So, I’m driving a rented Mercedes C300 while my beloved Scion gets a new bumper. I must say, I’m very underwhelmed. My Bessie has far more zip than the Merc. And people pay thousands of dollars for Mercs. Can’t wait until I get my car back tomorrow or Friday.

This video evidence by ABC News shows once again what liars Zimmerman, Joe Oliver, and the SPD are. Zimmerman claimed to be injured. Claimed he had wounds, injuries, a broken nose, blood on his shirt, wounds on the back of his head, wounds on his wrist yet the tape shows no evidence of his lies. There are no grass stains on the back of his jacket, no blood splatter on his shirt, no broken nose, no bandage on his head, no hospital report filed by the medics, no stitches on the back of his head, and no visible signs of distress like he claimed. His lies are unraveling day after day. In the video you can see how chummy SPD is being with him after he just murdered a child who was only carrying a bag of skittles and iced tea. SPD thought it justifiable to drug test a dead child but when they arrested Zimmerman, they didn’t wear gloves so as not contaminate whatever evidence would have been on him and his clothing. They let him walk out with his gun and his clothing on the night of the murder. They all need to be investigated. This is abhorrent.

From Rich @ NewYork magazine ( Interesting question and answer format) Check out the “win-win” for PBO, which is in direct contrast to “My Sources” Fineman’s “Lose-Lose”

“So who would a repeal of Obamacare hurt most?
The biggest victims will be the some 30 million Americans who have no health insurance. The rest of us, who one way or another will keep picking up the bill for their medical care, will also pay a price. In the political arena, the court’s decision, up or down, is a win-win for Obama and a lose-lose for Romney, who at this late date hasn’t figured out how to answer health-care questions on the Tonight Show, let alone in a debate with the president.”

Ah. That I’m not sure that you can do. I wonder if there’s a Twitter aggregator out there?

        • March 28, 2012 at 9:02 pm

That would be a constant stream of millions of tweets!!

        • 52 utaustinliberal
          March 28, 2012 at 9:10 pm

I don’t think you can do that. I don’t think Twitter allows for that. You have to have an account and follow people so that you can see their tweets on your timeline (TL). If you don’t want to log in or have an account then you can type in various peoples twitter handles and follow their tweets. If you want to follow a topic then see if there’s a hashtag – for example; #ILikeObamaCare – by typing it into the search box.

    • March 28, 2012 at 9:01 pm

That’s basically how twitter works. You have an account and follow people. That then creates your “timeline” and you read what those you follow have to say. BUT, you also get to read what those you follow are “re-tweeting.” So your timeline will have new people floating through, and you may or may not choose to follow those people.

If you’re interested in looking at someone’s tweets in particular, then search for them and follow them. OR, if you’re interested in following a TOPIC, then see if there is a hashtag for it by typing it in the search box.

this is just the kinda BS that makes me absolutely hate republicans, yes I said hate. If you’re out there voting republicans into office when they do this sort of ‘ad’ making- then SHAME on you. This is calling my President, the man legally voted into the office by a MAJORITY of people in this country, calling him our enemy.. putting him smack dab in the crosshairs.. and I, for one, am long past just being angry over this crap.

well I was just informed by a an ex inlaw of mine that she’s a repub, because it is the party of her ancestors. Thus this is why some people still vote republican. It floors me – it angers and shocks me. This is a smart woman, a black woman, a WOMAN.. who votes for republicans.. in the south. She was literally taking it personal that I called out republicans for this ad.. saying she had nothing to do with it.. I say she sure does, the second she votes for these people- she’s approving of them and their methods.

