see ya very soon

Hi everyone.

True, I won’t actually be traveling on Air Force One, and no, I won’t be heading for Korea, but apart from that me and the President have a lot in common over the next few days: we’ll be away for a bit. Admittedly, my business is just a little less important. 😕

I’ll be in the air and on the road until Monday evening. I’ll do my very, very, very best to check in on the blog before then, especially to free the good folk stuck in pending thanks to those delightful recent changes made by WordPress, and to start new ‘chat away’ posts.

Completely normal service will be resumed on Monday evening, until then, look after yourselves – and I hope to catch up over the weekend.

Love, Chips.

I think it’s party time! Mom’s away and we’re home alone and on our own! Rollin’ in the kegs right now. Tunes are at full blast! ( I think that’s how I remember it, it’s been a couple of years) 🙂
haha—I just remembered that “trick” where friends would park away in scattered locations and one car would pick up and deliver, leaving only one car in evidence in driveway, so neighbors would be none the wiser and wouldn’t be able to tattle on the festivities.

He’s doing penance for his earlier comment about us being “better” with Obama than Romney. I’m sure the Romney camp helped to fund that new ad.

Meanwhile, Romney is in Wisconsin feverishly blanketing the airwaves with anti-Santorum ads, outspending Rick by 55 to 1. Now my question is: If Romney knew that he already has this nomination wrapped up, why is he spending so much money to defeat Santorum in a midwestern state?!?!?

      • March 23, 2012 at 5:47 pm

This is almost a threat – if you ask me. The President is the head of the country, and has done absolutely nothing to be associated with a “sworn American enemy”. The people who have been treasonous and hateful are the ones who should be aligning themselves with the likes of Ahmadinejad, especially Santorum himself – who wants his religion to rule the country, just like the Ayatolla. I detest Santorum completely. This ad should never hit the air – it’s dangerous and it’s not true.

    • March 23, 2012 at 6:08 pm

Oh no, and not that again. Despicable. Jeff Greenfield tried that on CNN during ’08 campaign. Put up a split screen of Obama/Ahmadinejad, listed all the reasons they were “just alike”, including that they both wore sportcoats with dress shirts, no tie. It was beyond ridiculous and the height of irresponsibility. CNN got blasted for it. Greenfield was gone from CNN shortly thereafter—–this was when CNN still had a hint of integrity.

I think I need sleep – I’ve been posting on the last thread, and everyone is now here. DOH.

ok – in case anyone missed it last night –

I had some requests last night for shirts that say: NEWS FLASH: SLAVERY IS ILLEGAL AND WOMEN ARE NOT PROPERTY

    – I’m torn….. Keep in mind I’m doing two versions of whatever I come up with (white letting on black shirts, and black lettering on white and color.) I made one that was two lines – ‘NEWS FLASH’ on top, then the rest below, and it looks very small on the shirt, even when I make it as large as possible. Then I made one that took up more of the body of the shirt (front or back where possible) :

    we will not go back!

    – now, which one? Both? And with or without an Obama2012 or Obama logo on it at the bottom? help?

Agree with jojo, both options are good as people like choice, leaving PBO out of it is wise, he will have enough to handle as is. Maybe okay to use the D for democrats, unless you need to run it by DNC for the go ahead. The Dark Side will be looking out for anything they can grasp onto to cause problems for us.

//| Matt Viser of the Boston Globe reports that during a campaign stop in Le Mars, Iowa this afternoon, Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney promised to veto the DREAM Act if it ever passed while he was president. Romney’s promise to veto the legislation is merely the latest escalation in a campaign that has already been marked by extreme anti-immigrant rhetoric from Romney and his fellow Republican candidates. A Pew Hispanic Center poll released earlier this week showed Romney losing Hispanic voters to President Obama by a 3:1 margin, far worse than John McCain did in 2008. //

    • March 23, 2012 at 5:52 pm

I’m getting the feeling that Mitt realizes he doesn’t have what it takes to be President, and now he’s deliberately trying to lose the nomination.

