I hope that you are feeling better.

      • March 29, 2012 at 8:59 pm

Thanks. Yes, I am feeling better but certainly not totally well. As you know, I will be weak for a few days. I went to JC today to see my mom. Had to switch out winter/spring clothes. Little warm for heavy sweaters and sweats. I did discover she is getting a UTI and also discovered her ears are in desperate need of being flushed. So glad I went and made those discoveries before any more time passes.

It is crucial that we begin focusing on the reality that it’s actually a very few folk pulling the levers & strings and we need to crush those levers and cut every one of those strings on 6 Nov 2012.

And, just who they are …

And, the fact that they’ve proven how much they hate most Americans & the Promise of America to future generations …

Purple, thank you for this video. Just shared it on FB with a reminder that today the R’s in the House voted down the Violence Against Women Act. Tonight I was at a Democratic debate between two Democrats competing in the primary to run against a far right Republican. Afterwards I was telling a group of well-informed women what happened today on the Violence Against Women Act and they were horrified and wanted to know how they could spread the world. And, of course, they all wanted to start fighting against these outrages in some way. So please, put this information on your FB, twitter it, tell friends and groups of people you encounter. The more women know the more they get energized. We need to keep building this movement. By the time we headed back to our cars tonight, the women I talked to were ready to get pitchforks and start marching.

Hi jackie. The Repugnants’ rejection of the Violence Against Women Act today had me steaming mad–particularly since it has passed routinely in past years with nary a peep. So outrageous! Great idea to juxtapose PBO’s video with the House’s vile behavior today. I don’t do Facebook, but did email PBO’s video and the House’s actions today to everyone on my contacts list. Speaking of marching, I saw on Angry Black Lady’s website that another group that IS on Facebook is trying to organize Unite Againt the War on Women marches (both in DC and across the country) on April 28. 2012. The link is below. Yep, time to get those pitchforks out!

If you are absolutely SICK AND WEARY of Arianna Huff-in-huff, raise your hand! I swear for an undeniably successful person she pathetically and transparently OVERFLOWS with JEALOUSY of the President and has done so from the beginning. What is it with her? Oh, yeah I know, IGNORE her. I NEED to do that.

        March 29, 2012 at 9:52 pm

I totally agree with all replies! But I felt I was QUITE ass-tute about the jealousy observation. I mean to me it’s PAINFULLY PALPABLE with arianna (That should be ME!) and even with seemingly intelligent but ideological types like that so-sexy George Will.

        THE JEALOUSY? Blinds them.

        • 40 hopefruit2
          March 29, 2012 at 9:55 pm

Yes I definitely agree with you about the jealousy bit. Arianna has a very peculiar streak of jealousy for PBO and it’s eating her alive.

          • 41 Eleroy
            March 30, 2012 at 2:50 am

Arianna lost all that was left of her small, sick, opportunistic, narcissistic, crazed mind ages ago!!! It kills her that she has not been successful in her plot to destroy President Obama for having the gall to ignore her pathetic ass!!!

Arianna is particularly incensed at the moment because she was “snubbed” yet again by not scoring an invite to the State dinner for David Cameron and his wife.

Arianna quite fancies herself as a mover and shaker and prides herslf in making the leap from being a complete nobody in her native Greece to sleeping her way through to and in the U.K and finally landing in a love-less marriage to a wealthy gay American man!!! Anything at all to clinch her version of “success”!!!

Forgive her bitterness and misery. It must be hard to reconcile years of plotting and planning for fame and fortune and realizing that you still come up so short in every way and worse still, nobody likes, respects or trusts your sorry ass.

That stink about you Arianna is your soul and innards rotting away–and nobody wants to be caught up in your stench!!!

Well, it looks like George Zimmerman and the Sanford Police Department are up shit creek! That video and the statement from the funeral director are exposing the lies and the cover-up.

  10. March 29, 2012 at 9:30 pm

I hate to give Piers Morgan credit for anything because I can’t stand the guy, but I have to say he’s been excellent in his interview with Zimmerman’s brother.

