Ewww. Didn’t see Hardball, but now I’m picturing Joan Walsh’s two faces and fake smile. Gotta go look at something pretty, to erase that image.
Oh, I know, my son just brought me a humongous Easter lilly, my favorite. I’ll go look at that, again. Love that (43-y/o – they’re so cute at that age) kid! I remember when he was a little boy and I’d ask (on purpose) if he had a card for me on some holiday, and he’d say yes and then dash off to his bedroom to draw something on kraft paper or the back of an envelope, hurriedly, pretending he had it all along. He’s come a long way!
oh I’m glad to hear about Helene.. I still have the postcard I received from her on my bedroom mirror- she sent that when I donated to her Obama fund in 07 or 08 .. tell her that “SheriFreedomofReligionHusseinObama” from OFA blog.. said Helllo Helene 🙂
I will sherijr, just had a note today, and I still have my postcard of Paris as well…. So pretty! She could do that again, while she is waving her Women For Obama placard in the cafes and streets of Paree! 🙂
Yes, she has surfaced, loves her WFO stuff I sent! Am encouraging her to come here to TOD, but she seems reluctant, has a dream if the old OFA blog coming back into a refuge, told her I don’t think it will happen. Safer here. We shall see…
sherijr and Pamela – Yes, I have my postcards, too. She wasn’t able to contribute and as I recall she earned a lot of dollars by our direct contributions for the campaign by doing that. Since I love French (not that I understand it, but for a few words from high school!), I asked her, after one of the donations, if she’d write it out for me in French – and she did. It’s a treasure (as is Hélène), although I had forgotten about that postcard and really should have it translated one of these days!
Hi everyone, I’m just reading your comments about Helene. I am was mainly a lurker on the OFA site through 3 years (?) I remember Helene, I did not know she lived in Paris, but knew here as being from France. I always looked forward to reading her comments and warm regards for President Obama. When the site so abruptly changed ( took me a couple of days to have the patience to figure out how to get to the blog.) I missed reading comments from soooo many folks and Helene from France was one of them. I recall a few weeks in there was more than one thread hoping she’d find her way back to OFA. It’s funny how people can make an immpression on you, and you’ve never or shared much of the personal. Yes! Tell her she would fit right in here.
Someone posted a link here for the Chicago HQ then and now pics. I had a chance to read a few comments. Some things never change, a couple of them were STILL fighting Bradley the troll! I did see Mwrbi(?) and I remember him(?) as being such of an excellent source of legislative information. In fact when the site changed sooo abruptly, without any notice I was pouting because there was information I would have saved eventually, as I did not have a computer at home.
Fond, fond memories :smile . I read some good info there my last visit and have promised I will check them out at least once a week, even though my heart now belongs to TOD. You all are so special, thank you for being here! Thank you Ms. Chips for starting this wonderful site and all the time and effort you put into making it so special!
Yay! Elo4obama/Biden! Good to see you again, happy to see your response. I had so little time in ’08 to blog, it became too discouraging to read the blog when it was all about fighting trolls. I went over to BWD, for a few months, then followed her over here. I will never leave, it has become a solace and a source of valid and trusted information. I still don’t have much time, but now with iPad, I can peek in during the day…. Lurk, of course, but do comment as well, it means so much to all of us!
Hey Chris Hayes, the reason this Administration told the Far left to be Team Players and to Help out with the messaging, is because the Far left was incredibly disrespectful and were void of how things work in DC.
Bottom line- it seemed more times than not, Mr Hayes, that the Far Left was just trying to clip the Presidents Wings and not helping to succeed.
I remember!
WASHINGTON — With a Republican opponent all but chosen and the general election campaign about to start, President Obama is preparing to emphasize an issue that few Democratic candidates have embraced in the past: national security, long the domain of the Republican Party.
This is just plain wrong…The Easter Egg Roll is for children….
A New Mexico gay couple is planning to use the White House’s annual Easter Egg roll as an opportunity to confront President Obama in hopes he’ll sign an executive order banning workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation.
Jarrod Scarbrough and Les Sewell, who have been together for 18 years, are taking their 8-year-old daughter to the White House’s annual event on Monday, when they plan to press Obama on the proposed executive order. An email statement from LGBT advocacy group Get Equal cites recent reports which indicate that this Executive Order has been approved by both the Department of Justice and the Department of Labor, and is simply awaiting the president’s signature. If made law, the order would protect federal contractors from discrimination on the basis of gender identity or sexual orientation.