It doesn’t matter now who Robney chooses as his VP, he’s blown it big time. Every Obama precinct captain in every state that has a Latino population has to deliver this message to Hispanics: Romney hates you and doesn’t want to give your children a chance. I know I intend to make that message loud and clear to Latino voters in our little county. Romney is a stupid, short-sighted bot who doesn’t have any idea of what he’s just done. Game on.

OT–h/t GreenLadyHere at PragmaticObotsUnite, once again Mitt Romney copying POTUS and trying to match the intelligence and grace of our PBO:

Romney calls Martin shooting a ‘tragedy’, Gingrich weighs in too

Following remarks on the Trayvon Martin shooting by President Obama, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney called the controversy a “tragedy,” invoking the same term the president used.

As GLH noted, they all refused to say a word until the true leader made a statement, after which Romney scrambled to copy what POTUS said. Why is he always copying him?

    • 94 vcprezofan2

‘Why is he always following him?

Because Willard does not do original thoughts? [Let foreclosures fall. Let Detroit go bankrupt. Repeal, and go backwards, etc. etc.]
Because Willard unconsciously acknowledges that President Obama is an excellent model?
Because Willard sees the response PBO gets and he doesn’t? If it works for PBO it might also work for him?
      Because Willard has less-than-smart strategists?

Finally, the over-reaching reason = Because WILLARD IS A DIMWIT, wealthy, but a dimwit nonetheless.

Sometimes it’s actually faster and shorter on the surface streets.

Wes, how do you keep awake with all those miles and miles of asphalt ahead of you? You must have tricks of the trade for keeping your mind focused on the road after all those hours.

      • March 23, 2012 at 11:07 pm

Jackiegrumbacher, First I’m sorry it took so late to give you a reply but here goes.I have learned over time when you start your first day out eat very lite drink water and take breaks every 8 hours behind the wheel. You must make your mindset to not think about miles but points you are going to stop at. When you map your run you start with your log book and schedule your stopping points to rest and eat and freshen up.I usually eat mostly fresh salads and fruit salads and one major meal a day. I keep hot potato chips in the sleeper to snack on that hot pepper will open your eyes up when you get drowsy.if you keep munch food near by you will be OK Once your body gets use to the routine it just works. The biggest danger is eating a lot of heavy meals and a lot of sugary items that give a sluggish feeling you will get sleepy then. The sugary base foods will give you a rush then a crash and you get tired. And the most important thing is just stop get out and as you might seen Truckers walk around hitting the tires on the Truck it gives you exercise and fresh air. Also have a great sound system in your Truck to turn up the sound of great music and talking books to listen to.It took a few years to learn that and One Major component A Loving Wife to come Home Too. That last part is the greatest of them all She makes it all worthwhile.

Sadly Yardarm, you’re right. The stain on this great country was planted deep into the nation’s soul even before the Founding Fathers failed us with a Constitution that would not allow EVERY man (not to mention women) full citizenship. Karren Finney’s Twitter feed is filled with a bunch of nasty and misogynistic tweets from the right wing, apparently she struck a nerve!

    • March 23, 2012 at 6:33 pm

I bet she did, both today and yesterday. She tells it like it is and with personal experience. Gives her more credence and the right-wing know it and can’t abide that. They cannot handle the truth.

    • March 23, 2012 at 6:57 pm

She was one that brought up ALEC today(heard it twice on msnbc)——the Koch boys and NRA and some of our congress people who pushed these “stand your ground” free wheeling, no gun control laws in all these states. They are partially responsible for what happened in Florida. Other than justice in this particular horrific case, I hope that there will be renewed interest/action re. gun control and changes/abolishing these new licenses to kill. The Dems have to stop cowering in the corner shaking with fear of the NRA too. They also share responsibility in allowing this new wild west atmosphere to flourish, to disastrous results, as we’ve seen.

From now on, lets hold these media outlets accountable. Let’s tell them that simply reporting these incidents without condemning them will be interpreted as consent. And we will hold them liable accordingly. This is not funny or entertaining. We know quite well that if any of the DEM primary candidates back in 2007/-8 had portrayed GWB in that way, the media wouldn’t simply report it without condemning the Democratic candidate.

