DAMN!!!! Can he hold a job?! ESPN, MSNBC, now Current TV. Hell, he better call Dan Rather or something.

He worked at Fox too….what is left , Comedy Central….

        I kind of liked him….

I wish that would get rid of Cenk though…he is a raving lunatic.

Based on the kerfuffle over the Repub primaries I’m not at all surprised. He might try toning down his style before he starts looking again, if he was anything there like he was on MSNBC.

I can’t understand why Keith gets fired everywhere. The rumor is he can’t get along with his subordinates. At least we still have Stephanie Miller and Bill Press.

Current needs to hire Randi Rhodes, I would love to have her teevee. She said she won’t get hired because of the remark she made about Hillary in a San Francisco, CA comedy standup gig during the 2008 primaries. She called Hillary some not-so-nice-names.

I’m disappointed, but not really surprised. Would like to see someone like Randi Rhodes in that slot instead of Spitzer. Oh well.
I’m happy they put Bill Press and Stephanie Miller on in the morning though.

Woah. BREAKING: Current TV fires Keith Olbermann and replaces him with Eliot Spitzer. Though Keith is his own worst enemy, Spitzer as a replacement is a joke for a station that touts itself as the bastion of progressive voices.

Keith needs some serious introspection. It’s beginning to look like he can’t work with anyone. And yes, you are right about Spitzer.

South Portland. YAY! Love it. My grandfather pastored a church in South Portland in the 30s, and my dad graduated from Deering High School in Portland. He played football and ran track, and got the history award in 1933. We went back several years ago and traced family through Vermont and Maine, when it averaged 100 degrees here in the summer, and was a pleasant 70 degrees there! Now, if Maine can get rid of that awful governor, and elect a good senator to replace Snowe!

Bruce Springsteen “We take care of our own” is playing at the conclusion of PBO’s speech 🙂

I notice that CNN turns down the volume when the President is speaking or when the crowd is applauding to give the impression of soft applause (which we can still hear anyway). Then once PBO is done speaking they turn up the volume. #CNN’sDirtyTricks.

Lord forgive me, but I CAN’T STAND Willard Mitt the Myth Romney and it’s not because I’m an Evangelical Christian and he is not. The man is a liar by trade.

I think President Obama’s campaign will need to hire a new wing of operative just to keep up with all the lies he has told and those forth-coming. But I have all the faith in the Lord and the Obama team (my other husband Axe and the brilliant Plouffe) they are going to wipe the floor with this loser.

The Obama campaign wasn’t content to let the speech stand by itself, though.

“Mitt Romney’s latest attempt to pivot to the general election offered little in the way of new solutions and more of the misleading rhetoric that has become par for the course for him. Whether he is willfully ignoring the facts or rooting for failure, Mitt Romney’s speech overlooked key facts about the economic progress we’ve made under President Obama’s leadership. From 24 straight months of private sector job creation to a thriving automobile industry that is creating hundreds of thousands of jobs to lower taxes for every working family, the president’s decisive actions over the past three years have begun to pay off,” Obama campaign spokesman Lis Smith said in a statement.

Had to pause to wipe my eyes and stomp my feet before continuing once I realized the ruse had worked.     now officially watched the Dinner with Barack and Michelle video like 100 times. Best part of it, when PBO recounts his story about Malia;
Random mom at dance studio: “sweetie, would you like me to re-do your hair?”
Malia: ” yes please. this is a disaster.”
ZOMG!!!! I love PBO and his family. I know it’s not allowed but I really wanna know more about those girls and their personalities. Malia seems to take after her dad in looks and personality. Both PBO and Miche have talked about how precocious she is and so smart. It would be awesome if one day she decided to follow in daddy’s footsteps. I wanna know more about Sasha too. It seems like she’s more into athletics. Maybe she’ll be an athlete like Williams girls.

    • March 30, 2012 at 6:19 pm

      LOVED that bit too Lisa!!

      • 78 lisalovesobama
        March 30, 2012 at 6:33 pm

I can just see little 4 year old Malia shaking her head and shrugging her little shoulders when she said: “this is a disaster.” That is so funny. For parents there are just certain memories that really leave a mark. I’m glad this was one of those memories for him. It’ll be the same when she starts dating. He’ll be so far behind the curve and she’ll just be like: “Daddy, I’m 18, you’ve got to catch up already!” while she shakes her head and shrugs her shoulders. I bet that’s the memory that plays back for him on her first date, her wedding day and the day she gives birth. so sweet. Feel like I’m gonna cry.

Willard thinks he’s the next president of these united states. that’s what we call delusional, and his Busted-up Barbie wife isn’t much better. I find it interesting how I don’t give a crap about Mrs. Frothy Mixture and Mrs. Close My Eyes While I Think of Jesus, but I absolutely despise the Busted-up Barbie. I’m typically against cosmetic surgery cause it makes you ugly, but with how Busted looks now, she’s got nowhere else to go but up.