“I work for a federal contractor, and there’s a piece of paper sitting on President Obama’s desk that would give me a little more security for my family,” Scarbrough, an employee of United Healthcare, is quoted as saying. “As so many families gather on the White House lawn next week, I hope that the First Family takes a moment to reflect on how hard gay families like mine work to ensure that we have the stability and security that so many others take for granted.
I have noticed the Left wing special interests, use WH events to get their message out.
Last one was PETA getting outraged about the Easter egg roll.
Pathetic!
I really hope his people are aware of this and keep these mwn well away from PBO. the Easter egg hunt is for PBO, his wife and his girls. They get to relax somewhat without asses harassing them.
I’m aware that it’s for kids, however, it’s one of the first family’s less stressful events. Miche, PBO and the girls help to entertain but they get in a few laughs together. Either way, the two men should know better than to approach the president in this setting.
I doubt if these two will get a chance to speak to President Obama. Anyone who has attended the Easter Egg Roll knows that the invitees come in groups because so many people have received the invitation. The number of people who interact with The First Family directly is not as big as the total invited.
Most families get to participate in the numerous events that occur on the White House grounds.
The President’s staff also monitors the complaints of invited guests and by putting their intents out there, these two may have just guaranteed that they will NOT cross paths with The First Family
I hope they are kept at a distance, as this venue is an inappropriate setting for complaining about ANYTHING. But we all know if their fantasy of ‘confronting’ the best President in US history comes true, he will be his genuine caring, compassionate and responsive self, he will listen and accept their demand for his attention. God bless President Obama every day in his undertaking of the massive number of issues he is faced with. And God bless our TOD family. I gotta go to work! 🙂
Hmmm….isn’t United Healthcare a sponsor of ALEC? Could this be their ploy to just embarrass the President? I’m getting more cynical daily. Must stop…must stop…
Good morning, Ladyhawke. It’s still pretty early here on the West Coast and since it’s the weekend, very quiet as well. Should be gorgeous weather. Hope all is well with you.
Good Morning Meta, another West Coast early riser here. Hello my sweet TOD family and Chips. I hope everyone have a beautiful day. It is such a beautiful morning on the West Coast. Sunny, bright, and just plain beautiful. I hope the WH will also be beautiful for the Easter Egg Roll.
I hope that they will take that couple from NM and roll their asses right off of the WH lawn and send a few rotten eggs with them. What a disgusting attitude to bring to such a lovely event. The families and children are not there for politics. Will some people NOT ever learn to stop trying to boss and stuff things down POB’s throa? He can think for himself, and he has not exculded anyone in trying to make things equal for all people. People need to wake up and start enjoying the beautiful things we have accomplished through this Administration and stop trying to be spoilers at lovely events to get their politicial points across. I am sick of this crap.
Yes, my pressure went up when I read that article. How dare they try to spoil the President’s and those precious children and their appreciative families time at such a lovely event. They can stay home ,and suck on rotten eggs as far as I am concerned. Yes, I am in pain this morining (two days now), and I am not in the mood for their crap.
Please forgive me TOD family and Chips. Please Chips, I am sorry, but I just get so full and tired of all of the crap that has been thrown at him this week. KR and his ugly remarks, and fat LimBAR just makes the ugly cry come out in me. But I will be just fine. You can just take so much sometimes.
Have a beautiful day, everyone((((((((((((((((((((( I really do love my TOD Family)))))))))))))))))))))) HZ
Oh HZ I’m so sorry you’re in pain today.. if anyone deserves to be pain free, its you my dear. No need for apologies… your comment: “roll their asses right off of the WH lawn and send a few rotten eggs with them. What a disgusting attitude to bring to such a lovely event. The families and children are not there for politics” is PERFECTO in my wee opinion.. I’m with you on that all the way 🙂
I will be sending you all the positive thoughts I have for a pain free day~ take care, rest if you can.
Have a good day everyone, I’ll be back & forth between muck shoveling.. just to check in and see whats what today 😉 the weather here in ND is also just beautiful.. its chilly of course.. but we were supposed to have snow today.. so to see the blue skies & sunshine is fabulous !
Thanks for sharing your beautiful soul with us, HZ. I love your graceful spirit and determination. We are stronger than all of the haters and the dissatisfied combined!! xoxo.
WASHINGTON — Top executives at three companies bailed out by U.S. taxpayers during the 2008 financial crisis were ordered to take pay cuts by the federal government.
The Treasury Department says nearly 70 executives at American International Group Inc., Ally Financial Inc. and General Motors Co. had their annual compensation reduced by 10 percent. The CEOs of each company had their pay frozen at 2011 levels.
All three companies have yet to repay what they received from the $700 billion bailout and therefore are subject to pay cuts.