    • 49 hopefruit2
      March 29, 2012 at 9:53 pm

It wasn’t as softball as I expected, although there were still some irrelevant questions. For example, Piers asks the brother whether his brother has ever lied to him, or whether his brother has ever uttered a racial slur. What kind of response would you expect to get?

It appears that Zimmerman’s brother is another narcissistic liar, like his brother George. He kept embellishing the story to the point of claiming that George was “barely conscious” after Trayvon banged his head in the concrete repeatedly. Then when he realizes that Piers is not going to softball him completely like the FOX interviewer did with his father, he tries to accuse Piers of doing the media route of conjecture. He even suggests that the media doctored the 911 tapes to make it seem like his brother uttered words that weren’t there.

I think George Zimmerman with his shaved head and distinct beard is part of a white supremacist group and I won’t be surprised if and when he finally shows up in public, he will be clean shaven with hair grown!!

Like Jonathan Capehart said tonight on L’Od’s show, the savvy of the Zimmerman family and their surrogates in trying to fool and manipulate the country, is quite frightening!!!

A friend of mine is asking people to post on her FB page incidents of police harassment that they have experienced. Her brother was pulling weeds in front of her mother’s house. His mom was inside taking a bath, the door was locked and he couldn’t get in and they arrested him. The brother of another friend of mine was shot dead by police while he was jogging in a park in Long Beach, Ca. He was an honor roll student all his life as well as at his college in Long Beach. A burglary had been committed in the area and I GUESS because he was jogging, they assumed it was him. The Tsued the city and won, but that doesn’t bring their son back. At the risk of being redundant, Trayvon is not the exception, he is the rule.

A fundraiser mail from John Kerry.

When I was the Democratic nominee for president in one of the closest and toughest elections in history, a group of billionaires did something unprecedented:

They wrote million-dollar checks to fund lies about my service on what were called “Swift Boats” in Vietnam — and in so doing, they turned the boats my crewmates and I served on into a new political shorthand for the most vicious smears imaginable: “swiftboating.”

I wish like hell that the term was retired from the American political lexicon, and returned to its real meaning.

But guess what: Bob Perry, the deep-pocketed funder of the “Swift Boat Veterans for Truth,” just gave $3 million to Mitt Romney’s Super PAC.

One man. Three million dollars. And that’s just the start.

I know all too clearly that these guys will do or say anything to win. They’ll stop at nothing. But forewarned is forearmed. Their multi-million dollar smear tactics were new in 2004; in 2012 we know their playbook, and shame on us if we don’t tear it into shreds. Join me and we will stop the “swiftboating” of President Obama.

Fight back by donating $3 or more today at this critical deadline moment.

It takes someone with no shame and a lot of money to get the public to believe a total lie.

Unfortunately that’s what we’re up against.

Let’s be ready for it — let’s fight back.

    Please donate $3 today:

I am one of the people whose health prospects are totally dependent on President Obama’s policy and ACA. 15. 62 lisalovesobama
    March 29, 2012 at 10:33 pm

Chips, thanks for the cartoon with the justice overreaching. This is what I meant by my earlier rant. These guys have too much unregulated power and they don’t even take proper responsibility for the power they yield. I’m well aware of the so called ‘checks and balances’ that are supposed to govern our 3 branches of government, ( I had middle school Civics thank you very much) but ask yourselves this question: where were the checks and balances in the case of Bush v. Gore? Where were the checks and balances when 5 eggheads threw out 100 years of precedence in Citizens United? This SC is the biggest joke on the planet. I’m shocked and outraged by the process, I don’t know what the outcome of ACA will be, but ACA isn’t the issue for me right now. It’s the pure greed, selfishness and political shenanigans of this court that are more concerning. If we can’t depend on the impartiality and decency of the SC, what the hell do we have faith in? Yes, our ‘motto’ if you will, is aspirational and the SC is the biggest symbol of all of our aspirations: truth, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. If this body that is supposed to symbolize everything that is uniquely American: truth, idealism, strength and honor, is tarnished, what the hell did millions of people fight and die for over the last two centuries? People like Scalia and Thomas and the other eggheads should feel a sense of pride in that they are carrying on the dreams of millions of people who put their hope and faith in this country being a shining symbol to those around the world that truth and honesty will win no matter who you are or where you come from. Instead, they are a bunch of jaded political operatives who undermine the laws they are sworn to protect and uphold. They show little respect for who they are and they spend little time giving thought to the things that matter to real people. Fuck ’em. I would say scrap the system and start all over but the system isn’t the only problem, it’s also the people. Bad apples corrupt the whole bunch all the time.

