      ‘We deserve you!’ 😉

Even the ones who don’t realize it, YET, deserve someone who looks out for their best interests. I’m glad it’s you, PBO, now sweet and restful dreams!

Looking at those pictures, I wonder if the Washington Monument is open, yet?

      Website says this:

“On Tuesday, August 23, 2011, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake, occurred 84 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., damaging the Washington Monument. The National Park Service has temporarily closed the Monument and is assessing the damage to it.”

      and this:

      January 19, 2012
Philanthropist Donates 7.5 Million Dollars to Repair Washington Monument
Deputy Secretary of the Interior David J. Hayes, National Park Service Director Jonathan B. Jarvis, and Trust for the National Mall President Caroline Cunningham today announced a $7.5 million donation from philanthropist David M. Rubenstein to repair damage to the Washington Monument caused by a magnitude 5.8 earthquake last August.

    Welcome Back Chips. . .
I was the one and only very quiet person here on this blog while you were away. I have seen the disaster made by all and was hoping you would be back soon to take over…(while the cat’s away the mice will PLAY)!

BTW, I really am NOT liking the Joe guy. Hmmmm, I wonder how much he is been paid? Awaiting patiently his comments about “Goon”

(So happy that the President has reached safely.)

Great photo of Marine 1 coming in over the lit up D.C. monuments. And PBO looks so cute waving like that. He’s the best of all time. Happy to have him home.

  7. March 27, 2012 at 10:25 pm

Btw- the media is preoccupied with HCR, so are the Republicans.
My point, the EPA just initiated regulations on Greenhouse gasses. That should close a lit of dirty ass coal plants, and replace with carbon capture(hopefully)!
    Under the radar.

Good to see him back home. NOW then– about that vacation with the wife and children and mom-in-law and doggie Bo. It is time, Sir, for a wee break. Just to recharge those batteries and get your bearings. You are very important to this country and there is nothing wrong with a little r&r. So let’s get a vacation agenda up for you. First, a good rest maybe 7 to 8 hours sleep, a nice home-cooked meal, a game of basketball with the guys, special time with young miss Malia and young miss Sasha, a game of fetch with Bo and most importantly- a very nice precious time with First Lady Michelle. Then you guys should go away for a few days. OBAMA/BIDEN2012!!!!

I absolutely love it when I make a long comment, post it, and see two comments up that Chips has opened another post. However, for my own ego gratification I am reposting it here so you can all marvel at the erudite wisdom I am capable of. Or then again, maybe not. Anyway, here it is:

A couple quick points relating to the ACA case before the SC.

I mentioned on an earlier thread that it’sortant to see where the money is going. I followed all the major insurance stock prices today. By mid-day, when all the conjecture was that the mandate was going to be tossed, all the stocks were heading downward. By the end of the day, all of them ended up ahead. Wall Street isn’t all knowing, but it sure sounds like some people are pretty confident mandate stays.

It would be difficult to throw out most of the othr requirements placed on insurance companies, such as no pre-existing conditions, coverage of children to 26, no lifetime caps, etc. as Congress has already passed many laws in the past that put coverage requirements on insurance companies and they have all sed the constitutionality test.

In regards to the blurb up thread about Scalia and Thomas having dinner wiht the attorneys for the plaintiffs, I would do something extreme tomorrow morning if I were the SG and pleading the case for the government. I would stand before the court and respectfully request that those two justices recuse themselves from this case. I would not accuse them of colluding with the plaintiffs (although there is no doubt in my mind that they are) but rather, in a case of this magnitude, with all the ramifications involved, it is essential that the American people have full faith in the integrity of any decision made. I know this would not really change anything, and they would not recuse themselves, but if the case is presented strongly enough, it will virtually have to be part of the coverage of the case and it might even convice either Roberts or Kennedy to side against those two plus Alito.

Either way, those two will be dogged for the rest of their lives with questions of their integrity. But only if it is made public in a major way.

I would stand before the court and respectfully request that those two justices recuse themselves from this case.

clap, clap, clap, clap!! Japa. Of course, it ain’t gonna happen, but I sure would love it if the SG had the balls to do it!!