AIG still owes taxpayers around $50 billion. General Motors owes about $25 billion. Ally Financial about $12 billion.
Even with the compensation freeze, the chief executives are expected to be well paid this year.
General Motors CEO Daniel F. Akerson is expected to earn $9 million in stock and salary this year. Ally Financial’s CEO Michael A. Carpenter is set to earn $9.5 million in total compensation. AIG CEO Robert Benmosche will make $10.5 million.
Akerson has criticized the pay limits, saying GM is losing some of its top talent in its executive ranks because of the government-imposed rules. The Detroit automaker received $49.5 billion from the government in 2008 and 2009.
“It’s the reality we have to live with, as long as we’re under the restrictions,” said GM spokesman Jim Cain.
In a statement, Ally Financial said pay for its executives “continues to be in line with the stated guidelines” for bailed-out companies and the company is “squarely focused on delivering value for shareholders and repaying the remaining U.S. Treasury investment.”
AIG declined to comment on the pay changes.

I can’t believe the GM CEO has the nerve to complain that he will only make 9 million….
Its the reality we have to live with…. like its a problem. Its like a pro athlete rejecting a 10 million per year salary saying… I have to take care of my family…
Oh and I’m sure, Linda, the Secret Service is just going to let them stroll up and start petitioning the president and first lady. What planet do these people live on? If I were in the SS, I’d stop them at the gate and direct them to a presidential assistant and that’s just because this is the Obama administration. Any other administration would stop them and turn them away. These people are only embarrassing themselves–they are so amazingly ignorant of protocol.
You mean losing ALL those talented people who brought them to the verge of bankrupcy? ALL those talented people who had to go BEGGING to the government for a bail out? In my opinion as a benefactor to these people who are complaining, I would say — TAKE A WALK!
Massachusetts regulators approved Northeast Utilities’ proposed $5 billion purchase of Boston-based NStar on Wednesday, clearing the way for the formation of one of the biggest U.S. utility companies with 3.5 million electric and gas customers in three states.
The state Department of Public Utilities approved the NStar purchase two days after Connecticut regulators approved the deal.
The two states had already negotiated agreements with the companies that set the stage for these approvals. In Massachusetts, Northeast Utilities and NStar agreed – among other things – to give ratepayers a $21 million credit and to buy more than a quarter of the power that would be produced by the proposed Cape Wind offshore wind farm as conditions of the deal.
A spokeswoman for Gov. Deval Patrick’s administration said the onetime credit would equal $7 to $11 for typical residential customers in Massachusetts. But the Cape Wind deal could eliminate those savings within a year, as it would cost customers at least $1 a month after the wind farm is built in Nantucket Sound.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE…WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY IT IS TODAY…THE SUN IS SHINING…AND TOMORROW WE WILL BE JOYFUL…THE ROCK SHALL MOVE AGAIN IN OUR HEARTS AS WE CELEBRATE OUR PRECIOUS,PRICELESS LORD’S RESURRECTION…I PRAY THAT ALL WILL UNDERSTAND THE BEAUTIFUL AND TENDER MEANING OF THIS DAY! I WISH THE PRESIDENT AND OUR FIRST FAMILY A HEARTWARMING PEACE ON THIS GLORIOUS WEEKEND!
Thought this was interesting—-In. Gov. Mitch Daniels, whom the Repub establishment begged to enter the presidential race, has “misplaced” $526 million—–that’s a half a billion that the state lost somewhere—-causing all kinds of problems for local governments etc. This was one of their candidates with “business experience” that they thought would be really great at solving our country’s economic problems??? http://www.indystar.com/article/20120406/NEWS08/204060370/?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|IndyStar.com|p
gop repeatedly convinces itself that they have the answer to challenge President Obama but once the person is scrutinized, they cramble before our very eyes.
what rightwingers do not want to face is that President Obama holds the presidency because people evaluated him and found him to be very qualified and very compasionate to lead the world at this time of turmoil. PBO is simply the best
well, the repugs are very talented in this particular skill–‘losing’ billions of dollars. remember the 6 billion in cash they sent in shrink-wrapped pallets to iraq, and then misplaced? supposedly that was later accounted for, but only part of it. this article, which is trying to put the issue to rest, says:
‘ the inspectors are still trying to piece together the fate of some of the few hundred million that u.s. officials stowed at one of saddam hussein’s former palaces. ‘
yep, that’s a ‘few hundred million’ they just can’t seem to find, like when your reading glasses are right on top of your head–or maybe hiding in your pocket.
