Someone keeping his word is such a foreign idea to Republicans.

    • 12 vcprezofan2
      April 17, 2012 at 5:50 pm

That’s why they find PBO so ‘bizarre’. They are truly unfamiliar with politicians who say what they mean. Look at their 2010 ‘Jobs!’ campaign, and their non-campaigns on abortion/women’s health.

You are so right, Km! The Democrats have the same problem; after all they were all ‘schooled’ in the same pool. In addition, IMO, some Democrats not taking the President at this word is also compounded by the fact that too many of them don’t know what team loyalty looks like. Seems some never learned the ‘don’t air your dirty laundry in public’ message that was drummed into children in days gone by.

Moral of the story: Despite all this MSM PR, 59% of the people either don’t like Ms. Ann, or don’t know who the hell she is. On the contrary, 71% like FLOTUS.

I just saw that on twitter:

”Mitt Romney calls out the media for being part of a “vast left-wing conspiracy.”

Speaking to Larry O’Connor on Breitbart TV, Mitt Romney indicted the media for being part of a “vast left-wing conspiracy.”

“There will be an effort by the quote vast left-wing conspiracy to work together to put out their message and to attack me,” said Romney, according to CN

These pathetic fools will never let go of that lie….corporate owned media is the extension of the GOP, period….

    • 51 theo67
      April 17, 2012 at 6:50 pm

Well, since the media is being accused of being a left wing conspiracy (Romney can’t even be original in his so-called insults), then they should live up to the rap. Their pandering to the right wing clearly isn’t working. They should try pandering to the rest of the country and actually doing the job they’re being paid to do. I’m always surprised to hear some of this media have children, the way they so carelessly throw the country’s future to the dogs.

      • April 17, 2012 at 8:18 pm

You really believe that Slick Mitt/Anne actually believes that? This is a ploy, people. It is a throw away to see how the MSM shills respond in terms of backing off him. Typical repub..can’t take the heat, and proceed to whinge and whine! I refuse to even think that this man is serious. It is all a game of let’s see how much I can get away with re lies, accusations, trumped up outrage …and the beat goes on!

Oh, you’re absolutely right. We all know that there’s no such thing as a “liberal media”, and the GOP knows it. The media bend over backwards to make sure it isn’t true. But – their sheep believe it, it seems. You’re absolutely right that this is a ploy to intimidate the media to back off of him, and considering that he hasn’t been challenged on anything yet by the media, it makes him seem even more thin skinned and cowardly. Totally agree!

Romney is a very small man, pretending to be more significant than he is. He doesn’t deserve to be on the same stage as President Obama, and it says a lot about that 43% (or whatever it is today) who are seriously considering voting for him.

Ever notice, too, that Willard seems to be trying to run against his father. The way he answered the debate question about whether he’d release as many years of tax returns as his dad – almost a mock to his father – and now at the private gathering where he says he’d close or reconfigure HUD (so nobody will know what it used to look like, I’m sure) and his dad was the head of HUD. Either his father did a number on him, psychologically, or gave him too much too early, or Willard has independently thought he could never measure up and now he’s running against his father … well, he’s just pitiful.

Scott Walker should feel right at home in Springfield, Illinois this morning where he is scheduled to speak before the Illinois Chamber of Commerce.

Up to 2,000 labor demonstrators have assembled outside the Abraham Lincoln Hotel and Conference Center Tuesday morning ahead of Gov. Scott Walker’s speech to the Illinois Chamber of Commerce.

“We have enough problems in Illinois, we don’t need him here,” Doug Cycholl, 46, a local leader with AFSCME said of Walker’s visit.

Met by protesters everywhere he goes here, our soon to be replaced Governor gets met by protesters everywhere he goes in the nation.

There are about 250 people attending the speech which means protesters outnumber the audience 4:1. Says a lot, doesn’t it?

Alan West is doubling down on his charge that 80 Democrats in Congress are communists, Ted Nugent is doubling down on his comments about how the President and Democrats need to be shot, saying he’s a black man at a KKK rally and calling Debbie Wasserman Shultz an idiot.