          March 29, 2012 at 1:32 am

Sherijr, please inform your “ex in-law” that political parties do not act like families. If that was the case all the right wing, racist and white supremacists, including KKK people, would be voting and supporting the Democratic party. Obviously, that is no longer the case because, since the 1960’s, former racist and right wing Democrats abandoned the Democratic party and joined the Republican party, which by the way had already abandoned your “ex in-law’s ancestors,” beginning as far back as the 1877 Hayes Compromise that ended Reconstruction. You “ex in-law” needs to know that once the Democratic party embraced Civil and Equal Rights for all, it ceased to be the old Democratic party of the racists. Just as important, she needs to know that once the Republican party abandoned support for Civi and Equal Rights for all, It ceased to be the party of Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Charles Sumner, Thaddeus Stevens and all the Black elected officials during Reconstruction. May be you can suggest to your “ex in-law” to read the biography of former Congressman, Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., who switched parties from Republican to Democrat. Finally, your “ex in-law” needs to know that in politics, unlike family, “there are no permanent friends, or permanent enemies; only permanent interests.” Tell her that continuing to vote blindly does not honor her ancestors. Rather, it helps those who want to curtail and frustrate any advances of the descendants of her ancestors.

U.S. exports to China reach historic $103.9 billion in 2011
WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) — The U.S.-China Business Council (USCBC) on Wednesday released its annual report on U.S. State Exports to China for 2011, showing that it surpassed $100 billion for the first time in history.

The announcement puts China as the third-largest export market for the United States, ranking only behind neighbors Canada and Mexico with whom the United States has a regional free-trade agreement. USCBC Vice President Erin Ennis underlined that exports to China are “vital to America’s economic health and create good jobs for American workers.”

Yardarm….glad it went well. I always love your Navy talk…..I worked for the Navy Dep’t in D.C. every summer while in college. At that time it was on Constitution Ave, called Main Navy. My “bosses” were naval architects, both civilian and military. I loved working for them. I like to say the Navy paid my way through college….almost. At that time, I could pay for the entire first semester with what I made and saved during the summer, including my clothes, which when I went to college were a very important expense. We had to look “collegiate.” So, I have always appreciated the Navy.

Please help me out with something: What exactly is a “following sea”. You have used it here, and I have run across the term in novels, but my brain can’t get it.

    • 95 yardarm756
      March 28, 2012 at 10:42 pm

The full expression is “Fair winds and following seas” is basically a nautical term for “Good Luck”.
When ships were powered by sail, in the 1800’s, it was wind that moved huge ships. Ships were at the mercy of the winds. So if the winds became too strong or violent the vessel would get tossed about like a cork in the bath tub. If the ocean became too turbulent the ship would ride rough too. The only time you could be sure that the motion was fairly smooth was if the water(waves and current) were coming at the rear of the ship(following seas). Of course a good steady wind goes without saying.
Hope that clears it up eve.

      • March 28, 2012 at 11:17 pm

So I just got called out on facebook by a woman who’s a relative by marriage.. that stating this ad is an example of the filth of republicans.. her response was to inform me that she as a republican had nothing to do w/ this ad.. and that what I said was like saying all black men are dead beat dads.

this makes me hot.. please tell me how does any woman , let alone any woman of color vote for republicans?

    • March 28, 2012 at 10:03 pm

Why is any woman a Republican?

I think many people in this country need some shock therapy. They are still under the impression that the GOP is all about personal responsibility and success. Just because most rich people vote Repbub doesn’t mean you will become rich by voting for them too. GOP helps the rich get richer. The rest of you? Pfffft…

      • March 28, 2012 at 10:31 pm

Well she and I did not finish our convo on a good note, I usually do not engage w/ republicans.. I do not like them and I’ve lived long enough to know enough of them that I cannot change their minds, and too often can’t even find common ground- politically speaking. When she adamently defends republicans as the party of her people, her ancestors- then I’m reminded of what it was like living down in Louisiana 35 years ago.. how sheltered the very very poor folks that was my exhusband’s family were. But frankly I thought things would have changed by now. My husband, back in the day, when we were together was a Democrat, so I just don’t understand her leanings at all.. I swear to gawd she wrote like a tea party person.

    • March 28, 2012 at 10:39 pm

and what I should have told her is that ‘black men as dead beat dads’ is something that has long long long been pushed by REPUBLICANS! dang, missed my chance. This is why I don’t talk to republicans, I have zero tolerance. zero.