Of course we all know that Eric Cantor is a corrupt SLIMEbucket weasel and a snake and now he’s making his colleagues crazy, too.
Eric Cantor donation roils House GOP
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor went into damage control mode Friday following the revelation that he contributed $25,000 to a super PAC devoted to defeating incumbent House members — including numerous Republicans.
The news of Cantor’s contribution to the Campaign for Primary Accountability, first reported by Roll Call Friday afternoon and confirmed by a spokesman for the super PAC, was said to have taken party leaders by surprise. House Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, and National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions, knowledgeable aides said, had not received advance word that the contribution had been made.
[snip]
CPA has caused widespread consternation on Capitol Hill after spending $132,000 to run ads against Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio), who lost unexpectedly in a March 6 primary, and more than $203,000 against Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.). In addition to expenditures against a handful of incumbent Democrats, the super PAC has spent funds to unseat Rep. Jo Bonner (R-Ala.) and is currently involved in efforts against Rep. Tim Murphy (R-Pa.), who faces a primary challenge on April 24.
###
So Cantor is trying to fill the House with more people who will toe his line. Boehner needs a fresh supply of crying towels, stat.
I do not believe Boehner has the power with the rank and file House members. It is more likely for Cantor to replace Boehner at some point. Boehner likes the prestige of the postion, but Cantor really wants the power.
Cantor is now front and center in the power lane, in Boehner’s face. He’s aligned with the extremist NO compromise crowd and wants to be their leader. This could push the internal revolt further.
Karma is a beautiful thing sometimes. In this case, it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person. First he bets against the U.S. economy & treasury bonds. Now this? Hahahahahaha.
Off with his head! Out with this mofo… What more do they need for this f-er to be sacked. Good grief…. This is abusive and criminal. He had better get more than a slap on the wrist for this.
I’m catching up from a few days. My computer keeps freezing on me. I started reading about Haicho and was simply devastated. I started reading night before last and fell asleep because I had to read so many threads to find out how to help her. I’m relieved to see she is doing better. Last night again I started reading and fell asleep again.
I did learn about a paypal account. I haven’t finished the other threads; but did see your e-mail address. I am curious is there a way I can donate prepaid credit cards or gift cards. I am retired and don’t have much. I can’t bear the thought of her being without.
I will e-mail you before this computer blows up. Thank you for being there for her and so many others; particulary me.
Right now I am tripping on Van Jones .I am very disappointed in him. I’ve seen some of the comment here about him hoping it wouldn’t be true.
Happy Easter weekend everyone. We are blessed with the most beautiful spring weather today–clear skies, mild temperature, no wind–and flowers everywhere. I hope everyone enjoys the pleasure of being with family this weekend and feeling refreshed in body and spirit. We have so many battles ahead of us and so many miles to go that we can sometimes get very weary just thinking about them. But today offers a time of respite and hope. I still remember the excitement of waking up as a child on Easter morning and feeling the magic in the air. I held firm to the idea of an Easter bunny long after I doubted Santa (slow child) and there was always the excitement of a new outfit to wear to church. I hope everybody’s Sunday–no matter what your faith–is filled with that sense of something special. Take a whiff of spring and fill your heart with joy!
If I knew how to do it, I’d post a pic of the Easter bunny right here.
Sherijr, thanks for your lovely comments about my pain. My meds are working great now. Feel no pain now. Sherijr, remember how we use to have our little outfits for the morning service, and then came home to get ready for the “Easter Parade.” We had to march in the parade twirling the batons and kicking the boots high. What fun, we had, and all that. Then the Big Easter Egg Hunt in the yard.
Fun, fun days. They still have the Easter Parade in my hometown. Now, my great nieces enjoy it all. Still remember it all.
I Remember we had to get our hair done on Sat.(an all day hot combs burning the hair) and then go home and make sure the outfits were done beatutifully. Shoes polished, socks new and nice. It was a great time. I hope all of the grandchildren of all of our TOD Family members here will have such a beautiful Easter Service at Church or at home, and have a great dinner with family and friends.
((((((((((((((((((((((((( A Beautiful Celebration of Resurrection Day))))))))))))))))))))))))) . Enjoy whatever your beautiful Spiritual Faith is, my TOD Family members. I love you all so very much.HZ
thanks a lot for the link. I saw your earlier post and I followed it. I watched the video of the interview – very interesting to listen to and watch their excitement and appreciation of the visit.
i can see that there is now a concerted effort from ALL corners of the gop to push lil ricky out of the race before mitt the liar looses PA,TX and AR.
in the long term, it is possible that some rightwingers may NOT vote for mitt the liar even though they hate President Obama with a passion. I will very interested to see how many religious goppers stay home on election day
They won’t stay home, they’ll just leave that race blank. No way they’re going to abandon the rest of the ticket because they lack enthusiasm for the top. That would be Democrats who are guilty of that electoral transgression.