    • March 29, 2012 at 11:48 pm

They are all over reaching, even the Courts!

    • 64 Eleroy
      March 30, 2012 at 3:12 am

Scalia’s arrogance and the realization that he is very shallow and not terribly smart and savvy as we had been previously led to believe, has been so well captured in this 3 day proceeding, for all to see and most importantly, for posterity!!!

You have to believe that with the election of President Obama, things are playing out exactly as they were meant to!!!

The revelation and unmasking of practically everyone and everything in America, has been a painfullly shocking but very good thing!!!

There could never have been any real and tangible change until scum like Scalia, Gingrich, Romney,Santorum, Bachmann, Limbaugh, Hannity, MConnell, Palin, John McCain, CNN, parts of MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC, the media and their paid stooges etc. have all been exposed, uprooted and permanently cast out!!!

Only then can we begin to heal and grow as a nation led by this extraordinary, brilliant healthy, whole and evolved man President Barack Obama who has been patiently working while waiting for the rest of America to catch up!!!

Thank you President Obama, you Sir Rock!!! Thank you for leading by example with decency, integrity, grace, empathy and greatness!!!

Under the category of everything little thing can make a difference, I just wanted to tell you of an incident where I decided to do something different than what I have done in th past.
I am sure we have all received some of those RW viral emails. Well, I belong to a group of 50 some people at my church and we have a common email list. One of the members of the group sent out an email dealing ith illegal immigration. It started out be saying all the bad things that will happen to you if you illegally enter any of the following countries:
    North korea

And then it talked about all the things that happen to people ho enter the US illegally including geeting a job, getting a drivers license, getting a social security card, getting a free education, getting free helth care and even getting to vote. It finished by asking when America is going to wake up.

Although it never once mentioned PBO or Democrats, it was obvious what th intent of the email was.

In the past I would have just hit th delete button and forgotten ab. Then I decided, th hell with that, I was going to respond and tell her what I thought of it. Then I decided to go a step further and hit the reply to all button.

My message was short and not antagonistic. I merely said, “Disregarding the fact that most of the statements you made about the US are false, just what exactly what was your intent in sending this out. I can only assume that you meant to point out how much better we are than the other countries you metioned. And I for one am very grateful that the Unted States is more humane and wonderful thn all those other countries.”

What actually surprised me is that I got four replies thanking me for sending that response and none criticizing me for doing so. It isn’t a big thing, but perhaps those people will decide to fight back th next time thy get one of those emails too. I will never just hit the delete button again. I won’t be nasty in my responses, but I will counter falsehoods when I see them.

Countering those false emails is important. We have to speak up. Earlier I told a similar experience. Tonight I wrote Chuck Todd and told him the decision on the ACA is not a win or lose situation for President Obama. It is win or lose for the American people. This is not a game, for many people it is the difference between eating and medical care, or eating and no medical care. He may never read it, but someone will.
We will all be getting those lying emails. For some of those I have gone to Factcheck.org before answering. Then when I had my own facts straight, I’ve answered and told the truth.

    • March 29, 2012 at 11:10 pm

A group of 18 foreign policy advisers to President Obama has written a public letter to Mitt Romney rebuffing criticism leveled by his campaign at Obama’s national security record.
The group also offered to “engage” with Romney’s team of advisers on a set of key foreign policy issues.
“Because you have repeatedly said that your foreign policies will be informed by the advice of experts, we wanted to highlight some of the factual inaccuracies in the letter from your advisers,” the group wrote, referring to an open message published Tuesday in the National Review.
Romney’s team, seizing on Obama’s hot mic comments to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in South Korea, accused Obama of presiding over a period of “weakness and inconstancy” and suggested it would continue if he’s re-elected.