  32. March 28, 2012 at 9:50 pm

well me either eve- until tonight. I’m so angry at her.. and yet I only knew her as a child when her uncle and I were married.. but she was so smug in her comments to me, even though we’ve had only about two conversations since she’s been an adult.. but to be a black woman and defend the filth of the republican party seriously just scares the crap out of me.

There is a rw strategist that comes on CNN that is of color. Can’t think of her name but she is cute too.

        • March 28, 2012 at 11:18 pm

well there you go.. long as she’s cute . I have known very few women who vote republican.. I have literally never know one person of color who voted republican. And it rankles. This is a woman who comes from hard times, I know how she grew up, how her uncle, my husband grew up.. poor like folks can’t believe poor.. humiliated by white local police… poorly educated in a very racist/ school.. a community completely seperated by race. This was 35 yrs ago in Louisiana. So tonight when she wrote to me that “big Govt is the devil”. I realized the education system has not improved.

      • March 28, 2012 at 11:11 pm

Tell me. Is she Pentacostal or very, very religious? If so, I might be able to help you understand, maybe a little.

        • March 28, 2012 at 11:23 pm

I get that impression yes. Understand that we’ve connected on Facebook via my sons (her cousins).. I was married to her husband 30 yrs ago.. so I know almost nothing about her. I do know that yes her family was/is religious.. very much so- this was a very very very economically poor family back 30 yrs ago in Louisiana… living in a very segregated community. I don’t have a clue how much or little things have changed there. But when she referred to Big Govt as the devil.. that does tell me she sees things in a religious context.. abortion may well be a part of that. She is one of 8 children, her mom, my sister inlaw was very poor and worked very hard raising her kids herself. Also the only “govt” people back then was the local Sheriff- who was the typical white racist puke (I met him and I know this) and school officials.. thus any dealings back then with the Govt.. was small govt, run by white folks who were so stereotypical of southern racist whites.. its almost laughable. Again, how much has changed, I don’t know. I do believe though, after/during Katrina She relocated to Texas.

          • March 28, 2012 at 11:24 pm

yikes ,that should read that I was married to MY Husband (not hers) he is her uncle.

          • March 29, 2012 at 12:06 am

I asked about her faith because the few Pentecostals (with one exception) that I know are extremely fundamental in their beliefs. They do not question or analyze. If it seems to go against what they believe the Bible says, then they are against it.

All they have to hear is gay marriage, abortion, and they are instantly turned off. I do not mean to malign them, but they seem to be easily lead. I had a male friend who did not vote for PBO because he kept all the goodluck charms people gave to him during the election of 2008. That was his reason: the good-luck charms.
Also, this is why the GOP can use wedge issues like, gay marriage, to split AA’s and gays. It’s that religious factor, again.

They really think they are right, people who think this way. That is how Gore lost Ohio in 2000: Abortion (Or Gay Marriage)

Last thing: I understand many AA’s were once Republicans, because it was once t he party of Lincoln. After the passage of the Civil Rights Act, that changed. The southern white democrats became Republicans, and the AA’s shifted to Democrats. Your relative didn’t get the memo, and, if I were you, I’d wouldn’t try to convince her: She seems entrenched.

I almost lost a friend over this political thing. We are of the same mind, politically, but she is not passionate about it. she ought to be, but I’m not even going there with her. I have TOD. See, sometimes you just have to expand your friendship horizons.

Just for clarity: I am a Christian, so I am not knocking Christianity.

Oh your response is so like my thinking (although I’m an athiest 😉 but when you wrote this:

Last thing: I understand many AA’s were once Republicans, because it was once t he party of Lincoln. After the passage of the Civil Rights Act, that changed. The southern white democrats became Republicans, and the AA’s shifted to Democrats. Your relative didn’t get the memo, and, if I were you, I’d wouldn’t try to convince her: She seems entrenched.