Hey guys Kerry Washington the star of the new show on ABC called Scandal and an OFA volunteer & Pres. Obama supporter will be on Melissa Harris Perry’s show today. It starts in a few minutes. So excited.
Hope she replaces the guy from Reason—–who is unbearable in his hyperbole and Cantor type smugness. Why is he on this program? Who thought this was a good idea? Aren’t there enough shows for these rt. wing loonies? Do we have to see them on the tiny minority of left-leaning programs too? UGH!
The Reason Foundation is a self-described “libertarian” [1] think tank. The Reason Foundation’s projects include NewEnvironmentalism.org and Privatization.org, as well as Reason Magazine[2] It is part of the Atlas Economic Research Foundation network.
The Reason Foundation is funded, in part, by what are known as the “Koch Family Foundations,”[3] and David Koch serves as a Reason trustee.
which makes it even more irresponsible and despicable that this Koch-funded looney would be invited to appear to spew nonsense on MHP. Someone either didn’t do their homework as to background—-or looked the other way—-both possibilities shameful.
Morning Lisa and collegekay. I am with you Lisa. That is nice, collegekay. Have all the fun that you can doing this time. What a joy. Have a great day.
Be good to you on this beautiful day. Love you all,HZ
Kerry Washington was amazing! She is an excellent representative for the WH Council On The Arts and a wonderful OFA representative for #Obama2012. She understands the issues like the back of her hand and she called out Romney for backing the Blunt-Rubio Amendment. She also touted President Obama’s accomplishments and urged people to please go out and volunteer city by city, state by state for President Obama’s re-election because he really needs our help and the country desperately needs him.
Well, this is the shortest one in the past two days, I don’t know if everyone is getting tired yet, but having come over here now, I am too beat to stay, so Goodnight, my friends, sweet dreams… Hope to see you on rise and shine Easter Morning! God Bless!
Exhausting day hanging out with visiting family. I was just about to go off to la-la-land, the urge to pop into TOD for a quick peek suddlenly overwhelmed me. Lo and behold, did I hear someone say PAR-TAYYYYY!!! 😀
That made me very sad that those people would shout such vile things and use the “GOD” in the same sentence. It took an African American President to bring this much ugly to the surface in this country.
Just got off Skype with my daughter in Sydney, thought I’d see who the really hard core TODObots are, and now I Know! You guys are so cool! Enjoy the evening, the music is just fabulous! Chips will be sorry she missed it all! Happy Easter, see you in the morning! 🙂 🙂 😉
Thank you, christiMtl, popped back to see how long it took Hopefruit to pass out after dissing me for falling asleep during the par~Tay! Only 3 minutes, HF, and here am I, still trying to stumble off to bed! One day, one night, I will be able to stay up, like a real grown-up, and I will even have a glass of wine! Not tonight tho, but maybe the first weekend in May, I might have a few days off then… Have fun y’all!
I must be the only one who think his impression of Romney is not really good, he doesn’t sound like him at all….I liked what he said though, it was spot on. It’s easy to make fun of the pathological liar,..
No I don’t have Current……I just checked on Google to see who he was, never saw him before, Jim Ward……One that is really good doing impressions is Jimmy Fallon. His Impression of Charlie Sheen was so good.
Stephanie Miller is on Talk Radio on the Internet you can listen to her on KTLK 1150 in the mornings and Jim Ward is one of her Mooks, they banter and make fun of her. Jim Ward does impressions are really good, I suspect now that they are on Current we will be seeing and hearing a lot about Jim Ward. You heard here first!
We have to behave ourselves amk…Chips gave us a pass last time when she was in Korea, this time she might come down hard on us…permanate naughty matts.
I have to make a Sunday brunch tomorrow….I have plenty of stuff but my youngest son’s girlfriend asked me if I could make pancakes., like from scratch…
I said okkkk, not a problem.
There’s 2 things I can’t do even if I have been cooking for years….Pancakes and a cake, well it’s call ”pouding chômeur” in french, my mother makes it with her eyes closed almost….that’s how easy it is…apparently.
I tried and tried….complete disaster….pancakes and that cake…
So I’m looking…
Trying to find the easiest, can’t failed recipe for pancakes…..it’s crazy.