When you look at Mitt Romney you see a man with no soul, because he has sold it. Any time you see someone who wants something so bad that they are willing to sell their principals, their values, you know that is a poor excuse of a person. Romney have sold his soul to become a right wight radical conservative, and when the general election come no one is going to believe him when he try to pull his etch a sketch and move to the middle.

MIRAMSHAH: A US drone launched a missile attack on a militant compound in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region near the Afghan border early Friday, killing four insurgents, security officials said.

The missiles targeted a house in a market area of Miramshah, the main town in North Waziristan, known as a stronghold of Taliban and al Qaeda-linked militants, they said.

“Two missiles hit a house and four militants were killed,” a security official told AFP.

“The attack took place at about 3:00 am,” he said.

Witnesses said the attack triggered a fire which destroyed the building.

The compound is located in the money changers market in the Miramshah commercial district.

An intelligence official also put the toll at four dead and said two people were wounded. He said local people, including Pakistani Taliban, were engaged in rescue work.

“…the ACA is not a win or lose situation for President Obama. It is win or lose for the American people. This is not a game, for many people it is the difference between eating and medical care, or eating and no medical care.”

    This is the real stuff!

This is the most pro-active statement I have read relating to the ACA and the Supreme Court.

We need to take this statement and plaster Facebook and Twitter with it. It is short, succinct, and true.

Thank you, Carolyn! May I use it on my page?

thanks for the link. our pres (smartest man in the room) isn’t particularly sweating the way the media ignores his successes, and trumpets any lapses. he bypasses traditional media and talks with people directly, underscoring the irrelevance of network news.

The three-way tension between the United States, Israel, and Iran became tenser this week with a widely cited report that Israel is developing a “secret staging ground” in Iran’s neighbor to the north – Azerbaijan – for a possible attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

That is a good leak… Think about it?

Indian tribe worries Keystone XL pipeline will disturb unmarked graves, artifacts in Oklahoma

By Associated Press, Published: March 26

OKLAHOMA CITY — As President Barack Obama pushes to fast-track an oil pipeline from Oklahoma south to the Gulf Coast, an American Indian tribe that calls the oil hub home worries the route may disrupt sacred sites holding the unmarked graves of their ancestors.

Sac and Fox Nation Chief George Thurman plans to voice his concerns this week in Washington. He said he fears workers placing the 485-mile Keystone XL pipeline that would run from Cushing to refineries on Texas’ Gulf Coast could disturb holy ground without consideration of the tribe. He and another tribe member say the pipeline’s route travels through areas where unmarked graves are likely buried.

“We’ve been here 171 years,” said Sandra Massey, the Sac and Fox Nation’s historic preservation officer. “We’ve been living and dying here. We are all over.”

Obama announced last week in Oklahoma that he was directing federal agencies to expedite the southern segment of the Keystone XL line, removing a critical bottleneck in the country’s oil transportation system. The full, 1,700-mile Keystone pipeline, which would run from Canada to the Gulf Coast, became a political flashpoint late last year when congressional Republicans wrote a provision forcing Obama to make a decision, and environmental groups waged a campaign to kill the project. Obama delayed the full project in January.

While watching a bit of Current tv this evening, I lingered a bit in the ‘War Room’ with J. Granholm. She’s on our side but she had a lady on that gave out the following link for ALEC that is an eye opener:

It’s got all the Board Member names and responsibilities. These mofo should be our targets.

President Barack Obama will be greeted by a standing-room-only crowd — literally — when he speaks to several thousand supporters Friday afternoon at the University of Vermont’s multi-purpose facility.

According to an emails sent to ticket holders for the event and obtained by the Burlington Free Press, the only chairs that will be available for attendees will be for elderly and disabled persons.

“This is a standing reception,” the email said. “There will be very limited seating reserved only for elderly and disabled guests who need accommodations.”

Yay, thanks to a very helpful ( very patient) BJ poster, MonkeyBoy, after more than a year, I could finally fix the TOD comment box. Now I have a white (or yellow) over black background, not the white over grey PITA.

Hopefully my spelling won’t be horrible anymore. 🙂