Yes, Jay Carney also said as much when asked by the Jackals this afternoon whether the WH was planning any legislative back-up.

    • March 23, 2012 at 8:28 pm

If the mandate is knocked down, it will be interesting how the GOP will handle the outrage from their insurance cohorts and the Chamber of Commerce. They were saying today that even if the mandate is knocked down, it won’t kill the law because the insurance companies will go under unless Congress passes more legislation to somehow force/encourage people to buy insurance. The fact is that the law allows so many subsidies and even some total exemptions, that there’s no way that the GOP can offer anything more affordable – unless they simply say let’s do single payer and ensure everyone gets healthcare paid completely by the Federal Government.

They were also saying on NPR last night that the GOP candidates love to scream about repeal of the law, but none of them have any tangible alternatives to the law, and that’s going to be highlighted next week.

Obamacare has become a vessel into which conservatives have poured countless suspicions about liberals and their intentions. But it’s just not some outre left-wing plot. In past decades, it would have been considered a relatively centrist approach to expanding health-care coverage. That it isn’t now says more about many of its critics than about the law itself.

    • 208 57andfemale
      March 24, 2012 at 12:48 am

    Can’t say this enough ….

  58. March 23, 2012 at 6:37 pm

As taglines go, “All of the above” is not exactly phenomenal, lacking the sex appeal of its energy-policy sister, “Drill, baby, drill,” and the historic resonance of, say, “Where’s the beef?” It conjures a standardized test more than economic stimulus.

But President Obama’s use of the phrase to describe his current energy policy leanings – signaling yes to a combination of domestic drilling, alternative energy and conservation — is driving Republicans nuts, because the phrase has been a product of their party’s energy platform for years.

They find it especially galling since Mr. Obama made moves to block, for now, part of the expansion of the Keystone XL pipeline.

Mr. Obama has used the phrase while visiting oil-rich areas of the country, and his administration is promoting it every chance it gets.

It is hard to know precisely how “all of the above” came to pertain to energy, although Senator John McCain and his running mate in 2008, former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, made good use of it in their presidential campaign, along with “drill, baby, drill” and that underdog maxim, “mine, baby, mine.”

They sure do cry a lot!

HEADLINE: Meet the Obama Official Investigating the Trayvon Martin Shooting

// Tom Perez, the Justice Department’s top civil rights lawyer, has investigated hate crimes and police abuses for years. Now he faces one of his biggest challenges yet…

…When Hastings suggested that Zimmerman might have uttered a racial slur on the call, Triplet pulled a copy of the recording out of a folder and passed it to the DOJ’s assistant attorney general for civil rights, Thomas Perez. Sanford’s city manager, Norton Bonaparte, implored Perez to probe the conduct of the Sanford police.

The inquiry being conducted by Perez’s division and the FBI is focused on the actual shooting, in part to determine whether it was a hate crime. But as questions continue to emerge about the Sanford police department’s handling of this and other racially-charged cases, civil rights leaders have urged the feds to broaden the inquiry to include a civil investigation into possible police wrongdoing. And this is an area Perez knows well. During his two-year tenure at the civil rights division, he has quietly led a federal crusade against police misconduct, pursuing 19 investigations of local police departments—the most in the division’s history. //

      • March 24, 2012 at 4:13 pm

Thank you HF for sharing this very interesting and informative article with us. The support of the DOJ under this Administration is very important to me, so I appreciate us knowing and sharing how the DOJ is working hard for the American people.

That is one of the reasons that I urge our family here to make sure that we are keeping a watch on how the Judiciary Committee and most of all how the Senate is moving or NOT moving POB’s nominations through by giving them an immediate up or down vote in the Senate.

I know for a fact how these very important nominations of these judges are impeding the many cases that are standing and waiting to be heard and given a day in court. This is not fair, and it hurts many families and individuals all across this country. It is important to get fair and qualified judges who are nonpartisan on these vacant benches. So let us stay vigilant and keep the pressure on to make sure that the Republicans in the Senate top obstructing justice by continiously holding up POB’s nominations. It hurts our nation as a whole.