I cannot believe how wide awake I am still…at 2am…..I don’t know if it’s insomnia, I feel fine, ….How great, I’ll be the life of the party tomorrow, I’ll probably fall asleep at the table…
Don’t fight it ChristiMtl…Bunch starts at what, 11:00 am? You might as well start with preparing those items that can be done ahead then do the pancakes, eggs, etc., closer to when folks arrive. Is it buffet, I never did a brunch at home.
I called it brunch because I didn’t know how to translate it in english….I just checked….sugar shack? so typical meal that they serve in a sugar shack….if it makes sense…..
it’s just my little gang and a couple of their friends…..
my mother is coming over this week when she feels better…she’s sick poor thing…..
my older brother as well and the other one is at his chalet…
far away from all the germs….
good morning everyone
Morning ourmanflint, morning everyone ….. well, when you wake up.
This is one of my fave pics of FL Michelle Obama.
utaustinliberal, I love it also.
I see those big eyes, it reminds me of Unforgettable. I guess because of Natalie Cole’s eyes.
Mitt Romney is forgettable in everyway
First!!! Happy Easter, y’all.
Look out gents, I snagged this prize for us!!!!!!
🙂 And in the interests of gender equality your reward is the First Lady 😉
what a treat, I was trying to go off to make breakfast……. but I cant get away from the computer ( insert shameful look)
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Do you suppose there is a weight limit for naughty mats?
Japa, have you an alert system that tells you when pics of the First Lady are posted? 😆
Not really. At least not a conscious one.
Well, you eat breakfast with a smile on your face now. Wait, is that possible?
And an amazing prize it is 🙂
Congrats on being first ourmanflint!
Good morning…
Early riser!! Morning Collegekay!
Good morning. Chips.
Congrats on being first ourmanflint!
thanks, I can wake to Flotus’ smile any day
Morning Ceb!
Morning Chiparooo!!!! How goes it? 😀
Good morning all. Enjoy your day.
Good morning Chips and everyone,
I just saw this tweet from UT
utaustinliberal @utaustinliberal
”Pres. Obama points out that the media always plays the false equivalency BS game & what do Chris & Joan do? Whine bc he called them out”
I’m assuming it’s Joan Walsh, I might wrong.
I wonder what they said??
I can’t watch his show, no need to get angry so early in the morning.
Good Morning…
She was on Hardball last not with the freaking liar Ron Christie….. ( Chris is on vacation ) Michael Smerconish was the guest host.
It has become obvious to me that it does not matter who sits in the host chair….the words come from some writer in an office….
They are losing the War on Women ….so now they are going with ” The President is a Thug ” theme…..
I like Michael Smerconish. He’s usually pretty fair and he likes The President.
Yes, I believe he said he voted for him in ’08.
Hey ChristiMTL. I brought my tweet over and yes I was talking about Joan Walsh.
p.s. This tweet is from the first hour of Up With Chris.
oops… I thought you all were talking about Joan Walsh on Hardball last night…
LOL. That’s awesome.
Let them prove his point! Good morning everyone! Have a meaningful day!
Good morning, Pamela! Just came here to look for you.
I received my response from Hélène from Paris, this morning, and she said she had contacted you, already. So glad! You had me worried about her, too.
Good morning, Chips and all TODers!
oh I’m glad to hear about Helene..
No need to get upset with what POTUS said ,if you don’t do that.
I remember!
Don’t watch that junk…….

WASHINGTON — With a Republican opponent all but chosen and the general election campaign about to start, President Obama is preparing to emphasize an issue that few Democratic candidates have embraced in the past: national security, long the domain of the Republican Party.
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/07/us/politics/obama-embraces-national-security-as-campaign-issue.html
As someone above pointed out, the egg roll festivities are for the kids——the First Family and the WH are the hosts.
And I might add: “it might take more than one term, it might take more than one president…” where have we heard this before? Dude, chillax.
So he’s going to press the President on something he already intends to sign? Is that it??
Hmmm….isn’t United Healthcare a sponsor of ALEC? Could this be their ploy to just embarrass the President? I’m getting more cynical daily. Must stop…must stop…
Good Morning Darlings. How’s everybody doing?
All good Ladyhawke, thanks
Say it, HZ! Prayers for your pain to decrease. God bless you this Easter.
—
The gall of these people……Where are the top executives whiners going to flee? And AIG needs to STEP UP and pay back all the money owed to our feds.

Good Morning everyone.
