I always have the same trouble with the White House stream Isonprize, stoppy-starty and pretty poor quality. Don’t know why, the CNN stream is always perfect.
G’day, Chips! G’day all! Look at isonprize, first! WooHoot! Have a great day, oh man it’s early! Birds are up, though, so am I! now for some hot tea… Mmmmm..
Isn’t he?! I can’t stand him. And it’s not just his cynicism towards this President, it’s his complete lack of disrespect for the office (have you ever seen him in the WH press room? He’s overweight, unkempt, he slouches down in the chair…Ugh!) and lies and misinformation he spreads from his CBS perch. Tiffany network my behind. Bloody hack.
Leave it to Mark Knoller to imply there is some nefarious reason why President Obama is hosting the Easter Egg Roll event. Sheesh……
134 YEARS OF FUN
———————————–
On Monday April 9, 2012, the First Family will host the 134th annual White House Easter Egg Roll. This year’s theme is “Let’s Go, Let’s Play, Let’s Move” and more than 35,000 people will be joining us on the South Lawn for games, stories, and, of course, the traditional egg roll on the Lawn.
In addition to all the fun and games, the day’s activities — which will include sports courts and cooking demonstrations — will help educate families on smart ways to incorporate healthy eating and exercise choices into their daily routines, which are key pillars of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! initiative.
Yes, Knoller is a cynical jerk and I tweeted him and told him so. Plus he’s stupid. A couple of hundred people will make a difference in general election? I don’t think so.
Poor sad creature. Wonder if he has a family? Picture him at the Easter dinner table. Well,…don’t. Silver lining for us – at least he isn’t the ‘father’ or whatever in our family.
@markknoller, Did this comment make you feel better? It must be SAD to be so cynical. Give it a rest and enjoy the day!
I checked to see but I couldn’t find anything, if he’s married or not ….not that I care but he’s really getting on my nerves. He seem to be so jealous of President Obama.
I found this article from 2010.
Mark Knoller of CBS News wins a well-deserved WH Correspondents award for sustained excellence in WHouse coverage
Whenever we are treated to TV coverage of a White House Press conference, Mark Knoller’s warm face – he has a beard – and distinctive voice will be emanating from the second row with a reasonable question. He is a reporter and does not have to get his kicks as a shrill voiced adversary. I am one of thousands who follow his reporting on Twitter. His trademark tweets-in-a-series usually pick up the essential elements of the most complex story in a most rational and readable style. He is a humble, aw-shucks kind of guy who has gotten well-deserved kudos from his fellow journalists. Congrats!
So there you have it.
This is what qualify as ”sustained excellence in WHouse coverage”.
He’s unprofessional, he always tweets his not subtle digs at President Obama, he seem to be extremely jealous. The articles he wrote about the debt were a joke.
He fits right in with the other clowns. Those are not professional ”journalists”. They carry the GOP water and have no shame about it.
The pundit hope it’s good news for Romney. What if the job numbers are better next month, what would this same pundit say? These people are full of alot of B.S., that’s why I do my best not to listen to them.
That is SAD. And these pundits should be ashamed to be heard publicly announcing that a Presidential candidate is banking on bad news for the majority of AMericans to get him in the WH.
As a candidate President Obama had a vision for the kind of America he wanted, and he’s been working on it as President from day 1 with a deeply thought out and carefully executed strategy. President Obama is able to articulate his vision and inspire multitudes of people both here in America and across the world. We are now glimpsing portions of that vision as his policies take effect, and we know that we would be seeing a lot more weren’t it for the GOP and their dishonest media propaganda machine.
Romney on the other hand doesn’t have anything remotely close to what someone could identify as a vision or a plan. He’s simply relying on “bad news” or on the corporate media to spin their reports with an anti-Obama slant, while protecting him. Many of Romney’s pals – including Netanyahu want him to win because they dislike PBO or they selfishly anticipate personal favors from Willard, not because they see him as being a great President who would improve the lives of millions of ordinary American citizens.
PBO’s supporters in contrast want him to win because they see him as a great President who can move this country forward in the way that it needs to be. They are inspired and enthusiastic to give him another 4 more years, because they like what they’ve seen so far, and would like to see more, not less. That will drive them to the polls in droves in November, regardless of what antics Romney and his MSM cronies engage in.
‘As a candidate President Obama had a vision for the kind of America he wanted, and he’s been working on it as President from day 1 with a deeply thought out and carefully executed strategy.
Romney on the other hand doesn’t have anything remotely close to what someone could identify as a vision or a plan. He’s simply relying on “bad news” or on the corporate media to spin their reports with an anti-Obama slant,’
EXACTLY, Hf!
I’m banking on the majority of Americans seeing the stark contrast, no matter how the media tries to prop up old Willard.