I had to smile, it is exactly what I said to my son.,. “she didn’t get the memo”. And I even wrote to her on facebook the exact same thing about the civil rights act changing the parties … she literally laughed at me. I have since gone back and read other things she’s posted, I never spend time on Facebook, I just post links from here and move on… tonight I read her comments on Trayvon’s murder.. she is on the side of Zimmerman.. no joke. She is of the mind that Trayvon was the instigator.. I’m just mind boggled by her. Also there were comments by her other friends about the “omnipotent Obama”. so whether its her religion, her education, some good old self-loathing.. no clue here, only that I’m sad for her. and I really appreciate your insight here Eve, thank you so much for taking the time and effort to help me understand her a bit better, though we aren’t even familiar with one another- she and I.. we were connected albeit on a minor level.. and this amazes and troubles me.

HI everyone. Been reading throughout the day. Ain’t that Zimmerman video something else? Just strolling into the police station. No bruises, gashes or blood. He doesn’t even look shaken. I know if I shot and killed someone in “self defense”, they would have to drag me out of the car and hold me up because I would be beside myself.

    • March 28, 2012 at 9:54 pm

they are claiming that EMT “cleaned” him up. I work in health care and ain’t no EMT cleaning nobody up if they ain’t taking them to the hospital. they sure wouldn’t dry-clean his damn clothers…no blood on his clothes either.

      • March 28, 2012 at 10:11 pm

That is such bullshit. In addition to what you said, the police would allow this? Evidence to be cleaned off BEFORE taking pictures, samples, etc?

      March 28, 2012 at 10:24 pm

Did the EMT’s give him a clean t-shirt? He doesn’t look like he was in a scuffle at all. He doesn’t look shaken because he’s among friends who probably told him not to worry nothings going to happen, we just need to take you in as a formality, then you’ll be free to go…with your weapon to kill again.

    Just wait until Romney has to step into the ring with the champ. Check this out;

Total $$ raised by Rommey — 74 million
Total spent hammering Newt & Santorum — 66 million

Total Raised by Obama (AFTER sharing with the DNC) — 157 million

THE BEST PART?? The very best part? This:

Total $$ Obama has spent building campaign infrastructure, GOTV technology, hiring staffers, opening field offices, etc –* 74.6 million!!*

That’s right. President Obama, without a primary opponent, has SPENT more than Mitt has raised building the OFA / Obama 2012 Campaign ‘Death Star’. That same Campaign Death Star that will be is already fully operational before Mitt even opens his first general election office. (insert evil laugh here)

The goal is not to just beat Romney. The goal is to utterly destroy him. To deconstruct him until his very name becomes short-hand for electoral rubble.

    source; http://www.opensecrets.org/pres12/index.php

Get the picture? While Romney has zero offices in Ohio, for example, Obama has 10 and plans to open dozens more in coming months. Hell, OFA has more offices in Wyoming than Mitt has in Florida! (OFA Grand opening in Laramie, WY http://www.facebook.com/events/168584336574003/

      March 28, 2012 at 10:23 pm

i think the main goal for OFA is making sure democrats win as many down ticket races as possible. democrats have got to get back the house of reps and get 60 real democrats in the senate! hopefully that infrastructure can deliver that!

          March 29, 2012 at 2:06 am

Pamela, Tim Kaine is a former Virginia governor running for the U.S. Senate. But It’s a good thing that you are sending him some money because that’s U.S. Senate seat that Democrats must hold. As you know, Tim Kaine, the former DNC Chair, is a strong supporter of President Obama. He was in fact the first governor to endorse him in 2008! He was also on the short list of the people he considered for VP. I really like Tim Kaine.

    • March 28, 2012 at 10:52 pm

The Death Star…LOVE IT! Not only has Mitt have to spend his friends money defeating Newt and Santorum, Fox News has lost viewership because of their focus on covering the disastrous primary battle.

Popcorn doesn’t even sound good anymore.

“The goal is not to just beat Romney. The goal is to utterly destroy him. To deconstruct him until his very name becomes short-hand for electoral rubble.”

Absolutely! I want Romney to be synonymous with derisive laughter and the ultimate folly. Go down in the history books as the worst campaign in modern history.

  36. March 28, 2012 at 9:57 pm

Also if Zimmerman’s clothes were bloody aren’t the cops supposed to be wearing gloves???? they aren’t.

    • 134 utaustinliberal
      March 28, 2012 at 10:07 pm

Exactly. Not only are they supposed to wear gloves so as not to contaminate the evidence but also not to sustain any health related risks. This is blood we’re talking about.