Stay on your state Senators, and inform Chairman Leahy of your concerns. He along with my state Senators have been very eager to listen and get things done in my state. However, we all know or have friends, and families ALL across this nation whose lives maybe hanging in the balance because the benches are empty, simply because the Republicans are hating on POB. That is not right, and it is not fair to any city or state.

This is very close to my heart, and I hope that others will join in the cause and make sure we let the Judiciary Committee and above all Majority Leader and Majority Whip in the Senate, Dick Durbin know how we feel about this matter.

Tweet this article shared with us by HF and the tweet by our great Mr. Bobfr. Thank you, TOD family.HZ

The question that these lying media don’t even bother to pose is: why is Romney and his dog-abusing wife saying that the etch-a-sketch comment had to do with organizational changes for the transition to the general election – when we can all clearly hear that the question was all about tacking to the far right from a policy perspective. I made a comment yesterday that the thread that runs through all of the discourse from the Republican Party, right wing radio, and Fox is LIES, DISTORTIONS, INNUENDO, and MAKING STUFF UP. The other thread that runs through this party is that it’s never their fault. They NEVER take responsibility for their wrongdoing. It’s always the other guys fault. It’s infuriating. So are they now trying to imply that Trayvon Martin stole the candy? Unbelievable. They are so desperate to distract attention from these dangerous Stand Your Ground laws that they endorsed. The depravity of these people is just breathtaking. How do they talk to their own children. How do they look at themselves in the mirror. it’s a mystery to me.

WASHINGTON — An inspector general’s investigation has found that a recent appointee to the National Labor Relations Board violated the agency’s ethical code by sharing sensitive information with outside lawyers, documents released Friday show.

Terence Flynn, now a Republican member of the National Labor Relations Board, passed along “the most confidential of Agency information” while serving as agency counsel last year, the report by the labor board’s inspector general said. President Barack Obama named Flynn with a recess appointment in January to the labor board, the agency tasked with enforcing labor law on businesses and unions. Prior to that, he was chief counsel to former Republican board member Brian Hayes.

“Given Mr. Flynn’s position as a chief counsel and his years of service, he knew, or should have known, that he had a duty to maintain the confidence of the information that he received in the performance of his official duties,” the report said.

Nancy Cleeland, the NLRB spokeswoman, said that neither Flynn, the inspector general nor NLRB Chairman Mark Pearce would comment

    • March 23, 2012 at 7:12 pm

They will blame The President for this, because he appointed him.
Have to say, why us the President recess appointing a Republican?
Maybe his first true mistake, without justification!

I will wait to get the facts surrounding this situation. I don’t see a link for the article – what is the SOURCE? That’s always my #1 question when hearing any reports about President before passing baseless judgments.

Linda if you have the source, could you please post? Thanks! 🙂

I think it has to be a mix of Repubs and Dems.

      • March 23, 2012 at 8:56 pm

Not to defend Republicans here, but Pres. Obama doesn’t assume that just because someone’s a Republican then they are automatically corrupt. He has a few Repubs in his own cabinet and they haven’t been caught doing anything wrong. Now if Flynn had a history of doing this then yeah….

How many people keep receipts for everything they have in their pockets? I never take a receipt with me for small purchases–just have the clerk throw it away for me or toss it in a waste bin. I hope his parents don’t see the FOX clip!!

It is a red herring, anyway. What difference does it make? Are they that his tealing a bag of skittle and something to drink justifies killing him? It is the same mentality I hear when people protest are protesting a death sentence. I have heard people say that maybe the person isn’t guilty of this or that, but without doubt they did something (totally unnamed) that they deserve to die for.

    • March 23, 2012 at 8:57 pm

The story of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’s unpopularity is, to a great extent, a story about bad messaging. And the fact that the law is widely known as “Obamacare” — by liberals and conservatives alike — is one of the plainest examples. But today, on the second anniversary of the law, the Obama campaign is launching a counterattack, trying to turn that pejorative nickname into a positive.