The Obama administration is quietly diverting roughly $500 million to the IRS to help implement the president’s healthcare law.
The money is only part of the IRS’s total implementation spending, and it is being provided outside the normal appropriations process. The tax agency is responsible for several key provisions of the new law, including the unpopular individual mandate.
Republican lawmakers have tried to cut off funding to implement the healthcare law, at least until after the Supreme Court decides whether to strike it down. That ruling is expected by June, and oral arguments last week indicated the justices might well overturn at least the individual mandate, if not the whole law.
The Rock n’ Egg Roll Stage performers are just terrific. This just makes me melt to see the whippersnappers having so much fun at the White House. I can’t wait to see the first family. And where’s my delicious, most well groomed first dog “Bo”? I don’t know how it’s possible for him to be so cute. Those cockeyed white socks crack me up every time I see them.
Oil prices are down to 1.01 today. Good chance it goes below 100 today.
Rewind to last year, oil was 115 per barrel, and gas prices were the same as today.
Interesting!
dots, I just finished reading that NYT article about the relationship between Romney and Netanyahu and it made me sick. Romney bows down to BiBi at every turn. Disgusting and terrifying.
// Mr. Netanyahu insists that he is neutral in the presidential election, but he has at best a fraught relationship with President Obama. For years, the prime minister has skillfully mobilized many Jewish groups and Congressional Republicans to pressure the Obama administration into taking a more confrontational approach against Iran.
“To the extent that their personal relationship would give Netanyahu entree to the Romney White House in a way that he doesn’t now have to the Obama White House,” Mr. Indyk said, “the prime minister would certainly consider that to be a significant advantage.” //
This just make my blood boil. Romney is a puppet. Whenever I hear any news about Netanyahu’s shenanigans, I am reminded of this article in the New York Times back in January. I can’t get it out of my head. Very disturbing indeed…….
Don’t Do It, Bibi
By ROGER COHEN
——————————
PARIS — A U.S. ambassador in Europe was recently asked by an Israeli ambassador what could be done to improve the lousy relations between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Obama. He replied: “Every once in a while, say thank you.”
The American ambassador added a couple of other thoughts. “Maybe, once in a while, ask the president if there’s anything you can do for him. And above all stay out of our election-year politics.”
This sharp riposte reflects Obama’s fury at several things: the way Netanyahu has gone over his head to a Republican-dominated Congress where he is a darling; Netanyahu’s ingratitude for solid U.S. support, including the veto of an anti-settlements resolution at the United Nations last year and opposition to the unilateral Palestinian pursuit of statehood; the delaying tactics of Netanyahu reflecting his conviction Obama is likely a one-term president; and Netanyahu’s refusal to pause a second time in settlement building for the sake of peace negotiations.
Good grief. I really wish that creature would keep his nose out of other countries’ business. And I would have thought he’s the last man on earth you should consult for information on the Iran situation.
I don’t understand why this is ok….Romney is just a private citizen right now, running to unseat the President. Hell, he isn’t even the NOMINEE YET!!! WTH????
He won’t be the President, so you are dam right he won’t make any policy decisions. Is Mitt that dam stupid, how is he going to make any decisions when President Obama will still be the President.
Exactly, if he wants to”play president” with Bibi like a couple of 3 year olds in the sandbox, then go ahead. But neither he nor Bibi will be running this country. Not now – not ever.
Romney “says he would not make any significant policy decisions about Israel without consulting Netanyahu”?
Oh wow. So if he became President, Romney would consult with Netanyahu on the possibility of an Israel/Iran war, and would allow him influence his decision-making on the issue?
As if there weren’t enough reasons already to re-elect PBO….
Good lord. He’s announcing he doesn’t have the brains to make policy decision and has to consult with a foreign power. He’s also pretty much saying he’ll start a way with Iran on Netanyahu’s signal? So when Nettie says jump, Romeny will say, how high. This guy isn’t fit to lead a Boy Scout troop, let alone a nation.
This is also why you don’t see Republicans pushing foreign policy, they KNOW that President Obama proved them wrong by hunting down and killing Osama bin Laden and a bunch of Al Qaeda leaders, whereas the previous Republican President who was supposedly “tough” on foreign policy didn’t care and sent 4000+ troops to THE WRONG battlefield for NO REASON AT ALL!
You know, when the entire RW of this country is sliming PBO for bowing down and apologizing and whatever, there’s this a-hole who would shine Bibi’s shoes if he had the chance. Netanyahu helped him run Massachusetts! They’ve known each other since 1976.
After the “open mic” iincident, Romney wanted PBO to release all notes and transcripts of his meetigns with the Russians so that we could be sure PBO wasn’t making scret deals to sell out the US. Aside from the sheer ludicrousness of such an idea, I wonder how Romney would react to a demand that he release all notes and transcripts of his discussions with Bibi. After all, maybe he is going to sell out the US. You can be sure that Romney would refuse to do so, just like he is refusing to make complete financial disclosures.
