On the iPad I can only watch when Our Chips puts up YouTube. I have to drag out the MacBook for other formats, no flash on iPad.

Another reason not to go with an apple device. Flash content works on Android tablets and phones. I watch on my Motorola Xyboard 8.2 all the time. I also don’t have to go through iTunes for anything, can make my own ringtones and have no problem putting my 3500 songs on the removable 32 gb micro SD card, not available on IPad. Further, the display rivals, if not surpasses, that of the iPad 3, the rear facing camera 5 mp, shooting 720 HD video and it is capable of 1080p video playback. The freedom to do my own thing is well worth a device priced at or below that of Apple products, which keep on costing and costing and costing.

Completely agree with you Samcdc. The only thing I went for with Apple is the Macbook Pro. That is a beautiful piece of technology. Strong, durable, easy to use, kickass technology, smooth user inter face etc. If one has the money I strongly recommend you get a Macbook or a Macbook Pro or an iMac to use as a laptop or PC because it will change your computer experience. But when it comes to phones and other gadgets like tablets I see no point in purchasing Apple. They have a new product every freaking month at exorbitant prices, they don’t use Flash, battery life isn’t as sustained as an Android, they aren’t as strong and durable as androids, their operating systems aren’t as kickass as androids, the display life isn’t as strong and bright as androids, with android phones you can do multiple things on one screen without having to close one program to use another. Androids are just all around better products than Apple phones and tablets. I firmly believe that if Androids had broken the market before Apple, they’d be outselling apple in terms of the better device. Androids are just a monster force of strength.

      March 15, 2012 at 12:05 pm

It was top notch, and this have been the problem with the Republicans every since this President have been in office. This country have problems, and Instead of working together to try to solve these problems, the Republicans rather play politics. Gas prices goes up at a certain time each year or when some crisis is going on in the middle east. And we Americans need to realize that we have to do what we can to help. Get after our Congressman and Senators to do something, stop playing politics.

      • 51 anniebella
        March 15, 2012 at 12:09 pm

Newt knows he is lying about this $2 dollar gas, get real. If you are to be a leader you will do what is best for this country, not what is best for Newt. The time for playing games are over. It’s to bad our President is the only one to see that.

Are you F’king kidding me? Abby Huntsman, Jon Huntsman’s daughter is now being referred to as a “Political Commentator” on Now With Alex on MSNBC. What qualifies her to give “expert analysis” on politics. This is another thing that’s wrong with our society. I bet someone whose dad isn’t Jon Huntsman went to school, worked their butt of to earn a political science degree, and would be more qualified to offer analysis about the state of politics in America. But no…….nepotism rules the day.

U.S.- Korea Free Trade Agreement Takes Effect

    Press Statement
    Hillary Rodham Clinton
    Secretary of StateWashington, DC

    March 15, 2012

    ——————————————————————————–

Today, the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS) enters into force, marking an historic milestone that will lead to even more trade and investment between our two countries. KORUS will provide new market access opportunities in Korea’s dynamic trillion dollar economy for U.S. exporters, creating jobs here at home while increasing opportunities for Korean companies in the United States. This agreement is another example of this Administration’s commitment to deepening our economic engagement throughout the world.

Not only will the agreement provide a significant economic boost to both of our economies, it will strengthen the U.S. partnership with a key ally in a strategically important region. This is a powerful signal of America’s commitment to the Asia Pacific and to securing and sustaining our role as a regional leader and Pacific power. I want to thank President Lee for his leadership on this issue and look forward to both countries fully realizing the promise of this landmark agreement.

Great post from Sully, Real Conservatives and Obama:

“I’ve long believed that this presidency – from the very beginning of its strategy – only made sense if viewed as an eight-year project. To vote for Obama in the first place and then not just as his strategies begin to bear real fruit seems incoherent to me. I remain a proud Obamacon. And an even prouder Tory.”

Indiana Supreme Court Rules Secretary of State Convicted Of Voter Fraud Was Still Elligible To Run |

Last month, a jury found then-Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White (R) guilty of six felony counts of voter fraud, theft, and perjury. But today, the state’s supreme court overturned a lower court’s ruling that by registering to vote at a false address, he was ineligible to run for the office.

The decision means that Gov. Mitch Daniels (R) will be able to appoint a permanent replacement for White, instead of the job going to the Democratic runner-up from the November 2010 election. The unanimous court held that Democrats should have challenged his residency before the election, rather than after.

Sen. Richard Lugar (R-IN) has been facing a lot of questions about his residency status ever since he decided to seek another term in the Senate. Both Democrats and tea party conservatives who’d like to replace the moderate Lugar have accused him of abandoning his home state in favor of a life in the DC area full-time.

Now they’ve got a new data point. The Indianapolis Star reports a local elections board “has voted 2-1 along party lines to find Sen. Richard Lugar, a Republican, and his wife ineligible to vote in their former home precinct” because their primary residence is in Virginia.

Britain has decided to cooperate with the United States in a bilateral agreement to release strategic oil stocks, two British sources said, in an effort to prevent high fuel prices derailing economic growth in an election year.

A formal request from the United States to the UK to join forces in a release of oil from government-controlled reserves is expected “shortly” following a meeting on Wednesday in Washington between President Barack Obama and Prime Minister David Cameron, who discussed the issue, one source said.

The Comedy Central star (Stephen Colbert) noted last night that the brawl between Mitt Romney and his conservative rivals was starting to feel reminiscent of another race held four years ago.

“The Democrats had the same situation the last time when they won in 2008,” said Colbert on Wednesday night’s show.

“Now the Republicans get that ‘Hillary or Obama’ magic,” Colbert theorized.

“Minus any women or black people,” he said. “Or magic.”

Republicans Oppose Violence Against Women Act Because Ladies Can’t Vote, Right?

It would take quite a monumental asshole to oppose providing assistance to victims of domestic violence. But, here we are in 2012, enmeshed in serious discussions about whether a woman’s boss should be able to decide what health care she’s allowed to purchase through insurance and if a woman carrying a stillborn fetus should be barred from having it removed until she gives birth. Exciting times, these. So it should come as no surprise that Senate Republicans have continued the noble GOP battle against mothers, wives, and daughters by opposing renewal of the Violence Against Women Act, a law that has historically had bipartisan support.

The Violence Against Women Act first became law in 1994, and has been renewed with near-unanimous support every time it’s come up for review. But according to the New York Times, when it came up for renewal again last November, Republicans on the judiciary committee noticed that there were new provisions in the act that rubbed them the wrong way. While it passed out of committee, no Republicans voted for it. And now, it’s headed for a full-on Senate Battle Royale, with Republicans crying that the bill’s expansion is a nakedly political move.

From the WTF department of what century are we in again?:

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett (R) offered up some advice for women who don’t want to have a mandatory ultrasound before they terminate their pregnancy: Don’t look at it. Now Democrats are pouncing, holding up the line as evidence of the GOP’s continuing insensitivity toward women. The quote in question came after Corbett was asked at a press conference whether “making [women] watch” an ultrasound went “too far.”
“I don’t know how you make anybody watch,” Corbett said. “You just have to close your eyes.”
    http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/03/dems-hammer-pa-governor-over-ultrasound-comments.php?ref=fpa

You just have to close your eyes???? This sounds like something from a Victorian marriage manual.