Both campaign manager Jim Messina and top Obama adviser David Axelrod sent out emails today proudly using the term. Here’s Messina:

That pissed me off so bad! Rivera is a pendejo. I send my twitter squad after his sorry butt. It was despicable of him to blame the victim like this and to give the parents caca for not cautioning their child about wearing a hoodie. Even his own son sent him a nasty tweet over this piece of egregious BS.

It would not have mattered what Trayvon was wearing. He was a target the moment Zimmerman saw him.

Some people think they are thinking when they are really rearranging their prejudices.

            • March 24, 2012 at 5:25 pm

Yes, Yes, Yes, yardarm756. Hell, I have had my cousins, and friends stopped dressed in 3 piece suits or walking into their offices in highrise buildings and they are still stopped and harassed by policemen and others who made racial slurs toward them. (And these young men have more advanced degrees that the law enforcement officers and others will ever have. So it is not about your accomplishments, your education, your decent family values, but this crap goes to the heart of these awful people.

So, hell before long ,men of colour will not be able to wear anything. Men of colour of all ages will be called upon to check in with the racist people in this nation to make sure they have on the attire that is required by their standards. Come on people. And guess what ,that will be a cold day in hell. Guess who will be standing his/her ground then? And where were we, including myself when at least, 27 states in the United States of America placed such a law on the books in all of these states commencing with Fl? They thought we would stay asleep. Well, precious Trayvon Martin and so many more that we have not heard of, had to wake us up. At least we are awake now. We Will Not go back to sleep, we promise you, Trayvon Martin and all of the other young men and women who had to give up their lives and future dreams for the hate that is embodied in the hearts of so many in our country.

Mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, godmothers, godfathers, and communities are tired of this crap, and things must change for justice to run its fullness of fairness to be an American with the rights and freedoms of all people. Hell these foolish people do not even respect the President of the United States, who happens to be a man of colour and holds the highest office in the land, educated at the finest schools in the land, and wears his tennis shoes, jackets of blue, brown, caps and fine suits, etc., and look how much respect he gets. This is a DEEP DOWN DIRTY CORE of a people who just do not get what it means to be equal and will do everything in “their power” to make sure the young, old, men and women of colour do not enjoy the same freedoms and respect as all human beings should enjoy in this country that we call, America.

It is not always appropriate for POB to say this, but some of us have to and will. We are tired of this crap for any young man/woman or ANY minority of ANY ethnic group. Hell, it could have been my son mixed with his Irish dad’s blood, his mothers’s AA blood, his Indian blood, and then another dose of his Irish blood from his great, great, great grandfather’s on my side . This stuff pains a mother and father and families all across the spectrum. We have to be better people than this in the 21 century in America. This is a clear wake up call for all of us. I plan to continue to do my part, what about you? Our brothers and sisters of this great nation deserve better.HZ

I listened to a really good interview on NPR this morning on the Madeleine Brand Show. She was interviewing a man, James Peterson (Director of Africana Studies and LeHigh University), who was just a breath of fresh air and a voice of reason. He talked about the Trayvon Martin case, the comments from the President this morning and why he had to be guarded in his words, and also about race and the delicate way the President has to deal with anything associated with race – including the criticism from the Cornell West brigade. He was really good. I’m looking for his twitter info to send him a thank you message. Here’s the eight minute podcast segment below:

    [audio src="http://media.scpr.org/audio/upload/2012/03/23/20120323_mbrand_trayvon_martin.mp3" /]

      March 23, 2012 at 11:01 pm

Hi Theo. I’m checking in late, and checking out soon. I listened to that audio, and it was helpful. But, Mr. Patterson contradicted himself a few times in that he understands what PBO has to be mindful of, but that he, Mr. Patterson, wishes PBO would speak out more about racial matters. Duh !! Also, he stated that PBO was a bit late in commenting on the case, yet his own justice department is handling it, so PBO cannot say much which would compromise the investigation. I have so had it with people who say they understand PBO’s dilemma regarding race, yet want him to step into the fray anyway. It’s as if they actually need PBO to soothe their wounded pride as black people, when they themselves should carry their own burdens. I carry mine, and I do not need the President to speak for me as a black woman. Nothing he could say would alleviate the hatred in this country in the supposed hearts of bigots. He can only do as he has been, and that is to work for the good of all Americans, and for those who do not appreciate his efforts in fulfilling his duties, fuck ’em is my now favorite saying. Terrible, isn’t it? 😀 Have a good nite all. Gotta go register some voters tomorrow.