Don’t fret, I enjoyed Elmo too. I found myself shaking my arm, my leg, my head, my thumb, and singing along too. I am sure it must be lots of fun to be there. Right now I’m humming the Easter Bonnet. 🙂
I have a confession to make guys, I’m in love with ELMO. I can’t help it. That voice turns me into mush. And he is so funny. He is one of my favorite Muppet characters. My daughter grew up on Sesame Street. Gordon looks fantastic. Below is a link to a PBS Hour presentation on the man behind the voice. It’s just delightful.
‘Being Elmo’: The Man Behind the Muppet
—————————-
Chances are you’ve heard Kevin Clash many, many times and don’t even realize it. He is everywhere. You’ve heard his voice on TV, and if you have children you’ve heard it coming from one of their toys, one of the most popular ever, over and over and over again. You’ve tickled him.
Clash is Elmo.
Clash began making puppets at age 10 and performed in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor as a teenager. He came to Sesame Street after attracting the attention of Muppet designer Kermit Love and became an official puppeteer on the show in 1984. He’s won nine Emmy Awards for his skills and now serves as Sesame Street’s “Muppet captain” and co-executive producer.
Too Funny Ladyhawke, I just posted the same thing. I don’t know what it is about him but anytime I see him I just stop everything I’m doing and watch him with a big ole smile on my face. I’m suppose to be working but I was just glued to my computer watching him perform. Its the weirdest thing because no other character does this to me. 🙂
Employer empowerment is especially blatant with the Republican-sponsored Blunt Amendment, which would have allowed employers who offer health insurance to disallow just about any specific coverage on the basis of moral objection. There are business owners who have a “moral objection” to spending money on employees, so you can imagine their employer-provided polices. Aspirin, anybody?
And in Colorado, we’ve seen another example of Republican employer empowerment. Democratic state Sen. Morgan Carroll sponsored a bill to limit the use of credit reports in evaluating job applicants. This was attacked by Republicans as infringing on employers’ rights to snoop.
The unions are once again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, smearing the candidate who is more than capable of beating Scott Walker, and supporting an unelectable candidate… FOOLS!
Btw- it’s NSA that knows that Netenyahu called Robney, they monitor all those calls.
Thus, that Ny Times Article was probably leaked by Plouffe or Jarrett. And that is fine with me…
Just saying.
That is why incumbents have the advantage.
Jack Kennedy used the IRS to audit all his opponents.
I would love this President to get ruthless, like that -with Willard!
Protestors opposed to Florida’s “stand your ground” gun law are targeting Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).
A group called the “Dream Defenders” plans to assemble on Monday at noon outside Rubio’s local office to protest his support for the law.
The protest is just the latest sign that anger over the February shooting of Trayvon Martin, and the likelihood that the issue will continue to be a topic of conversation in Washington when Congress returns next week.
FYI- the one thing I will say about Israel and Japan, is that this President built up their Air to Air missle defense.
Israel even calls their air missle defense iron dome!
These Patriot 3 missles can defeat anything from Iran, even the technology from China and Russia.
Japan can also defeat anything from NK, which is the next potential crisis.
So, if these 2 Countries have defense against these rogue Countries, then why are they so insecure? In particular, Israel maybe just playing politics, on a lot of levels.
Just saying.
Totally agree! I was noticing in that tweet Chips shared how not too many smiling faces were surrounding the two ‘performers’. Since I’ve become used to the Obamas spreading happiness by their very presence I find I pay more attention to the dour faces that Repub presence evoke over…and over… and over again. This seems to have been the case OVER THE YEARS, not just this election year.
Authoritarian people have a stronger emotional need for an outlet like Fox, where they can find affirmation and escape factual challenges to their beliefs.
Good Morning Chips and TOD Family..What a beautiful day in D.C. I am glad to see the beginning but have to go to work soon. Thank you Chipsticks for posting the WH Feed.
Mitt Romney’s campaign is pulling negative ads against Rick Santorum from Pennsylvania while the former Senator looks after his ailing daughter, Bella, according to ABC News.
Pennsylvania is considered Santorum’s last best chance to swing momentum his way as Romney marches towards presumptive nominee status. In general, Romney has shifted focus towards President Obama and away from Santorum in recent days – his campaign has mentioned his GOP rival in a press release only once in the last week after frequently sending out attacks several times a day when the race was considered more competitive.
===
FL Michelle Obama is really really really rocking the heck out of the color-blocking fashion trend. It blows my mind how fashionable and on trend she is. Gives me so many ideas. 🙂

