Thank you Mr. President and your stunning Lady for the warm welcome you gave our Prime Minister and his wife. The First Lady Michelle was the ultimate belle, she looked absolutely stunning. I just can’t stop staring at their photos.

Indeed, she looked GREAT. The necklace was a nice topper – made her look very regal.
PM’s wife looked a bit dowdy next to FLOTUS.
It was interesting to see so many ladies wearing sleeveless/shoulder baring gowns.
Holder and Dingell’s wives were among the most flattering.

Same thing kept happening to me. Had to log into WordPress first. 🙄 looks like WordPress decided to change a few things. Up to yesterday afternoon, I could comment without logging into WordPress. All I needed was my email address and handle and I was fine.

Hiya Africa. I see you here I see you on twitter at the same time……as Frothy Santorum would say “Witch! Witch! Witch!” Or as sane people would say, it’s just bloody technology….. 😀 Ok heading back over to twitter to keep chatting with you.

It is enlightning to compare the “conservative” PM David Cameron to our own conservatives, the Republican Party. To see the grace, thoughfullness, intelligence, and humor of the PM and to see the depths of anti-intellectualism, anti-education, greed, superstition, and hate of the current Republican Party shows how dangerous our opposition party has become.

      • March 15, 2012 at 8:26 am

Yes. I so appreciated Cameron’s thoughtful words about our president, correctly identifying his “moral strength, clear reason and fundamental decency”. And he makes it clear how far off course our conservative party has fallen. While always having a difference of opinion about fiscal matters etc., there used to be Republicans who could be described as reasonable and decent also. But this current Republican Party has just become a party of absolute whackos, crazy people, deluded and divisive and damaging to our country. Their anti-education, off the wall extremely religious statements are hard to believe, like out of some horrible over the top comedy movie. And so many are consumed by hate. It is their motivator. It’s just tragic, frightening and sad.

My husband is from the UK and is Labor Party all the way. I told him yesterday that PM Cameron seemed like a decent fellow, but this toast THIS toast, shows that he truly is a decent guy (or at least speaks like one, unlike our own prominent conservatives, aka Rethugs). Imagine a Torie (British conservative) speaking about equality and opportunity for all, and referencing Rosa Parks and civil rights, all I can say is THIS, THIS, THIS! Must share with hubby, he may change his opinion of at least this one Torie.

Have a great “O”. Busy with chores until I go to work this afternoon. Sooooo busy.

Side note..I have registered new voters in Florida. One issue that is really keeping the youth vote down is, 18 year olds that do not drive, fresh from high school do not have Florida ID. I told one to go and try to get hers. THIS SHOULD BE FREE.

    • 21 desertflower
      March 15, 2012 at 8:54 am

This SHOULD be free….but if FL is anything like AZ…a state ID is NOT free! In essense, they have a poll tax to pay, just to get the ID in order to vote. I thought that was against the law now……

Morning df. How are you doing? If I remember rightly, you’re in AZ? I saw yesterday that a woman in that state legislation is pushing a anti birth control bill of some sort.Of course there’s your govenor too. My point is, be careful where you get your water. 🙂

I watched most of the whole process and thought it was done with class. I love our President and First Lady, The PM just put in words at the State Department luncheon and the toast last night, what our President is really like. I hope the people take notice, we need him 4 more years.
Yes we can do more. Now it’s my turn to go on twitter. Got up late this morning. 🙂 I will see if I have the same problem posting as everyone else has. I had to take firefox off my computer and just use Internet explorer. It is working so far for me.
    Good Morning all. BBL

Good morning, TODville. Great day yesterday and especially enjoyable from the vantage point of TOD.

Pete Souza just posted a deck from Cameron’s visit. Most of them Chips has posted but there’s an especially beautiful photo of POTUS, FLOTUS and the Camerons on the Truman Balcony at twilight. Gorgeous!!

Good morning, Chips. Do you sleep at all? My God, I woke up this morning to spend time with our Lord in meditation, devotion, prayer, song, praise and worship because of the blessing He allowed you to share with us.

You are truly a gifted woman and you are being used in a mighty way to spread love and good cheer to those who have an ear to listen. I cannot tell you in words how grateful I am to wake up, period. But to see all the hard work and love that you put into this blog so that we all can appreciate this wonderful First Family and VP, his wife and family, the entire Administration. I am so proud to be apart of this historical event and I thank God for you taking pride in your gift. I constantly pray for everyone here whatever we all are going through, coming out or in right now. If we press on to see what the end will be, whether good, bad or ugly, we have a President who knows how to represent…….I mean, really.

    From ThinkProgress:

The UN Human Rights Council is investigating voter identification laws in the United States. While the United Nations does not have specific jurisdiction over the United States, the NAACP is making the case that voter ID laws are a form of voter suppression.