      • March 23, 2012 at 11:29 pm

I can’t argue with any of your comments – that said; I did like that he pointed out that the President has done a lot of good for the black community, and may not be able to tout his own accomplishments.

Old man gets a boner without Viagra

Former Sen. Arlen Specter (D-PA) describes meeting Sarah Palin for the first time in his new book, Life Among the Cannibals:

“Still, she was a total charmer, very friendly. The few things she said were intelligent. We were sitting virtually knee to knee in the cramped bus, and she radiated sensuality. Her skirt rode above her knees — not exactly short, but close.”

” A few thing she said were intelligent…” but screw that! She’s making me hot! Pathetic

I see the party is already in full swing. 😆 Happy Friday TOD peeps! Your So Cal TOD reporter here. Earlier today I went to the LA OFA HQ where the Honorable Hilda Solis, our current Secretary of Labor, paid a visit!. There were only approximately 20 people in attendance, including the OFA campaign staff. What a thrill and an honor to be able to meet and talk to her in such an informal and intimate setting. We basically all stood around in a circle with her (I was two people away from her) in the reception area of the OFA office. She is petite but a dynamo. She looks you directly in the eye and speaks plainly and with common sense. When she arrived, the staff brought out a red velvet birthday cake and we sang Happy Birthday for the 2nd anniversary of the ACA.

She thanked everyone for supporting the president and stressed the need to get everyone involved in his re-election campaign because we cannot afford to roll back any of the initiatives that PBO has accomplished and that he still has more he wants and needs to do for the American people for the economy, education, healthcare, more creation of quality jobs and leveling the playing field for all citizens. The ACA and the benefits particularly to women and families is going to be a major messaging focus of the campaign. Polls they did in November 2011, indicated that after positive messaging about ACA, 92% of democratic voters polled were in support of it, 73% of independents polled supported it, 74% of “undecideds” polled supported of it.

After Secretary Solis spoke, I got to shake her hand and thank her for work and particularly her work with FLOTUS Joining Forces and getting returning vets back to work. She seemed very down to earth and earnest, attributes that seem to come across in all of the peope that make up PBO’s admin, in my humble opinion. I did take quite a few pictures, but have no idea how to get them on here without Chip’s masterful skills.
Also Tien Le, I told one of the fied directors there about your ACA “pocket card” and forwarded the link to her as well. They may come in handy with some of the “one on one” conversations they’re gearing up to do, particuarly in the swing states. Spoke to a few other people there about the wondrousness that is TOD and then promptly cleaned the OFA store out of their entire inventory of BO(the Dog) for Barak 2012 pins. They are too cute!

That’s it for now. Sorry to go on so long but wanted to give you all a full report. “Film at 11” 🙂

PBO’s statement on Trayvon made my heartbreak and made me proud at the same time. Geraldo Rivera can go F HIMSELF two times. Didn’t the Unibomber wear a hoodie for cripes sake!! Safe travels Ms. Chips! We’ll hold down the fort for you…

    • March 23, 2012 at 9:05 pm

Thanks for the update – I agree that everyone in the Administration seem to have that same humble, earnest, genuine quality. They say the leader sets the tone.

I wish more people had been able to attend, but it’s probably too much for people to make it on a Friday afternoon. I know I wouldn’t have made it with traffic and work. Thanks for reporting back!

    • March 23, 2012 at 9:07 pm

You Rock Star, You. I love it. You detail information of sharing will help all of us to remain focus on the job at hand, and that being to getting POB re-elect in 2012.

I am elated that you had the great opportunity to meet one of his Cabinet member, our beloved Sec. of Labor, Hilda Solis, also a Cali beautiful lady. We love her and her commitment to making sure that she does her job as our Sec. of Labor well and totally supports POB.