        March 27, 2012 at 10:48 pm

LOD grills Joe Oliver to high heaven and got him to admit,
        1. that he actually admitted that it’s possible that Zimmerman used the “c” word
        2. that Joe really doesn’t know Zimmerman very well
        3. the only evidence that Joe Oliver has that Zimmerman is innocent is his “gut”.
        4. Oliver had a conversation with Zimmerman on Saturday w/o a lawyer present and Z told him details, LOD tells him that Oliver could be called to testify as a witness.

“George may have been DRINKING (during arrest in 2005)” before Joe knew him….. and said that OUT OF THE BLUE. LOD had no mentioned alcohol, or any susbstance. He had merely read the account of Zimmerman’s arrrest.

          Oh WOW.

And Joe is barred from any contact with Zimmerman (by his attorney) in 3… 2… 1….

          😆 😆 😆

ok – back to the interview……

I was very SUSPICIOUS last sunday when I watched Joe Oliver and The ATTORNEY for Zimmerman On Abc AND Nbc
but to to night watching LOD make my point, Joe Oliver was put in a situation that that he might have
the be in court. so II think Joe Oliver sold his soul to make a lot’s of mony and he has betrayed The AA comunity,
            to defend Zimmerman.

I thought it was a mess—–and unprofessional. Wasn’t proud of any of them. Everyone was screaming over each other. I think there’s a way to do those kind of exposure interviews, and that wasn’t it. You can make your points without all that extraneous hyper accusatory tone. Screaming accomplishes nothing and that wasn’t a court of law. And that Joe Oliver—-I don’t know what his deal is at all. He is obviously more of an acquaintance than a close friend, old enough to be Zimmerman’s dad than a peer as he said. I don’t know why he is putting himself out there at great risk and grief for himself and family. I’d like to think he did it out of some sort of duty to someone he knew—-or thought he knew—–as some sort of humanity gesture—–or something. But—he quit his job to do this?? I just kept thinking that everyone who participated in that interview needed to wait for the results of the investigation. I learned nothing, other than there may have been a fight for the gun—–don’t know if that has any credibility either.

OMG, Lawrence show is hawt tonight. Just had to say: watch that Oliver dood get fried by Lawrence & Blow. Have to rewind, but thought Oliver said that he’s not working right now, busy defending Zimmerman, it get’s mighty testy from that point (popcorn time testy!). IMHO, I think Oliver thought he’s going to get a teevee gig out of this. Oliver ended up saying that in his “gut he feels that his friend is innocent, not a racial thing.” Almost popped my own damn popcorn, no microwave needed. Sort of combustion-like popcorn. OK, got to go back, and rewind that segment, Lawrence & Blow looked like they were holding on to their essplosion factors, but for a second there I thought they’d reach thru the split screen & just shake Oliver deep into his senselessness.

They’re not close friends, which Oliver admitted tonight, but he’s quit his job so he can get on TV and defend him and the basis of his gut feeling that George was defending himself? Somebody’s paying him. Plus I could swear I just heard Lawrence say Oliver used to be a CNN reporter. Something is really fishy here.

        March 27, 2012 at 11:32 pm

I read on TOD yesterday that Oliver was a former cnn reporter(forget who)…it just sounds really weird. That same poster said he was the husband of a friend of Zimmerman’s mother and not Zimmerman’s friend (I think I got that association right..it should come out sooner or later). Don’t know where the info was gotten from.

      • March 27, 2012 at 11:33 pm

He was a CNN anchor. And now he was working at some mortgage risk co. with Zimmerman? And why was that a big secret, his connection to Zimmerman there? Previously just tried to say he knew him because of a wife/mother in law connection. None of it makes sense.

        • 101 xtine
          March 27, 2012 at 11:50 pm

dotster3, I caught that too & was wondering why the hem-haw, you found out that information, etc. There’s some mess going on at that job that they don’t want out there. Does anyone know what he was doing at CNN? So he went on to a gig that he doesn’t want known? Where he met Zimmerman, or maybe they met via his family, or maybe he’s a freaking uncle, or maybe … Dood, that studio light went out by sheer exhaustion. Oliver The Hyena.

      • March 28, 2012 at 12:36 am

I love Lawrence getting under these peoples skin when they want to come on and spin. Lawrence does not have the patience especially when he is really focused on an issue. I appreciate him calling this Joe out tonight because we are dealing with a killing of a young man.