Mrs. Romney is smug and entitled beyond measure. The woman is Cindy McCain on steroids. But even Cindy McCain had the good sense to pretend like she contributed something to the world by inheriting her daddy’s beer business. This Ann Romney probably hasn’t wanted for anything in her entire charmed life. She’s been married to Richie Rich Romney since she was 22 and started having kids soon after. I seriously doubt she’s ever worked. And no, I’m not saying there’s something wrong with being a stay at home mom. But there’s a difference between being a typical stay at home mom and being one who’s married to a man who’s practically a billionaire. This woman’s never had a care in the world. I know she’s had several health scares and no one should have to go through that, but even then, she never had to worry about insurance or if she was getting the best care as opposed to shoddy care like many of us regular folks get.

I can’t stand her. She’s nasty and she doesn’t even seem to be aware of it. Because if she were aware of her nastiness, she’d at least pretend to be a caring everyday woman. Look at Barbara Bush, or should I say Barbara Bitch. Even she knew when to turn on her sweet grandmotherly schtick!

Didn’t Busted Barbie once say that they needed to “take back” the country. That’s when I really started despising her. Take it back from what, from whom? She’s one dumb bunny.

She also said something to the effect that we need to go back to the America of yesteryear, or some dumb crap like that. Yeah, as a woman and an African American, I am for progress, NOT for yesteryear. She’s a witch.

The media has been strangely quiet for much of today on the #Obamacare front even though all week thru early this morning they were talking about it before the justices cast their votes. I wonder what changed over the course of the day. Hmmm…

Also, Tweety is clearly pissed off about PBO’s relatively high approval ratings and double-digit leads over Willard, so now Tweety claims that polls really don’t matter unless it’s October 2012. Yet just 2 weeks ago, when the bogus ABC polls came out, Tweety was breathlessly taking about PBO’s problem going into the election because of his approvals being brought down by gas prices. Tweety is now propping up Willard at PBO’s expense, claiming that Willard is so “organized” and is running a great campaign, defeating all his opponents in the GOP primary. Spare us all, Mr. Matthews. Willard has been running for President for 5 years; he lost to old John McCain in 2008. He’s now barely winning the nomination against a very weak Republican field despite the entire GOP establishment and the corporate media on his side. He makes gaffe after gaffe, and the more exposure he gets, the less likable he becomes, and the lower his approvals. He is more than 20 points down with key voting blocs like women, Jewish, Latino and Black voters. What makes you think he will be such a forbidable opponent to PBO in November?

  21. March 30, 2012 at 7:30 pm

Hi my TOD family. Thanks Chips for that photo above. I love seeing him laugh. When I see him smile or laugh like that I remember when his grandmother told him when he called her to ask how his speech was, and he said that she said,”Barry, smile more.” I think that he must think of that at times, and say, “My grandmother told me to smile more.”

His grandmother knew that she could see her beautiful daughter, Ann everytime he smiled. A very close friend of his mother said that everytime his mother walked into a room, she would light up the room with her smile. We have so much to enjoy from his parents and his wonderful grandparents. That makes it even more beautiful.

Thank you for smiling, Mr. President.HZ

so apparently Karl Rove has a new ad out about PBO in which PBO is mocked as a Russian double agent. The ad is centered around the open-mic thingy. Seriously? I went to yahoo to check my mail and that was one of the top stories. Seriously. Russian double agent. Seriously. 🙄 Apparently, the ad is a James Bond-y and shit. Wow. Rove must really be shitting a brick if this is the best he can come up with.

I liked that lady’s hand with the four fingers up in the first photo. It’s the same color as mine, and even a little bit older…..I can tell these things:-) Don’t tell me that women of a certain age and a certain color don’t like him!!! That is not true. We KNOW a good man when we see one.
My daughter and I were talking about the President the other day….my husband was listening in to us…..smiled, as we both said how absolutely good looking he is. My daughter, early 40’s, is almost worse than I am. Fortunately, my husband admires him tremendously, and just always trusts hi m to do what’s right for the country. He doesn’t talk as much as I do, but he says…..”There’s a lot of quiet support for him across the country. Lots of people who don’t make noise, but trust him.”

That stump speech keeps getting sharper and sharper until now it’s a buzz saw.

I saw a report (I think on this site) that said unemployment could be around 6% by mid 2013. At that rate Romney is going to have to go up against an unemployment rate that has dropped from 10% to the mid 7%, Obama kickin butt on the stump and Mitt having nothing more than his weak, awkward robo-politics in response. God, I can’t wait. Drop some cash to OFA with me, will ya? Fired up.

    Hi everyone,
I was a volunteer at the event in Maine yesterday which means that I stood out in the cold for hours and helped to register folks and to get them inside. It could have been miserable with the wind blowing off the cooooold ocean but our Obama supporters are such a fun group of people. We were all smiles and laughter and kindness as we waited together.

If you get the chance to go to an event make a donation or volunteer and go! You will be so glad you did.

I have to say too that our beloved George Mitchell –best Senate Majority Leader ever— gave a tremendous speech. He is a true statesman and put the politics we are living in perspective. The picture he painted of our President is of someone who epitomizes our American values–hard work, respect for the rule of law, that anyone can achieve greatness regardless of their background, the importance of education, and public service.

And a special thank you to the Obama Diary. I don’t have time to post but I do read this blog every day and am so grateful for this resource! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