Thanks for the sharing, Purpleshoesla. Rep. Dennis Cardoza (D-Calif.)
    3/23/12 12:43 PM EDT
On President Obama fast-tracking a portion of the Keystone pipeline:

“I think it’s the most idiotic political move I’ve ever seen,” Cardoza told Roll Call, adding that the president’s speech on Thursday amounted to “highlighting a waffle.”

“They don’t build statues to wafflers.”

Tell these Congressional Democrats(if that’s what you call then) to STFU! Seriously!

This kind of disrespect from Democrats drives me crazy! Did he even stop to ask anyone why this southern portion was being approved? Does he even know that it’s purely to offload excess crude for refinement? And even if it wasn’t for that – who is he to speak about the President in that way?

This is what worried me about the President’s second term. Even if we get back the House and keep the Senate, the Dems are so good at defeating themselves that they may be more trouble than the Republicans. Whomever came up with the saying, “Dems know how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory” really knew what they were talking about. We don’t hear from Dems in any type of support – we only hear from them when they’re trying to knock the President’s legs out from under him. They make me furious!

Even if Cordoza was thinking this, he should have kept it to himself. We love to eat our own. Is he up for re-election any time soon? What does he expect to gain from this?

    • March 23, 2012 at 10:14 pm

Dennis Cardoza is the most spiteful, hateful, irrelevant piece of shit to ever be a Congressman. This man is nothing but a snake in the grass, slimy and pissy. He was the guy that was Gary Condit’s Chief of Staff when he was in the California Assembly, then in the 2002 primary, ran against him. The GUY HE USED TO WORK FOR!!!! He was the one who wrote a couple of months ago basically whining because Barack Obama hasn’t invited him to the White House parties or talked to him personally to curry favor for his vote. He is now not running for re- election (THANK GOD FOR THAT!) because California redrew his district and feels as though he would get trounced badly in a primary. He is a terrible excuse for a congressman and no one will miss this choad at any rate. He’s now lashing out since nobody is really paying attention to him. This is the White Artur Davis people, irrelavent and bitchy to the end.

    FYI –

PBO departs for Seoul tonight at 11:45 Eastern and arrives Sunday morning, local time.
The demilitarized zone (DMZ) along the border between South and North Korea will be his first stop. He will visit U.S. troops there; Americans have monitored the DMZ on a peacekeeping mission for half a century.
Next are several meetings with outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Chinese President Hu Jintao.
There will be a banquet in PBO’s honor hosted by South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak.

On Monday, PBO will address students at Hankuk University in Seoul where he will outline his goals for global nuclear security and nonproliferation.
On Tuesday, there is a nuclear security summit where world leaders discuss progress on plans to protect nuclear materials from falling into the hands of terrorists or rogue regimes.
PBO will also meet privately with Pakistani Prime Minister Yusef Raza Gilani to try to reset relations after American air strikes along the Afghan-Pakistan border mistakenly killed two dozen Pakistani soldiers late last year.

    PBO returns home on Tuesday.

Thanks meta; I had lost track of where PBO was going and what he would be doing. I am exhausted just looking at this. Well he and the SK president have a great relationship, so this part of the trip should have fun as well as business. I would love to be a fly on the wall to overhear the meeting with the Pakistani PM. I am sure that they are still pissed about the bin Laden raid. Too bad for them; they are dishonest partners.

And a fine figure of a man he looks to be from his photo: make limpbals look fit as a fiddle. Small wonder they hate PBO so much, he is everything they are NOT, and they never will be. He is smart, intelligent, charismatic, compassionate, athletic, happily married, and, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES (thus, the leader of the free world). Their hatred makes them small, dark- minded and ugly. They have nothing, they are nothing. Yet, in his compassionate way, PBO works tirelessly on their behalf, and they are too stupid to realize it.

Thank you yardarm756 for you appropriate comment to that post. We are here to support POB with intellect, compassion, sharing of intelligent resources, and total RRESPECT for POB and the office of the President. Nothing is more important to us on this site than these vital issues.