It certainly is looking to be a very sunny day.
I am now watching the Whitehouse and CNN stream.
see? I was so shocked at the emply thread, I didn’t even see the links posted. I’m on CNN live now. (White House links are always sketchy for me, stop, start, stop start, so I don’t even bother any more. Wonder why that is? oh well…)
I always have the same trouble with the White House stream Isonprize, stoppy-starty and pretty poor quality. Don’t know why, the CNN stream is always perfect.
Yeah baby, Haven’t been first in a while. How is all my fam in TODville this morning?
Congrats and good luck as you go Easter egg hunting, Ison! 😉

The President meets Brazilian President today, to talk about energy-

Mark Knoller is being very disgusting on Twitter. He needs to be given an STFU Easter chocolate rabbit.
Example:
Mark Knoller is a cynical JERK!
Congratulations isonprize for your “first”.
GM, all. Hope your Easter was delightful and empowering.
Isn’t he?! I can’t stand him. And it’s not just his cynicism towards this President, it’s his complete lack of disrespect for the office (have you ever seen him in the WH press room? agreed, just tweeted him in response about being such a nasty rightwinger. He’s disgusting.
Hopefruit,
Take notice, all these, and I mean ALL, are former George W. Bush supporters who feel that Bush was treated unfairly by the Press.
I think I read that somewhere. The question is, does GW have that much influence to stack the WH press corpses with bitter freaks?
He’s something else Hopefruit, he’s given up even trying to hide his contempt.
https://twitter.com/#!/___Chips___/status/189333424622927873
That’s good, way better than mine.
Haha! Perfect! Did Dubbya go through his entire presidency always looking like such a goof? My goodness.
And that was one of the kinder photos Hachiko! In most of them the Easter Bunny’s face reads: “What a friggin’ moron.”
heehee…at least w looks like he’s about to actually DO something in this photo, instead of simply being confused.
He is unprofessional…..
Agree, Linda. Unprofessional + cynical = a miserable human being.
Maybe someone could tell him ugly is as ugly does, just a reminder. Yuck.
Leave it to Mark Knoller to imply there is some nefarious reason why President Obama is hosting the Easter Egg Roll event. Sheesh……

I just heard a pundit on the Bloomberg channel say that the lousy jobs report is good news fir Willard.
That should be in an ad. Right?
Yes, Romney gleeful over bad news. Every one should know that a major presidential candidate is routing for unemployment.
He’s not worried. His money is parked in the Cayman Islands.
I tweeted your statement, it’s so good.