OT: But I hope the Grandparents may get a laugh. The family was here for dinner tonight and my 5 year old Granddaughter shared that she had a new friend at her school named Marisol who only spoke Spanish. I said: “That’s so great, she can help you with Spanish & you can help her with English.” Granddaughter replied: “But I don’t know English” Her Dad told her that English was what we mostly speak in our house.

Granddaughter thought about this for a moment and replied: “Papi, that’s not English. We speak American!”

Bless her sweet heart, we all had to agree & try not to laugh. Out of the mouths of our babes….

“Papi, that’s not English. We speak American!” Aquagranny, I think the Brits would wholeheartedly agree with your granddaughter! American English sure doesn’t sound exactly the same way as British English. I’ve got friends who totally get lost whenever they try to listen to people who speak with real English accent from England.

My son came home from school and told me that there was a girl in his class that couldn’t speak English. Before I could say anything he added,” But she draws in English.” When I asked him to explain he said, “She drew a house just like me…a rectangle with a triangle on top.”

Warren: ‘What Wall Street wants is Etch A Sketch Senators’

“What the lobbyists want, what Wall Street wants, is they want Etch A Sketch Senators. They want the ones who will clear the screen and change their minds to do whatever big money tells them to do. That’s what they want. But let me tell you — I’ve been fighting for middle class families for years and nothing — nothing — will shake that commitment.”

  49. March 28, 2012 at 11:25 pm

Wow, just wow. Zimmerman’s father says on video to Fox affiliate that Trayvon Martin told George Zimmerman ““You’re going to die tonight.”

WTF! The son claims Trayvon asked him “you got a problem” and “well ya do now”…and the father saying Trayvon told him “you’re going to die tonight”…really.

WTF is this some ole time cop movie ala Dirty Harry or Deathwish.

Who The Fuck do these people think they are fooling with this shit…oh yeah racist idiots who think all Black people speak slang and tough talk to whitey I guess.

The father also claimed that Trayvon Martin was never on the phone with his girlfirend even though call logs prove he was on the phone with the girl.

The father also said Zimmerman “hoped to be a judge, just like his father.”

And that critics of his son “”would have preferred my son being beaten to death.”

    • March 28, 2012 at 11:30 pm

I don’t believe him. He appears to have been covering for his son since the moment this began. there is nothing that shows Trayvon as an aggressor here, not one thing. Trayvon is the Victim.

        March 28, 2012 at 11:37 pm

          March 29, 2012 at 3:51 am

Cheryllou, Zimmerman’s father said the President have so much hate, and I guess George Zimmerman has so much love that he hunted down a 17 year old black kid and kill him. Now he’s trying to save his own neck by destroying that kid’s reputation, he has already taken the kid’s life. Jail is where Zimmerman belong.

      • 174 0388jojothecat
        March 28, 2012 at 11:40 pm

None of these people can get their lies straight, the father makes up quotes, his so-called friends make up quotes, the police makes up quotes, and today won’t be the last stories of what Trayvon did to Zimmerman will continue to get more ridicules. Why would an entire police department lie and cover-up for the likes of this person. If they did this as a favor for Zimmerman’s father, the entire police force needs to be fired including the state prosecutor who green lighted the lies and cover-up.

    • 175 anniebella
      March 29, 2012 at 3:44 am

So Trayvon told Zimmerman he was going to kill him. What was Trayvon going to kill Zimmerman with the skittles or can of tea? When Zimmerman got out of that police car he didn’t look like he was beaten up to me. And unless I’m wrong, a broken nose hurt like anything else broken. Didn’t look like Zimmerman was suffering from any pain to me.

    • 176 anniebella
      March 29, 2012 at 3:58 am

No Mr. Zimmerman we don’t, didn’t preferred your son was beaten to death, we also didn’t preferred Trayvon Martin to be shot to death. And from what I understand Trayvon wasn’t following George Zimmerman, it was George Zimmerman following Trayvon. After he was told not to follow him, he was told to let the police handle things.