And yet the media continues to apologize to Ann Romney by saying that West and Nugent comments are EXACTLY like Hillary Rosen comments. The Dems need to quit CAVING into the pro Republican and right wing media and start playing HARDBALL!!! It angered me when they caved and attacked Rosen just because the right cried foul, but then get cold feet when West and Nugent make MUCH worse comments! Democrats and the Obama campaign need to make West and Nugent comments the story and issue and quit playing SOFTBALL and hitting with kid gloves. We need Democratic surrogates and Obama surrogates in the media asking why NO Republicans are condeming the comments from West and Nugent!

    • 89 utaustinliberal
      April 17, 2012 at 8:13 pm

Maybe you should back away from CNN and watch other media. Rev. Al and Martin Bashir have called out Nugent, Democrats have been circulating petitions about Nugent, Democrats already have an Ad out about Ted Nugent’s vile words and they’ve connected it to Romney. The Ads have been on TV and online all day. Ed Schultz is about to rip Ted Nugent and Romney a new one and I have no doubt Lawrence will do the same. Think Progress, TPM, and other news outlets are calling the Romney camp out, Obama 2012 surrogates are calling Romney out super hard on twitter, so much so that the Romney camp went silent in fear. So before you make blanket statements, you might want to investigate your sources.

Co-sign. I saw so many of these types of comments on twitter that I thought that this was 2008 instead of 2012 because it’s almost verbatim. That’s not to say that Team Obama won’t have the occasional misstep, but they pretty much stayed above the fray in 2008 despite the constant howling to “take the gloves off”, “hit them harder”, etc., etc. And what do you know, it worked. It would be nice if folks gave the team at least a little bit of credit that they might know how to play this game.

The exposure that Miss Ann got only made viewers see what a hollow, shallow entitled brat she is. An OLD one at that.

Rosen was right in her criticism of Mrs. Money but she was being snide in her delivery. If the shoe had been on the other foot and someone said something snide about Miche, I’m pretty sure Rosen would have called out the person. It’s like PBO said, in public “leave the wives out of it.” My opinion is, say whatever the hell you want about them privately, but don’t mock them in public.

Barack Obama’s father tops colonial list of Kenyan students in US

The name of Barack Obama, the father of the American president, is on the top of a list of names revealed in a hitherto secret British colonial file of Kenyans studying in the US.

The file notes that the US state department had told British officials in 1959 that they were concerned Kenyan students in America had a reputation for “falling into the wrong hands”.

US officials complained that Kenyan students were becoming “anti-American and anti-white” just at the time Barack Obama Senior was given a grant to study in America…

The president’s father is listed as “OBAMA, Barrack H” in the file of Kenyan students in the US drawn up by British colonial officials.

A year later, in 1960, Obama Senior met a white American called Ann Dunham on a Russian language course at the university. They married the next year and had a son, elected the first black US president in 2008.

Ok, for one moment, I thought that Romney was trying to run the okey doke ala Obama’s long form birth certificate, but this is ridiculous. It’s a damn willard lie but he’s saying that if it’s good enough for John Kerry it’s good enough for him. What will his little limburger brainwashed teabaggers think of that? lol.

Hi Desertflower, you in the house? Your friend Smartypants thinks your state might be in play for some blue colouring. Just the thought itself is uplifting, I think.

Chris Mathews’ “Let Me Finish” tonight was magnificent! He totally buried Romney for his “start packing” and total entitlement attitude in his ABC interview. I think that interview is going to damage him more than help him.
I don’t know how to get it and embed it, but someone who can, it would be wonderful to make go viral! This is what Tweety can do when he goes the right way.

Keeps his word to Native American tribes –

‘May we walk together toward a brighter future, built on trust, and not acrimony,” said Hilary Tompkins, Solicitor General of the Interior Department, at the event. “And when I say the word trust, I don’t mean the legal definition of that word, I mean the dictionary’s definition of that word—assured reliance on the integrity, veracity, justice, friendship, or other sound principle of a person or thing….”