This is not a light situation to be going around playing soft ball with spots on tv. Maybe this man will think about what he is doing, and stop this. This is serious business. Gut feelings does not stack up with the facts of the law and surely justice can’t roll down with people out there spinning off of their gut feelings.

Great job, Lawrence, Jonathan and Mr. Blow.HZ

He sure looked like a dear caught in headlights when Lawrence asked if law enforcement had contacted him re: that conversation. To which he said nay. The Lawrence said he could get a subpoena! That was a YouTube moment!

Zimmerman’s father is a retired judge. Zimmerman’s arrest for assaulting a job was dismissed. He was arrested for domesic abuse, nothing became of that. Daddy had those dropped. Can Daddy get this one dropped? We shall see. As for this Oliver fool, I bet you my next pension check that he is being paid to come on teevee and defend Zimmerman. He is Judas Iscariot. Karma used to come back and bite your children’s asses. Now it’s coming back to bite your ass right away. Look at that French man that raped that maid. He is getting his waterloo. Oliver will get his soon.

Lawrence just killed it! Damn. He has just proven that Joe Oliver does NOT in any way know anything about Zimmerman and his character. First Oliver said Zimmerman took anger management classes, then he denied he said that. Then he said Zimmerman doesn’t drink. Then he denied it. Then he says Zimmerman had a broken nose courtesy of Trayvon, then he denies it. He quit his job to defend Zimmerman from point A to Z; how is he financially solvent with a family he has to provide for? First he referred to himself as Zimmerman’s very close friend; now he says he’s not. That he’s more like an “uncle” How sweet “Uncle Joe.” Lawrence, Charles, and Jonathan Capehart proved that Oliver is a LIAR!

This guy was a hot mess. I was so mad yesterday after Tweety allowed him to get away with such bull. I feel so vindicated with Lawrence’s epic take down of that con artist, along with Charles Blow and Jonathan Capehart. Uncle Joe my foot. He’s a con man who got hired as a “Professional Black Friend” by someone from the Zimmerman camp, someone who deeply fears that Zimmerman will be charged with a hate crime.

it was a thing of beauty

      • March 28, 2012 at 12:45 am

Total beauty. Tweety allowed Joe Oliver to dance all over the place yesterday, but Lawrence O’Donnell, Jonathan Capehart, and Charles Blow turned out the lights(they did not have to, Karma did the pleasure), put down the instruments, rolled up the danced floor, and the music stopped. The Conductor was tired of that tune, and Joe became history on The Lawrence O’Donnell Show tonight.

Jonathan Capehart, and Charles Blow are writing their next pieces for tomorrow’s articles. Work it, Jonathan and Charles!!!

Lawrence, Tally, Lisa, and I will take you out for a nice glass of wine when you come home to Cali. HZ

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said tough questions from Supreme Court justices did not indicate how the court would rule, and took to task a legal analyst who said otherwise.

Reid reacted to CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin’s remark that the healthcare law “looks like it’s going to be struck down” because of the tenor of the morning’s hearing.

“I’ve been in court a lot more than Jeffrey Toobin and I had arguments, federal, circuit, Supreme Court and hundreds of times before trial courts,” Reid said. “And the questions you get from the judges doesn’t mean that’s what’s going to wind up with the opinion.”

The SYG law is not relevant in this instance – unless you assume that Trayvon approached or attacked Zimmerman first. I highly doubt that was case.

Love Stephen Colbert—–I think I say that every night—–making fun of the NRA now——the preposterous scare tactics they use. When I’m president——I plan to take care of that little problem. I will run on a platform of separate roads for big trucks——I will win in a landslide.

    Chips,

I do not know if this is an appropriate request but one of us on Team Obama ( World’s Biggest Obama – Mr Igor Vovkovinskiy ) needs some help- monetary contribution to buy a new pair of shoes.

Some of you remember a Minnesota guy, who volunteered a lot for the Obama’s campaign and always wore the tee-shirt with the words “World’s Biggest Obama. His name is Mr Igor Vovkovinskiy.

The World’s Biggest Obama Fan Is Now The Tallest Man In The U.S.

Mr Igor’s problem is that he needs a new pair of shoes (size 26???) but the cost is prohibitive.

Can you please provide some help if you are in a position to do so? Here is one of the many news outlets highlighting his shoe needs.

“America’s tallest man Igor Vovkivinskiy needs a pair of shoes”.