Wow what a beautiful picture of our First Lady. She looks just gorgeous , simply gorgeous in red
Dotster, proof once again that they’re all losers. Daniels was, is and always will be a phony. This probably qualifies him to be Willard’s VP.
gop repeatedly convinces itself that they have the answer to challenge President Obama but once the person is scrutinized, they cramble before our very eyes.
what rightwingers do not want to face is that President Obama holds the presidency because people evaluated him and found him to be very qualified and very compasionate to lead the world at this time of turmoil. PBO is simply the best
Well, now we know why Gov. Mitch Daniels really didn’t want to run. Forget about the wife thingy.
That money is now in the Cayman Island in his bank account!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I was about to post the same thing….that is soooooo funny…HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Rolling on the floor laughing with tears coming out of my eyes.
Everyone have a blessed Resurrection Sunday tomorrow.
How, exactly, does one LOSE over a half billions dollars?? Seriously, how do you do that?
that’s what came to my mind…..
and why isn’t his ass in handcuffs?
well, the repugs are very talented in this particular skill–‘losing’ billions of dollars. remember the 6 billion in cash they sent in shrink-wrapped pallets to iraq, and then misplaced? supposedly that was later accounted for, but only part of it. this article, which is trying to put the issue to rest, says:
‘ the inspectors are still trying to piece together the fate of some of the few hundred million that u.s. officials stowed at one of saddam hussein’s former palaces. ‘
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/envoy/once-feared-lost-now-accounted-iraq-inspector-says-153935856.html
yep, that’s a ‘few hundred million’ they just can’t seem to find, like when your reading glasses are right on top of your head–or maybe hiding in your pocket.
and good day to you all here at tod!
Couldn’t happen to a more deserving person than the despicable Cantor. Hope his colleagues can find some buckets of pink slime to hurl his way.
cantor, the creature I think I hate most is and has always been a back-stabber! are the gop just noticing that he is out to unseat the crying bohner
Boehner needs to replace Cantor…..asap….
I do not believe Boehner has the power with the rank and file House members. It is more likely for Cantor to replace Boehner at some point. Boehner likes the prestige of the postion, but Cantor really wants the power.
WORD.
LOL!!. His own colleagues!! Well what do you expect from a man who bet on the U.S. economy to fail?
Oh, good point!! He put his money on FAIL.
Did he then lose that money? The economy faltered briefly around the debt ceiling mess, but has done amazingly well since then. I hope he lost big.
This! This is the thing that turned my republican brother independent and a vote for PBO in November.
Off with his head! Out with this mofo… What more do they need for this f-er to be sacked. Good grief…. This is abusive and criminal. He had better get more than a slap on the wrist for this.
Good morning Chips
If I knew how to do it, I’d post a pic of the Easter bunny right here.
your comment just reminded me of all the Easter outfits my mom would sew for us each year.. with lacy hats/headbands.. and white gloves 🙂 ha!
I don’t know if this had been posted before I posted it late last night, but I thought I would post it again this morning 🙂
Cousin Henry Healy and Ollie talk about their trip to DC and their visit with PBO just after mark 36:00.

thanks a lot for the link.
I will very interested to see how many religious goppers stay home on election day
They may not stay Home, but they will not donate or volunteer.
UGH!
Because progressives have to be ‘fair’. Reason is a libertarian group. Thom Hartman has this guy on periodically and rips him apart.
Isn’t Reason funded by David Koch’s ” Reason Foundation” ?
Yes,
Reason’s Board of Trustees
David H. Koch
Koch Industries
New York, NY
http://reason.org/about/faq/
The Reason Foundation is a self-described “libertarian” [1] think tank. The Reason Foundation’s projects include NewEnvironmentalism.org and Privatization.org, as well as Reason Magazine[2] It is part of the Atlas Economic Research Foundation network.
The Reason Foundation is funded, in part, by what are known as the “Koch Family Foundations,”[3] and David Koch serves as a Reason trustee.
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Reason_Foundation
I thought so….gawd…his tentacles are everywhere…
which makes it even more irresponsible and despicable that this Koch-funded looney would be invited to appear to spew nonsense on MHP. Someone either didn’t do their homework as to background—-or looked the other way—-both possibilities shameful.
Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. I’m about to go help make goodie bags for the kids coming to the WH Easter Egg Roll on Monday.
Gah! I’m so jealous! It must be great being able to volunteer up close and personal like that! Wish I lived close to DC. 😦
Morning Lisa and collegekay. I am with you Lisa. That is nice, collegekay. Have all the fun that you can doing this time. What a joy. Have a great day.
Be good to you on this beautiful day. Love you all,HZ
yeah it’s pretty cool but a long day. gotta be there at 5am on monday morning lol
Good morning and happy Easter weekend.

Kerry Washington on Melissa Harris Perry’s show! Wooot!!!!
Darn – I missed her! I will have to watch the segment on the MSNBC website.