Tompkins is a Navajo Nation citizen, and she personally helped sort out the legal parameters of the deals.’

Did I just hear Keith Ellison say that Repubs in Congress spent today putting forth legislation——not for jobs, no no no——to develop roads on public lands for big game hunting purposes—–talked about coming home with a polar bear trophy? What in the world? These Repubs are crazy nuts. Donald Trumps’ sons will be happy at least—-they like killing vacations and now they won’t have to go all the way to Africa to do it. I cease to be amazed.

      Yep, that’s what I heard. 😦 😦 😦

dotster, that CAN’T be true. Keith Ellison is black and he’s also a Muslin, and Mooslins can’t be trusted to tell teh truth. He was probably born in Kenya too, just like that socialist, uppitty nig— uh, Obama who thinks he’s President of my country that I want to take back.

Barney Franks comments are exactly what will cause Dems to lose ground, he’s acting like a rookie saying that “the Republicans took my comments out of context” (his comments about how they shouldn’t have pushed HCR)

Yes that’s what they do Barney, you’ve been in Congress for HOW LONG again? Maybe you shouldn’t have made those comments in the FIRST place, you buffoon! Take responsibility for what YOU said and quit blaming the Republicans for doing what they have been programmed to do!

I told you, he was emotional that POTUS did not sign Executive Order for the Gay Community.
Now, he is being told he did some damage, and dies not know how to walk it back.

You know what gives me confidence and comfort? The knowledge that our President just keeps working for America through all the hysteria out there today. I have every confidence that this SS “scandal” will be dealt with, whatever suit McConnell tries to bring will come to nothing, FLOTUS will continue to be the most admired and loved woman in the country, women will continue to know that PBO is their champion and that Republicans would take us back to the 50s and vote overwhelmingly for PBO.
I’m not a Pollyanna, but I still also believe that true good will shine over evil, and that people prefer that. I don’t believe that Romney is a winner. His track record shows people don’t like him, and when he’s around too long, they get rid of him. He didn’t run for a second term in MA because he knew he could NOT win. He does not wear well. By November, not many people will be able to tolerate him.
And through all the noise, PBO just keeps working for us. Let’s be informed, work hard, but keep the faith, and not panic at every little turn.

Robme wants to get rid of HUD. These affects millions of elderly, poor, senior women and single women with children. I finally got my mom into a senior hud affordable apartment close to me. For the first time in ten years she is happy and in a safe clean well kept apartment. Her old non-hud apartment, the rent kept going up and they refused to make any repairs because she paid slightly less than most people in the building. I will not let Robme win for my Mom and all the other Moms/Dads/Kids out there need to have affordable housing.

I had an interesting conversation with someone who is apparently a Republican or at least an Independent. He lives in WI and we were talking about the possibilty of a football team coming to SoCal. I told him that Los Angeles is broke. If they can’t fund schools, teachers, etc., they have do business paying (even partially) for a football team. He gave the usual arguments, i.e it will bring jobs, money, etc., to the area. I told him we would have the same with a well educated population because people would start businesses, create jobs, business will move to the state, etc. I told him our country’s priorities are messed up if we feel it’s OK to give money to a billionaire to create minimum wage jobs for six months out of the year. Once the game is over, those people get in there cars and go home to the suburbs. The people who live and work near by are too poor to buy tickets for these high priced stadiums. I asked him why these billionaires can’t foot the bill when they did before. They get revenue from television, cable, etc., they don’t need our tax dollars. Yesterday Lawrence O’Donnell had David Cay Johnston on who talked about the states who allow large businesses like AT&T, Nissan, Toyota, etc., to KEEP the state income taxes that are deducted from their employees. THAT IS WHY SO MANY STATES ARE RUNNING DEFICITS. Just think about that, people are paying these company’s so they can keep their jobs and in some cases are laid off anyway and when you file your tax return and get a refund, NONE OF THAT MONEY EVER WENT TO THE STATES, THE STATES ARE PAYING YOU OUT OF THE GENERAL FUND. Please google David Cay Johnston and see the AP article he published. The list of states are almost all run by GOP Governors.