Anything else , especially of this nature is f no interest to us, especially this type of low-life. I refuse to click on the site. This does not further the cause, the conversation, or the problems that POB is trying to solving especially where children, people who have no where to live, homeless veterans, seniors, and families all across this nation are having to deal with now.

Plus ,this in NO WAY improves the relationship of the focus and true conversations that will move us to a better place in this country. We have seen enough of this evil and vile hatred, and we do not appreciate ANYONE bringing this to this site. Remember we are here to Support and RESPECT President Barack H. Obama. Thank you.HZ

Good evening TODville. Chips have a safe journey and hurry up back. I’ve been busy but I do try and peek in.

spoiler alert: Glenn Greenwald is on Bill Maher pushing his “Rule of Law” BS about Anwar al-Awlaki was killed by the usurper of the Constitution; President Obama. I was at first afraid Bill Mayer would side with Greenwald; but he didn’t.

Glenn Greenwald Masters the Fox News Playbook on NDAA

America is lucky to have a designated area for fear-mongering bullshit.

It’s called Fox News, and it’s time for Salon.com to dump Glenn Greenwald and send him off to his rightful place among the Chicken Little conspiracy theorists and anti-Obama demagogues.
Greenwald’s “three myths” piece on the National Defense Authorization Act should allow this unprofessional lefty to sidestep the normal hiring procedures and join up immediately with Rupert Murdoch’s staff of paranoid nuts and bald-faced liars.

    He’s earned it, after all.

I agree “DUMP” this crazy, jealous- hearted, scaremonger. Glenn Greenwald is a fool. Besides what could Glenn Greenwald possibly be doing he is so afraid he won’t get his due process?

Eric Holder destroys Greenwald & Ron Paul

Of course, in Glenn Greenwald’s world, judicial process is the same as due process – even for avowed enemies of the United States who are operational leaders of a terrorist group targeting the United States. Hell, in Glenn Greenwald’s world, if a hijacked plane was coming at the White
House, the Air Force would probably be required to obtain a subpoena for the passenger list, check to see if there are American citizens who were hijacking it, and then get a court order before shooting it down.

GOT TO GIVE IT UP!!! The one and only MARVIN GAYE!!!

(go on, go ‘head and dance like nobody’s watching!!!)

GOT TO GIVE IT UP — Marvin Gaye

I used to go out to parties and stand around
‘Cause I was too nervous to really get down
But my body yearned to be free
I got up on the floor, boy
      so somebody could choose me.

No more standin’ there beside the walls
I have got myself together, baby
      I’m havin’ a ball

      Long as you’re groovin’
      There’s always a chance
Somebody watchin’ might wanna make romance

      Move your body, ooo baby,
      And dance all night
      Do that grooving’
      Feel all right

Everybody’s groovin’ on like a fool
But if you see me spread out and let me in
Baby just party high and low
Let me step into your erotic zone

      Move it up
      Turn it down
      Shake it down

You can love me when you want to babe
This is such a groovy party baby
      We’re here face to face
      Everybody’s swingin’
This is such a groovy place

All the young ladies are so fine!

You’re movin your body easy with no doubt
      Know what you thinkin’ baby
You want to turn me out
Think I’m gonna let you do it babe

      Keep on dancin’
      You got to get it
      Got to give it up

My sense of the G.O.P. party is that they fear president Obama a lot. To save the party , they have to destroy president Obama by lying about him.
I think this is a psychological thing, because they use the same fear they have, to destroy him. The lie and the hate about this president is everyday and everytime and it won’t work at the general election. People in the world in general and American people more specifically know who this president is. People like this man !!
To lie everytime and everyday about this president ,what they think wil destroy him and to save The G.O.P. party, will not work.
The G.O.P. is a self desructive party and I am glad about that, only because off their bad policies.

It’s been hard to find a schedule on when President Obama arrives and spends his first day in South Korea. He arrives on Sunday there, but it will still be Saturday here. Lynn Sweet, bless her heart, has the official schedule from the White House. Korea is 13 hours ahead of ET. When he arrives 6:35 am there, it will be 3:35 pm ET Saturday. Nobody except Lynn ever seems to be able to figure out the time difference and she gets it right because she copies it exactly.