I love Kerry Washington and I love Melissa’s new show 🙂
New post everyone, I’ll catch up with you all asap:
http://theobamadiary.com/2012/04/07/chat-away-37/
Kerry Washington was amazing! She is an excellent representative for the WH Council On The Arts and a wonderful OFA representative for #Obama2012. She understands the issues like the back of her hand and she called out Romney for backing the Blunt-Rubio Amendment. She also touted President Obama’s accomplishments and urged people to please go out and volunteer city by city, state by state for President Obama’s re-election because he really needs our help and the country desperately needs him.
Good Morning TOD Family and Happy Easter.
I hope everyone will have an enjoyable day tomorrow, it’s a beautiful sunny, cool, spring day in SoCal.
Well, this is the shortest one in the past two days, I don’t know if everyone is getting tired yet, but having come over here now, I am too beat to stay, so Goodnight, my friends, sweet dreams… Hope to see you on rise and shine Easter Morning! God Bless!
Anyone here yet??? For hachiko 🙂
Nina!!! Yes!!!
oh yes! 🙂
Goodnight friends, and hope to see you all tomorrow as usual for Rise & Shine 🙂
A little mellow tune for Easter weekend…
Happy Feelings…
I remember that you shared this with us at our last party:) Nice….
Twice as nice! 🙂
And in the same vein, here’s what three little birds had to say. Everything’s gonna be alright…
Oh, iop… you touch me in a special way. We cyan’t nevah go wrong with a little serenade from Mr. Robert Nesta Marley.
Irie for sure. 🙂
Exhausting day hanging out with visiting family. I was just about to go off to la-la-land, the urge to pop into TOD for a quick peek suddlenly overwhelmed me. Lo and behold, did I hear someone say PAR-TAYYYYY!!! 😀
Hey Dudette!
I found the pary….party over here…..party over there…
Jojo! Glad to see ya!!
Powerful.

Indeed powerful, df.
That made me very sad that those people would shout such vile things and use the “GOD” in the same sentence. It took an African American President to bring this much ugly to the surface in this country.
There’s so many comments in the other thread…..yickes
Just got off Skype with my daughter in Sydney, thought I’d see who the really hard core TODObots are, and now I Know! You guys are so cool! Enjoy the evening, the music is just fabulous! Chips will be sorry she missed it all! Happy Easter, see you in the morning! 🙂 🙂 😉
Happy Easter Pamela
Thank you, christiMtl, popped back to see how long it took Hopefruit to pass out after dissing me for falling asleep during the par~Tay! Only 3 minutes, HF, and here am I, still trying to stumble off to bed! One day, one night, I will be able to stay up, like a real grown-up, and I will even have a glass of wine! Not tonight tho, but maybe the first weekend in May, I might have a few days off then… Have fun y’all!
I’ll be stumbling in soon myself, Pamela. Glad you popped back though. Catch ya later! 🙂
\
I have to stay up to see SNL I want to see them making fun of that liar Myth Robme.
I’m sorry I missed it; will have to check out the video clip when it’s available.
You must be on the east coast…
I must be the only one who think his impression of Romney is not really good, he doesn’t sound like him at all….I liked what he said though, it was spot on. It’s easy to make fun of the pathological liar,..
Do you have Current TV or listen to Stephanie Miller in the mornings? Jim Ward does a real good voice imitation of the candidate Robme.
Thanks for the tip jojo, I like her!….I’l check that out
Hey amk…welcome to the party!
Hi jojo. Another gals night out ? This place is gonna be a mess, come a.m.
We have to behave ourselves amk…Chips gave us a pass last time when she was in Korea, this time she might come down hard on us…permanate naughty matts.
Out of touch?…..what an idiot!,
How about Miss Chaka puttin’ some reggae flava on a Fleetwood Mac classic? Awesome sound for an outdoor park!!
Is using Bisquick the same as “from scratch”? Basically it’s flour, baking soda, salt, eggs, milk, right?
Probably, a lot less complicated……………….I should do that.
Gotta closeout my DJ’ing for tonight. Thought I’d leave you something from Oleta.
May you all have a beautiful Easter morning, my TOD Family! You all are the solid rock, the calming sea and the soaring sky.
That’s beautiful Dudette..so is Oleta.
I’ll try to get some sleep
Happy Easter jojo and to whoever will read this, see you tomorrow,..
Good Night Christi, Happy Easter to you and your family.

Happy Easter everyone.
Hey Pam,
Happy Easter to you too. Are you in SoCAl? There’s a really bad tanker truck fire on the 134 fwy.
