women powerless and third class citizens in this country – so there’s no way her comments impact the war. It still rages on.

This is a major competition. Of course, the key here is that they are not totally tone deaf. That would have meant one of them actually going there which would have gotten a lot more play. I am surprised that ABC News is even reporting on it at all.

Because I was away I can’t tell if this was posted earlier or not; [Just in case] It’s the letter from FLOTUS about the Summer Organizing Fellowship

‘Through the Organizing Fellowship program, you can work in a full-time volunteer position, learn the principles of field organizing, and then carry out important grassroots activities on the ground.

This summer, thousands of these organizing fellows are going to help lead our grassroots organization — recruiting volunteers and running events to help more people make their voices heard.

It’s an amazing experience — one that could change your life while shaping this country for decades to come.

Apply now to be a summer organizing fellow, or pass this note along to someone you know who might be interested.’