The oral arguments indicated no such thing…. The Hill is a right wing rag
With a lot of relevant information. I think everybody realizes this Court is a Political Court!

Etch a Sketch should release all of his tax returns first before he demands President Obama release anything!
I have to tweet that. Thanks, Japa21.
So mehmney is now “bowing” to Israel’s rulers?
But but but Fox News said that President Obama bows to Muslims and is an apologist for the Muslim world!
Good morning TOD Family. Let’s go, let’s play and let’s move.
I have a crush on Elmo…now its no longer a secret 😳
Don’t fret, I enjoyed Elmo too. I found myself shaking my arm, my leg, my head, my thumb, and singing along too. I am sure it must be lots of fun to be there. Right now I’m humming the Easter Bonnet. 🙂
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE…LET THE EGGS ROLL…………REVVVVV UP THE YOLKS…LINE UP THE YELLOWS…IT’S TIME TO MOVE!

The RNC attempting to spin the President’s attacks on Etch a Sketch against him. They are in desperation mode!

Sorry for Huffyfluffy link, it’s the only link I found!
Short, but excellent MUST READ. Won’t be any more clear than this! RW is all about EMPLOYER EMPOWERMENT,NOT WORKER EMPOWERMENT!
http://www.denverpost.com/quillen/ci_20335828/unemployment-works-gop
Cain Endorses Allen West For Vice President
http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entries/herman-cain-endorses-allen-west-for-vice-presdient?ref=fpb
Waiting for Fox News to say Cain is a racist for endorsing a “black…”
Mitt Romney the Mormon have a black man as his VP. I don’t think so. Romney’s church might not like that to much.
The West pick just might work for Romney, after all, wasn’t it Ann Coulter that said “Our blacks are better than their blacks?”
That statement by Ann Coulter is just so incredibly disgusting.
What she meant was “better behaved”. Menaing they followed the instructions of their masters better.

I can only imagine the file they have on Romney. UGH.
That is why incumbents have the advantage.
Jack Kennedy used the IRS to audit all his opponents.
I would love this President to get ruthless, like that -with Willard!
US Treasury to auction 66 B in debt; begins Tuesday, with 32B of 3- Yr notes!
That will bring in some revenue!
Good morning TOD family. How unusual for me to sleep-in. Enjoy the Easter egg roll on this fine Easter Monday.
Sleepy head 🙄
Morning Ourmanflint!
I barely stumbled. Into the kitchen!! And I had no drinks last night. LOL
Exactly what I have always believed
Yes. Sometimes they “doth protest too much” 🙂
That is what Freud thinks Too!
Rick Santorum, much? 😎
Is Elmo saying Ho Ho Ho? 😆
(Elmo frightens me. But that’s just between you and me, UT)
Whaaaat??? That sweetheart? E.T. freaks the heck out of me…..and seems to make you blush with his “hotness.” You’re a strange one Chips. 😉
Protestors opposed to Florida’s “stand your ground” gun law are targeting Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).
A group called the “Dream Defenders” plans to assemble on Monday at noon outside Rubio’s local office to protest his support for the law.
The protest is just the latest sign that anger over the February shooting of Trayvon Martin, and the likelihood that the issue will continue to be a topic of conversation in Washington when Congress returns next week.
http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/senate/220503-rubio-targeted-for-florida-protest-over-stand-your-ground-law
I just realized the guy on stage right now is Lou Gossett Jr. Wow.
Omg…Now that you mentioned it…. 🙂
Soooo Jovie. How are things ?
Heads up for the President:

Hey guys if the CNN or WH feed is messing up, MSNBC will air PBO’s and FLOTUS’s remarks LIVE when they commence.
PBO & FLOTUS next!
Okay, I don’t recall being so excited about a WH Easter egg roll prior to 2009. What happened?
The birds are chirping and Spring is in the air. It looks like a beautiful day for this event.
We got adults who know how to relate with children and excite children and we got rid of a child who thought acting like a clown made him relatable.
Looks like a gorgeous day in DC.
http://www.alternet.org/media/154875/the_science_of_fox_news%3A_why_its_viewers_are_the_most_misinformed/
Authoritarian people have a stronger emotional need for an outlet like Fox, where they can find affirmation and escape factual challenges to their beliefs.
The Obamas must be on Chicago time. *Impatiently waiting*
Now the feed is freezing. *Heavy sigh*
To me they are worth the wait. 🙂
Jessica. they’ve been rolling eggs for a while now…
The Easter Bunny is on stage!
Good Morning Chips and TOD Family..What a beautiful day in D.C. I am glad to see the beginning but have to go to work soon. Thank you Chipsticks for posting the WH Feed.
Ha! This says it all.
https://twitter.com/Maggyw519/status/189361690276659200
All the Obama women look so spring-like in their bright colors. Love it!
I had a similar thought UTAL; they sure know how to ‘brighten’ the day. 😆 😆
Test
Damn, guess my gravatar is gone forever.
Hi amk, I can see your very lovely Bo pic – isn’t that your gravatar??
Yes chips, it’s weird. It wasn’t there before. So I went & uploaded the pic again. Then put up the test post. It wasn’t there then. Now it’s their.

You’re looking good amk. Isn’t this the one you always used?
Thanks donna. Yes, that was my pic.
The Wisteria on the stair railing is beautiful……
How about that young girl who sung the National Anthem? She was great.
There goes a little boy Republican – not willing to work with anyone. 😉 Missing the fun now.
Whoa I rudely got switched from the egg roll to a band. Anyone know who they are?
I call foul! FL Michelle Obama totally helped that little girl win. Hahahahahahaha. The kids are so hilarious. 😆 😆 😆
Where are you watching UT? Like Melanie, I suddenly got interrupted to a band playing from the WH feed. 😦
Hey HF2 Click on Storytime Stage. The whole family including Bo are reading a book to kids
THANKS! Got it 🙂
I’ve been looking carefully, but I haven’t spotted College Kay yet. Anyone seen her yet? 😉 😉 😉
TA-DA!
Collegekay, you are as cute as a button.
Bummer, I like the singing, but I wanted to see the egg roll. I wonder who won. Maybe they will go back to it later.
PBO and the family are now on the story time stage. Click on Storytime stage to see them.
Thanks for pointing this out to me as I was stuck in one spot, assuming everything would pass me by if I sat still. 😆
In general, Romney has shifted focus towards President Obama and away from Santorum in recent days – his campaign has mentioned his GOP rival in a press release only once in the last week after frequently sending out attacks several times a day when the race was considered more competitive.

pathetic….
Is there a link to Obama’s introduction to “To Kill a Mockingbird”? – thanks
Malia and Sasha are growing up to be such nice young girls. Well mannered, they read better than many adults!!
REAL FAMILY VALUES ON DISPLAY. I LOVE MY FIRST FAMILY!!!!
FL Michelle Obama is really really really rocking the heck out of the color-blocking fashion trend. It blows my mind how fashionable and on trend she is. Gives me so many ideas. 🙂
UT,. The Obama women are so SPRINGY!!! And there’s dad in his khakis and favorite blue checked shirt. Love them!!

Ahhhh…..here comes the reading and roaring and growling of “Where The Wild things Are.” 😆
Bo is such a well behaved little angel! Look at him sitting there with FLOTUS.
He really is a sweetheart. He loves his FLOTUS.
One year, FLOTUS said that PBO is Max!! That was my son’s FAVORITE bedtime book.
I LOVE PBO’s connection with kids. They know that he is for real.
Bo is so cute!! POTUS asks the young kids to growl and Bo started barking!!
That was hysterical. So funny. The girls are just lovely.
PBO is practically in fits of laughter reading Where The Wild Things Are. I love this family. They’re all so relatable!
He is such a kick.. he had me cracking up.. and BO even getting into the story too 🙂
I’m getting a toothache just watching him. He’s the best. And now FLOTUS is being absolutely swarmed with children who want to hug her.
ha ! meta I just said much the same thing.. they’re all so sweet they make me cry (in a good way)
I sure hope this works….Here is our very own CollegeKay volunteering at the WH Easter Egg Roll this morning. (Chips if it doesn’t show, can you plz post the pic -Thx)
